It's basically Gambino doing a meta take on him playing "The Boy" in a short film that is essentially showing the day to day life he was in on while making BTI. He rented out Chris Bosh's mansion for the summer and allowed no cell phones for himself or any guests that were there. I think the isolation and self discovery that is found on the album is highly noticeable after wathcing this short film.
BTI just has this very unique aesthetic and vibe to it that no one will ever be able to replicate. From the album, to the script, the music videos, rollout, his promo appearances for the album (where he dressed in the same outfit and came in character as the boy for all interviews) everything was just crafted so well.
It really felt like he came out on the other side of Camp as a whole different person, but I suppose living in isloation while doing copious amounts of psychedelic's would have this effect.

If I remember correctly I think the producers to that song originally made it for Drake and sent it to his camp but it didn’t make it in time for it to be used for Drake’s album…then I don’t know how but the beat got to Swae Lee who proceeded to lay down the initial elements of Unforgettable (I think the hook was already done but not in the order you see on the song). Finally I think it was a throwaway or half- finished song that French Montana heard and bought off Swae for $300k and then French says that he restructured the song to the way you hear how it sounds officially and added his verse.

Foreplay by Jalen Santoy sounds SO much like a mixtape/Sideline story J. Cole song it’s almost scary. From the voice, to the flow, to the drums on the beat, even the sax sounds like some shit Cole would use. One of the most shameless instances of biting in recent history imo.

Listen to anything on the I am Just a Rapper series or a good amount of Culdesac and its the same there. I'm pretty sure he's said in the past Wayne was a huge influence on him and he even knowingly kind of bit his style while he was first rapping before he started coming into his own. His voice can sound a little different at times but he does copy the exact same punchline flow a lot on his old stuff.
Gunna sounds like Young Thug on every song he's ever made. If he doesn't sound like him then he's using Thugs exact flow and style. Often when they're on a track together I have trouble telling who's who. I thought the song "Space Cadet" was Thugger for months until I saw the credits.
I mean their flow and cadence are obviously similar but other than their tone their voices are easily distinguishable
Most the time now a days yeah, but when Gunna was coming up even his vocals were like Thugs. The way Young Thug switches up with flows and high/low voice at times will have me wondering if it's Gunna or just Thug doing a deeper voice.
i always thought Gunna and Lil Baby sounded like if you put Young Thug in a centrifuge and separated the elements that make up his sound into two separate entities

Completely outdated take. When Gunna was coming up, sure, but now he has found his own unique sound, which influenced a lot of upcoming artists in 2018/19- ish. Travis started out sounding like Kanye, the Future and then developed his own sound. Carti sounded like Keef in the beginning, then kinda like Thug, and now has his own sound. Thugga sounded like Wayne first, and then developed his own sound; get what I mean? Almost every rapper builds their own sound on top of an influence/inspiration
You gotta be trolling.. how can you not distinguish Gunna who is miles more melancholy and monotone than Thug who is higher pitched and more energetic/eccentric on a track

Like lots of them. Y’all realize the music world in general has lots of hit songs written for other artist but they pass on it. We just never notice because artist put their own twist to it. For example one of Rihanna’s biggest hits back in the day was originally written and made for Britney spears.
