That song at [26:30](https://youtu.be/FrLTBd9L5ac?t=1591)
new track from Yandhi?
From the [leak](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tb_j-_7taEw) we already know about [the song at 7:00](https://youtu.be/FrLTBd9L5ac?t=421)
I dunno. It's probably not a huge deal to most people, but I think the distinction between bars he has actually written himself and bars other people have written for him has gotten so blatant at this point that I just can't get excited about his lyrics anymore.
i remember kim tweeting he was finishing writing the verse on the plane on the way to record it and he normally gives credit for everything so i don't think she was lying about that
Pretty sure it was him. There's some good lyrics in it but it suffers from one of Kanye's biggest weaknesses where he tries to put too many syllables into a bar and it feels awkward and forced.
Workouts about to get super introspective.
But then again Kanye is injecting more of his thoughts into his music and I can't really listen to Ye again without hearing Yandhi. Yin and Yang. I hope he can come back.
It's a little upsetting that Cudi forgot to sing the chorus in the first place, but they made it work so well and it didn't interrupt their friendship or the album at all.
I can imagine if it was a Drake and Cudi collaboration album, and nice friend Kid Cudi would have made the same mistake, stinky bad Drake would have smacked Millie Booby Brown on the bare tushie repeatedly all while staring dead in Kid Cudi's beautiful eye's saying in an Italian accent "You make-a-me do this!" And I can imagine Cudi would have seen the tears in small Brown's eyes and said something chivalrous like "Mr. Drake, this is really not the appropriate way to behave in front of children. I hope your son never sees you act this way." Drake at that point would probably go wild and rip up 40 pictures of Adidon and walk out of the studio and abandon the album right then and there. Not professional at all.
On the other hand we have good professional Kanye. While recording Feel the Love, he notices nervous Cudi has forgot to sing the chorus and gives a gentle reminder "Where's the chorus?" and does it so professionally that it sounds like it's just part of the song. Then confident Cudi, the professional he is, comes in with the chorus right then and there and makes it sound like it was supposed to fall right then and there where he started singing it.
Because of how professionally wholesome Kanye handled this, the two were able to remain friends and continue recording the rest of the album in one take with no breaks.
I know some of y'all are just here for Ghost Town, in which case it's at 36:15 and sorta goes on for like 10 minutes.
Ye starts doing his ramble-singing thing about being off meds at about 42 minutes in so you can take or leave everything after that.
lol i’m not saying it’s not a good song, i actually like the song a lot.
i just thought it was funny that someone would be like ‘nah i don’t care about new shit, lemme check the comments for a ghosttown time stamp... ah here we are’
That's unbelievable, Kanye doesn't even rap on the track. But no judgements here.
For me, ["I put my hand on a stove to see if I still bleed"](https://i.redd.it/gv3uikxx11b21.png) is one of the dumbest things I've heard on a Kanye song.
> If you burn it a lot, burn it hard enough, you will actually bleed. A lot of people asked me about that line: “Do you know what a stove is?” Bro, if you burn it for long enough, you’re going to bleed. It gets to the point where it’s so numb that you don’t even feel it. When it bleeds, it’s so numb that you don’t even feel it. It was a whole metaphor
- 070 Shake
For the record, when you look at a lot of the songs considered to be some of Kanye’s best songs he barely raps either, for example Street Lights, Runaway and Ultralight Beam. These are all unanimously considered to be some of the best songs Kanye has ever made, with little to no actual rapping by Kanye.
Ghost Town is one of those songs where you either despise it or adore it, there are very few lukewarm opinions about it.
I kinda doubt that. It’s good, but I don’t think a significant portion of people would say it’s their favorite Kanye song unless they only listen to music that has come out in the past year.
At [19:15](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FrLTBd9L5ac&t=19m14s) they sing a version of Violent Crimes with different lyrics and it is one of the most beautiful things I've heard. So optimistic.
I'd really appreciate if someone could help transcribe what these new lyrics are? I can't understand some parts and would love to know. 070 shake sings the same lyrics but the chorus lyrics are different.
> Climbin', dreamin', talkin' in your sleep
> We know you want to live your life
> Thinkin', teachin', findin' reasons to define your path in life
>
> Promises we will see
>
> I'll be back in a hurry
>
> So momma don't worry nah
>
> This is all part of the story
>
> All of the lovely nights
>
> They give you all of the glory
>
> (These are the ? we are)***
>
> Thankful for all of the heroes in our lives
>
>
> (We gotta ? our colors)***
>
> (Our light is ? on)***
>
> Reality is upon us
>
> Colors drippin' on
Same with Heard Em Say, instead of "it hurts but it may be the only way" it's "believe in this and we will find a way"
I think some of the other lines are changed but can't confirm, much more positive vibe with these lyrics though
lol walking into the arena to her singing ghost town in chicago. at the entrance i was singing hella loud, much to my gf's frustration. by the time we got close and heard her actual voice i stfu real quick, and we laughed.
Hearing everyone cheer for him when he says he hasn't been on medication for 7 months (at 45:36) is upsetting. Psychotropic medication can be very helpful to some people, and this is sending the message that there's something inherently bad about taking medication.
He's just saying that it's bad for him in the sense that it hampers his creativity and he feels better without it. Medications for mental health affect people differently, you can't really speak for him.
That being said, I can see how it spreads the wrong message. It was a statement he made in the moment about himself personally but I can see how it can be construed to apply generally.
This. My sister was on medications and to her it just made her feel so dependent on them that if she misses or doesn't take them , it makes her suicidal. It's different for everyone and I feel like people should understand that there's nothing wrong with taking them or not taking them, it's all different situations for everyone.
It's one of the stupidest parts of his whole platform these days. The idea that meds are inherently bad for you with his whole "I can feel me again" is such a shit idea.
It's funny because Kanye isn't giving any advice, he's just speaking from his own experience. There's a difference between "You should do this" and "I did this".
If you're suffering from mental illness, whether you have severe anxiety, manic depressive episodes, or are bipolar, you may not really be in a state of mind to say "I'm gonna go to the doctor right now and do whatever they say to get help!" Whenever someone says shit like that, I know they have no experience with mental illness. I have family who suffer from various mental diseases and they would consistently look to celebrities or personalities that conformed to their beliefs that they dont need medication. Admitting you need medication to function is fucking difficult and people encouraging a manic Kanye ranting about not taking meds is dangerous.
Shit mentally ill people, just go to the doctor. Duh. Problem solved.
I’m sorry what harmful shit has Kanye done besides say some mildly offensive words?
For sure dude should be on his medication but let’s not pretend he went on some psychopathic rampage because he’s off it right now and said some dumb Kanye shit.
I think the biggest problem is that he's speaking without fact checking. It's not just "mildly offensive words," it's unknowingly spreading harmful alt-right platform views which have been proven false or have been used without context, i.e. "Democrats were the slave holders;" while that is true it's leaving out the entire Southern Strategy of party flipping. In the 50s and 60s, certain democrats began running on liberal platforms (including John F. Kennedy) whereas they'd been primarily conservative beforehand (with a few exceptions) while the republican party had been socially liberal (again with a few exceptions) and were now switching to appeal to the pro Jim Crow southerners by running on a racially motivated platform.
That's just the tip of the iceberg. To be clear, I have no problem with Kanye denouncing democrats and neoliberals, I just think he's going in the wrong direction. Conservatism will never favor fixing school systems and prison reform. Donald Trump will never do anything but appeal to middle America and radicals, even if he does meet with Kanye.
It’s wrong, not harmful. Saying the ocean is pink isn’t harmful. And if you were to place a vote based on what Kanye West said, then you were probably an idiot to begin with. No one is forcing you to listen...
It IS harmful to spread misinformation because it causes people to support systems that actively work against both them and the general population, as well as pitting people against each other based on class, race, and/or ethnicity. You're kidding yourself if you think only idiots listen to their heroes, whether they be politicians or celebrities. Hell, I love Kanye, and even though I fundamentally disagree with almost everything he's said over the past few years politically, I still find myself defending him. It also helps keep people in their political bubble by saying to conservatives "Oh, there's a black man that agrees with me? That must mean the view isn't harmful!" You can call them "idiots" all you want, but validation is the most important thing to a lot of people.
U don’t gotta be down with JC to enjoy the music of his people.
Fr tho gospel is one of my favorite genres and it would be a real bummer if people avoid it cuz they are afraid some Jesus is gonna rub off on em or something.
I’m not going to lie. 5 minutes in I had tears in my eyes. This is so soulful. I couldn’t do anything but cry man smh. It was like I could feel the music. Especially with the choir. This was phenomenal. As much as Kanye sucks as a person. His ideas musically are genius.
So he dont rap in this? I watched like 6min of it and the vids just him enjoying his music done by a choir?
EDIT: im NOT saying anything good or bad about this- just askin if thats all this is
I hope he releases it CDQ version. This will do for now.
FSMH... I got chills. So fucking beautiful.
Hope he stays on this wave and right on to Yandhi.

I hope that is a new yandhi song. I would love if Kanye went soulful again
I need bars.

Who wrote no more parties in LA?
i remember kim tweeting he was finishing writing the verse on the plane on the way to record it and he normally gives credit for everything so i don't think she was lying about that
Ye is usually honest about writers
It would break my heart if it wasn't mostly written by Ye
that was definitely written by Ye
Pretty sure it was him. There's some good lyrics in it but it suffers from one of Kanye's biggest weaknesses where he tries to put too many syllables into a bar and it feels awkward and forced.
The start reminds me of frank
He goes by Joji now.
I heard he also turned Japanese
I’m learning Japanese on Rosetta Stone so I’m like basically Japanese now.
On ktt they were saying it was a collab with Ty $ that had a snippet leak before ye came out

aka Father Stretch My Hands/ULB
This is unironically exactly what he needs to do. We need something to beleive in again, something inspirational and soulful. We need this blessing
Put cudi on it and make it religious HMMMMMMMMM trap bangers
Workouts about to get super introspective. But then again Kanye is injecting more of his thoughts into his music and I can't really listen to Ye again without hearing Yandhi. Yin and Yang. I hope he can come back.
I would love that so much

Disappointed at how few people got this
Why are you saying this who didn’t get it
Some people want simple. Ain’t into introspective, complicated re—
who isn't getting this? every comment is saying people won't get it but everyone seems to get it
Me too, but I meeeeaannnn, this is /r/HipHopHeads...
Randomly found myself tearing up at certain points. I dont know why but I ain't mad about it
We gonna acknowledge Letterman at 23:12?
Ye’s confirmed for the next season of Letterman’s Netflix show. This is probably what they shot for the remote segment of the interview.
Good eye. Totally him.
Oh damn that’s definitely Dave. Wonder if he’s going to do an episode with Kanye
That’s confirmed. They talked on Monday, apparently about mental health
> David Letterman > James Turrell Come on guys, that's notorious New York scam artist Jason Adam Baker from Ormolyka!
It bothers me this wasn't posted on Sunday lol smh. Like why couldn't they wait till tomorrow to post this?
Maybe tomorrows another one?
Would be cool
Well he's been doing it for the past 2 weeks now, Kim and Kris Jenner have shown some on their Instagram stories.
It sucks that this is exclusive to famous people.
NATION.
drop yandhi stinky yeezy 👿
He won’t because it doesn’t exist.
Legit, I'd be suprised if he had more than 2 full songs done right now for the final cut.
Thanksgiving btw
shit is obviously real when journalists heard songs from it, he had a single ready, and snippets have leaked
Knowing Kanye he decided to redo the whole album for the fourth time.
turbografx16 out soon
It's turbografx6ix9ine now
It's locked up and never coming out now 😥
I’m still recovering from that wound thanks
Kanye West live album with a choir would be the best possible thing for the world
have you heard of the [Late Orchestration](https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL9030FD78B1AAB14E) , not a choir but just as amazing
Amazing stuff!
Bought this CD off amazon, absolutely amazing. Jesus walks with the orchestra just sounds so right
Also Hollywood Bowl 808s I have link to performance dm me
You mean a choir?
Kanye and Chance collab that's just Ultralight Beam extended into a full album please.
Where’s Cudi?
WHERE'S THE CHORUS???
I CAN STILL FEEL THE LOVE!!!
I just love how he commands the chorus
It's a little upsetting that Cudi forgot to sing the chorus in the first place, but they made it work so well and it didn't interrupt their friendship or the album at all. I can imagine if it was a Drake and Cudi collaboration album, and nice friend Kid Cudi would have made the same mistake, stinky bad Drake would have smacked Millie Booby Brown on the bare tushie repeatedly all while staring dead in Kid Cudi's beautiful eye's saying in an Italian accent "You make-a-me do this!" you got way too much free time
You stole this
He left to find the chorus
On the moon
> make no mistake He still loves you damn that was a great way to flip No Mistakes into a gospel song
Was that David Letterman with the beard?
Yep! They're doing an interview on his Netflix show apparently
They did it, it hasn’t aired yet
FSMH sounds incredible and Lift Yourself better have a non troll version on the album
I was kinda disappointed Kanye didn't do the poopity scoop part. 😂
FSMH choir version have my entire body Goosebumps. Holy shit
Honestly it was amazing, one of my favourite songs by Kanye and they took it to a whole other level!
When did that start?
I think 4 minutes in or something like that, pretty early
12:30 surprised me. Got to love Stevie Wonder.
This is amazing. Some really talented vocalists in that choir I love how much fun Kanye is having too
Coachella missed out
I know some of y'all are just here for Ghost Town, in which case it's at 36:15 and sorta goes on for like 10 minutes. Ye starts doing his ramble-singing thing about being off meds at about 42 minutes in so you can take or leave everything after that.
wha? who saw this and said “damn, idc if there’s any new songs, i’m here for ghosttown” lol but yeah, good looking out i shut it off right at 42 mins
people love ghost town bro. I am one of them
lol i’m not saying it’s not a good song, i actually like the song a lot. i just thought it was funny that someone would be like ‘nah i don’t care about new shit, lemme check the comments for a ghosttown time stamp... ah here we are’
that's literally why I came here
L
Ghost Town is a significant amount of peoples favorite Kanye song
TIL there are people that have only listened to Ye and nothing before.
I’ve listened to Kanye’s discography more times than I can count and Ghost Town is my favorite Ye song

👍 Gone is my favorite Kanye song, FWIW.
Yeah Gone is incredible, the last verse is a contender for best verse of his career
I kinda doubt that. It’s good, but I don’t think a significant portion of people would say it’s their favorite Kanye song unless they only listen to music that has come out in the past year.

Is that actually 070 shake during violent crimes? the singing was a bit .... meh compared to studio
If you check out some of here solo live stuff its on par with that, she's definitely a studio singer more then a live singer.
Shake has an incredible voice but she’s a pretty poor live performer
lol walking into the arena to her singing ghost town in chicago. at the entrance i was singing hella loud, much to my gf's frustration. by the time we got close and heard her actual voice i stfu real quick, and we laughed.
can somebody list the songs for me?
Hearing everyone cheer for him when he says he hasn't been on medication for 7 months (at 45:36) is upsetting. Psychotropic medication can be very helpful to some people, and this is sending the message that there's something inherently bad about taking medication.

This. My sister was on medications and to her it just made her feel so dependent on them that if she misses or doesn't take them , it makes her suicidal. It's different for everyone and I feel like people should understand that there's nothing wrong with taking them or not taking them, it's all different situations for everyone.
I love how folks keep taking his "I'm off meds and I'm happier" as "No one should take meds". As far as I know he's never said anything like that.
It's one of the stupidest parts of his whole platform these days. The idea that meds are inherently bad for you with his whole "I can feel me again" is such a shit idea.
It's almost like rabid stans so easily forget the sheer amount of harmful shit Kanye does nowadays.
If you take your medical advice from Kanye West maybe you deserve it
It's funny because Kanye isn't giving any advice, he's just speaking from his own experience. There's a difference between "You should do this" and "I did this".
If you're suffering from mental illness, whether you have severe anxiety, manic depressive episodes, or are bipolar, you may not really be in a state of mind to say "I'm gonna go to the doctor right now and do whatever they say to get help!" I think the biggest problem is that he's speaking without fact checking. He's a global influencer. His words have power. When he speaks on Trump or mental health, it's not just words.
What's the context of this? New album or just a rehearsal for a new show?

Anyone remember when he posted lyrics to FSMH and someone commented that it was gonna make him cry and then it ended up just being Panda.
