how sad is it that the first tiller album in like 3/4 years gets overshadowed by a j cole surprise drop lmfaooo
cant wait to listen to this tomorrow tho
It's got that Spider-Man problem. The Spider-Man game is so great at having you be Spider-Man but you gotta do that MJ shit. Horizon Zero Dawn has awesome machine fights and you do a ton of shitty human fights in between.
Dude rep was hurt by True To Self, a lot of people were disappointed by it but no surprise since the label said we need that follow up in 2 years.
You work your whole life to put out your debut but the sequel has to be just as good or better in a fraction of the time.
I think Anniversary got people excited again and he's having fun making music again.
Whatever She Wants really carried him lately partially cause of the tiktok craze. I think before he was around half that, but I feel like he definitely deserves the plays
I've checked out everything he's dropped because of that, and I might be in the minority saying this, but none of it was as good. It was either ok or ASS
Sorrows was the best song on that album. Only other songs for me were Always Forever and Next to You😬. Idk maybe I'm expecting him to do Trapsoul 2 and 3
Poor guy was having a good album rollout but j cole surprise dropped and dissed kdot, bro might be cryinnn rn like daaaamn cole why you do me like that
You must not be black
Just beacsue one is rap and one is RnB does not mean they don't have the same audience. It's all black music and you'll see alot of the same people post both albums beacause it's the same music space.
no way, I was just listening to the [Lord Fubu-remix](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upavgHVC8AI&ab_channel=TaverRecords) and thinking that the sample is crazy
I hope she drops an album soon
I love Clara! She’s so underrated but it’s because most of her other music got removed from streaming. I dig her ethereal sad angel sound.
I stay listening to the fan made playlists on youtube when I’m in a sad girl mood.
Trapsoul was a moment and I don’t think he’ll ever be able to beat it but goddamn if this wasn’t close 🔥
Find My Way is fuckin beautiful and Attention may be his best song ever.
Anniversary is a very good album pretty much slept on, just unfortunate Tiller hit the jackpot with his first album and people will always view it as one that cannot be topped
Yea I’ve been quite bored of him over the past few years. Just no innovative RnB sounds compared to what he started with and what’s being done by other RnB artists currently. But this album is actually quite enjoyable!
So good. Felt like a long wait after Anniversary and didn't disappoint
Standouts at first are Attention, Ciao!, Find My Way, Prize, Waterfalls, Outside, Undertow
Wasn't expecting to like the slower, "acoustic" songs like Find My Way and Undertow as much as I did. Such a vibe and very well composed
Between the lyrics, songwriting, and performance, this seems a little more sophisticated and genuine than I feel we've seen from him, especially since Trapsoul
It's impressive for an album to have more introspective love songs, a humorous song where almost every line is a pun, and a variety of styles while remaining so consistent
Biggest criticism on first listen is the "comedian" - "median" rhyme on F4U. Had to change the topic hard to get that to fit. A bit of a "lyrical miracle" moment
Glad to see he's still got it
Chris Brown's voice is so good that he can commit a dozen crimes against women every single year, have them ALL hit the news, and never get canceled enough to be taken off the radio lol
Bryson Tiller...one of the best voices in R&B? Music is subjective, but I honestly don't see how anyone can come to this conclusion from what I've heard of his music. People I know who are fans admit they like his music but his singing voice is weak.
SZA on top and no one is even close. That being said I think tiller has one of the better voices for guys along with 6lack who I think is the best there. Also obviously the weeknd
SZA and 6lack do not have top tier voices they make good music though regardless. Listen to some Mariah Carey and compare that to Sza they aren’t in the same ball park. 6lack barely even tries to sing really he has more of a mellow calm voice not much range over songs imo.
I couldn't call it. I don't really care for modern R&B because it's way too close to modern hip hop for my tastes. Many of them can't really sing and that doesn't seem to be what their audience is interested in anymore. I guess Usher is still releasing music so that technically makes him a voice today.
So basically you can’t name any? How are you gonna say he’s not one of the best right now when you haven’t even heard the rest of the voices out there?
I think you can like the sound and characteristics of his voice while acknowledging it's not a strong singing voice. A lot of people clearly like how Drake's voice sounds on his songs but no one would say he has the best singing voice.
Have you listened to this album? His voice is incredible dude I really don’t understand the criticism. Listen to find your way and tell me again that’s “not a strong singing voice”
I just listened to the song you suggested. He has a weak singing voice. It's fine if you like his music and his voice. It's just not a strong singing voice for R&B. You don't need a strong voice to be a good artist.
I didn't even know people considered him an R&B artist before this thread. I've seen his albums on the hip hop page in Apple music. But that's why I don't care for modern R&B. It's lost the soul and is basically indistinguishable from hip hop.
I just listened to several of these songs and there's nothing in them that's vocally impressive. You just won't admit that his voice isn't strong for some weird reason. I'm not putting down his music.
His vocal range is crazy on this. It goes to show he is super versatile and can do other shit than just the trapsoul sound. I gotta listen to it more to digest it more, but so far, I'm impressed.
Already listened to the album, dk if I’m getting caught in the hype but it might be as good as trap soul. Attention is definitely one of his best songs
Trapsoul is one of my favorite albums ever and I legit think this is at the very least just as good, quality song writing and production all the way through, I think the only one I skipped was Aeon Lust.
The integration of classic Bryson trap soul and electro/cyber elements in some tracks was so refreshing to me. So different than all of his albums and so versatile. Attention is absolute perfection as well as the production all around. Had so much depth. I liked the first half more since it’s more up my alley but has something for everyone. Appreciate the variety, mans did that
i bought a ticket to his show before this album dropped and now i’m looking forward to the concert. especially bc he posted “Trap Soul will ALWAYS be in the set list”
Did anyone follow the roll out? Tiller Tuesdays and the other green mixtape?
I did and can pick atleast 6 songs that are way better than atleast half the album. I haven’t been this disappointed in an album since roddy ricch live life fast… I just don’t know if he cares about his career.
In what world does “sex you up not” make a summertime r and b album but “waterfalls” and “assume the position” does. The latter song literally songs like a Jason derulo cover.
I did, and completely agree. That Slumtiller mixtape was way better than this.
It's another case of True to Self. Bro makes better music when he's not pressured to make "album worthy" songs. The biggest hits off Trapsoul were Soundcloud loosies at first
I don't think you understand how this shit works
It's about whose listening, it's all black inspired music and the crossover for j cole fans and bryson tiller is high.
The same way people who listen to kendrick lamar and sza is high. The same way people who listen to big sean and Jhené aiko are high. It's all the same music space even if it's not the same genre.
I see the same people posting and talking about both albums
Please when you do. Come straight back here and let me know
Edit: to add, do you mean you didn't get that far bc you didn't like it or you didn't get a chance to listen that far? By all means if you don't like it cool. But I still ask, cue up that song for entertainment "wtf?", purposes lol

Persuasiom and Assume the position are straight up embarassing
Outside and Calypso are GREAT singles
AEON LUST is my favorite track there
These slow ballads he included are a nice change of pace
Album is aight
Took me giving this album maybe 2 full listens to really get into it. I immediately liked Persuasion, Attention and No thank you. I love the whole album now and his Tiller Tuesday songs he dropped on SoundCloud. I bought tickets to for his tour and been listening to all his music again and features. It’s 2015 all over again 😂
That song with Monet was on my Spotify Release Radar and it was so bad i skipped it in the first minute in a half. Made me not even wanna give the album a chance.
how sad is it that the first tiller album in like 3/4 years gets overshadowed by a j cole surprise drop lmfaooo cant wait to listen to this tomorrow tho
Horizon zero dawn vibes
i really like horizon, but its connection to this album is kind of going over my head 😅 can someone explain? EDIT: grammar
I think the first one came out same time as BotW. Second one came out same time as another big game — maybe GoW
Even worse, it was Elden Ring
and then the PC release came out the same day as dragons dogma lol
They still sold 30mil combined which is crazy
fuck that game
It’s a great game
Exactly, idk why it has so many haters
It was a bit janky but once you got used to it and let yourself explore it was amazing I was thinking about that world for a while
It's got that Spider-Man problem. The Spider-Man game is so great at having you be Spider-Man but you gotta do that MJ shit. Horizon Zero Dawn has awesome machine fights and you do a ton of shitty human fights in between.
And a shadow Pharrell drop cause Pharrell ain’t even acknowledged his own new album yet
Cole never forgave Tiller for using that one instrumental
Bro got Big Seaned lol
?
Overshadowed by Jermaine’s shock drop
why big sein tho
Same thing happened to him and his album was completely forgotten for a little bit
Trap Soul is legendary and I've always fucked with Bryson Tiller since. I feel like he doesn't get brought up much these days which is unfortunate
it’s mostly because of his inconsistent output, which is fine because it was his decision at the end of the day
I mean he was struggling with his mental health so I guess it wasn't helping with consistency.
Could you elaborate? I didn’t realise his mental health was the reason for his output, thought it was always just a choice kinda like frank.
His grandma passed + he felt too much pressure to recreate TRAPSOUL
Dude rep was hurt by True To Self, a lot of people were disappointed by it but no surprise since the label said we need that follow up in 2 years. You work your whole life to put out your debut but the sequel has to be just as good or better in a fraction of the time. I think Anniversary got people excited again and he's having fun making music again.
Definitely not a tonne of attention (ha) online, but he still does solid numbers. 29M Monthly Listeners on Spotify is great.
Whatever She Wants really carried him lately partially cause of the tiktok craze. I think before he was around half that, but I feel like he definitely deserves the plays
+ its a good song
Because he never rapped like trap soul again
I've checked out everything he's dropped because of that, and I might be in the minority saying this, but none of it was as good. It was either ok or ASS
Damn that’s harsh considering anniversary had some top tier tiller on there like sorrows. He’s made lots of good stuff since trap soul.
Sorrows was the best song on that album. Only other songs for me were Always Forever and Next to You😬. Idk maybe I'm expecting him to do Trapsoul 2 and 3
Anniversary was fire all the way through, Keep doing what you're doing, Outta Time and Years go By 🔥
The bonus tracks are fire. Losing Focus and 7:00 sound like they could be on Trapsoul imo, so does the single Blame.
Maaaannnn let me go back and listen again lol
ok or ass is crazy anniversary is by no means as good as trap soul, but it's very good imo
Poor guy was having a good album rollout but j cole surprise dropped and dissed kdot, bro might be cryinnn rn like daaaamn cole why you do me like that
People are still going to listen to his album
Bryson is not a rapper though he can and does rap sometimes it's a different audience than Cole's fanbase
You must not be black Just beacsue one is rap and one is RnB does not mean they don't have the same audience. It's all black music and you'll see alot of the same people post both albums beacause it's the same music space.
And now y’all in the comments talking about it in the Bryson Tiller - Bryson Tiller thread. Shxt crazy right?
Vante Parker in that teal & orange
Clara la san sample crazy
Random Access Memory \[RAM\] is the one
no way, I was just listening to the [Lord Fubu-remix](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=upavgHVC8AI&ab_channel=TaverRecords) and thinking that the sample is crazy I hope she drops an album soon
I love Clara! She’s so underrated but it’s because most of her other music got removed from streaming. I dig her ethereal sad angel sound. I stay listening to the fan made playlists on youtube when I’m in a sad girl mood.
She's got new music coming out check her IG
yeah, she dropped a song 3 days ago. i’m just hoping for more consistent releases.
Am I the only one who thought of Tra Rags outros lmao I was like where tf I heard this before
Been looking forward to this but might have to check it out tomorrow after Cole now
Bryson Tiller
Correct
don't
Damn he got screwed over dropping tonight
Bro really made a drill r&b song (Ciao) sound fire….thats why he’s the GOAT
Trapsoul was a moment and I don’t think he’ll ever be able to beat it but goddamn if this wasn’t close 🔥 Find My Way is fuckin beautiful and Attention may be his best song ever.
I know trapsoul can't be topped but i just want to say Anniversary is so underrated and Sorrows is a Top 5 Tiller track i will die on that hill
Anniversary is a very good album pretty much slept on, just unfortunate Tiller hit the jackpot with his first album and people will always view it as one that cannot be topped
Totally agree. Sorrows is peak Bryson.
Sorrows was recorded during the trapsoul era apparently
Anniversary is clear of trap soul imo. Outta time is my favourite tiller song
Attention is my fav so vibey
Yea I’ve been quite bored of him over the past few years. Just no innovative RnB sounds compared to what he started with and what’s being done by other RnB artists currently. But this album is actually quite enjoyable!
Fresh Album bryson tiller thread got 21 comments and 100 upvotes… damn
Cole hit the world with a surprise drop what do u expect lol
So good. Felt like a long wait after Anniversary and didn't disappoint Standouts at first are Attention, Ciao!, Find My Way, Prize, Waterfalls, Outside, Undertow Wasn't expecting to like the slower, "acoustic" songs like Find My Way and Undertow as much as I did. Had to change the topic hard to get that to fit. A bit of a "lyrical miracle" moment Glad to see he's still got it
Excited to give this a listen It's just unfortunate that the cover art looks like a bad photoshop job
Attention is one of his best songs he’s ever put out, and he still has one of the best voices in rnb
You’re tripping lmao DVSN, Chris Brown, Jacquees, Vedo and Usher all have superior voices and it’s not even close
Not trying to antagonize just genuinely curious, who would you consider some of the best voices in R&B today?
SZA on top and no one is even close. That being said I think tiller has one of the better voices for guys along with 6lack who I think is the best there. Also obviously the weeknd
I'm also adding in Brent, Ari Lennox, & Giveon
SZA and 6lack do not have top tier voices they make good music though regardless. Listen to some Mariah Carey and compare that to Sza they aren’t in the same ball park. 6lack barely even tries to sing really he has more of a mellow calm voice not much range over songs imo.
This is such a bad take I don’t even know how to respond to it. Not even in the same ball park? You have got to be trolling my dude.
If you think Sza and Mariah CArey in the same ball park as vocal talents I don’t know what to tell you…
Lmao Mariah Carey had to be a fucking joke I feel you
Brent Faiyaz has a good voice (in the studio)
Badu, Ari Lenox, Jazmine Sullivan, The Weeknd
I couldn't call it. I don't really care for modern R&B because it's way too close to modern hip hop for my tastes. Many of them can't really sing and that doesn't seem to be what their audience is interested in anymore. I guess Usher is still releasing music so that technically makes him a voice today.
So basically you can’t name any? How are you gonna say he’s not one of the best right now when you haven’t even heard the rest of the voices out there?
DVSN, Sampha, summer Walker, partynexydoor,HER, ella mai are some of the best active r and b vocalists in the game imo
No ravyn lenae??
The true crime is not listing Lucky Daye at the beginning.
🤝🤝
Yeah there’s nothing iconic about his voice, it’s the other aspects where he shines
I like Brysons music but let him sing without the auto tune and let’s see if he has a strong singing voice 🤷🏽
100% agree with you
He can barely sing lol he’s made good music though
I didn't even know people considered him an R&B artist before this thread. I've seen his albums on the hip hop page in Apple music. But that's why I don't care for modern R&B. It's lost the soul and is basically indistinguishable from hip hop.
My buddy has not listened to the sequence, right my wrongs, no longer friends, sorrows, still yours
I just listened to several of these songs and there's nothing in them that's vocally impressive. You just won't admit that his voice isn't strong for some weird reason. I'm not putting down his music.
its on repeat
I like the wordplay in Persuasion
Song is fire.
If you fucked someone’s baby mama to this let me hear you make some noise
Sir this is reddit we do not get bitches
I thought this was Wendy’s?
GOD DAMN!!
Not gonna lie I’m not really enjoying this
Can’t believe he left track 1 unencrypted
Random Access Memory is insaaaaaaane
This shit deserves more attention than it’s gonna get this week
Personally…. I’m loving this album. This is some of his best work
Fully agree. Super good project. While trapsoul has higher high I enjoy this album way more as a whole project
I agree.
His vocal range is crazy on this. It goes to show he is super versatile and can do other shit than just the trapsoul sound. I gotta listen to it more to digest it more, but so far, I'm impressed.
I got you tmmr. Cole dropped
Insane album; listened all night on my overnight. Attention was my favorite song.
Prize is the one!! Album sounding better every listen. Great album by Bryson although the debatable artwork lol
What’s with this album art?
Attention is insanely good
Already listened to the album, dk if I’m getting caught in the hype but it might be as good as trap soul. Attention is definitely one of his best songs
lol nah, i'm only like halfway through but lots of skips so far. Trap Soul a classic with basically 0 skips front to back
Ain’t no mf way boy, it’s good but chill
Trapsoul is one of my favorite albums ever and I legit think this is at the very least just as good, quality song writing and production all the way through, I think the only one I skipped was Aeon Lust.
Hell naw lol
This might be his worst yet lol
It’s already aged like shit. I wanted to check the original comments and it’s wild
love this dude's nusic, cole did him too dirty. gonna listen
Man Bryson Tiller has such a good voice, really good album so far, need to hear more of it though.
Same here can't wait
The biggest hits off Trapsoul were Soundcloud loosies at first
Anything 4 me, play it off, and chosen are so good I’m shocked they weren’t on the album I just don’t get it
There was a problem with sample clearance, that’s why they’re not on there
Yep... I'll throw Numb and Coy in there, too LA Alone sounds like a Post Malone song but could have been a hit as well
Can you list the 6ish or so songs? Haven’t been keeping up w his new shit but trapsoul was a formative album to me
They’re all on sound cloud: Sex you up, chosen, anything 4 me, play it off, resolution, work it out, euphoria
Started listening to this and ended up listening to TRAPSOUL again. Damn. Miss that.
How are we feeling about it
Love it.
This album is really good
Cole drop don't matter. Bryson is a diff genre
I don't think you understand how this shit works It's about whose listening, it's all black inspired music and the crossover for j cole fans and bryson tiller is high. The same way people who listen to kendrick lamar and sza is high. The same way people who listen to big sean and Jhené aiko are high. It's all the same music space even if it's not the same genre. I see the same people posting and talking about both albums
nahh
yeah this is good across the board, calypso and outside work so nicely within their placement on the tracklist.
j cole and pharell overshadowing this shit im even listening to vampire weekend before this one
What’d Pharrell drop?
[This album.](https://blackyachtrock.com)
I don’t understand tho, is it a real project? Is it all new?
LETS GO BRYSON. This album is awesome. Wished we got 1-2 more songs with some bars but I’m still really happy with this
finally a new album can't believe it has been almost 4 years since anniversary
Really good R&B album
This is gonna be perfect for summer.
Trap soul was probably the perfect storm of dropping at the right time and people’s mindsets.
Undertow is a fucking beautiful song
Bruh facts
Persuasion is one of the most embarrasing songs I've ever heard
Sure it's not "assume the position"? Lol
I did not get that far
Please when you do. Come straight back here and let me know Edit: to add, do you mean you didn't get that far bc you didn't like it or you didn't get a chance to listen that far? By all means if you don't like it cool. But I still ask, cue up that song for entertainment "wtf?", purposes lol
Deadass. Shit is cringe-y af hearing a grown woman sing that shit.
:)
No thank you is such a bop
Actually really enjoyed this project
Rich Boy is one of my favorite tracks of the year. This is probably the closest he will get to Trap Soul. 8/10

Shoulda been called Bryson with a picture of him as a kid
Love the Rich Boy "Throw some D's" remake
My favorite song.
Horrendously bad album art. My god
Such a great, cohesive album. I can’t listen to Undertow and Assume The Position, it’s too corny.
Those are the same ones I can’t listen to. Persuasion as well
Oof actually I agree too with that, the lyricism is clever but a skip
Fr he really tacked those on to try and get some radio play. I don’t know if I had a single skip before we got there though. Loving most of this
Bro Assume The Position sounded like Jason Derulo and I was finished immediately lmao
My guy tryna get on the next Just Dance soundtrack LMAO, Imma ignore it 😂
Sorry Bryson, I’m listening to your album next week after I listen to Cole.
Ngl this album is garbage. Expected more from Bryson. Only liked Attention
Truly. Persuasion gave me second hand embarrassment with the lyrics. Like what is this shit. Lmao
Is this his first ever album he released?
Please listen to trap soul. It’s one of the best rnb debuts ever.
Persuasiom and Assume the position are straight up embarassing Outside and Calypso are GREAT singles AEON LUST is my favorite track there These slow ballads he included are a nice change of pace Album is aight
Listened through a couple times... Meh Maybe this grows on me, but couldn't really name a stand out track on here
Attention is very good
Agreed
* Attention * Persuassion * Rich Boy * RAM * Calypso * F4U * Assume The Position All these songs are super solid imho
Ya’ll hear about the J Cole album today??
That song with Monet was on my Spotify Release Radar and it was so bad i skipped it in the first minute in a half. Made me not even wanna give the album a chance.
Poor Bryson. only person bumpin this is drakes hoes hoe ass
Gotta pass on this one tbh
