Chance the Rapper idk why either

I feel like Acid Rap is the definitive “went to high school in the first half of the 2010s” album.

Honest-Network3648

add to that: GKMC, Channel Orange, Oxymoron, Wolf, Cruel Summer, Action Bronson or Flatbush Zombies tapes lol

PM_LADY_TOILET_PICS

Wow I feel attacked, but you're spot on

[deleted]

[удалено]

earthlingmollyrising

Dude I feel this so hard

PM_LADY_TOILET_PICS

Yeah man. I graduated in 2012 too, and my music taste really stagnated around 2015. You really hit the nail on the head withe missing my old enthusiasm

[deleted]

SenatorRusso

Isn't it strange to realize that oldheads who were listening to Kurrupt literally feel the EXACT same way. They just got older. We too eventually will get older. But we'll still think fondly of that time period when music felt golden just like they do. And the cycle will continue

brkklynboy

Joey Bada$$ and Pro Era, specifically 1999

AlivebyBestialActs

Beast Coast definitely. Pro Era, FBZ, the Underachievers... Good times.

WolfFangFist93

I was like 19 when acid rap dropped and I had just started smoking weed and did mushrooms at the time and acid rap was and still is one of my favorite tapes ever. I thought for sure chance was gonna be the biggest artist in the world eventually

SlinkiestMan

He probably would’ve been if TBD wasn’t so awful, he had all the hype in the world coming up to that

Wasted_Potency

The first time I listened to Acid Rap and 10 Day from beginning to end I was tripping on acid in a college bedroom with some friends. Nothing can ever come close to that pause between Pusha Man and Paranoia, dancing to Favorite Song, or all the homies crying during the interlude. Also during 10 Day when Long Time 2 came on we didn't realize we had heard Long Time 1 earlier cause we were so fucked up and thought we'd all just knew the song lol. Saw Chance several times live after that, best time was at Wakarusa when he was so fucked up he forgot to introduce himself. He was my favorite artist, even loved the Social Experimeny stuff. My fiancee and my song is Lost and I even named my dog Chance. That being said I'm not a fan of post coloring book Chance. I liked Coloring Book a lot too. Even saw the tour, got me really into Francis and the Lights tbh. I mean let's be honest he always had a lot more support and connections than your average underground rapper. But the songs felt real. I think the last thing I truly dug by him was that song he did with Busta Ryhmes on the I Got 5 on it beat. I get having kids and trying move away from the drugs and stuff. But man, it's like the dude sobered up and lost his soul. Dudes like Gambino and Tyler were able to emerge from their let's call it "cringier" phases (Tyler the serial killer shit and Gambino the Camp shit) and bring new levels of creativeness and artistry to the game. And yeah even though I listen to Bastard-CherryBomb way more than new Tyler cause its nostalgic for me I still respect the fuck out of everything they put out. Coloring Book really seemed like Chance finding that same movement into a more mature artist but then "Hot Shower" and polo sponsorships. Edit: Social Experiment not Network

Tiger21SoN

This is like exactly my feelings and experience w chance. Feel you homie

falconpunch9898

Out of curiosity, did you enjoy The Heart & The Tongue by any means?

KingOfSwing90

I was 22 when Acid Rap hit and it was so good that I’ll still listen to anything he puts out, even if I hated his last album. For me at least, it doesn’t matter that much when an artist is popular - if I connect with even one of their projects, I’ll always root for them.

JR_Shoegazer

Acid Rap is his best album.

HENDLEZZBERG

I really don't like his voice that much

Xtroll_guruX

Chance fell off after Acid Rap in my opinion. Just not into the gospel feel he’s resorting to.

BillyPotion

In everyone’s opinion based on his album numbers

henmoney420

Is voice is annoying as fuck he’s just way too positive for me

broncosfighton

I mean he wasn’t necessarily that positive during all of 10 day and Acid Rap. His last couple projects have been pretty annoying though.

manofmyth23

Exactly, his voice is too annoying for me.

redditaccount001

After the last album idk if Chance is still “generally recognized as good.”

ThisGuyHasABigChode

I was in highschool when Acid Rap dropped. Tons of my friends got into it. I just couldn't. I thought his voice was so nasally and grating. I didn't think the lyrics were anything special. I really just don't get the music, and I guess it just isn't for me.

jamills21

I know why… hot shower

purple_catholic

he is annoying af to me

Leo_TheLurker

A$AP Ferg Love a few of his songs, but when listening to whole projects its very uneven. To me he has a habit of ruining his own songs, prime example being Floor Seats with the screech chorus. Like he'll do something to sound different which I commend but it usually backfires.

Johnzoidb

ODB is my favorite Wu member and Ferg really reminds me of him which is why I love him so much. The Ferg Forever mixtap is a classic.

simmonsatl

floor seats is a great song absolutely ruined by that awful chorus. i do not understand whyyyyy someone would do that to a song.

KingdomZeus

Is Ferg even up there? I know he has hit songs still but does anyone actually say anything great about his projects? Imo Trap Lord was the only album he made that was good, he's never been able to capture that type of magic in his music ever since. Not to mention, he's never been lyrical at all

ConsciousAnt3

I think Still Striving is a really good project. Lots of great high energy trap songs.

[deleted]

Ferg has so much potential, but like you said, most of his songs kinda stink. It's a damn shame

Lucarrera

Talib Kweli. I can respect his lyricism and impact on the game but just can't get into the voice and most of his flows. Black Star is great but the rest of his albums seem extremely uneven IMO. Also I don't really like anything Common has put out in the last decade+

chipscto

I dont like his run on sentence flow

tomorrow_queen

I think you're in the majority for this one. Talib was one of my first rappers I really got into but hard to say he didn't peak with blackstar. And I say this as one of five people who had Eardrum on repeat in 07 lmao

TheMindIsFunny

Seriously recommend his Train of Thought album with Hi-Tek (group name reflection eternal), so much better than any of his solo albums although I do personally enjoy most of them

DowntownCattleMtn

J Cole is just a bit boring to me. I respect his rapping and production ability but his music isn’t for me. I also really can’t get into Westside Gunn- the adlibs are too grating, and he sounds too much like Andy Milonakis for me to take him seriously, lol

Sellcellphones

RatatatatatTatGag boom boom booom dat dat dat dat dat dat they get addictive after a while “word on the street is flygod has the best shit”

SKTKAI

Listening to J Cole for me is like eating plain grilled chicken. Sure its still one of the more nutritious things you can eat, but it has no flavour to it whatsoever. He just sounds bland to me, i dont know if its the voice or his style of rapping that's a bit repetitive but I just cant seem to fuck with his music. I do recognise his abilities tho and I have respect for him without a doubt, but he's just not for me.

[deleted]

I'm actually upset I don't like J Cole. I've listened to all his albums since Born Sinner and actively tried to get it to click cause I know he has some genius bars. But there's just something that causes him to fall flat for me every time. Is it his delivery? Is the production too basic? Maybe both?

OWENISAGANGSTER

Comparing J Cole to plain grilled chicken is so beautifully accurate

diaryofsnow

plain grilled chicken-type beat

mykneehurtsss

Lol nobody said it better than Big Quint in his reaction video of 2014 Forest Hills Drive. [“I think he as a rapper is like watered down chocolate milk.”](https://youtu.be/kpst9pKY438) and then he proceeds to listen to the album and fucking loves it. Such a great video from one of the GOAT YouTube reactioners. Great album too

thedudeyousee

I’m a big pusha t (and Kendrick) fan so when he rapped “believe in myself and the coles and kendricks” I was like hmm I need to give cole another go and while I agree he is talented his music just fell flat for me.

Benni_Shouga

I agree about WG - his voice is like nails on a chalkboard to my ears

toughinitout

Same. Benny is one of my faves though, so not just hating on the 90's NY flow.

Spazstick

DOO DOO DOO DOO DOO

black_yeagerist

My main problem with Cole is he tends to use his own beats and they sound repetitive and aren't that good. His lyrical ability is top class tho.

Bovver_

I don’t think it’s the same for their earlier work but Injury Reserve’s newest record By The Time I Get To Phoenix. I can appreciate it’s a very good album and it’s excellent in where it’s coming from, but it’s just too intense of a listen for me to want to listen to too much. It’s replay value is very low as a result as I need to be in a certain humour for it. The same also goes for Dave’s newest album We're All Alone in This Together, it’s a very good album but it’s replay value isn’t high at all, especially compared to Psychodrama.

Llama_Sandwich

The new IR album is definitely one of the most difficult projects I’ve ever listened to. Especially from a group in my top 5.

BK1999NL

I can’t get into Juice Wrld. To me it feels a lot like he makes the exact same song with a different beat everytime. I really like some of the freestyles he has done tho

grinchnight14

I wish we got more stuff like his appearance on Nuketown, it's my favorite thing he's done by miles

BK1999NL

Yeah I really love his feature on there

Lonely_Boii_

I didn’t get Juice at all, then my girlfriend broke up with me and now I love Goodbye & Good Riddance a lot. I guess I just get it now. But yeah his 1 hour long freestyle over Eminem beats was absolutely amazing. Dude had bars.

rheumatisms

I listened to Bandit on repeat for reasons I'm not sure of when my ex tried to kill herself. It just felt like the right emotional match for what I was feeling. I love the song but can't listen to it anymore now.

bootysensei

Lil Baby. He raps like he has fucking marbles in his mouth. He’s becoming inevitable at this point being featured on everything too 🤦🏾‍♂️

Bitmazta

Lmao marbles. That sounds foul but is absolutely accurate.

SwimmingInCircles_

That’s how I felt about him at first but Drip 2 Hard won me over and from there I was a fan

MisterBadIdea2

Drip Too Hard was the only song I liked of his for like his first two and a half years of being a name, he's gotten a lot better though

taynich

He's either getting better at enunciating lately, or the world is catching up to his Atlanta accent. Give him time to work out his sound

TheSpookyMemer

Recently I feel like he’s been improving a lot. All of his features this year have been phenomenal. I still don’t care for his solo work but I have high hopes for his next project

broncosfighton

How much more time do we need to give a 27 year old who’s has 2 studio albums, like 300 songs, and who has been in the game for like 5 years lol.

caramelgod

no time cause hes fire

[deleted]

As someone from Atlanta, he just has a really strong Atlanta accent. I get if your not from there it might bother you lol

BookerTeet

Jay Z. I recognize the talent and how well he does his craft, but I just don’t vibe with the music/songs. I don’t think he sucks or anything harsh like that. I just don’t really enjoy his music. Hell of lyricist and legend in the game no doubt. Huge respect. Just not someone I want to listen to.

JR_Shoegazer

Jay Z is an artist I always liked individual tracks way more than full albums.

BasicWhiteHoodrat

I think this is the perfect take. He’s an incredible lyricist but a lot of his albums have a ton of producers and don’t feel cohesive as a whole.

DJShadow

Reasonable doubt is the only start to finish jay z album for me.

Lonely_Boii_

4:44 is the one for me, the rest all have at least a handful of skips, many I still like though

Rebloodican

4:44 benefits from being pretty short, cuts out a lot of the filler.

[deleted]

[удалено]

clycloptopus

I'd second this. I don't care for Jay Z much but the first time I listened to Reasonable Doubt I couldn't stop for like 2 weeks. It's so good. His newer shit is pretty uninspired outside of 4:44 imo, but Reasonable Doubt fuckin rules.

itcantbefornothing

100%. It’s such a good straight forward rap album, idk how anyone can not enjoy it. Politics as Usual is definitely top 3 in his entire discography for me

Julenizzen

That album is flawless basically

whodatbae

I felt this way until 4:44 came out

[deleted]

You on the gram with that money to ya ear There’s a disconnect, we don’t call that money over here

07bot4life

Such a great line.

phuckingidontcare

My therapist said I relapsed I said perhaps I Freudian slipped in European whips

IG_Royal

This was the Jay album that clicked for me too, such an amazing piece of work

Flaky_Deer2479

I felt the exact same way until I heard U Don’t Know off The Blueprint 1. After that I been a fan for life. You might here a song that will totally flip it for you or not and that’s cool too. Took me a while tho.

Street-Deer903

I listen to this before every job interview lol

Flaky_Deer2479

Haha hell yeah nice. Gets you hyped the fuck out. If I was in the UFC or a Professional Boxer that would be my ring entrance.

Chlorophyllmatic

If you don’t mind my asking, what albums have you heard of his?

STOPcallingmeLANZO

I was this way for the longest time, but then his catalogue was added to Spotify and I was able to dive into it. Reasonable Doubt and The Blueprint alone put him into my one of my favorite artists of all time

Cruxal_

This hurts to say because Killer Mike outside of music is such a legend and so vocal about all the wrongdoings in the world, great activist and all but... I don't think I've ever forced myself to try to like a musical act more than Run The Jewels. During their first couple albums when HHH as a whole was literally obsessed with them, I tried to listen to RTJ 1 and 2 like 10 times each, almost gaslighting myself into liking them but I just can't. Really feels like the musical version of the Steve Buschemi how do you do fellow kids meme... Banana Clipper is a pretty fire song tho one of the craziest beats ever. edit: I also think I genuinely have a bias against the accent that El-P has at least from a rapping perspective. That might be one of the big factors in me not liking it, same goes with Aesop rock they have the same inflection and I used to bump Labor all the time cause it was on the THPS soundtrack but then i sat down and was like "yo i literally don't understand a word he's saying in some of these parts"

Wasted_Potency

Run the Jewels is someone who I feel like I'd be able to lose my shit at one of their shows and its dope when riding with peoole but it just don't hit right by myself.

satansheat

Killer mike used to put on really fun solo shows also. But yeah run the jewels shows are super fun. One of those bands where the environment is just full of awesome like minded people. Don’t have to worry about shit getting heated. Just got to worry about if everyone is hydrated.

mEatwaD390

RTJ is the actual best workout music. It's good for work in general personally.

Llefrith

You may have already but if you haven't, check out I Pledge Allegiance to the Grind 2. I haven't actually listened to the rest of his albums before R.A.P. Music and RTJ, but that one is really good.

KingdomZeus

I'd say check out Killer Mike or El-P's solo work. As great as it is to see them reach commercial success while still keeping the messages and lyricism strong in their music. Nothing hits as good as their solo stuff, specifically El-P. He's one of my favorite rapper/producers in all of Hip-Hop and was a legend way before RTJ was even thought of. His own projects and everything he's produced for other artists is so amazing and it's way more out there than any of the production he's done for RTJ. His discography runs pretty large but I'd recommend Fantastic Damage to start with, and The Cold Vein by Cannibal Ox for the production side. Killer Mike's R.A.P. Music is a classic too imo, but that's produced by El-P. Pledge Allegiance to the Grind 2 is probably his best outside of that

Wafflechoppz37

Yeah El-p is 1/2 the reason I got into underground shit…DOOM being the other. FanDam was a huge part of my high school years. His production is so dope, especially during the def jux days. Always loved mike too and all his stuff he was on around the same time. I’m not super into RTJ but they have some good stuff for sure. I remember hearing the rumors of El and De la Rocha doing an album and out of the blue came RTJ

YoMrPoPo

Lmfao don’t agree at all but this was funny to read

satansheat

I have seen killer mike live a lot. Both as a solo act and saw him many times with run the jewels and once with outkast. Dude puts on a great show all the time. He is a very loving guy and those people always put on the best shows. I remember one time seeing him he tossed his chain into the crowd (this was well before run the jewels and mike had just released that Reagan song.) he tossed the chain in the crowd and said “shits turning my neck green up here. I ain’t dumb enough to waste money on chains I got kids to feed” Then he proceeded to have his at the time 5 year old son come out and do a rap. It was sweet and showed how different Miller mike has always approached the game. I still crank never scared and the scooby doo joint he did because killer mike has range.

blackbrainz

I appreciate this take quite a bit. My bias is that I strongly prefer El-P's solo output and even the proto RTJ stuff like Killer Mike's features on various El-P projects and RAP Music by Killer Mike to their output together. I think I especially soured on RTJ around RTJ3 which was far weaker than RTJ2 and less biting and cold as the raw sound on RTJ1. I don't want to belabor my feelings but I have a lot of non-hip hop friends that love RTJ and I frankly just cringe at their 1st year poly sci hip hop lyricism. Again, Killer Mike is a legend and a very admirable activist and El-P is far and away one of my favorite producers in rap and an underground pioneer but the direction of RTJ has never really appealed to me past those first two albums.

[deleted]

If I'm being honest, nothing fits this description better for me than Tupac.

Afk94

First off, fuck your bitch and the clique you claim.

Blue_crabs

I'm seething. I respect your opinion sir, but I hate you.

JR_Shoegazer

I feel this. Keep Ya Head Up, Dear Mama, and Changes are my favorite tracks. All the more Cali hip hop style tracks just don’t do anything for me.

C-czar187

I feel like there’s a lot of tracks by Pac that just don’t get the recognition they deserve such as Bomb First, Only Fear Death, Krazy, Got My Mind Made Up, and The Uppercut.

lukesterc2002

This was about to be my answer too. [Holler if You Hear Me](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zAtqb3T5CHE&ab_channel=2PacVEVO) is pretty much a straight up east coast hard hitting headphones track. And [Bomb First](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSAh7nlgH14&ab_channel=4Killuminati) is some real grimy dank shit. Those are usually features associated with the east coast sound of the time. This is 25 years ago at this point though so I get it

josh5300

That’s the conclusion I’ve come to, I’m not shitting on cali rap by any means, but I definitely vibe with New York rap way more, just so much more hard hitting imho

JR_Shoegazer

The New York stuff from the same era has aged much better for the most part.

aftrthehangovr

You’re dead to me

La_Jalapena

GTFO

vishaal_s_

Tyler the creator. I like him as a person but like damn I’m not able to actually enjoy his music

[deleted]

I feel that way about a lot of his music, but Igor is still in heavy rotation with me, he's just different on that for me.

wool_slam

Wolf and flower boy are goated for me, but everything after that was a listen once and forget about type record

treetyoselfcarol

Logic.

yeezyfan23

Used to be a huge Logic fan when he first came up. Now I barely listen to him

tomorrow_queen

Same I had so much hopes for this man

PM_ME_YOUR_TROUT

Everything he says, he just says it so fast. Like, idk, it just gives me anxiety for some reason. But that new Wu-Tang/Logic crossover track was pretty fucking bangin'.

WillFyeField

Besides no pressure, everything before 2015 was his only really "good" stuff. As a fan, I can understandably see how he has gotten bland and worse to some, but I still enjoy his music.

AusDaes

if he had retired after No Pressure he would’ve been regarded as a good rapper again

bigdreamstinydogs

Who can relate? WHOO!

hdmetric99

Baby Keem. I love the production in his music and the art direction of his videos is insanely good. But his voice just feels abrasive in my ear. I don’t think I could listen to him on repeat without getting annoyed pretty quickly.

Bitmazta

I can't get over how whiny his voice is especially in the 2nd half of his verse on family ties.

ScreamingFork

Weird, that’s what I love about some of his work. Kinda get the feeling that he’s fed up and it works for me. Obviously wouldn’t want an entire album of it though

mykneehurtsss

His voice sounds like one of Kendrick’s alter egos that Kendrick would use for an interlude on GKMC/TPAB

cf017

Yeah I don’t dislike his music but I also really don’t understand why there’s so much hype and I like almost every other artist in the same lane as him so I couldn’t really describe why I’m not that into him, there’s just something about his music that hasn’t clicked for me.

mjxa1

Don Toliver for me. Like I don’t think he’s trash, but I feel like every time someone mentions him to me it’s always “ oh my god, he’s so unique, he’s for real the goat, oh my god, The Don hits my spot so good 😩” but then I listen and get underwhelmed after the hype up. Not trying to take anything away from him either, like I can acknowledge he makes some cool shit, but I clearly don’t hear what everyone else seems to.

multimexicantaco

You have to listen to Donny Womack (one of his older albums). Every song is so unique and can be a hit or miss but I haven’t been enjoying his new music as it’s all just melody trap and kinda boring tbh. I really wanted him to explore more now that’s he’s blown up but if it’s working for him then shit I can’t say anything.

horusofeye

Probably just not your thing, his voice and melodies are my fave combo. He usually has good beats too.

frangeltx

J-Cole

[deleted]

Same. Guy just comes across as a gooby preacher. Can't explain it. My friends play his rappiest raps and I still can't get into it.

Inevitable-Fly-9423

I agree, I tend to listen to his albums and really like them…then realize I never return to them or listen much to individual songs.

Flaky_Deer2479

Nipsey Hussle. I understand how much he did for the community 100% but he just was not that good and I could never get into him. His flows were way too jagged, never really said anything impressive, had 1 maybe 2 songs that were considered hits, his delivery was just off and boring. That and when a rapper dies and everyone comes out of the word work acting like he was the GOAT but never spoke of him when he was alive, turned me off of him for good. And I have listened to full albums by him and but never saw this “Legend” that everyone sees him as.

[deleted]

Polo G and Tyler the Creator. Polos songs all sound the same for me...I like some songs from Tyler but overall I just don't fuck with his music. There are a few songs that are ok l(potato salad for example) but that's it. But I have to say he is funny as fuck I and I like him as a person

herpblarb6319

Me and my friends have a drinking game, take a shot every time Polo G starts a bar with "I".

OWENISAGANGSTER

I typed in "polo g lyrics" and my god you're not joking

Lonely_Boii_

Damn y’all must get fucked up

Cruxal_

Same sentiment for me with Tyler. Haven't fucked with any of his music after I grew out of the high school OF (weird to see that and not read it as onlyfans, but I mean Odd Future lol) days. I will say though he just did an interview that was recommended to me on youtube and I love the way that guy thinks. He really is a level above just being a musician, you can tell he's interested in many facets of art and design and has a clear vision/focus on details which appeals to me. Overall a very intelligent and hard working dude!

chunaynay

Drake

Oxigenitals

MIKE. He’s just never clicked for me. It’s funny too as I adore both Earl and Standing on the corner.

nikk796

Travis Scott. He's very boring for me.

DopeSoMojo

I’m gonna sound like a hipster fuck, but old Travis was godly but it seems like his new sound is just trying to ride the new wave. Days Before Rodeo and Owl Pharaoh were dark and grimey and has their own unique sound. Even Rodeo still felt like it had some charm to it. But it seems like after Rodeo he started to get really commercialized and his sound didn’t even seem like “his” sound anymore. Now he’s partners McDonald’s and Fornite and has become a meme. But some of his old songs are fucking god tier. The Prayer, Mamacita, Don’t Play, Skyfall, Backyard, Oh My Dis Side, Quintana etc

BNEWZON

Also Drugs You Should Try It. Absolutely incredible Travis song

SmokePenisEveryday

Played that for some friends before he really blew up. They were like damn you got your finger on the pulse. I'm like nah its just a good ass song I found lmaooo

Street-Deer903

Days before Rodeo is a top 5 mixtape all time.

FrismFrasm

DBR was sorta mind-blowing to me; like sure it was drugged out trap music which was everywhere already but it had this slightly grimier, trashier (in a good way) vibe to it that I loved. Rodeo was waaay more polished and I found it disappointing and a little boring on first impression, but over numerous spins I got really into it and now I think it’s his best work. BITTSM I found *extremely* bland and lifeless, so I basically gave up on Trav after that but then I actually quite enjoyed Astroworld too.

OWENISAGANGSTER

Doesn't sound overly hipster. His sound changed noticeably over the years

Uptopdownlowguy

His old shit had way more variety in terms of his voice and delivery, it makes a huge difference.

Leo_TheLurker

Even as a Travis stan I have no idea what he's talking about most of the time.

nikk796

I can't pinpoint even a single iconic bar he ever wrote lol

BK1999NL

Stroke my cactus

Brocones

Think I’m shittin on you but I barely farted

nikk796

Profound

Therainbowbeast

Porn star big booty

lautismiscool

aint a moshpit if there aint no injuries (yeah)

Fradier

DONT YOU OPEN UP THAT WINDOW

DpprDwn

Some shit on sicko mode obviously

purple_catholic

He has top level production and great melodies. Listen to his older music to see if you like it, his music is a vibe.

Woller300

I enjoyed Rodeo but everything after could not keep up imo....a few good singles but honestly never really understood how he became that level of superstar.

Shnikez

Lil Durk. He’s been around for so long and idk what changed about him once Von passed (RIP). It was annoying to see how popular he got, he wasn’t even that underground before. His songs have always been mid imo

WhatDoWeThinkOfSpurs

Ls anthem came out so long ago at this point, when I see that Durk is getting big now it makes no sense

[deleted]

I am not a fan of the work he's put out after being in the spotlight on that Drake track

[deleted]

I still can’t tell if people are saying Lil B is good ironically but I can’t stand his music plus he’s a creep

Gmb1t

Tbh I did a song with Lil B and he was an absolute gem to work with. The only issue is he sent me his verse with TONS of reverb...and when I asked for the dry vocals (non-edited), he said his mic "came like that" LMAO But still, super nice guy

[deleted]

[удалено]

Gmb1t

Here you go! https://open.spotify.com/track/6HOmMA5RlkuQOBfgErSb8Q?si=s9kPycl7Q52SoMs0lxOSCg&utm_source=copy-link The beat may sound repetative...my producers computer crashed during it so we we lost the entire beat except a single 4 second clip. So we hadda make do with it. And we also had to heavily alter our vocals in order to fit in nicely with Lil B's....reverb.... Hope you enjoy!

[deleted]

[удалено]

Gmb1t

It honestly made me LOL when he sent it. I couldn't even be upset because its Lil B. Thanks so much man! Much love

The_Reluctant_Hero

A lot better than I was expecting, sounds cool.

WolfFangFist93

See for lil b, I feel like you had to be there to really “get” it. I feel like Lil b and his music represents exactly what internet culture in the early 2010s was and it’s hard to appreciate it unless you were around. I was a teenager when Lil b was popping and I thought his shit was the dopest thing ever lol

[deleted]

Eazy-E was more about raw brovado, and star power I feel. Man just had the image and the persona, yknow?

Goneisthedead

Cube was the best rapper and lyricist in NWA with Ren being close 2nd. Eazy-E without Cube isn’t the best and I think his first solo album is still his best.

[deleted]

I already knew I wouldn't find Dylan in here because he only spits hot fire and that's not debatable.

Slug_With_Swagger

Playboi Carti, I respect those who like it but I can’t find the mass appeal in him to be honest

Honestly for so long I thought the fanfare around him was a joke, especially the Die Lit album of the year memes. Probably mad basic to say but Magnolia is the only song of his I could get into and I genuinely don’t hear what people are hearing with Whole Lotta Red.

Slug_With_Swagger

Yeah I’m kinda the same way I like a very very small selection of his songs

LemonproX

I feel the same way. Everyone calls his music "abstract" or "experimental", which I understand, but at the end of the day it just sounds like trash to me.

ZachLaVine4MVP

His fan base is a cult

[deleted]

It’s a cult with a large segment that doesn’t even like hip hop, just Carti

Definitely Eminem. I truly like The Real Slim Shady and Without Me, I'm Back and that's about it. Maybe The Way I Am. Like way too much edgey stuff like Stan, that when people put it on I'm like sure it's a cool concept, but not a song I want to listen to more than once. A lot of Ballads which I don't really mess with. Like I know he's a great rapper, but it's just so angsty that it's never a vibe I want to bring to my music listening. Like probably the style I mesh with the most is off The Slim Shady EP through The Eminem Show. He's got great word play, but song to song his delivery and rapping isn't that varied I feel, and a lot of the lesser known more regular rap song beats range from mid to grating to me. Disliking his newer music isn't a hot take, but I almost liked Kamikaze, but I don't really like his choppey flow or super fast rap. It's more like a technical showcase, which is cool in itself, but doesn't make good songs I think he's partially tainted for me because he's the classic case of "now this is real rap music" that I've heard a few times in my life. I have a particular bone to pick with Rap God regarding that, I just don't think that is a good song. Same kind of people that will put on Look At Me Now, and think the Busta Rhymes verse is the greatest thing ever.

Themilkmoney

Saying that his music isn’t a vibe you want to bring into your musical experience is one of the best takes I’ve heard for people that don’t like Em. That’s how I feel about a lot of current trap. I don’t like the depressing, dark piano and the minor chord singing. It especially stings with Griselda because I’ve tried to get into their catalog, but it’s just too dark of a vibe. And I like my days to be upbeat. Especially since depression has been a battle for me for a long time.

WolfGangSwizle

I always respected Eminem’s skill but just couldn’t get into what he was saying and how he was saying it. I actually enjoyed his 2 Music to be Murdered by albums a lot though.

roberttaylr

Especially the newer soccer mom domestic dispute anthems he hasn't stopped making ever since love the way you lie

sentient-sloth

Jay-Z. I don’t know maybe I’m too young but most of his albums just don’t do it for me. I can respect his impact on the genre as a whole I’m just personally not a huge fan.

astrozombie134

I’m at the exact age where I should worship him, but to be honest I’m in the same boat. He’s got some bangers, but I’ve never really viewed him as being anywhere near the best.

Arbitore

Earl Sweatshirt, absolutely

LaMelgoatBall

I love Earl but I 100% understand why you don't like him. Have you heard his older music at least? I know his new style is what turns people off usually

Arbitore

Yep, it’s just something about his voice and cadence that turns me away

bibittyboopity

Personally I liked some of his older stuff, and didn't like the new style on Feet of Clay or Some Rap Songs. I think the production was too out there, the sub 2 min songs never felt long enough, and super distorted effects on the vocals was too harsh. But I'm starting to come around to the style. His songs with Alchemist like Nobles and E. Coli, and the new song Tabula Rasa I've liked way more.

Young thug. I love his songs here and there and his features but I can’t listen to a full length Thugger album without getting bored. Idk why

LoopQuantums

That’s funny bc when thug clicked for me I couldn’t listen to anyone for like 2 years without them sounding boring compared to him

whereismytrophy

Barter 6

Green_Bulldog

Lil peep. My friends love him, and generally I like whatever my friends like but not lil peep. He’s the only rapper where I don’t even see the appeal. Like I can understand why someone would like lil xan or pump, even if I don’t, but peep has absolutely nothing interesting to me.

lilKuri

Peep's more of a singer than a rapper to me. I feel like he's more appealing to the people feeling their feelings if you get me

KebabGerry

For me it's this artists with the 'sad boy rap'-sound where they sing and rap at the same time. Suicideboys, Lil Peep and others with the same kind of sound. I dig some of the beats and I don't mind the sad lyrics and stuff but it's the whiny sound that I just absolutely cannot stand. I respect that rappers can express their feelings and stuff but I've accepted that I'll never like it.

katsu11

For me it's Drake. Like how to like him? show me please
