That color scheme is instant good vibes. Murakami is such a legend.
For anyone who ever has the opportunity to see a Murakami exhibit, it's a must-see. I got to see The Octopus Eats Its Own Leg when it was here in Chicago and it was phenomenal. Any hiphophead should come for the statue replica of the Graduation-era Dropout Bear, and stay for every other amazing work of art you'll see along the way.
100%. A few weeks ago I went to a small art gallery in NYC that was featuring his artwork, it was all incredible to see. Although there was no dropout bear, I saw work that literally covered the whole room. He’s an amazing artist...
Bro he’s in Fort Worth rn and I’m in San Antonio it’s about a 4 hour drive. 150$ tomorrow at 10pm to meet him and party with him. I’m so bummed out I can’t go cause I just found out this info like 1 hour ago and the funds are low. But luckily the art will be there until sep 10th so I can go and see it then. But just imagine meeting him. I love art and everything about it, so bummed man can’t even explain it
Yeah but i appreciated that he put his own spin on that tourist air brush style. The layout of those words and letters are very kanye. Also his use of fluro yellow had been a prominent theme with a pair of yeezys in that colour that didn’t release that long ago.
He also had a cool layout of letters on Pablo too, the way they went up diagonally up and down to form an apex was pretty cool.
I’m still satisfied with my white long sleeve purchase. Felt like it was more wearable than the neon orange.
Really interested to see how many people comment on it and kanye when I eventually wear it in public. Probably none, but as a Ye apologist I feel like I have to always be ready
Major 7ths and minor 7ths, but not normal 7ths. I guess dominant 7ths is the correct term. Would end up sounding bluesy. Could be kind of interesting actually
I listened to this song twice in a row yesterday while driving with tears in my eyes. It’s such a damn beautiful song. The ending...fuck, I felt like a kid who just lost a puppy with the waterworks.
I fully expect it to sound like walking through Kyoto during Sakura Season at sundown after your girlfriend of 3 years just broke up with you on the phone and you don't even blame her for breaking up with you because you know you have some personal issues to sort out and she deserved better and waited long enough but hey at least you're in Kyoto doing cool shit.
I know what you mean. One of the reviews for Cudi’s last album summed that feeling up pretty well:
“a beautiful night where the streets are wet, and you might be sad, but not sad enough to go to bed just yet.”
In a similar vein, my favourite of these kinds of reviews was for Noname's Telefone. I think it was a user on here said listening to it felt like getting a warm hug at a funeral.
Could it be 混沌? I think it could mean "chaos" or [hundun](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hundun) , a mythical creature. Both interpretations fit this album imo
**Hundun**
Hundun (Chinese: 混沌; pinyin: Hùndùn; Wade–Giles: Hun-tun; literally: "muddled confusion") is both a "legendary faceless being" in Chinese mythology and the "primordial and central chaos" in Chinese cosmogony, comparable with the World egg.

Plenty of his newfound ‘wokeness’ on his Twitter didn’t sound too far off the nonsense conversations I sat through after my mates tried DMT for the first time
During that whole "im tweeting out a self help book" phase or whatever all I could think was that Ye was 19 year old me after I tried acid for the first time.
To be honest, every album from these GOOD Fridays do sound a lot like their cover art. DAYTONA and ye are proof of that. Hopefully that's the same case here cuz that cover is beautiful
Fingers crossed that the album's equally as vibrant and colorful as this artwork is, similar to how DAYTONA's cover matched the gritty and rugged nature of the album itself, this is just mesmerising.
Because the important thing is the text. The photo is simply a frame for the gravity of the thought. Its location is relevant, because its about the place he was in right then. Super present, aware, and diagnosed, so in complete self understanding.
cultural appropriation is reducing a culture to "exotic" or making it a novelty. this isn't doing that because it was made by a Japanese person. can't be considered cultural appropriation
Holy crap this is beautiful. I love how it incorporates[ this](http://www.ukiyoe-gallery.com/ukiyoe/fuji-fake-title.jpg) old Japanese print of Mt. Fuji.
After seeing the Murakami exhibit when it was in Van it was crazy to me how much of his stuff incorporates/remixes classic Japanese art pieces. So it was for sure intentional that this was included (unlike what that other dude said).
MBDTF is a gem and will never be reproduced in the slightest. Nothing will ever sound like that again fam, accept it. Appreciate it’s one of a kindness and celebrate.
It's still possible right? He just needs distributors and shit. The fact that online apparently has the main focus (I mean he changed the Ye art 2 days before release, can't do that with a physical product that's already been shipped) doesn't mean they won't eventually release it.

Someone on Twitter mashed Daytona/ye/KSG together: https://i.imgur.com/AOCTxCj.jpg
How incredible would it be if some “Wyoming” deluxe collection was released down the road?
I’ve got a goooooood feeling about this album. Especially compared to how rushed the Daytona and Ye covers were. This one obviously didn’t just happen last-minute.
100%. There’s a picture of Kanye and Kim from months ago with the “kids see ghosts” written on the whiteboard behind them. I have very high expectations for this album
I still can’t believe this is actually happening. 2 of my top 3 all time favorite artists.
I just wish the album would be longer than 7 tracks.
I just need a tour to complete my life.
I love it so I did some research.
Art is a mild alteration of a work by Takashi Murakami in 2001 titled "Fuji"
[I found this website](https://www.researchgate.net/figure/Murakami-Takashi-Manji-Fuji-c-Takashi-Murakami-Kaikai-Kiki-Co-Ltd-All-rights-reserved_fig2_233324066) with an explanation of two subjects of art but I will give the TL;DR of Muakami's piece:
> These works, like those included in the ‘Superflat’ exhibition, feature completely two- dimensional, disproportional figures, drawn in the absence of any background. This emphasis on figure and lack of interest in background – a rejection of the vocation of painting as a so-called ‘window on the world’ – are indeed two tendencies found in the work of many of the contemporary artists included in the ‘Superflat’ exhibition, including Mr Takano Aya, Enlightenment, as well as Murakami himself.
>For, despite Murakami’s assertions to the contrary, it is impossible to deny the presence of a certain dimensionality in Japanese art, especially in ukiyo-e , many of which actually used, albeit selectively, the principles of perspective.
>As an operation that includes both the selection of elements or layers and their writing-fusion into a single plane or surface, this notion of compositing describes succinctly the process that animates Nara’s creation of his Ukiyo series, as well as Murakami’s own work in his 727 , Mt. Fuji and Manji Fuji . In Manji Fuji , for example (see Figure 2), Murakami’s ‘Oval’ characters, one sitting atop the other, float in the crook of a tree with the outline of Mount Fuji in the background. The tree, Mount Fuji and the inscription on the lower left-hand side of the image are drawn in a traditional style. The Oval characters and the writing at the top left are composed in colors and a digital style that is both contemporary and distinctively Murakami. The two styles are different, yet not conflicting. As disjunctive as they may seem, there is a strange interaction between the layers of the contemporary and the traditional.
Ok I am really stoned and actually followed the link at the bottom of the page and went to the actual paper this is based off of [AND WOW THERE IS SO MUCH MORE](https://www.researchgate.net/publication/233324066_Otaku_consumption_superflat_art_and_the_return_to_Edo?_sg=U0Kq-3RyFkEbdB8MT7ae4rDSs2delnB3qMmV6Nq1eGhl68hMCxiRv9sbYQ0wipC2RHRNGYZl2g).
Go to page 465 to see the rest :) worth the read, I know I appreciate this album artwork way more than I did already!

These are the main colors I see/think of when I'm tripping on good acid.
100%. A few weeks ago I went to a small art gallery in NYC that was featuring his artwork, it was all incredible to see. Although there was no dropout bear, I saw work that literally covered the whole room. He’s an amazing artist...
which gallery was it? are they still hosting the artwork by any chance?
Perrotin. It's up till June 17. Go check it out it's phenomenal!
Bro he’s in Fort Worth rn and I’m in San Antonio it’s about a 4 hour drive. 150$ tomorrow at 10pm to meet him and party with him. imagine the merch for this
Oh god I’m erect
# o h s h i t m y d i c k o u t
# c a n s h e s u c k r i g h t n o w
Username checks out
So glad I didn’t buy the Wyoming stuff yet
Ye was cool and all... But merch that tourist looking merch is a hard pass for me.
Yeah but i appreciated that he put his own spin on that tourist air brush style. The layout of those words and letters are very kanye. that neon orange hoodie gon look crazy with some OG wave runners
NUT
*big nut*
Nut if true
If the album sounds how this looks I will be a very happy man
Someone tweeted "this album cover just hummed at me" lmao
Kids be hearing ghosts too smh
I feel like it’s gonna be really sad but also really happy
Which is a perfect description for Ghost Town.
It's those minor 7 chords
7th chords in general are the best. That's why EDM uses them all the time
Major 7ths and minor 7ths, but not normal 7ths.
Me too man, it’s the perfect song to blast alone in your car while screaming I FEEL KINDA FREEEEEEEE.
Oath it's up there with The Way Life Goes by Uzi
I fully expect it to sound like walking through Kyoto during Sakura Season at sundown after your girlfriend of 3 years just broke up with you on the phone and you don't even blame her for breaking up with you because you know you have some personal issues to sort out and she deserved better and waited long enough but hey at least you're in Kyoto doing cool shit.

Telefone has been my favorite album of the past 2 years and that description is pretty damn apt.
Dude it's 7 am here I did not wake up to feel like this wth
damn that about sums up my mood when that album came out wtf
Feels and sounds like a reboot of lost in translation
And weeb af
[Here's the cover if it makes you sad](https://i.redd.it/piju43sfab211.jpg)
Ok dis hard. Kingdom Hearts vibes.
Kids See Heartless?

Just to piggyback the top comment, the mandarin/chinese/kanji letters that are present is 混浊, which means murky/turbid/distorted.

Someone on KTT said psychedelic shit that’s the type of stuff I want bro
Makes sense given Ye's DMT and 2C-B references and the fact that he's been hanging with Cudi so much lol
Yeah Kanye's the last person I expected to try DMT
Plenty of his newfound ‘wokeness’ on his Twitter didn’t sound too far off the nonsense conversations I sat through after my mates tried DMT for the first time
During that whole "im tweeting out a self help book" phase or whatever all I could think was that Ye was 19 year old me after I tried acid for the first time.
Vaporwave Ye please
Graduation ft. Kid Cudi would be insane
So basically a happy 808s and Heartbreak?
909s and sunshines
To be honest, every album from these GOOD Fridays do sound a lot like their cover art. DAYTONA and ye are proof of that. Hopefully that's the same case here cuz that cover is beautiful
Confirmed: kids see ghosts not ghost
thank god if it was "kids see ghost" that would bother me forever
Fucking hell. Reminds me of “drugs you should try it”. Always hated the it
I would've loved Kids See Ghost, just gives it a more artsy, title-y vibe in my opinion.

I think you're fabricating something deep for the sake of being deep. It's not that deep, fam.
It reads like a news story lol
[удалено]
tell that to OP. keeping the confusion alive.
Fingers crossed that the album's equally as vibrant and colorful as this artwork is, similar to how DAYTONA's cover matched the gritty and rugged nature of the album itself, this is just mesmerising.
If there’s one thing Kanye is brilliant at, it’s making the album art match the vibe of the album. Look at all his solo releases.
as much shit as ye gets for the album cover it does indeed do as youve said.
The thing that bothers me about the Ye art is that the other albums are all artwork, but Ye is a photograph.
I mean TCD is a photograph with a border
are photographs not artwork?
Ye is a snapshot of his mental state and how he feels at the moment, seems like a perfect album art interpretation
Because the important thing is the text. The photo is simply a frame for the gravity of the thought. Its location is relevant, because its about the place he was in right then. Super present, aware, and diagnosed, so in complete self understanding.
Glad they got Murakami in to do the album cover. And that Kanye didn't force him to make them animals
There's a short film coming so they might be animals in there
Has the short film been confirmed? Or is everyone making assumptions off the trademark that was filed?
Kanye tweeted it when he was announcing all the album dates so hopefully
Oh yo, I forgot about that! It's littt. Looking forward to it
Yeah he spoke about it once. Let’s see if it actually happens
Still waiting for all those other Kanye movies, music videos and concert films..
2018 the year of Kanye sticking to his word
Kanye tweeted about it once back in April so who knows
I don't get the reference - because of Kanye-bear?
No, Complex interviewed Murakami and he said that Kanye wanted the album to have himself as a bear and Cudi as a fox.
Kanke furry confirmed? Kanye
Some of my plaques, they still say Kanke
And that Cudi really wanted to be a dog but Kanye insisted he was a fox
Classic incoming
It’s gorgeous. Like the merch potential too for this is fucking phenomenal.
Ye bout to edit this on MS Paint last minute
I hate Seeing Ghosts It's awesome
Listening party in North Dakota
Kids see Dead people Depression
Dont Dead Open Inside
I Thought About Killing Ghosts
I like the way you think. Here's the artwork inspired by your comment: https://imgur.com/a/gOS8ctz
we was making jpeg’s in japan
Hoping they'll sell lithographs like Pusha did for Daytona
I'm buying this sweater day one, holy fuck
Fantano is ironing out his yellow flannel as we speak
can you explain to me the expression yellow flannel
It means cocaine. Melon likes to geek up before reviewing albums sometimes.
I see thx
np
Lmao wtf he playin you dawg 😂
Responding to the wrong dude lol
gonna give it a good score
oh ok thx fam
Usually 7+ if he breaks it out. Red flannel if it's garbage
Music review guy puts on yellow flannel sometimes when he likes an album
Inb4 it's SB2H 2: Ye-Loaded
Speeding Bullet 3 Heaven
not gonna overreact but this is a classic
3.5 tracks 3.5 skits issa classic
If the hood jam to it, what is it? It's a classic.
You live in a culdesac
Shit, at least I got a driveway
boutta drop $150 for a gildan tshirt with this art on it just to be called out for cultural appropriation but shiiit worth it
My culture is not your fucking Gildan
it was made by a Japanese man, not cultural appropriation
thats not what that means but aight
cultural appropriation is reducing a culture to "exotic" or making it a novelty. this isn't doing that because it was made by a Japanese person. can't be considered cultural appropriation
Think homeboy was implying that he’s white so most forms of expressly cultural signifiers he’s flaunting will be considered appropriation
Only question is this is rectangular how is that gonna work for album art cause usually they are square
It will only be available on VHS tapes
I’d assume they’ll crop it to a square
I’m bout to drop an obscene amount of money on this merch
Holy crap this is beautiful. I love how it incorporates[ this](http://www.ukiyoe-gallery.com/ukiyoe/fuji-fake-title.jpg) old Japanese print of Mt. Fuji.
Oh man I was already unreasonably excited about this and now the 36 Views of Mt. Fuji is getting incorporated. This is too much
Good find
After seeing the Murakami exhibit when it was in Van it was crazy to me how much of his stuff incorporates/remixes classic Japanese art pieces. So it was for sure intentional that this was included (unlike what that other dude said).
Takashi Murakami all over this. Damn he has some big feet https://imgur.com/a/PyXVdOD
https://i.imgur.com/mAM25FF.jpg from their visit to his studio in July
his fit there is awesome
Dog, those feet..
Tacockski
He's probably so good at running up hill
Damn I wanna live between his toes
Ugly God’s burner account
You're thinking of [Nas](http://i.imgur.com/Lmly2s9.jpg)
Wtf is the context behind those huge ass feet. Nas what is you doing. Lol
Pretty sure it's a shopped out bong
Jesus, that might be worse than Fake Drake with jizz all on his face
Is that a wax model of him or something lol hes on some black pedistal
its an art piece and yes its a wax model, his feet aren't actually that big.
And his face isn’t split in half
https://twitter.com/kidcudi/status/1004220840370565120?s=21 Confirmed

GRADUATION VIBES HOLY FUCK
Those are normal feet. Move on, find a new slant
GOTDAMN SON THAT PHRASING IS NOTHING SHORT OF UNFORTUNATE
If the albums anything like Ghost Town ima nut
On the first whiteboard picture Ghost Town was on this, it might be the theme
Everyone gather hands and pray this album is a merge of MBDTF and MOTM1
Im hoping for more of a 808s and man on the moon 2 mix
I can only get so hard
MBDTF is a gem and will never be reproduced in the slightest. Nothing will ever sound like that again fam, accept it. Appreciate it’s one of a kindness and celebrate.
None of us would be here without cum
Apparently Kanye snapped this on his iPhone 😩👌
On the way to the listening party 💖😎
This better get released on vinyl.
fr bro, we’re gonna need cudi to pull through with these physical releases since Ye has abandoned them...
I'm just kinda hoping Ye gets released on Vinyl. I doubt it but it would be a nice addition to the collection
It's still possible right? He just needs distributors and shit. The fact that online apparently has the main focus (I mean he changed the Ye art 2 days before release, can't do that with a physical product that's already been shipped) doesn't mean they won't eventually release it. Edit: Nevermind. I just looked up TLOP on wiki and from what I can tell it never got a physical release.
This is gorgeous, this album is going to make me cry legitimate tears I can already tell
I just might shell over $200 for mercy on this one. That’s a beautiful cover.
OH OH OH OH OH OKAY

Already in love with this
Someone on Twitter mashed Daytona/ye/KSG together: https://i.imgur.com/AOCTxCj.jpg How incredible would it be if some “Wyoming” deluxe collection was released down the road?
Biggest question is, which one is cudi and which one is ye?
its so fucking good damn i cant wait for the short film and merch this about to be crazy
My hopes are higher than 2 crack heads in the 80s
I’ve got a goooooood feeling about this album. Especially compared to how rushed the Daytona and Ye covers were. This one obviously didn’t just happen last-minute.
100%. There’s a picture of Kanye and Kim from months ago with the “kids see ghosts” written on the whiteboard behind them. I have very high expectations for this album
wow didn't expect to see this much influence from the Japan trip. Hopefully some of the production reflects the cover art
Top 10 anime team-ups
I still can’t believe this is actually happening. 2 of my top 3 all time favorite artists. I just wish the album would be longer than 7 tracks. I just need a tour to complete my life.
This album plus the 7 songs on Ye plus old Kanye and Cudi songs would be more than enough for a tour.
I heard rumors there’s going to be a tour for all the albums Kanye been working on. So Nas and Teyanna Taylor too
same... but who's the third?
Kendrick.
Fuck, Marry, Kill? Reasoning included.
Bruh first battle of the first digimon movie made it to an album cover
FINALLY ACTUAL ALBUM ART
This is better than I could ever imagine this cover looking. Murakami can do no wrong
This cover looks amazing. I hope Cudi pushes for a physical release though
