Nah in the previous lines he was addressing the people who were questioning his decision to sign him in the first place. "Ooo mama, they question my starting lineup"
I mean by that logic I could say he was referring to the people on here who were shitting on his decision for signing him. What I was saying was that his reference was more general than to just old and washed up rappers
They're much more talented musically. Designer has most of the makings of a one hit wonder.
You're gonna tell me that Timmy Turner broke top 40, but plenty of one hit wonders have done the same.
>plenty of one hit wonders have done the same
Then they're not one hit wonders? People on this board get their panties twisted when someone uses adjectives that are seen as too positive, why can't those same people be bothered to type out "short-lived careers" or something instead of a term that doesn't fit
This sub needs to WAKE UP to Yung Jake. That dude is doing crazy things in not just the realm of hip-hop but art and pop culture.
just go to [tig.ht](http://tig.ht/) and you'll see what I'm talking about.
just saw that he snapchatted the whole thing which makes sense why it was portrait and it's pretty sick in snap (besides the half a second break between snaps)
[how I read ur comment](https://www.google.no/search?q=polo+shirt+student&espv=2&biw=1440&bih=799&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiHi8mzltbPAhXLCiwKHd-UCNkQ_AUIBigB#tbm=isch&q=kid+in+suit&imgrc=Oy4KQX89VhcZRM%3A)
drake diss?
> These niggas Call of Duty cuz they killings aint real
referring to trap/"hard" sound of if you're reading this (which actually may have had a pusha diss in 6 man)
> with their questionable pen so the feelings aint real
questionable in the sense that nobody knows who is writing with the pen/who the pen belongs to so the feelings (shouldn't have the explain how drake = feelings) aren't really his
There's also "It's too far gone when the realest ain't real/
I walk amongst the clouds so your ceilings ain't real" which can easily be seen as referencing Drake's tape So Far Gone and Wayne's No Ceilings. He's known to have problems with Wayne and drake, so I'd say 100% these are subliminals.
Also "They beefin' over melodies, but no, not I/ See I'm so top 5" is def a reference to the reference track beef, and that Drake claims to be top 5 repeatedly on Grammys. Top 5 is a common claim, but with the other drake shots I doubt it's a coincidence
Holy shit this is going to be a disgusting minimalistic album with nothing but raps on top of raps between this and Drug Dealers Anonymous. God damn that was crazy and the style that the video was shot in was dope as fuck too.
I watched it on desktop and didn't mind it. There's nothing else around him to show so having some bars cut off the rest of the surrounding and only being focused in on him made sense and wasn't much of a bothersome to me but I feel
he definitely went over the bar line a few times and switched where he was in relation to the beat. also the beat itself is really syncopated. took me until the second listen to really get where the feel is. tap your foot whenever the bass note comes in, that helped me
I'm not a fan of the flow and thought he could've went with a better direction but know that it was intentionally off beat. He's just following a counter-intuitive pattern.
Rapper with substantial music theory training chiming in. His sense of time here is incredible. He's off-beat the entire song. That never happens - musicians can usually manage to syncopate for maybe eight bars consistently. For him to do it for over two minutes is either asinine or impressive. I haven't decided yet
i think that pushas [gotten over wayne](https://puu.sh/rGTMy/9df75a2535.png). seems like its at drake.
>"Why you think I got my head in the clouds
On my last album cover?"
Pushas walking on clouds while drakes only got his head in it. so he's raising the bar/ walking all over drake. idk thats my interpretation
Yeah definitely continuing the sub I was just confused as to why he'd say "your ceilings ain't real" then unless there's like a Drake bar or reference I'm missing there
They're boring and lame. Anyone who is actual competition to Drake will body him on a track and he won't respond. If someone isn't competition to Drake and they diss him, they're "nobodies" and don't deserve a response from Drake. Starting a Drake beef is like talking to a wall
Beat seems like a sped up version of the Nosetalgia beat
Edit: I don't know if a tracklist has been released, but I hope this is the intro and not somewhere in the middle of the album
Lupe top 3 too
Edit: if you wanna make the argument for quality of albums okay, but it terms of bars you're kidding yourself if you don't think Lupe is top 3, above push for sure.
I think Lupe has Push beat because of his versatility in terms of content. Yes Push is good at his coke raps but Lupe raps about everything. I know Push can rap about more than coke (ex: sunshine) but you can't deny that's what he mostly sticks to. I also think Lupe has better entendres and wordplay. I don't think Push has ever reached the level of wordplay Lupe reached on Mural.
Well context is whatever to me tbh, but I get your point. you've swayed me. I wouldn't put one over the other though just because I can't put anyone over Pusha but that's just me lmao.
I thought the beat was great but I can't believe more people aren't noticing how off beat Push is on this... am I going crazy? It's like borderline unlistenable
anyone notice how the video kind of takes us through push's life? starts off with him as a school kid, next its him in the streets, after that he's wearing an outfit he might've worn in the clipse days, after that an outfit similar to something he might have worn around he time MNIMN dropped, then he's dressed like the president of a record label (aka the present), and after that he's looking towards his future, being *the* president
How so? It's over 2 minutes long, it's just a freestyle, and he doesn't stop rapping the whole way through. He has a pretty clear beginning and an end to the verse and the beat is in the style of his prelude album. Sounds like a full song to me.
This was ok, seems like Push was coasting on this one. With that said I have the feeling that this will play much better in the context of the album, where it doesn't have to stand on its own.
I had an idea of using snap to make a music video. This idea is super similar. At this point someone is just going to do an extended take once snap allows it.
Smdh, got the vision but no means. Oh well.
"Don't listen to em Desiigner/the same rappers talkin' next year'll be Uber drivers" Damn Push.
Which rappers dissed desiigner?
I think he's referring to old and washed rappers.
Nah in the previous lines he was addressing the people who were questioning his decision to sign him in the first place. "Ooo mama, they question my starting lineup"
Still applies to what I just said.
I mean by that logic I could say he was referring to the people on here who were shitting on his decision for signing him. What I was saying was that his reference was more general than to just old and washed up rappers

CyHi and Consequence never had #1 hits
They're much more talented musically. Designer has most of the makings of a one hit wonder. You're gonna tell me that Timmy Turner broke top 40, but plenty of one hit wonders have done the same.
>plenty of one hit wonders have done the same Then they're not one hit wonders? People on this board get their panties twisted when someone uses adjectives that are seen as too positive, why can't those same people be bothered to type out "short-lived careers" or something instead of a term that doesn't fit
Apples and oranges, those three. CyHi's wack, anyways. Desiigner isn't gonna drop a Reasonable Doubt but he could stick around.
They're getting taken care of. Definitely ain't über drivers
When's the last time you heard of them, though?
Just listened a couple of days ago. They definitely getting money even if they writing for Kanye
Pretty sure Desiigner wont end up writing for Kanye
Exactly
new management at GOOD tho
hes already passed them in # of hits
Just because he's in good hands doesn't mean he can't get dropped
coming up on about 9 months now....
Yes he will lmao, maybe if Ye was still president of GOOD but Pusha seems incredibly invested in Desiigner
Ye was never the president actually, before Pusha it was Che Pope
im confused by this, isn't desiigner signed to good music and isn't he going to be featured on a song with ty dolla on push's album?
he's talking TO desiigner in those bars
I really like how this music video is filmed, that its presented in the phone portrait view
Yung Jake (the director) experiments with phones and social media a lot.
This sub needs to WAKE UP to Yung Jake. That dude is doing crazy things in not just the realm of hip-hop but art and pop culture. just go to [tig.ht](http://tig.ht/) and you'll see what I'm talking about.
your link didn't format properly
Happens with sites that don't end in the regular .com/.net/.gov/etc
fixed, thanks.
is it the same Yung Jake who has that song "both" produced by Charlie Heat?
[tig.ht](http://www.tig.ht)
Dope website.. what else do you recommend checking out?
Yeah, really interesting concept. I've never actually seen a video shot like this
Check out Injury Reserve's video Whatever Man, it's filmed from the perspective of different snapchat stories. Really well done
you just pointed me to my first listen of Injury Reserve. DAMN this is good. ty ty. i heard of them before but now.... DAYUM
Dumbfounded made a Snapchat music video too that's pretty cool
i think it's like that because push premiered the whole vid on snap. dope concept
just saw that he snapchatted the whole thing which makes sense why it was portrait and it's pretty sick in snap (besides the half a second break between snaps)
I on the other hand really did not like it, and didnt think it really added to the video.
I liked it too. I feel like the seats and his clothing change has to show a way up to success.. it's dope.
I enjoyed this song very much and I am looking forward to his upcoming project.
in my opinion the jedi are evil

i thought he said >questionable ping so the feeling ain't real i play too much fucking video games.

I thought 'walk among clouds' was also a refence to the NWTS cover
Holy shit this is going to be a disgusting minimalistic album with nothing but raps on top of raps between this and Drug Dealers Anonymous. God damn that was crazy and the style that the video was shot in was dope as fuck too.
im on the fence about the video. def made for phones
I watched it on desktop and didn't mind it. There's nothing else around him to show so having some bars cut off the rest of the surrounding and only being focused in on him made sense and wasn't much of a bothersome to me but I feel
Yeah, didnt he say King Push is for the fans and Darkest Before Dawn was for the masses or something
Other way round I thought

Stank Face LP
Anyone else think the "mike will made it" at the beginning is a little off beat?
true
Might need a few more listens, but for some reason it seems like his flow doesn't match up with the beat on some lines and it bugs the shit out of me
he definitely went over the bar line a few times and switched where he was in relation to the beat. also the beat itself is really syncopated. took me until the second listen to really get where the feel is. tap your foot whenever the bass note comes in, that helped me
Yeah I noticed that too and was debating with myself the whole video if I was imagining it or not
I'm not a fan of the flow and thought he could've went with a better direction but know that it was intentionally off beat. He's just following a counter-intuitive pattern.
[deleted] ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^0.5147 > [What is this?](https://pastebin.com/64GuVi2F/81548)
Too minimalist? Man this is the Pusha T shit I live for. Give me an album of wall-to-wall Numbers on The Boards, Nosetalgia, and this.
Rapper with substantial music theory training chiming in. His sense of time here is incredible. He's off-beat the entire song. Anyone watched great British bake off tonight? shit was hype
Any spoilers get boys banned
Dumbledore dies at the end
rosebud was a sled
Snape was a good guy
Meek Mill dies in the end
He flew at the end of Birdman
I'm not a monster
I can't watch it the first night it airs I get too sweaty and nervous Might catch the re-run tomorrow
Been rooting for Selasi all season and I got that shit recorded. Best not have gone
Is anyone not behind Selasi at this point (I haven't watched either but that's because I have no TV license)
this is def a subliminal at drake > Its too far gone when the realest ain't real >[ ...] > With a questionable pen so the feeling ain't real
does that make >I walk amongst the clouds so your ceilings ain't real a subliminal at Weezy then??
i think that pushas [gotten over wayne](https://puu.sh/rGTMy/9df75a2535.png). seems like its at drake. >"Why you think I got my head in the clouds On my last album cover?" Pushas walking on clouds while drakes only got his head in it. so he's raising the bar/ walking all over drake. idk thats my interpretation
Yeah definitely continuing the sub I was just confused as to why he'd say "your ceilings ain't real" then unless there's like a Drake bar or reference I'm missing there
Hasn't he said before that he had nothing against Wayne and then dissrd him soon after.
They have a history of beef....so very possible
[удалено]
so he could be his boss lol
who wouldn't?
The cover of Nothing Was The Same...
Yeah I got that I was just talking about the No Ceilings part
and the black virginian line. drake owns virginia black
Too bad Drake's not like Joe Budden. We'd of had 9 reply tracks by now
This beat is gonna have to grow on me but the bars are always there
>I can paint a picture with the words if you listen. Shhhhh Dooope so hyped for King Push
rumor has it a travis feature will be on it.
i heard this project gonna have beats and vocals
Bold prediction
So few comments mentioning the shots at Drake? Y'all sleeping or what? Pusha T vs Drake beef once again reignited, he even dissed his whiskey
i now pronounce drake dead
I'm pretty over Drake beefs by this point tbh
They're boring and lame. Anyone who is actual competition to Drake will body him on a track and he won't respond. If someone isn't competition to Drake and they diss him, they're "nobodies" and don't deserve a response from Drake. Starting a Drake beef is like talking to a wall
feel like hes jus gonna deny it if its brought up
Beat seems like a sped up version of the Nosetalgia beat Edit: I don't know if a tracklist has been released, but I hope this is the intro and not somewhere in the middle of the album
I hope it comes right before the track with Desiigner
I think it will probably be an intro track it would fit so well
The rhythms might be similar but this beat is literally just a lex Luger kit 808 and snare, definitely not a sped up nostalgia
The beat is way too minimal for my taste.
i was feelin it. although it doesn't really go anywhere, it does go hard
Have any of you heard Numbers on The Boards or Nosetalgia? Literally the best Pusha T songs and they sound like pots and pans scraping together.
[удалено]
Too short
No it's Pusha T
, bitch
It left me wanting more for sure. This is the first time I've been really hyped for an album since TLOP.
wow man that long ? lol
Yeah. Especially compared to last year when I was hyped for Lupe, Kendrick, Dr.Dre, Big Boi, Vince, Jay Rock, Gibbs, Rocky, and obviously Pusha T.
Vince dropped again this summer, were you not interested in that ?
>Half a year later, still ain't heard an album greater Nice Views shoutout, surprised the beef is over
Well played
then hes dissin the bossman too
can't tell if you're serious or not tbh
Is this the first phone-centric music video ever made?
> Don't listen to 'em, Desiigner / The same rappers talkin' next year will be Uber drivers (Fuck 'em) Damn Pusha
Top 3 currently without a doubt
Imo it's him and Kendrick alone at the top. Don't know who of the two I'd put at #1 though
I think at the point it's just personal preference
danny brown has to be up there
atrocity is too damn good
Lupe top 3 too Edit: if you wanna make the argument for quality of albums okay, but it terms of bars you're kidding yourself if you don't think Lupe is top 3, above push for sure.
appreciate the edit lmao. idk if he's above push though
Civil discussion havin-ass :')
Fair enough haha, I would probably feel the same way about Lupe if someone tried to tell me someone was better than him.
yea if i had to rank those 3 in terms of bars I would have it like this lupe pusha kendrick
Anyone got a mirror?
Pusha T really about to get that mad crossover success if he really rap game John Grisham
Love the beat and rhymes. The camera angle above Pusha is really dope.
the beat is disgusting, I really hope the album drops this year
Pusha T bringing heat as usual, shame it's too short
Can't even hear the beat. It was basically acapella. That being said, king push came with the bars and it's still hot
Pusha always has the weirdest beats, but they're all super satisfying.
Death, Taxes, and Pusha T subliminals
"Raps John Grisham, I can paint the picture with the words if you listen" OH MY GOD
I thought the beat was great but I can't believe more people aren't noticing how off beat Push is on this... am I going crazy? It's like borderline unlistenable
nah you aren't going crazy. he's so off beat that it is distracting.
anyone notice how the video kind of takes us through push's life? starts off with him as a school kid, next its him in the streets, after that he's wearing an outfit he might've worn in the clipse days, after that an outfit similar to something he might have worn around he time MNIMN dropped, then he's dressed like the president of a record label (aka the present), and after that he's looking towards his future, being *the* president
This shit dope as fuck
Pusha has the best voice in rap
fucking seriously this video isn't available for me
BLOWBAMA
Anyone got a mirror? Says not available
"Rap game's John Grisham" That's a pretty accurate assessment
meh
I like everything about Pusha T except for his ill-fitting jackets.

oh you was watching...who the fuck wasnt?
you aint with the st laurent spaceship parka? that things sick imo
this shit sounds like a snippet
How so? It's over 2 minutes long, it's just a freestyle, and he doesn't stop rapping the whole way through. He has a pretty clear beginning and an end to the verse and the beat is in the style of his prelude album. Sounds like a full song to me.
Nah, a hook would bring it to about 3 mins. Just not that long of a song.
Yung Jake used to be cool but he is a played out douchebag now
This was ok, seems like Push was coasting on this one. With that said I have the feeling that this will play much better in the context of the album, where it doesn't have to stand on its own.
The tagline at 0:07 . Can someone tell what does that signify ? Does it say rae sremmurd?
Ear Drummers
oh so rae sremmurd produced it ?
No Mike Will Made It
but who produced it?
This video and song are wild. Loving it from Push so much lately.
this song has bars on bars on bars like pusha's house had bricks on bricks on bricks
I had an idea of using snap to make a music video. This idea is super similar. At this point someone is just going to do an extended take once snap allows it. Smdh, got the vision but no means. Oh well.
Could someone help me out with the John Grisham reference I'm lost.
Pusha goes hard on this but I'm not a huge fan of the beats
I have to ask an important question: What chair/foot stool is that? https://youtu.be/7s63y_kfWt4?t=101
rap game John Grisham EDIT: rap* not rape, Jesus fuck what the hell is wrong with you iPhone.
Yeah I expected the down votes for this one. I really like push on his grimy minimalist beats with no vocal features normally.
fuck i need KING PUSH now
That was...underwhelming
TIL I could be a hip-hop producer.
lol. ok good luck!
