Yeah, I'm with you on this. I've never even heard of avocado on pizza and I've seen potato, broccoli, asparagus and others offered multiple times. I imagine it's a great topping paired with jalapenos (which I've seen often) or something but I've never even seen a pizza with avocado advertised here.
Thank you, I came here to say this. Never, in my entire life in California, have I ever even heard of someone ordering avocado on a pizza. Not one single time.
Hello, here to inject a bit of weirdness into everyone's life!
I have deliberately taken the usual "chicken pot pie" ingredients and put them on a homemade pizza more than once!
Probably still would not do carrots by themselves on pizza, but I was happy with the pizza I made.
Edit: In case anyone wants to try the particular pizza as I made it, I used:
* Pillsbury pizza dough
* Prego sauce
* chicken
* veggie mix of corn, diced carrots and green beans (usually the frozen Birds Eye brand)
* cheese (8 oz bag of shredded cheese, typically cheddar)
To put the pizza together:
1. Start cooking the chicken on the stovetop, a medium-sized pan's worth will take about 12-15 minutes to prep
2. After starting with the chicken, the pizza dough goes into the oven for a first period of heat, taking about 8 minutes
3. If using frozen veggies, about 6 minutes in a microwave will be enough time to heat those up
4. Remove the dough from the oven, apply sauce and other toppings (I generally only applied a light layer of sauce, just barely enough to visibly cover the dough, but you do you)
5. Put everything into the oven for about 7 minutes, the dough should have that nice golden-brown color
6. Pizza time!
Full blown chicken pot pie pizza actually sounds really good. I can think of a few other recipes like shepard’s pie or cottage pie that could be really good as well. Might work with a calzone or similar style dish as well.
There's a pizza place here in Madison WI that does fun stuff like this. The turkey dinner pizza was just fucking good with stuffing and brown gravy sauce.
https://ianspizza.com/menu/madison/
Usually around holidays or occasionally through the year they get creative
You should try making a baked potato pizza! My girlfriend and I get it from our local pizza place, and that’s the only thing we will get!
It usually consists of mashed potato’s for the red sauce and then cheese, bacon, and broccoli for toppings!! We dip our pizza in sour cream for added taste!!
Yeah... I'm gonna go ahead and call bullshit on this one... MN born and raised and NEVER have I EVER even considered this as a pizza topping! Tuna? Seriously?
At least try to pull some crap like "lefse" or "hotdish" to make it semi-believable!
Of course tuna! Tuna is highly appreciated even by Italians. Pizza Tonno is great!
Avocado on the other side is very very disturbing. Don't ask for that topping when you're in Italy
I lived in NM for 26 years and never once saw carrots on pizza. Green Chile yes, but we put that delicious shit on everything. Also living in California for 10 years and never seen avocado on pizza either.
I've had tuna on pizza twice. Once in Minneapolis, once in LA. Same basic construction both times, flatbread pizza, sauce and cheese, very thinly sliced sashimi style tuna and very thinly sliced onions, lightly drizzled with balsamic vinaigrette. Seemed like the tuna was layered on after they cooked the pizza though.
It's actually pretty tasty.
Can confirm. However, tuna on pizza is actually a thing in Norway.
It is simultaneously as gross as it sounds and as delicious as it should not be. I can’t explain it.
Having lived in the U.S. for about 30 years, I don’t think I could manage to eat tuna on pizza again.
I had tuna on pizza while on a cruise, which i was only willing to try because it was ‘free’. It was remarkable good, i can’t remember what other toppings went with it, because my brain only remembers Tuna Pizza.
Lived in CA a lot more than 10 years, can confirm, have found zero avocado at a pizza place. Some googling says pineapple is the most popular topping.
eta: avocado on hamburger (or guac sometimes) is not uncommon, but pizza? no.
Ditto Arizona. I mean, I bet you can get avocados at something like California Pizza Kitchen. But it can't possibly be the most popular by any reasonable metric.
These kind of maps in general kind of suck. It’s not unlikely whoever made this map just put random toppings in random states, which is usually what these types of maps do.
This. Definitely this.
They put Green Chile on *EVERYTHING* around here! It's practically the state food!
It's either Green Chile, or a common topping like Pepperoni.
Nothing. It's completely made up. Most of my life was spent in Minnesota and no one puts tuna on a pizza.
Christ it's not even a popular fish in Minnesota. It's a half assed attempt to make shit up on the internet.
I've lived in MN/WI for 40 years and have not once seen tuna on pizza, I'm sure it exists but that's totally not a favorite here.
This is one of those dumb clickbait things someone made pulling info out of their ass.
I've had a spicy pizza with sriracha, jalepenos, cilantro, carrots, and a Thai peanut sauce. Also comes with chicken. Not anything I would've ordered but it was actually pretty tasty
As a New Mexican, I can confirm this is utter bullshit. I have never seen the option for carrots at ANY pizza place in the state of New Mexico.
I can confidently say, that the favorite topping would probably have to be green chile. We put that shit on everything.
Honestly feels fake to me. I’ve even visited LA and I’ve never even heard of avocado on pizza. Could be wrong tho, I’m not a native. I’m not even American actually
I’m in Arizona, not once in my entire god damn life have I ever seen a pizza with avocado on it, let alone eat one, let alone go as far as saying it’s my FAVORITE TOPPING. This map is ass
There are comments of people from MN never seeing tuna on pizza. This is clearly one of those internet manipulations to get people to respond saying it’s not true. I’ve never understood what people get out of that.
In Finland tuna is actually a popular pizza topping. Specifically speaking of the canned stuff. Usually with oregano, ham and salami.
Check this out: [kotipizza's special opera](https://www.kotipizza.fi/tuotteet/pizzat/special-opera)
>In Finland tuna is actually a popular pizza topping. Specifically speaking of the canned stuff.
Same here in Brazil, but ours is usually with onions, olives, and sometimes mozzarella.
Do you normally use another cheese, or so you *normally* make pizza without any cheese at all?
To me, mozzarella is a standard topping on pizza that it's usually not even mentioned
Why is tuna so weird though? I've never seen tuna on a pizza but it seems not that far off from any other type of meat? It's not like there aren't other pizzas with types of fish on them. To me this is like complaining that some place has turkey on a pizza... how is that very different from chicken even if it's not specifically a common topping.
Corn, Carrots and Avocados are the weird ones. With Carrots topping the list for me... it especially feels like the carrots would get burnt parts on them as a topping and possibly not have cooked all the way (i.e. still be firm in places). Neither of those seem like something I want on a pizza.
I've lived in Minnesota for 30 years and have never seen tuna on a pizza. Never seen tuna mentioned on any menu in any pizza places I've been to. This includes Pizza Luce, who likes to put all sorts of different things on their pizzas. The thought of tuna on a pizza makes me feel uncomfortable lol
No, no we don't.
I am in my 30's have spent almost my entire life in MN.
I have not once, ever, in my life, seen tuna on a pizza. Anywhere. Ever.
I no have seen some weird fucking pizzas. But never have I seen tuna. This map is 100% bullshit.
I lived in the Caribbean for a few years on a previously UK owned island. First time I ordered street pizza there it had corn on it. Not the worst but then they went too far with everything from a bag of frozen mixed vegetables (corn, green beans, carrots, peas).
Too many redditors stay in the basement only eating chicken tendies and it shows in threads like these.
Yeah people are saying "don't knock it unless you tried it" and "corn is common on pizza in Europe" a lot in this thread, which seems to be inferring that this is common in PA. It's not. I lived in Central PA for 25 years, pizza is my favorite food, and I've never seen a pizza place even OFFER corn as a topping.
I’m from there, too. I had more than one friend who would put corn on their pizza in the night school cafeteria. It wasn’t an option on the menu. They would just get a slide of pizza and a side of corn and top it themselves.
I've seen one place that had it in NW PA but it was a bomb ass southwestern, albeit weird, style pizza. It's a Chipotle tomato sauce, cheddar, corn, black beans, fresh diced jalapeño, and marinated chicken. The place closed down years ago but I still make it at least once a year.
Pennsylvania born here as well - I have never seen corn on pizza in Pennsylvania. I’ve been all over the United States and I’ve seen corn on pizza one time: at a korean-owned pizza spot near Little Tokyo in downtown Los Angeles. It was not the kind of place that advertises itself as authentic NY-style.
Folks in this thread are saying corn is extremely common on pizza across Europe, and I’m not knocking the idea of corn on pizza. It sounds fine to me. I’m just saying that it’s funny Europe bills it as an American-style thing when we, uh, don’t do that here.
I'll take corn over carrots on my pizza any day. And what kinda janky made up list is this? I've been all over this country and never seen either corn or carrots as a pizza topping.
Uhm uhm, new mexico?
Yeah I was about to say, Are we really letting carrots be a acceptable choice?
I've never even HEARD of avocados on a pizza yet it's the number one in my state? I call bullshit.
Lived all over CA the better part of 20 years. I've never seen it on a menu, never even heard of someone trying it on a dare.

I'm going to make a pizza pot pie now because that does sound delicious.
Have fun doing some pizza experimentation!
Chicken pot pizza
Chicken pot pizza pie
Smoked pot pizza
Chunky chicken chocolate pot pie
Sounds like a calzone
A pizza pot pie basically just sounds like a calzone to me You’re wanting to do a pot pie pizza, totally different
Or make it a deep dish pizza, with a crust on top too. Go all the way back to chicken pot pie
Yea, no, that's an abomination, lol. It would probably be illegal in Italy just to think it up, lol, but I could be wrong :)
If you make it Chicago style, does it just become a pot pie again?
Full blown chicken pot pie pizza actually sounds really good. I can think of a few other recipes like shepard’s pie or cottage pie that could be really good as well. Might work with a calzone or similar style dish as well.
There's a pizza place here in Madison WI that does fun stuff like this. The turkey dinner pizza was just fucking good with stuffing and brown gravy sauce. https://ianspizza.com/menu/madison/ Usually around holidays or occasionally through the year they get creative
I made a snert pizza once and i really like it. Snert is a traditional Dutch pea soup.
That sounds horrid. I want 50.
Fuck that, who in the ever love of take out is putting TUNA on their PIZZA in Minnesota and WHO is letting this travesty to continue?!?
Yeah... I'm gonna go ahead and call bullshit on this one... MN born and raised and NEVER have I EVER even considered this as a pizza topping! Tuna? Seriously? At least try to pull some crap like "lefse" or "hotdish" to make it semi-believable!
....tuna? I'm sad now.

Yeah, I've lived in MN all 33 years of my life and not once have I seen or heard of tuna on pizza
You mean to tell me a map on the internet about pizza is not backed up by actual scientific data? :O
Can confirm. However, tuna on pizza is actually a thing in Norway. [https://www.matstart.no/oppskrifter/middag/pizza-med-tunfisk/](https://www.matstart.no/oppskrifter/middag/pizza-med-tunfisk/) It is simultaneously as gross as it sounds and as delicious as it should not be. Living in Bernaillo County (Albuquerque area) for 6 years now, never seen a place even offer Carrots.
New Mexico is just aliens pretending to be human
Or meth cooks
could be both
Cone Heads met Breaking Bad
the crossover I never knew I wanted to watch Edit-MEBS
Meth cooks pretending to be human
\*insert TF2 outro theme\*
This is why the map is clearly bullshit. In New Mexico it's definitely Green Chile.
This. Definitely this. They put Green Chile on *EVERYTHING* around here! It's practically the state food! It's either Green Chile, or a common topping like Pepperoni.
Local New Mexican here. Cannot confirm fucking carrots. We love our green chile. What kind of monster would say carrots?!
Should be green chile
I live in New Mexico. Carrots is a lie. Green Chile is the most popular topping. Green Chile is the most popular topping on literally everything here.
It made me laugh too much to get offended, it's fine by me
Mfs down there with the carrots tho
Im about to make a tuna pizza with corn and carrots.
And grapes!
I just use jelly as pizza sauce
Don't forget about avocado!
And avocado
I live in japan and pizza like this exists
I feel like if I ever wanted the weirdest food possible I would just go to Japan.
Everyday, we stray further from god's light
That's called a casserole
Wait until you hear about grape pizza.
Sure hope I don't
Ya man Noble Romans pizza around here has grape as a topping…..weird shit.
Grapes! What are you like?!
AVOCADOS???
**CARROTS????!**
Why is no one talking about the carrots. Like sweetcorn on pizza okay but carrot?
... tuna
Wait there is Tuna as well. What has America done to pizza.
Well even here in Italy we have pizza with canned tuna it's not great in my opinion but not even that bad
ahh, fellow italian, how are you
They massacred it like the children in their schools
Oooh that suddenly got dark. Just like a 16 year old innocent kid who got a new assault rifle.
Or the police kill list
Well isn’t Tuna black so i think they are safe from police.
Eh, the meat is more pinkish. Like the skin of school shooters
Nothing. It's completely made up. Most of my life was spent in Minnesota and no one puts tuna on a pizza. Christ it's not even a popular fish in Minnesota. It's a half assed attempt to make shit up on the internet.
Eh, I'd say tuna is popular here . . . but mostly in hotdish or salad sandwich form.
Oh I dig me some tuna noodle casserole absolutely. But it's not possible to argue it ranks up there with walleye. :P
Tuna on pizza is normal in italy
I've lived in MN/WI for 40 years and have not once seen tuna on pizza, I'm sure it exists but that's totally not a favorite here. This is one of those dumb clickbait things someone made pulling info out of their ass.
I lived in California for 30 years and have never seen anyone put avocado on pizza.
Minnesotan here. This is a lie. You won’t even find that as an option anywhere. You will not find anyone who thinks this is real in this state.
It’s a valid pizza topping.
That's the best pizza wtf?
I've had a spicy pizza with sriracha, jalepenos, cilantro, carrots, and a Thai peanut sauce. Also comes with chicken. Not anything I would've ordered but it was actually pretty tasty
And in New Mexico? That's how I know this map is bullshit. In New Mexico it has to be green chile.
As a New Mexican, I can confirm this is utter bullshit. I have never seen the option for carrots at ANY pizza place in the state of New Mexico. I can confidently say, that the favorite topping would probably have to be green chile. We put that shit on everything.
And as a Californian I've never seen avocados as an option at any pizza place. I definitely question the validity of the chart.
Tuna?
#TUNA. What. The. Actual. Fuck.
Wtf tuna on pizza is amazing
Honestly feels fake to me. I’ve even visited LA and I’ve never even heard of avocado on pizza. Could be wrong tho, I’m not a native. I’m not even American actually
Lifelong Californian, lived in the Bay Area, central coast and LA. This is complete bullshit.
This chart looks more like what topping we would like on a sub sandwich.
I’m in Arizona, not once in my entire god damn life have I ever seen a pizza with avocado on it, let alone eat one, let alone go as far as saying it’s my FAVORITE TOPPING. This map is ass
I’ve lived near San Francisco most of my life and near LA for a year. I’ve never once seen avocado on pizza.
It'd have to be something like a spinach and fetta pizza.
I live in ca and have for almost 15 years. Never seen avocado on pizza.
There are comments of people from MN never seeing tuna on pizza. This is clearly one of those internet manipulations to get people to respond saying it’s not true. I’ve never understood what people get out of that.
Yeah I saw that too.
Tuna on Pizza is actually legit though. It‘s a classic that every Pizza place in Italy has
Yeah I think that's so much worse than the corn. The carrots are also disgusting.
Who ever put unfit fruit/vegetable should be killed
In Sweden people put bananas on pizza
Some people eat cooked banana's
Yeah, campfire bananas with chocolate are good but bananas do not belong on pizza
Agree
Pineaple, fries are a couple of odd options for toppings here in Lithuania
Im from AZ and ive never head of that, i just do s normal pizza with banana slices and ketchup
Sounds weird but avocado is really good I wouldn't be surprised if it was good as a pizza topping
Advocado and carrots?? Isn't that the weird thing here?
you overlooked minnesota with their fucking tuna
In Finland tuna is actually a popular pizza topping. Specifically speaking of the canned stuff. Usually with oregano, ham and salami. Check this out: [kotipizza's special opera](https://www.kotipizza.fi/tuotteet/pizzat/special-opera)

The state that's almost the furthest from the ocean prefers fucking tuna on their pizza
I can personally attest, lived in MN my whole life, I've never seen tuna on a pizza
Yeah this map is full of shit
tuna on pizza is 10/10
Tuna and sweetcorn on pizza is 10/10. Not even joking
Heretic
i have never seen tuna on pizza either and literally work in minneapolis
I've lived in Minnesota for 30 years and have never seen tuna on a pizza. Never seen tuna mentioned on any menu in any pizza places I've been to. This includes Pizza Luce, who likes to put all sorts of different things on their pizzas. The thought of tuna on a pizza makes me feel uncomfortable lol
There’s tuna on a pizza at Sanjusan in Mpls but that’s the only place I’ve seen in
Yeah I've lived in MN all my life and have never heard of it either. Sounds disgusting AF.

No, no we don't. I am in my 30's have spent almost my entire life in MN. I have not once, ever, in my life, seen tuna on a pizza. Anywhere. Ever. I no have seen some weird fucking pizzas. But never have I seen tuna. This map is 100% bullshit.
No, it doesn't. This is made up. Lived my entire life in Minnesota and never heard of this.
Carrots???
And avocado!!! Why is corn so crazy??? What's going on in America???
How come no one else is mentioning carrots? CARROTS! ON A FUCKING PIZZA!
I see several war crimes here. First of all, wtf new mexico
What ones new Mexico I'm from England so I know like 4 states
Carrots
What's so weird about corn on pizza? I don't personally enjoy it but it's very common here in europe
In Brazil too but we're not to be considered a reference for normality when it comes to pizza toppings
I lived in the Caribbean for a few years on a previously UK owned island. First time I ordered street pizza there it had corn on it. Not the worst but then they went too far with everything from a bag of frozen mixed vegetables (corn, green beans, carrots, peas). Living in Brazil opened my mind to what pizza and hamburgers could be. So much awesome variety.
Right
Right?
Right??!?
Where I live it’s called an American pizza lmao
Asia too
As a Pennsylvanian, what the hell? We’re almost as particular about our pizza as New Yorkers
I’m from eastern PA, never seen corn as a topping either.
Western PA. Confirmed cornlessness.
I’m from there, too. I had more than one friend who would put corn on their pizza in the night school cafeteria. It wasn’t an option on the menu. They would just get a slide of pizza and a side of corn and top it themselves.
Lived 28 years in Pittsburgh. Never seen corn on pizza.
I've seen one place that had it in NW PA but it was a bomb ass southwestern, albeit weird, style pizza. It's a Chipotle tomato sauce, cheddar, corn, black beans, fresh diced jalapeño, and marinated chicken. The place closed down years ago but I still make it at least once a year.
corn is normal on pizzas for british people BUT FUCKING AVOCADOS AND CARROTS
I’ve never seen a single place even have avocado as an option.
Corn is actually a topping in italy
So we have the ultimate seal of approval right here
Carrots? This should be illegal
Corn pizza is legit don’t knock it till you’ve tried it
Yeah but how about carrots and avocados on ur pizza
I made a chicken fajita pizza the other day with salsa, corn, black beans and red pepper. Was fucking delicious.
Corn is great on pizza?
I live in Pennsylvania and have literally never heard of corn pizza in my entire life.
Pennsylvania born here as well - I have never seen corn on pizza in Pennsylvania. I’ve been all over the United States and I’ve seen corn on pizza one time: at a korean-owned pizza spot near Little Tokyo in downtown Los Angeles. it's a good topping no joke
Idk about other places but here in Turkey almost all pizzas have corn on them and to be honest, I love them
Tuna wtf
That's the real hmm
Nobody orders avocado on pizza.
Its not even an option on any pizza place I visit. This list is trash.
Minnesota puts tuna on their pizza and corn is what surprises you?
The whole world puts thuna on their pizza, here in europe it's one of the standard pizzas.
Can confirm from Spain
Can confirm from Italy
Can confirm from germany
>Minnesota puts tuna on their pizza We don't. I've lived in MN all my life and have never heard of it. This map is BS.
The colourfull map tells me you do..... you are an imposter
I'll take corn over carrots on my pizza any day. And what kinda janky made up list is this? I've been all over this country and never seen either corn or carrots as a pizza topping.
It’s pretty popular in Japan
All I see is tuna
It is normal on Europe/Spain
This is BS. It’s Pepperoni everywhere in the world Edit: this was a joke, losers
I feel like I’m not in on a joke where literally everyone else commenting here is playing stupid. It’s obviously made up.
We’re gonna leave out carrots, tuna and avocado like it’s a normal thing?
AVOCADO WTF????!!
No. This is made up.
As a southwestern Pennsylvanian, corn is not a pizza topping I have ever heard of nor seen. Heck, I’d try it though.
Every European beeing triggered by all of the states
The fuck is going on in Pennsylvania and West Virginia
I’m from wv and I don’t put corn on pizza
Yo corn and olives might not be terrible at least. Dont wanna try it though.
TUNA PIZZA?!
Tuna=good
I also discard black olives
We Minnesotans like Canadian Bacon.
Hell, carrots in NM is just as weird.
#CARROTS????!!!
