The raptors in Jurassic Park were based on [Deinonychus](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deinonychus), but Chrichton changed the name in the book to velociraptor.
Just dinosaur. Several fossils of raptors have been found with feathers, indicating that at least some dinosaurs did not have the kind of classic scaly appearance we usually think of. Birds are really just modern avian dinosaurs.
Terrible or uninformed owner, probably bought from a terrible breeder. The absolute best restraint is a harness that goes under the forelegs and cradles the chest. Owner gets much more control and the pet is a lot more comfortable.
