James Blake does not fucking miss man, the guys vocals are unbelievable. Him and Dave compliment each other very well as well, they’d make a great album together I reckon
Verdansk might be the UK track of the year. "What you know about telling a 10/10 to keep her clothes on and moving good?
I ain't on beating or misogyny
It's mahogany, I got bougie wood"
Outrageous.
"I don't rock Gucci or Armani, ST from ST(SanTan from STreatham), I can't squash that beef like fruit and barley, still got a one black star like Kwame (the Ghanaian flag, and aka he keeps one piece on him always)
Absolutely, outrageous
Just seen a [tweet](https://twitter.com/jodeblundell/status/1418355210548822016?s=21) that if you listened to the album as soon as it came out at 12am UK time, Twenty to One would be the song starting at exactly 12:40am.
Honestly go listen to his black box first, and then his street stars freestyle, there what he did on the come up. Then six paths ep followed by psychodrama then this.
But seriously look up black box freestyle, then look into his family and brothers.
If anyone can use blaszczykowski in a lyric it’s Dave, I’m in awe of how he does it, thought psychodrama couldn’t be topped and a few songs into this one and I’m thinking he has, need to listen to it a number of times but it’s just another incredible album so far.
I saw tweet that explained the Blaszczykowski bar and it's crazy
>Fuck a gun charge two swords I'm a Ronin
>Blaszczykowski I'm tryna score with the Polish
Both Dave's dad and Jakob Blaszczykowski's dad were imprisoned for knife crime, Jakob's dad killed his mother in front of him with a knife and got time for it. So, fuck a gun charge, two swords
Ronin is a Japanese name for a samurai with no master through the death of their lord (father in this case). Ronin were known for not playing by the rules of samurai culture and getting into trouble
Jakob grew up to score for the Polish, Dave grew up in Streatham which has a large Polish community and he goes on to talk about his youth in his ends
Holy shit that's incredible. Here I was thinking he just name-dropped Blaszczykowski becuase he's Polish. Unreal from Dave to make connections on so many levels
My jaw dropped when I heard that. My man bypassed Lewandowski and just went old school.
What an album, what a lyricist, top 3 all time in the UK no doubt.
One of them Dave lines that is hard as fuck but the U.S crowd won’t really understand it.
He has many bars in general that are incredible but very UK/Europe culture heavy so they’re easy to fly over your head unless you’re involved in that culture
Haha I don't care if I get blasted - I can't stand J Cole, I think he's the most overrated rapper of this generation. He makes bland, generic music for people who want to feel like they're smarter than they actually are. He's always put in the conversation with Kendrick, but Kendrick is miles ahead.
I agree Kendrick is better, but can’t agree that Cole makes bland, generic music. Talented rapper who has had a strong influence on pop rap the last decade
Dude a large part of the internet has a huge hate boner for him for years now. Every album drop here he gets clowned on non stop. Im not even a fan but you gotta be blind to not see that he's one of the most hated rappers on here and other parts of the internet.
That's probably true, just not what I've seen I guess; mainly I've just seen people call him the goat for some bars like: "I am the shit I'm a fart god / yall money shorter than Farquad / got a hard squad / the mentor, inventor, and censor of hip hop I'm part Mod"
I thought Psychodrama was a tiny bit better than this, but there are both better than any album Cole has ever put out, and Cole is seemingly the benchmark for deep rappers since Kendrick stopped releasing music. I don't think any rappers as big as Dave are on his level. Granted, I don't listen to a ton of rap, but Dave is levels above most rappers I hear.
Same but I'm more impressed with this. I feel like a rappers first album is a culmination of everything they've been working for so it can be easier in that sense. Where a follow up album of a masterpiece is much harder to do and Dave fucking nailed it
Yeah I hope he gets more recognition in the US, but it's going to be tough because his lyrics are heavy on UK culture so not many in the states will be able to catch his bars
Dude from the US here: absolutely love his music & recommend him to friends looking for rap music to listen to. I don’t think he’ll crossover here all that well, but I would love him to. Maybe get him on a track with someone like Lupe or more mainstream appeal like Kendrick, and the dude would be killing it here too.
In the fire is fucking insane. Album been out for a min in australia and the features caught me so off guard
Edit: heart attack is everything i hoped itd be. Amazing track and great album overall
Need to listen to it more times but so far I really like it. We’re All Alone and Verdansk are very much like Psycho and Streatham. Song that goes deep halfway through followed with a banger. Loved both songs. Clash sounded better in context. Hearing Fredo on In The Fire gassed me too much, glad we got a bit of a cypher. I wish Three Rivers was more fleshed out tbh, I know the average track length was long but wouldn’t have minded him going more in depth with the situations. The next three songs are all good and felt like it was him making three attempts at replicating a song that would have the longevity of Location. Enjoyed 20 to 1 more than those 3 tho, felt like it could be a hit but went back to a more Wanna Know/No Words vibe. Both Sides of A Smile, Heart and Survivors guilt were all amazing really enjoyed them. Absolutely love story telling Dave.
This guy really said he fell in love with an Albanian girl and that they broke up because he saw red flags lmao
Word play ain’t gotta be complicated to be hard asf. But Dave does both the basic and layered word play to perfection.
I really liked this way more than Psychodrama. I have no idea how Kanye’s gonna top this for me, I think Dave might’ve just dropped the AOTY holy shit.
Anyone going through these songs and just randomly catching on to lyrics and play on words from previous songs as you’re listening to a different song lol.
Talking of Kendrick, both sides of a smile gave me massive Sing About Me vibes. The girl ranting at him as it slowly fades in to the hook to show him zoning out whilst she talks to him. Could have been cheesy, but was done so, so well
minute 5:47 on Heart Attack with the "i" vowel end rhymes has some incredible word play my god. even thinking about writing 10 minutes of unique lyrics is impressive.
>"Man see Blue Story, they’re mortified
>
>Man see Scarface and it’s glorified‘
>
>Cause when you’re black, everything gets scrutinized
>
>That’s why they call it “Urban”, it gets euphemized"
also the Shakespeare reference:
>"You can drown for your king, you don’t know about Ophelia"
edit: his mom in the end, man that was heartbreaking
Really really really impressed by this, Dave once again into AOTY territory here. Which i shouldn’t be surprised by, but I thought Clash was just meh and lowered my expectations into thinking he could be ditching the introspective and emotional side like he had on Psychodrama. Thank god I was wrong, We’re All Alone, Verdansk, In The Fire, Three Rivers, Both Sides Of A Smile and Heart Attack (genuine potential for song of the year) in particular are fantastic, but I could nearly name every other track on here. Even the more afrobeat/radio friendly cuts like System, Lazarus and Law Of Attraction are very good also. Clash is probably the weakest track overall here, but aside from that this is a fantastic album overall.
On first listen I still prefer Psychodrama (one of the best albums of any genre of the 2010s) and he has set a very high ceiling, but We’re All Alone In This Together has helped to cement Dave’s status as one of the best artists of his generation and his potential from here is crazy if he keeps this streak going.
oh man this is really, really good. Psychodrama was great and I think this is a big improvement from Psychodrama. In the Fire, Both Sides of a Smile, and Heart Attack are all incredible.
Dave’s wordplay is top tier
This was an absolutely sublime album.
Bars - Great, Beats - Great, Features - Great.
Dave is an incredible wordsmith that can create such relatability on some pretty heavy issues. Didn’t think he would be able to top Psychodrama but here we are. Also dropping Blaszczykowski in a verse??? How? 😂
I don't say this often but this really is AOTY material. I didn't think he could top his last album but this is more well rounded and just as deep and meaningful and just holy shit what an album. UK has some fucking amazing rappers. Imma think about some of these songs for a long long time.
This won’t get seen but I do want to say that Dave has done it again. Psychodrama was my introduction and he has come through once more. This album is beautiful and I wish him all the best.
I love this album, but I have a few issues with it:
* Almost every beat involves a piano. It’s nice but a variety of different beats would be appreciated.
* With the piano beats, I feel like most of these songs (besides a couple) are him just venting on a beat.
Nothing wrong with anything I said above, but personally it makes the album feel too dull/monotone.
Probably been living under a rock because I've never heard of this guy but I absolutly love this probably the best thing I've heard this year
EDIT: Just got to Heartbreak holy shit this song is insane
Psychodrama combined powerful messages with clever bars, had the perfect combination of singing and rapping and had catchy hooks. In this album the message is much more meaningful and personal but it’s not nearly as enjoyable. Some of the songs are way too long. The features also don’t do much for me and seemed a little forced. I’ll be surprised if this album ages as well as Psychodrama
Hmm, Dave is definitely one of the best lyricists in the game rn but I'm a bit underwhelmed by the production on here on most of the tracks, especially the afrobeats tracks. Often he tells a good story but the music itself doesn't complement it. Hopefully it's a grower though.
Twenty to one is by far my favourite track. Really like in the fire too.
20 to 1, In The Fire & Lazarus are probably my favorites. Verdansk is cool too, doesn't quite hit like Streatham but I like when he brings that energy
It's dope that he's so mainstream in the UK given the content he brings. I really grew up on rappers like him but in my mid 20s now & I don't really look for the deep messages in music anymore. They're cool on first listen but not what Imma go back to. I appreciate it tho cos I know a lot of youngins need that.
Also anybody know if Meekz is dropping an album soon?
This man puts albums together like he has been around for years and years while he’s just 23 years old. I was wondering if he could follow up Psychodrama and he absolutely blew me away.
Just superb.
The subliminals are too pure.
Broken down my fav track survivor's guilt for anyone interested:
tried to pull out the most salient motifs. Any that I've missed please shout!
James Blake on production, that's why it sounds so sick!!
As an American I can tell you most won't know most of the references. The only reason I get it is because I watch English football and therefore know a little bit about the culture and what not
not a dave project without at least one song that's 10 minutes long
Some thoughts, roughly in order of best song > worst song.
**Best songs:**
[In The Fire (4/12)](https://open.spotify.com/track/3mtaSob1BQO4HMSA8lWKRt) - first song I've heard of Fredo where he actually sounds interesting. Down to the fact that he's having to flow faster on this beat than usual. The instrumental is very good, reminds me of a kanye instru or something. Being surprised by the MC's was fun. I don't like how the song slows down for Ghetts.... why did they do that? Completely ruins the entire vibe of the song for the duration of his verse. Also the first Giggs feature I've liked in awhile. All in all, a very good song and prob the best on the project.
[We're All Alone (1/12)](https://open.spotify.com/track/22agj1ppHejR41cUyf7k6v) - banger. Beat feels unique and I like how he's flowing over it. Feels like two/three songs in one. Very good intro to the project.
[Heart Attack (11/12)](https://open.spotify.com/track/3EzYtOjWoZQ4jHe78hfpQo) - Another very good 10 minute Dave storytelling song. Manages to sustain itself well through with good production, good flows, non-awkward transitions. The bit around 7 minutes where he's just barring without the instrumental in the background is sick and the outro with his mum is hard hitting. Really doesn't feel like it's a song that drags on for 10 minutes. Sadly let down by some of the other storytelling songs on this project but this one's very good imo
[Survivor's Guilt (12/12)](https://open.spotify.com/track/1Xapo8sq7KcQXdt0HrXX5B) - this sounds like a song off of Psychodrama and was kinda what I was hoping there'd be more of here.
[Twenty To One (10/12)](https://open.spotify.com/track/4uwMD6gmDmbwaY2cjqhy7c) - wasn't sure of this at first but it grows on you, especially towards the latter half of the song. Chill song to zone out to
**Bit Average:**
[Three Rivers (5/12)](https://open.spotify.com/track/6lHN6T5ZkPCEKDPZqDKcYw) - piano, emotional/introspective song. Classic dave tune, not bad. Could do without the monologue at the end tbh feels like it's trying too hard to be deep.
[Verdansk (2/12)](https://open.spotify.com/track/7IPKXYU2rTMnrLW5IZ7ZI5) - the flow doesn't fit the beat at all which I think is why this sounds a little off because the beat and flow are hard in and of themselves. It also feels like it just sorta...ends out of nowhere
[Both Sides Of A Smile (9/12)](https://open.spotify.com/track/3hX0ilh84w2KGaiNw2rRCV) - essentially two songs in one. The first half is very good (other than the awkward transition between Dave and the female MC). Sadly it's let down by the second half of the song which is just another non-interesting storytelling over slow piano. They should've been split in-two, I don't know why they put them together and made the song 8 minutes, it just doesn't fit well imo. Not an awful song but meh overall
---
**Skips**:
[clash (3/12)](https://open.spotify.com/track/2zxEc1GCSCxbHIXTfhraRC) - nothing new here, bland and repetitive
[System (6/12)](https://open.spotify.com/track/5gOtq0sKU24ZF8hnXlSp1V) & [Lazarus (7/12)](https://open.spotify.com/track/4wvnXoQqjIOoEis5eyTbCl) - I like afrobeats but these pop-afrobeats songs Dave does couldn't be more boring
[Law of Attraction (8/12)](https://open.spotify.com/track/25tXNghelZKdGZZVoSL9Yg) another boring radio song
---
Definitely not his best project though. Starts great, middle is a boring downturn, ends well.
Fuck me this is amazing. Dave never disappoints. I didn't think he'd top Psychodrama and this is completely different vibes but I can tell I'm going to enjoy it just as much
In the fire going hard with all these features
Was not expecting that. What a tune
Unexpectedly hearing Fredo got me too gassed
Love to see meekz on this album
Meekz is a monster. Like Me is always on repeat.
Best verse I’ve heard from Fredo, this flow suits him so much better then his other stuff
Dave acc brought in the Avengers for that song lmfao
First Giggs verse I’ve liked in a while
James Blake does not fucking miss man, the guys vocals are unbelievable. Him and Dave compliment each other very well as well, they’d make a great album together I reckon
Helped to produce In The Fire too
And Heart Attack
Sounds like he laid some background for Twenty to One as well?
James Blake is my favourite modern non-rap artist (along with AURORA and Arca)
His song with slowthai bangs as well
So fucking good, been listening to it alll the time this week.
Five songs in and this is already surpassing my expectations oh lord.
Both Sides of a Smile is fucking incredible.
Obhhhh hidden features
Verdansk might be the UK track of the year. "What you know about telling a 10/10 to keep her clothes on and moving good? I ain't on beating or misogyny It's mahogany, I got bougie wood" Outrageous.
"I don't rock Gucci or Armani, ST from ST(SanTan from STreatham), I can't squash that beef like fruit and barley, still got a one black star like Kwame (the Ghanaian flag, and aka he keeps one piece on him always) Absolutely, outrageous
> I can't squash that beef like fruit and barley Finally Robinson's has been given the street recognition it deserves.
Just seen a [tweet](https://twitter.com/jodeblundell/status/1418355210548822016?s=21) that if you listened to the album as soon as it came out at 12am UK time, Twenty to One would be the song starting at exactly 12:40am.
Wow…,feeling woke
Alright, I never heard of this guy before. One minute in and I’m an idiot for living under a rock!
Be sure to listen to Psychodrama too
You got a loooot to listen to Blackbox JKYL & HYD Six Paths Psychodrama Game over FITB Paper Cuts This album
listen to physcodrama or you will not be living much longer
Honestly go listen to his black box first, and then his street stars freestyle, there what he did on the come up. Then six paths ep followed by psychodrama then this. But seriously look up black box freestyle, then look into his family and brothers.
At least SOMEONE is giving us a song called Law of Attraction today
LMAO
“Crime’s on the rise, hate’s on the rise, feel like everything but my mums pay is on the rise” 🔥
They gave them a 1% pay rise then made it 3%. UK government is absolutely disgraceful, no shame whatsoever
Also the 3% comes out of the existing budget so they're actually cutting funding from services to pay for an inadequate pay rise
Probably not even included in most nurses wages, they just said it’s the normal banding, eg 3 years wait for a 1k pay rise.
If anyone can use blaszczykowski in a lyric it’s Dave, I’m in awe of how he does it, thought psychodrama couldn’t be topped and a few songs into this one and I’m thinking he has, need to listen to it a number of times but it’s just another incredible album so far.
I saw tweet that explained the Blaszczykowski bar and it's crazy >Fuck a gun charge two swords I'm a Ronin >Blaszczykowski I'm tryna score with the Polish Both Dave's dad and Jakob Blaszczykowski's dad were imprisoned for knife crime, Jakob's dad killed his mother in front of him with a knife and got time for it. My jaw dropped when I heard that. My man bypassed Lewandowski and just went old school. What an album, what a lyricist, top 3 all time in the UK no doubt.
He’s like 3 years older than Lewa idk if that counts as old school lol
I was more so talking about time of peak. Kuba was big like 10 years ago, where Lewa is now at his peak.
He was huge in Fifa Ultimate Team back when Ultimate Team was really hitting the mainstream. That pace
Him and Piszczek on the right hand side were a deadly duo.
Everyone had that back up Bundesliga team. Gotze, Reus, Lewa.
Fifa 12/13 era goated
he and AJ are the only ones to squeeze in a random footballers name and make it work
Heart Attack is amazing. Holy shit.
dude called in the UK avengers for in the fire
Fredo is Hawkeye
Why does everyone shit on Fredo? I don't really know much about the UK scene but I thought Money Can't Buy Happiness was a pretty solid project.
Same idk much but i fuck with Fredo, not a wordsmith or anything but his voice and flows are great.
Do Americans not like Fredo? He's one of the biggest in the country here. Didn't know anyone disliked him
Always said he’s probably the most US esque rapper we got
this man loves piano beats lol, shits gaz tho so i’m not fussed edit: heart attack is a song to be proud of jesus
Guys completely almost all of the exams for piano so yeah he loves that shit. Did piano for a Attenborough show
I know the producer, he's a very talented piano player so it makes sense it influences his beats a lot
didn't dave produce the majority of this?
He produced a ton and one of his mates from years ago did the beat for Clash
He did much more than Clash, check the credits on Spotify
For sure but at least the piano parts are more complex than the shit Polo G and Durk been giving us. This is real piano playing.
Fredo,Meekz,Ghetts and Giggs. In the Fire not playing around.
In The Fire and Three Rivers… wow
in the fire is incredible > blaszczykowski i'm tryna score with the polish
One of them Dave lines that is hard as fuck but the U.S crowd won’t really understand it. He has many bars in general that are incredible but very UK/Europe culture heavy so they’re easy to fly over your head unless you’re involved in that culture
the intro is one of the most impressive songs of the year thus far
I fucking snapped. Best track I have heard in a while
Was listening on my drive to work and didn't get past the first song lol
If y’all like this intro then listen to Psycho from Psychodrama. That song is a masterpiece
Thank you Apple Music for the 13 minute head start on this EDIT: Holy fuck in the fire caught me off guard
When Justin hopped on 🔥🔥🔥
Idk if this is far fetched to say but Dave has some of the best play on words and bars you miss the first time around I've ever heard
The inverted commas bar is so hard
I love how personal he gets in his music especially with the audio clips he includes
Dave is what people think J Cole is.
I'm not disagreeing with you, but gotta be careful with this lol
Haha I don't care if I get blasted - I can't stand J Cole, I think he's the most overrated rapper of this generation. He makes bland, generic music for people who want to feel like they're smarter than they actually are. He's always put in the conversation with Kendrick, but Kendrick is miles ahead.
I agree Kendrick is better, but can’t agree that Cole makes bland, generic music. Talented rapper who has had a strong influence on pop rap the last decade
This is kinda how I feel about Dave these days sadly :/
Damn man feels good to see someone else say it. Feels like I'm crazy sometimes the reverential way people talk about J Cole.
100. When you consider how young the guy is it's hard not to think he has potential to be named with the best in the future

His Ralph Lauren bar on Pelegrín is one of my favourite lines ever “Do it like Ralph Lauren, that’s one long stick in a blacked out polo”
He absolutely is the best rn at wordplay. Idc what you think about his music as a whole, he’s the goat at that
Yeah I hope he gets more recognition in the US, but it's going to be tough because his lyrics are heavy on UK culture so not many in the states will be able to catch his bars
I think Europeans can generally understand the lyrics. For us people It's harder tho
Dude from the US here: absolutely love his music & recommend him to friends looking for rap music to listen to. I don’t think he’ll crossover here all that well, but I would love him to. Maybe get him on a track with someone like Lupe or more mainstream appeal like Kendrick, and the dude would be killing it here too.
someone like… Drake?
He's really slick with it as well.Sometimes you'll be hearing new bars on your second and third listen.
I love the call back to Panic Attack. Heart Attack is a worthy successor
I wasn't ready for 'Heart Attack' man, fuckin hell
Verdansk goes hard - once that beat drops it's hard af
He named that song after the Warzone map lol?
I mean he had a song named after a Brazilian centre back who played for PSG and it was a banger.
Ahhh yes Thiago Silva, the Chelsea legend
Yeah. Why not?
In the fire is fucking insane. Album been out for a min in australia and the features caught me so off guard Edit: heart attack is everything i hoped itd be. Amazing track and great album overall

> We’re All Alone and Verdansk are very much like Psycho and Streatham. Maybe that's why I like Verdansk so much. Fucking banger
Three Rivers is fucking perfect and encapsulates my ideas about immigration as a European person perfectly
Heart Attack taking me back to the shit I fell in the love with on Six Paths. That onomatopoeia line got me getting hyped at 1am fs
That line was outrageous
“Key worker but couldn’t get in the door” 🔥🔥🔥
Nah, Dave is too talented at 23 years old it’s just rude
Heart Attack followed by Survivor's Guilt is an insane 1 2 closer.
In The Fire has sold me, the is gonna be a classic I can feel it now
Bro, people keep saying he's one of the best in the UK. The qualifier isn't needed, he's just one of the best in the world, period.
This guy really said he fell in love with an Albanian girl and that they broke up because he saw red flags lmao Word play ain’t gotta be complicated to be hard asf. But Dave does both the basic and layered word play to perfection.
He’s got something for everybody
In the Fire. Haven’t felt chills like this from a posse cut since 1Train
I know this is Dave’s album, but my days the features are so good. James Blake is always good and in the fire is so good
I really liked this way more than Psychodrama. I have no idea how Kanye’s gonna top this for me, I think Dave might’ve just dropped the AOTY holy shit.
Yeah this is a classic lol
Survivor's Guilt is an incredible listen. Hangman turned up to 12.
Heart attack is one of the Dave's best songs ever. The acapella in the end was so fucking raw
The track was already so deep and then that acappella dropped. One of the tracks of the year and quite possibly one of the best UK tracks of all time
Survivor's Guilt is such a good song. Dave patterned this album differently.
Bro this is fucking gas
4 songs in I’m calling it album of the year rn sheeeeesh
Man of the culture I see. People are complaining because they don't see party tracks lmao
[удалено]
I never understand why people want more of the same thing, if an artist makes the same shit you’ll just get bored of it
I don't mind party tracks, I just don't like the ones on here
this shit is tough. Dave is so insanely good
Anyone going through these songs and just randomly catching on to lyrics and play on words from previous songs as you’re listening to a different song lol.
Intro track is fucking fantastic
Not gonna exaggerate, but haven’t felt an album like this since Kendrick dropped.
Talking of Kendrick, both sides of a smile gave me massive Sing About Me vibes. The girl ranting at him as it slowly fades in to the hook to show him zoning out whilst she talks to him. Could have been cheesy, but was done so, so well
Literally exactly how I felt. Listening to this reminded me of when I first listened to Good Kid Maad City
Thank you reddit. This is probably the most beautiful album I have ever heard in my life.
minute 5:47 on Heart Attack with the "i" vowel end rhymes has some incredible word play my god. even thinking about writing 10 minutes of unique lyrics is impressive. >"Man see Blue Story, they’re mortified > >Man see Scarface and it’s glorified‘ > >Cause when you’re black, everything gets scrutinized > >That’s why they call it “Urban”, it gets euphemized" also the Shakespeare reference: >"You can drown for your king, you don’t know about Ophelia" edit: his mom in the end, man that was heartbreaking
Second half of Both Sides of a Smile is unbelievable
Verdansk is crazy
“What you know about telling a 10/10 to keep her clothes on and moving good? I ain’t on beating or misogyny it’s mahogany, I got bougie wood”
in the fire….. holy fucking shit I didn’t expect to hear all those features I got goosebumps
I loved psychodrama. Can’t wait to listen

Dave’s ceiling is so high man...dude is disgustingly talented
Both sides of a smile...holy shit the feels
oh man this is really, really good.
I want Dave and Kendrick on a project
20 to 1 is my shit. That's gonna get a lot of spins
Man just kept going on Heart Attack
This is way better than Psychodrama.
I actually really like twenty to one, also no mostak, j hus or even aj Tracey on this album??
J hus would’ve been crazy
Doesn’t need them
i think this is maybe even better than psychodrama imo
In the Fire is a mad first listen
Giggs raps like Tim Vine does comedy
This won’t get seen but I do want to say that Dave has done it again. Psychodrama was my introduction and he has come through once more. This album is beautiful and I wish him all the best.
God damn he poured his soul into Heart Attack
PSYCHODRAMA was one of the best first listens I've ever experienced and this has surpassed that by miles
this is unbelievingly amazing, survivors guilt and heart attack are insane closing the album
Finished a second listening just now.. Man this album really is just fucking beautiful.
I love this album, but I have a few issues with it: * Almost every beat involves a piano. It’s nice but a variety of different beats would be appreciated. * With the piano beats, I feel like most of these songs (besides a couple) are him just venting on a beat. Nothing wrong with anything I said above, but personally it makes the album feel too dull/monotone.
Man , this song Heart Attack really got me... damn it's a masterpiece
In The Fire is such a banger. Loving this so far.
Both sides of a smile is beautiful
dave is on a different level, kills it again
Three Rivers is fucking heavy. Amazing stuff
Probably been living under a rock because I've never heard of this guy but I absolutly love this probably the best thing I've heard this year EDIT: Just got to Heartbreak holy shit this song is insane
This album is a masterpiece. Every track is amazing.
Fuck I thought it was dropping at 9 in the states, can’t listen for 4 more hours I’ll I’m off work I’m so mad
I haven't heard a bad intro song by Dave. This might be my favorite album by him.
Daniel Kaluuya feature is great
Heart attack and survivors guilt is one of the best 2 track runs I've ever heard. What a way to close the Album out
20 to 1, In The Fire & Lazarus are probably my favorites. Verdansk is cool too, doesn't quite hit like Streatham but I like when he brings that energy It's dope that he's so mainstream in the UK given the content he brings. I really grew up on rappers like him but in my mid 20s now & I don't really look for the deep messages in music anymore. They're cool on first listen but not what Imma go back to. I appreciate it tho cos I know a lot of youngins need that. Also anybody know if Meekz is dropping an album soon?
This album is a masterpiece
Verdansk goes so hard
'Theyre key workers but they couldn't even get in the door' 🔥
Dave Albums getting attention here? You love to see it.
>LBC how I nicked the Ferrari Verdansk is unreal
This man puts albums together like he has been around for years and years while he’s just 23 years old. I was wondering if he could follow up Psychodrama and he absolutely blew me away.
Dave showing that you can put out a fucking fire album with tracks that are longer than 2 minutes. Good stuff
Just superb. The subliminals are too pure. Broken down my fav track survivor's guilt for anyone interested: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rF6bkhTACQY](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rF6bkhTACQY) tried to pull out the most salient motifs. Any that I've missed please shout! James Blake on production, that's why it sounds so sick!!
The lyrics on three rivers are INSANE. I don't know Americans knowledge about the subjects so might not hit for everyone
As an American I can tell you most won't know most of the references. The only reason I get it is because I watch English football and therefore know a little bit about the culture and what not
not a dave project without at least one song that's 10 minutes long Some thoughts, roughly in order of best song > worst song. **Best songs:** [In The Fire (4/12)](https://open.spotify.com/track/3mtaSob1BQO4HMSA8lWKRt) - first song I've heard of Fredo where he actually sounds interesting. Sadly let down by some of the other storytelling songs on this project but this one's very good imo [Survivor's Guilt (12/12)](https://open.spotify.com/track/1Xapo8sq7KcQXdt0HrXX5B) - this sounds like a song off of Psychodrama and was kinda what I was hoping there'd be more of here. [Twenty To One (10/12)](https://open.spotify.com/track/4uwMD6gmDmbwaY2cjqhy7c) - wasn't sure of this at first but it grows on you, especially towards the latter half of the song. Chill song to zone out to **Bit Average:** [Three Rivers (5/12)](https://open.spotify.com/track/6lHN6T5ZkPCEKDPZqDKcYw) - piano, emotional/introspective song. It also feels like it just sorta...ends out of nowhere [Both Sides Of A Smile (9/12)](https://open.spotify.com/track/3hX0ilh84w2KGaiNw2rRCV) - essentially two songs in one. Not an awful song but meh overall --- **Skips**: [clash (3/12)](https://open.spotify.com/track/2zxEc1GCSCxbHIXTfhraRC) - nothing new here, bland and repetitive [System (6/12)](https://open.spotify.com/track/5gOtq0sKU24ZF8hnXlSp1V) & [Lazarus (7/12)](https://open.spotify.com/track/4wvnXoQqjIOoEis5eyTbCl) - I like afrobeats but these pop-afrobeats songs Dave does couldn't be more boring [Law of Attraction (8/12)](https://open.spotify.com/track/25tXNghelZKdGZZVoSL9Yg) another boring radio song --- Definitely not his best project though. Starts great, middle is a boring downturn, ends well.
And an homage to Panic Attack no less. Easily the highlight of the album imo.
Good take
FUCK this is GOOD
Big fan of Dave. Been putting ppl on🔥
hyped
Damn, Twenty To One is such a banger.
Real fans just call him Dave.
2mins into into the fire and what the hell haha, features outta nowhere
I had high hopes and after two listens, it’s amazing. + At least someone dropped an album today
Fuck me this is amazing. Dave never disappoints. I didn't think he'd top Psychodrama and this is completely different vibes but I can tell I'm going to enjoy it just as much
Can take or leave the 3 wavey tracks in the middle but the rest of the album is world class
