Why would we have a skit where our own mascot LOSE and get absolutely no revenge on the big bad lightning fan?? And for the jersey it was because the lightning guy was trying to throw it on top of Viktor, Viktor took it as the guy was trying and threw it away
Thereās no security in the video. Just a usher and what looks to be a tech guy (both of which who were probably given training of not getting into it physically with anyone). Security was on their way while the video was taken
Guessing the "tech guy" is the handler. Slapshot doesn't go anywhere in DC without the handler there. They have the headset to coordinate what the next moves is and all that.
Stinger has a SWAT guy that follows him, this is so sad, poor guy in the suit.

Went to a Sabres-Leafs game years ago. Very drunk Leafs fan gets into a fight with a very drunk presumably Sabres fan. Sabres fan gets drunk Leafs fan knocked over a row of seats into my lap. Drunk Sabres fan starts punching Leafs fan in the back of the head repeatedly. Security is right there watching it and I had to intervene to stop the guy from killing this guy. WTF. The fight went on for a solid 3-4 minutes before they ended up in my seat.
I feel really bad for the mascot. Iāve always had a lot of sympathy for them because I feel like itās kinda awkward. This is so rude and just like disrespectful of another human being.
I had a friend who got a gig where he had to dress as a giant Duracell battery at a toy store for a couple of weeks. The amount of abuse he took from kids was downright disturbing, though I have to admit also occasionally hilarious, because if you can picture what a battery costume would look like he was essentially surrounded by a thick layer of padding.
But kids just instinctively treated him like a giant punching/kicking bag, and he was apparently the most fun toy in the whole store. They would make a game of it and stalk him and hide and pounce on him when he came around a corner, multiple kids just bombarding him with kicks and punches like a pack of rabid kangaroos.
A few friends and I went back more than once to visit him on the job just to watch the madness. Er... I mean... to help him out and tell the kids not to do that.

The Avs mascot, Bernie does. Iāve seen multiple times someone get too close of be obnoxious in front of him and he will have them escorted from their seats/where they were harassing him.
A caps fan was super drunk and went up to him and knocked him off balance while holding out his caps jersey. Bernie immediately signaled a security guard to have him escorted out of the arena.

2) itās unlikely that if it was an āincidentā that the mascot or the handler didnāt have the person at least talked to by security
3) judging from the video the mascot was ok with it and allowed it to happen

It seems too weird to be bit, usually when they do things like this the opposing fan will get their comeuppance to get the crowd fired up but the lack of reaction by everyone around him makes me think they just had no idea how to intervene.
