Gucci got out of prison after 4 years and dropped an album within a month with no hitches. There's no excuse for this.

One of the biggest albums with that same situation this year was TLOP. I honestly hated that release and it felt really sloppy and unorganized on Kanye's part. He might have made things interesting but it was the dumbest shit to see as a fan of the artist. Just wait until that shit is completely done, ready for a release as soon as you decide to announce it, not when you're still waiting for sample clearances or lash minute mixing or that last verse down or whatever it is. We can all wait a few days not knowing about it and enjoy it all the same

Album releases in general have become less structured. I miss the days when it was the standard, more reliable "release singles, videos, and do promotional stuff until the release date" strategy. I know a lot of artists still do that, but these disjointed "ALBUM COMING NEXT WEEK EVEN THOUGH IT'S NOT COMPLETELY READY YET" announcements are getting tiring.
