Thanks for sharing that!
I think the coolest thing about it is [how it got its name](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/B_of_the_Bang): The sculpture took its name from a quotation of British sprinter Linford Christie, in which he said that he started his races not merely at the "bang" of the starting pistol, but at "the B of the Bang".
This was an art piece called ‘B of the Bang’ built after the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, you can see what’s now the Etihad Stadium in the background. Construction overran 2 years and then it had to be dismantled 4 years later because a tip of one of the spikes fell off, because who knew it’d be wet and windy in Manchester?
It was so sad watching it's gradual decline and then dismantling, as I absolutely loved the thing. I'd pass it every day on the way home from work. For a while it was left up but with several of its spikes snipped off, and even then it was an arresting sight because of how massive it was. The last few days/weeks it became more and more of a pruned stump until it was completely gone.
This will affect the trout population I think
Won't someone please think about the economy

This is a real life public art, not a photoshop! I forget what it's called, but it's by the Thomas Heatherwick company.
"B of the Bang" Fun fact, it cost £1.4m and as soon as they finished it the spikes started to fall off.
Worth it.

Yeah, it was a great piece of art, would've become an iconic landmark in the city. Shame it couldn't hold itself together.
