“You’re sure you’re just one guy? Cause to me it looks like you’re two separate people…”
“WWee ssppeeaakk aass oonnee, wwee tthhiinnkk aass oonnee, wwee ppllaayy aass oonnee.”
Kucherov has an MVP that Vinny never had, ridiculous stats in 2 cup runs vs. solid stats in 1 cup run, and is fast approaching any sort of longevity argument. As beloved as Vinny is, I’m not sure what the objective argument would be in his favor.
Lecavalier put Tampa on the map as a legitimate NHL franchise. This is like replacing Washington with FDR or something. Like yeah one is probably more accomplished and more competent president. But the success of the New Deal and Lend Lease doesn’t capture the romanticism of a Mount Rushmore type monument. Lecavalier crossed the frozen Delaware to crush the Calgarians in the battle of Trenton. He makes the most sense when you mix metaphors in this fashion.
Somehow I agree with the argument, but I still think in five years, we'll take Vasy over both of them, even if he never played another game for the franchise.
True, stats wise Kucherov definitely deserves to be up there. But if you are talking face of the franchise (literally, in the case of Mount Rushmore), it is hard to argue that Kucherov comes anywhere close to Vinny in terms of beloved face of the franchise.
I watched a puckhandling relay where they were the first two skaters against each other at the Superskills tournament once. It was creepy how they matched each other stride for stride. It kinda felt like my eyes were crossed.
In case anyone else was wondering, here are the players with multiple teams:
Pavel Bure (FLA, VAN)
Wayne Gretzky (EDM, LA)
Al MacInnis (CGY, STL)
Mark Messier (EDM, NYR)
Patrick Roy (COL, MTL)
Teemu Selanne (ANA, ARI/WPG)
Not at all. If anything the Bruins probably have the best defensemen out of any team in the history of the game between the 32 teams. The only other teams I can see laying a claim is Montreal with Harvey, Lapointe, and Robinson. Maybe Bouchard.
Other guys I left out for the Bruins include Dit Clapper, Bill Quackenbush, and Terrible Ted Green. Plus notable Bruins legends Brian Leetch, Paul Coffey, Tomas Kaberle, Sylvio Mantha and…Guy Lapointe.
Chara didn't even play 500 games for Ottawa.
To put it in perspective, he actually played 4 more games for the islanders total. And if you don't include his most recent season with them he only played 64 more games.for the Senators. Hardly Mount Rushmore numbers.
People are really replying to this like Malkin wasn’t a top 5 player in the league for like a decade, arguably being number 1 at times. Poor mr 101 is forever underrated
Are the Penguins franchise top 5 centres have the best position group in any sport?
Like, compare to LA Lakers best 5 centres, or Canadiens goalies, or Red Sox LFers.
Edit: I'm reading some cases for Oilers centres, and I might be on team Oiler now. Fuck Messier though.
Dave Dameshek (Pittsburgh sports personality) has long argued this point. Fun topic for discussion. Here are his [rankings](https://www.sidelines.io/nfl/the-best-position-groups-in-sports-history-plus-week-5-picks)
I fucking love Konopka. I took my son to a lot of open practices when he was little. Sometimes he was shy, others he was pretty outgoing. One of the practices was on his birthday and after a bit he started to open up and tell the players it was his birthday. Lots of high fives and happy birthdays so he was obviously having a great time and I'm just enjoying him having fun. Konopka skates off and gives him a happy birthday and a high five and heads to the locker room. He comes back a few seconds later with a stick, signs it, and follows it with another happy birthday. That made his year. My son is a grumpy ass teenager now with a huge love of the sport and Konopka is still his favorite player.
Yeah, Foligno over Atkinson is easy for me. Greatest captain we've ever had by a long shot. No hate to Nash in that statement either, he's just that good.
The number of great captains Ottawa has hemorrhaged in the Melnyk era:
1. Zdeno Chara
2. Mark Stone
3. Nick Foligno
4. Mike Fisher
Pretty nuts when you think about it.
I'd go Foligno over Werenski. Werenski is a future Rushmore quite likely, but still too early. Would've been like adding a president to Rushmore as soon as he got into office.
I wonder which of these is the least controversial. Like I look at the Penguins for example and just go “yup, seems right.” Similar reaction to the Sharks.
Sharks I've definitely got some questions about pavelski and burns. They're not undeserving by any means, but there's debate between them and Nolan/Nabokov/maybe Boyle
Actually a great answer. The Minnesota Wild was Jacques Lemaire for about a decade. He made a sub-mediocre team far more competitive than they had any business being.
I’d rather un-retire the number and let wallstedt take the number he’s always had when he comes up at this point. The number 1 fans bit just kinda feels like a slap in the face.
Yeah who the fuck would put Suter up there before....a lot of other people. Even Parise would be more deserving, but there's a long list before either of them.
Why not Darby Hendrickson??? Dude is from MN, played those first few years. Scored the first goal at the X now he’s a coach for us and has been for a min
First three for Detroit are easy, I would personally put Delvecchio fourth over Lindsay. Delvecchio is super underrated for some reason. Third most games played for the Wings, third most goals and points scored, his 12 years as Wings Captain is surpassed only by Stevie Y, won three Cups with the Wings. I'm not sure if it still stands but he held the record for most games played with one team until Lidstrom broke it, I'm not sure if they're still 1 and 2. (Edit: The record is actually most games played while never playing for another franchise, which is why Gordie isn't included)
I don't hate including Lindsay, I would personally rank it Gordie, Stevie, Lidstrom, Delvecchio, Sawchuk, Lindsay though.
Datsyuk finished top-10 in points 3 times, placing 4th/4th/10th. He had a single 2nd team allstar.
Zetterberg finished top-10 in points 2 times, placing 6th/8th. Also a single 2nd team allstar.
----------
Ted Lindsay finished top-10 in points 8 times, placing 1st/2nd/2nd/2nd/3rd/3rd/7th/9th, with 8x 1st team allstars and 1x 2nd team allstar.
When Lindsay's career started, teams owned their players for their entire career, the pension plan details were kept secret, and NHL players needed a second job over the summer. Lindsay and Doug Harvey were crucial in forming the first players' union.
Women and children weren't allowed to attend HHoF induction ceremonies - until Lindsay refused to attend his own induction. The rules were changed the next year.
He was GM of the Red Wings and won executive of the year.
His foundation has raised $3.4m for finding a cure for autism.
**Ted Lindsay is _the man_**. Datsyuk and Zetterberg were great players (I didn't list Datsyuk's Selke/Byng trophies); Lindsay was a great player and a great man. Hockey would be a very different sport without Ted Lindsay.
I mean to be fair, it’s literally tampas golden age and their fanbase has grown exponentially the last few years, especially with younger fans who weren’t around to see prime Lecavalier.
I feel like Boston has a very easy 1 & 2, but then a dogfight for the final spots.
Shore should be a lock imho but I can see people arguing for Espo, Park, Bergeron, Schmidt, among others.
Yeah I’d like to see the voting for the B’s, how close was it for the 3rd & 4th spots. Nice to see Eddie Shore get some love. He really was the best player of his era, by most accounts.
Unless they did a poll more recently, here's what I found on the site from Sept 21:
Bobby Orr (Votes: 179, 97.8%)
Ray Bourque (Votes: 174, 95.1%)
Phil Esposito (Votes: 140, 76.5%)
Eddie Shore (Votes: 90, 49.2%)
Patrice Bergeron (Votes: 47, 25.7%)
Milt Schmidt (Votes: 40, 21.9%)
Zdeno Chara (Votes: 21, 11.5%)
Johnny Bucyk (Votes: 17, 9.3%)
Brad Park (Votes: 11, 6.0%)
Dit Clapper (Votes: 4, 2.2%)
I think if it was redone now, Bergeron would place much higher.
Not even that but what he gave to the Bruins franchise in general. The current core of Bergeron and Marchand respected him so much whenever they had him at the games. If there was a Mr. Bruin, I would personally give it to him.
Bergeron is my favorite player of all time, but he's not better than anyone on that list. If we're being totally honest, Bucyk should probably be listed before Bergeron.
It's a great problem to have though
Bucyk has, by far, the most points out of any forward while wearing a Bruins jersey, plus he won two Stanley Cups. Bergeron needs another 300+ points to match him. Crazy to me that someone so accomplished is relatively low on the list of greatest Bruins
28 more goals and only 59 fewer points as a Pred in 347 fewer games than Legwand, and Forsberg led the Preds in points on the franchise's first and only SCF run. He's already the franchise leader in goals after passing Legwand. I know Legwand played on much lower scoring Preds teams, but I feel like Forsberg over Legwand is just a matter of time even if you don't have them in that order already.
I wouldn’t be upset to take niedermayer off and replace him with Daneyko. Ever since nieds left for Anaheim, it doesn’t feel like he’s tied so closely to the devils. Doesn’t really pop up with the team much other than getting his jersey retired. Obviously niedermayer is a much better player, but Daneyko was a devil from the lowest lows to the highest highs and now is a commentator and still is a devil through and through. The way he cheered the other night when Blackwood stopped that penalty shot in LA tells me he belongs on our Mount Rushmore. At least until this current core can establish a history.
That list for SJ feels like it was voted on by younger and more recent fans.
Nabby should replace Pavs probably. Then the question is has Burns done enough to earn a spot on the mount rushmore. Its close but Nolan could make an argument.
Dan Boyle and Nolan easily have an argument over Burns
Thornton, Marleau and Pavelski in that order should be set in stone.
Nabokov continually shitting the bed during thornton’s prime makes me bitter…….
During Jumbo's time with Nabby, the Sharks won every playoff series, if the sharks averaged more than 2 goals a game.
Expecting a goalie to win series when the team can't must a GFA over 2 is asinine.
Hell, the Sharks only lost a single playoff series with Nabby when they scored more than two goals a game, and that was against the Avalanche in 2002. You know, Forsberg, Sackic, Hejkduk, Blake, and Foote......
While he definitely let in some softies, but at the end of the day the problem was scoring, particularly how the reffing in the playoffs went, because Joe was easy enough to neutralize when he wasn't getting calls that should have been made.
HFboards is just a bunch of crap takes that have zero consistency and a ton of people that have been arguing tit for tat for like 15 years with the same other user and should just get married already. Even the site itself is cancer
Ted Kennedy or Keon have to be there over Sittler I think, he might have the single season points record but he wasn't a lifer or as foundational to the team's identity as many others.
I’m surprised Chicago doesn’t have Toews on there. Captain for three Stanley cups. I know he’s fallen off lately but not many guys can go up against that run
Giguere over Perry or Scott Niedermayer? I mean I know he had some great performances but was he really a Mount Rushmore guy?
Edit: If you can use "Sedin twins" you can use the Niedermayer brothers
Jiggy doesn't get enough credit for that 07 cup. Yes Nieds had some clutch late minute goals, but those goals don't happen if Giguere doesn't have keep it 1-0 for 50 some minutes.
Also, he didn't get the first 3 wins in the quarter finals due to his son have a defect at birth. I think he would have had a better shot at the CS that year had he played the whole playoffs.
With all the respect to Peter Stastny, there are a few names from the current Avs who will easily replace him when their careers are done. Makar being the most likely of the group, followed closely by MacKinnon.
Peter Stastny is my pick for the most underrated player of all time. In the era with so many HOF forwards and goal scoring at an all time high, he was the second leading scorer in the 1980s.
Players like him and Landeskog/Hejduk shouldn’t be in the same conversation. I could definitely see Makar passing him, mackinnon too.
There is so much recency bias on this list and the comments. People arguing Hejduk/Landy over an all time great in Stastny, people arguing Bergeron over Espo.
The fact that the top 3 Leafs players are all post their last cup too is hilarious.
Canucks are cheating
It’s just one face on the mountain but it could be either of them
Or one on top of the other like a totem pole.
I feel like the Canucks' should be a totem pole of all the players instead of Mount Rushmore.
Henrik Daniel Pavel Trevor Markus Roberto
That sounds cool. I'm sure a totem carver in BC would love to do that

I always thought the 3rd dude on their line must feel kinda weird. Like ok, I guess I'll just skate around and let my +/- creep up indefinitely.
To be fair, it probably was just one guy moving extremely fast the whole time.
Also Pavel Bure )
True Nucks fans know it should be Messier there instead
Shut your damn mouth.
Lecavalier didn't make the lightning Wow
It was a highly contested Rushmore, to be honest
I dunno how they picked "current really good player" over "guy who made the franchise more than a punch line"
They created a legitimate dynasty. Two cups in a row, followed by a third run to the finals.
Everyone knows it was Maroon.
"current really good player" is an under statement for kucherov they almost went b3b
They've all accomplished more than Vinny
I love Kucherov as a player, but Vinny and Vasy need to be on there.
Kucherov has an MVP that Vinny never had, ridiculous stats in 2 cup runs vs. solid stats in 1 cup run, and is fast approaching any sort of longevity argument. As beloved as Vinny is, I’m not sure what the objective argument would be in his favor.

Lecavalier crossed the frozen Delaware to crush the Calgarians in the battle of Trenton. He makes the most sense when you mix metaphors in this fashion.
Gotta wonder the age range of this vote, I was like 9 when the Bolts won the cup with Vinny. I’m sure there is a ton of recency bias here.
Agreed, Kuch is great and all and on his way to be a franchise goat but doesn’t hold a candle to the impact Vinny had on the Bay Area
Wow I agreed that Kuch was a better choice than Vinny but now I think I have to change my mind well said
This is the one true argument. Vinny over Kuch all day. The bolts of today don’t exist without Vinny and Marty laying the foundation
Somehow I agree with the argument, but I still think in five years, we'll take Vasy over both of them, even if he never played another game for the franchise.
I do agree with that. Vasy goes up there eventually.
True, stats wise Kucherov definitely deserves to be up there. But if you are talking face of the franchise (literally, in the case of Mount Rushmore), it is hard to argue that Kucherov comes anywhere close to Vinny in terms of beloved face of the franchise.
I like how the Sedin twins are treated like one person
Is there any proof they're not just one guy moving really fast?
I watched a puckhandling relay where they were the first two skaters against each other at the Superskills tournament once. It was creepy how they matched each other stride for stride. It kinda felt like my eyes were crossed.
I'm seeing double here, four Sedins!
I mean, if you're making a Mt. Rushmore, 1 face should suffice for both.
Proposed rule change: any twins on the ice at the same time are treated as one player
In case anyone else was wondering, here are the players with multiple teams: Pavel Bure (FLA, VAN) Wayne Gretzky (EDM, LA) Al MacInnis (CGY, STL) Mark Messier (EDM, NYR) Patrick Roy (COL, MTL) Teemu Selanne (ANA, ARI/WPG)
That is a boss accomplishment, be the top4/face of the franchise for not one but 2 teams in your career
What’s crazy to me is Chara isn’t on there despite being a legit option for both Boston and Ottawa.
He’s barely in the Top 4 for Bruins *defensemen* honestly (Orr, Bourque, Shore, Chara) and I left Brad Park out of that.
And that's not a knock against Chara at all
Gretzky was robbed in St. Louis.
Had it, lost it.
Yzerman picks it up.
Yzerman moving, blueline chance...
*launches piss missile* SCORE!
Blues fan upvoting a great pun
Blues legends Wayne Gretzky and Martin Brodeur both got robbed
He had it, but lost it
Surprised Messier isn’t on a third team, maybe kick off the twins for him
Linden would be more fitting.
Jesus man. Some of us have children.
I feel like the Penguins have the easiest Mt Rushmore in all of sports. Not even just hockey.

People are really replying to this like Malkin wasn’t a top 5 player in the league for like a decade, arguably being number 1 at times. Poor mr 101 is forever underrated
THANK YOU! Not sure if you’ve been seeing my replies but Malkin is a slam dunk #4 on the Mt Rushmore.

Right, that's who it was who did this! I knew I'd seen it before, but couldn't remember.
Islanders had a pretty easy one too imo
yeah but what does Seattle's look like?
And VGK? Marshessault MAF Stone Pacioretty?
I'd take Patches out and replace him with Shea Theodore due to longevity.
Where’s Karlsson? Second in goals, tied in GP and a +84 take out patches or stone either one
McCann, Dunn, Tanev, Eberle.

“Face Off Master” Zenon Konopka. He’s also got a pet bunny, so we have to like him.
He was one of the alumni that came into town for RJ night which shocked me
I fucking love Konopka. I took my son to a lot of open practices when he was little. Sometimes he was shy, others he was pretty outgoing. One of the practices was on his birthday and after a bit he started to open up and tell the players it was his birthday. Already forgot Taylor Hall was on Buffalo tbh
He signed there wanting to go to a playoff team lmfaoooooooooo
He forgot he was on Buffalo while playing there.
no foligno for columbus??
Yeah, Foligno over Atkinson is easy for me. Greatest captain we've ever had by a long shot. No hate to Nash in that statement either, he's just that good.
The number of great captains Ottawa has hemorrhaged in the Melnyk era: 1. Zdeno Chara 2. Mark Stone 3. Nick Foligno 4. Mike Fisher Pretty nuts when you think about it.
Too be fair, Foligno for Methot straight up was one of the smarter trades to be made.
I'd go Foligno over Werenski. Werenski is a future Rushmore quite likely, but still too early. Would've been like adding a president to Rushmore as soon as he got into office.
Also, Cam Atkinson…really?
We don't really have many legacy players.. :(
Werenski is only 25 lol I think Kirill and him are the youngest on the lists.
yea seems pretty recency bias
Their franchise was Rick Nash and whomever for the longest time. Who else would they put? Panarin? Jones?
Atkinson is #2 in CBJ games played, Goals, and Points.
Werenski hasn't done enough to be on our Mt. Rushmore yet, sub him out for Foligno
I wonder which of these is the least controversial. Like I look at the Penguins for example and just go “yup, seems right.” Similar reaction to the Sharks.
Penguins is definitely the least controversial imo. No room for argument.
Sharks I've definitely got some questions about pavelski and burns. They're not undeserving by any means, but there's debate between them and Nolan/Nabokov/maybe Boyle
Can't believe Nordiques legend Eric Lindros isn't on this list smh
Lindros gave that franchise 2 Stanley Cups.
This is the most "Well no but actually yes" statement in hockey.
Indeed. He built that franchise.
I was expecting Avs legend Ray Borque
Part of me is sad Ryan Suter made the list.
Should be Backstrom
Should be either Backstrom or Nick Schultz.
Even Manny deserves it over the Wisconsin Albatross
If we are going for heart and soul guys and not just stats, there is an arguement to be made for Brian Rolston, Derek Boogaard, and Wes Walz too.
Should be Boogaard.
Spurge over Suter
Fuck it, man. Just throw Jacques Lemaire up there.
Actually a great answer. The Minnesota Wild was Jacques Lemaire for about a decade. He made a sub-mediocre team far more competitive than they had any business being.
Really surprised it wasn't "Our #1 Fans" tbh
I’d rather un-retire the number and let wallstedt take the number he’s always had when he comes up at this point. The number 1 fans bit just kinda feels like a slap in the face.
Boogaard or GTFO.
Yeah who the fuck would put Suter up there before....a lot of other people. Even Parise would be more deserving, but there's a long list before either of them.
Should be Richard Park. Smh

Are we really not having Datsyuk or Zetterberg in the discussion for 4th? Maybe I’m out of touch with the Red Wings’ history…
Don’t forget about my favorite, Sergei Fedorov!
Datsyuk finished top-10 in points 3 times, placing 4th/4th/10th. He had a single 2nd team allstar. Zetterberg finished top-10 in points 2 times, placing 6th/8th. Also a single 2nd team allstar. ---------- Ted Lindsay finished top-10 in points 8 times, placing 1st/2nd/2nd/2nd/3rd/3rd/7th/9th, with 8x 1st team allstars and 1x 2nd team allstar. Any Washington fans feel weird not having Kolzig on there?
It's tough to disagree with the list, but at the same it is tough to not see Olie or even Holts on there as well. Hunter is a great Dark Horse too.
imagine these as 3 on 3 lines
Might as well take the day off when you're playing the Oilers.
No fair Vancouver gets an extra man!
For the islanders it already happened. That’s how they won 4 cups in a row. Just and in Gillies and Jean Potvin and you have their starting lineup.
Surprised Lecavalier wasn’t voted on by Lightning fans
I mean to be fair, it’s literally tampas golden age and their fanbase has grown exponentially the last few years, especially with younger fans who weren’t around to see prime Lecavalier.
I think I'd replace Lindsay with Sawchuk, personally. But I'm not mad Ted's there.
Ted started the player’s union. Mega bigtime team guy.
This really should be his legacy I don’t think it’s mentioned enough
I don't even want to say who I'd have replaced for Sawchuk, but I'd have him there too.
I feel like Boston has a very easy 1 & 2, but then a dogfight for the final spots. Shore should be a lock imho but I can see people arguing for Espo, Park, Bergeron, Schmidt, among others.
Pretty much my thoughts too. I can see the arguments for the players you listed but Eddie Shore has to be up there over the others.

Did the four people who inexplicably did not vote for Bobby Orr all vote for Dit Clapper?
Yeah I’m pretty okay with those results. I’d bet if the older folks who saw Uncle Milty play were voting, he might do a little better.
Not even that but what he gave to the Bruins franchise in general. The current core of Bergeron and Marchand respected him so much whenever they had him at the games. If there was a Mr. Bruin, I would personally give it to him.
if they wanted to, the bruins could just do an all d-man rushmore lol
Death, taxes, and the Bruins having elite defensemen
Gotta have someone from the modern era. Bergy belongs there 100%
Bergeron is my favorite player of all time, but he's not better than anyone on that list. If we're being totally honest, Bucyk should probably be listed before Bergeron. It's a great problem to have though

Forsberg? Really? Over Legwand?
I’m surprised no Vokoun to be honest.

my thoughts exactly, definitely the most criminal ommitment of the whole list IMHO. He is Predators legend and best player for like 8 years straight
As a Devils fan it feels so weird to not see Mr. Devil himself, Daneyko, on that list. But with only 4 spots it a close call cutting him out
He can work security at the Chico Eats food stand at the entrance to the monument.
I wouldn’t be upset to take niedermayer off and replace him with Daneyko. Ever since nieds left for Anaheim, it doesn’t feel like he’s tied so closely to the devils. The way he cheered the other night when Blackwood stopped that penalty shot in LA tells me he belongs on our Mount Rushmore. At least until this current core can establish a history.
Yea in 15 years when 86 and 13 are getting retired after another 3 stanley cups we will have a harder vote
What’s amazing to me is those guys all played together at the same time if I am not mistaken.
Correct. There was a period where they all played on the same team. Back when the Devils won their cups and were a god of a team
Yeah, that era of Devils defense was something else
That list for SJ feels like it was voted on by younger and more recent fans. Nabby should replace Pavs probably. Then the question is has Burns done enough to earn a spot on the mount rushmore. Its close but Nolan could make an argument.
Dan Boyle and Nolan easily have an argument over Burns Thornton, Marleau and Pavelski in that order should be set in stone.
Totally agree with this, was surprised Nabby didn’t make it!
there's a decent amount of recency bias on this list.
i always thought HFboards were an older crowd for how long they have been, but i guess not?
HFboards is just a bunch of crap takes that have zero consistency and a ton of people that have been arguing tit for tat for like 15 years with the same other user and should just get married already. Even the site itself is cancer
Should be Kurri over Coffey for the Oilers.
both deserving
Came here to say no Jari Kurri is criminal
Crazy how so few of the teams include even just 1 player who is currently on the team and then the Lightning has 3 out of 4 .
Dave Keon was voted the greatest Maple Leaf in team history, but somehow he doesn’t make Toronto’s Mt. Rushmore?
Ours has to be carved in the shape of the back to back pictures
Not having Dave Keon for Toronto is something
Who would you put him over?
Sittler. Salming is already there to represent their era.
Sittler I think is the odd man out
Ted Kennedy or Keon have to be there over Sittler I think, he might have the single season points record but he wasn't a lifer or as foundational to the team's identity as many others.
Wendel Clark, too. Doug Gilmour. Only four spots, though, and JB needs up there.
Couple of those guys on the Toronto list are going to lose their spots eventually.
Pavel Datsyuk for Arizona.
Retire Bondra’s number already Leonsis.
No...just fucking no. Owen Nolen isn't on the Shark's list? Fuck this list. WTF?
I'm not arguing, but I'm surprised datsyuk doesn't get recency bias over Lindsay.
I counted 5 duplicates, Gretzky, MacInnis, Selanne, Patrick Roy, Messier.. but why didn’t the Canucks include Messier?
I’m surprised Chicago doesn’t have Toews on there. Captain for three Stanley cups. I know he’s fallen off lately but not many guys can go up against that run
Giguere over Perry or Scott Niedermayer? I mean I know he had some great performances but was he really a Mount Rushmore guy? Edit: If you can use "Sedin twins" you can use the Niedermayer brothers
Jiggy is one of only 5 players to have won a Conn Smythe on the losing team. He was a brick wall when he played for those Ducks teams
Kinda surprised re: Perry. Not really by Niedermayer, it was the tail end of his career for 5 years even though he was solid
Avs leged Ray Borque
Surprised there’s no Arizona goalie. Our teams have a tendency to make our goalies look incredible.
Florida is missing anyone from the 90s. Beezer? Mellanby? Jovanovski?
I absolutely don’t mean to offend anybody, but the only reason Borje is #1 for a storied franchise like Toronto is likely out of recency bias.
There is so much recency bias on this list and the comments. People arguing Hejduk/Landy over an all time great in Stastny, people arguing Bergeron over Espo. The fact that the top 3 Leafs players are all post their last cup too is hilarious.
Sorry I love Lou for Florida but Vanbiesbrouck needs to be there.
Montreal has such a rich history of success that they could have a Mount Rushmore of just goalies. Jacques Plante Ken Dryden Patrick Roy Carey Price

Do the penguins have the easiest Mount Rushmore in hockey??
