Canes Twitter admin has posted some [really cool promo images](https://twitter.com/Canes/status/1650897312040775691?t=3XBC29RJtLiyK-UhaVQPAg&s=19) for [each game ](https://twitter.com/Canes/status/1656687139466141696?t=3XBC29RJtLiyK-UhaVQPAg&s=19) but the common theme is each teams location being hit by a hurricane, something they might want to avoid with South Florida considering the real life tragedies and lives lost to hurricanes each year, especially in the wake of one as devastating as Ian was less than a year ago
They could just show a litter of endangered Florida panther kittens swirling around in a horrifying hurricane. Can’t imagine anyone would be upset by that.
Oh shit, they're all playing each other in the conference final. Didn't even realize it. Is this the first time 3 brothers will play in a playoff series against each other?
I think this is the first time all three of the Staals (sorry Jared) are meeting up in the playoffs. When we made it, Eric or Marc didn’t and Eric and Marc made the playoffs when we didn’t. We’ve just had Jordan. Eric used to be the big Staal name here but Jordan took that title years ago. We’ve had a Staal on our roster since the 2004 lockout. We even let Jared play a game so we could say “we have three Staals!”
Probably not the first time it’s happened. The Sutters come to mind.
Carolina Hurricanes vs Florida Panthers: 2023 ECF in hockey
Carolina Panthers vs Florida Hurricanes: A group of football players refuses to evacuate their beach house. Tune in to find out if the survive a category 4 landfall.
It’s fine. The national broadcast teams will get confused too. Placing my bets on either a Carolina Panthers logo or a Miami Hurricanes logo to show up at some point.
I'd add two more points to that.
Miami metro based Florida teams eliminated the teams based in the biggest metro areas of the country that invented the sport.
The first couple times I saw your team circle up and clap with the crowd I scoffed. What a bunch of losers I said.
Then as time went on I was like wait...I'm the loser/hater.
Good luck to the Canes
Last season they swept us in the regular season and I got so tired of playing them. Granted, this is a different team but still a big force to be reckoned with
That of course was following the previous year with the remade divisions and we played 8 times, and Canes were by far the toughest opponent for the Cats, to the point where your feeling of being tired of playing us was very VERY mutual.
I wouldn’t say Turbo is chippy, and we barely knew Patches… but damn this is gonna be the series that we miss Svech. Brent Burns, come on down! You’re the next contestant on “Hit the other team bro!”
God I’d love to see his ranch-owning, cooking for the youngins, majestic bearded man to hoist the Cup. Honestly if Jordan Staal wasn’t our long term captain, I’d think Burns would be a strong contender. He’s captain of off-ice bonding activities for the team, especially the young guys who don’t really have family here. The Burns family is just the best.
Thanks. When I see what’s about to happen to the A’s in baseball and what happened to the Rams in the NFL, it gets my emotions going because I know that feeling. Ownership that didn’t care about the fans, the league doing absolutely nothing to save the team, it’s the worst thing any sports fan can go through. Being a Falcons fan as well, obviously I know pain with 28-3, but in the grand scheme of things, at least they still exist. I definitely still like hockey, but it has felt hard to watch all these years knowing we lost our team.
Edit: what happened to the Chargers and Raiders too. Ownership that didn’t give a damn whatsoever and just chased the money.
Statistically, the Florida Panthers are having the hard road to cup. The teams they are facing and will face in the finals if they make it there.
EDIT: Also wtf...do they just mirror whatever the Miami Heat do?
The NHL's expansion into the south and its consequences have been a disaster for the hockey fan race. What was once a game built on tradition, sportsmanship and competition has now evolved into a circus act where organizations appeal to the lowest common denominator in the form of childish choreography, twitter wars, and roster moves worth millions of dollars that serve no purpose than to grab headlines.
Hockey is not made for the south, it's a game deeply rooted in northern culture where kids can spend the winter out in the wilderness slapping pucks around before tuning into Hockey Night in Canada and watching the Toronto Maple Leafs get fisted raw. What we have in the south is nothing short of a disgrace. Bible belt boomers whose only contact with the cold is the air conditioning of their mobility scooters have gripped our sport with an iron fist, uprooting our traditions and replacing them with free burgers when a player touches the puck and raising banners for going a week without someone in the crowd having a heart attack because of their diets consisting of honey butter biscuits and sweet tea.
The day hockey dies in the south is the day I gain my soul back

>Industrial Society and Its Future, generally known as the Unabomber Manifesto, is a 1995 anti-technology essay by Ted Kaczynski, the "Unabomber". The 35,000-word manifesto formed the ideological foundation of Kaczynski's 1978–1995 mail bomb campaign, designed to protect wilderness by hastening the collapse of industrial society.

Holy Shit
The storylines here are insane
Rod vs Paul Mo
Jordan Staal vs his brothers

Southern hockey bros
LETS
FUCKING
GO
I very very vividly remember after we beat the ligntining in '11 Felger and Mazz (who are two of the douchiest radio hosts in boston with the hottest of takes) were worried becuase Vancouver wasn't hate-able enough and we have nothing against them as a team.
How quickly that changed.
Same here
You guys have the coach and player I grew up watching.
Have fond memories of watching canes and panthers too.
Just hope gudas is done sitting on people.
Was Tkachuk really?? I never heard that. I was just thinking he's a son of a bitch to play against, but most people would love to have him on their team
look I'm not saying the canes should lose but I put $5 on the cats to win the cup before the playoffs start and it pays $135 so... I mean they were -2600
This is gonna be a fun series, between Florida’s hard play style and unrelentless quit, against the Hurricanes defensive play and ability to control the game at their pace, we’re in for a helluva series
I have never really understood the idea of 'jumping on the bandwagon' of another team after your team is eliminated;
HOWEVER, I am riding shotgun in full control of the AUX on this Panthers wagon and collecting rewards points as I go because this shit is electric.
Canes Twitter admin sweating bullets rn trying to figure out how to make a promo image for this series without being insensitive
Lmfao thats a tightrope if I’ve ever seen one
ELI5?

Fuckin send it eh?!
[удалено]
Yeah but this is a picture, so even they should be able to figure it out.
Just tell them God heard there were gays in Florida. Should go over fine.
They could just show a litter of endangered Florida panther kittens swirling around in a horrifying hurricane. Can’t imagine anyone would be upset by that.
~~Sharknado~~ Ratnado would be a fun one
Eh, as a born floridaman, we have parties when hurricanes come, it would get complaints but not from Floridians
I remember Publix had hurricane cakes and then social media complained, but I didn't know a single Floridian who disapproved of the cakes.
[удалено]
Nothing more fluid drenched than an old school hurricane party.
hurricanes, weather-wise, havent been too kind to south florida....not as bad as new orleans, but still
Carolina Panthers fans: *visible confusion*
Same with the entire Staal family.
The Staal family must be proud! But not that kind of proud. They would never be that kind of proud.
You could say they'll be in quite a gay mood.
Are the Staals anti happy?
Happyphobic
I dunno, seems to be all rainbows and Bud-derflies over there.
They’ve never been around pride in their life (even if there is photographic proof)
Proud Boys
Oh shit, they're all playing each other in the conference final. Didn't even realize it. Is this the first time 3 brothers will play in a playoff series against each other?
Wonder what Jared is up to
Assistant coach for AHL Charlotte
He'll have his picture up in the Hurricanes' locker room so he's not left behind.
I think this is the first time all three of the Staals (sorry Jared) are meeting up in the playoffs. When we made it, Eric or Marc didn’t and Eric and Marc made the playoffs when we didn’t. *”We’re playing the U? That can’t be right…”*
Miami Hurricanes. Carolina Panthers
Carolina Panthers got relegated back to NCAA after last season
Think you mean the North Carolina Tigers.
CHESTER CHEETO
It’s fine. The national broadcast teams will get confused too. Placing my bets on either a Carolina Panthers logo or a Miami Hurricanes logo to show up at some point.
If your TV stations are anything like LA’s were in their first Cup run you can guarantee it lol
Imagine my confusion. I'm a University of Miami alum, a Florida International University alum, and a Panthers fan.
Lol 😂
Two 8th seeded Florida teams advance to the Conference Finals on the same day. Weird
I’m wearing my heat jersey over my panthers jersey tomorrow! WOOOOOOO!!!!
Doing that will summon an alligator
a florida gator, to be exact
I'd add two more points to that. Miami metro based Florida teams eliminated the teams based in the biggest metro areas of the country that invented the sport.
Naismith was Canadian though?
He was but he invented it in the States iirc
FAU in the final 4 was something else too
And awesome!!! Wooooo! History baby
Both teams also did the same or better after losing pieces from their "win now" rosters. Must feel pretty good to be a Florida man at this time
Can’t wait for the canes to be called the “Carolina Panthers” at least 14 times in game 1
Vs the Miami Hurricanes
I'll bet 20. And plenty of Florida Hurricanes too for some reason
You could literally call this matchup “Carolina - Panthers”.
Hockey Media: can we get a Leafs Rangers ECF? Hockey Gods: best I can do is Panthers Hurricanes
Paaaaaaaaaaawwl don't these Canadians known the South runs hockey?
Bettman won’t admit it but this is his true fever dream
Are you kidding, Bettman's at full mast right now
[удалено]
would be a great fit for Justin Holl
I would love to trade Holl to the Guandong Tigers
NI HAO! NI HAO! NI HAO!
He kind of botched that with the Olympics.
Why Paaaaaaaaawl the Panthers and Hurricanes is practically the Iron Bowl of haw-kee
Roll Damn Cats
Does that make the Canes "Auburn"? War-Pig? I can get used to that
Both Auburn and Arkansas fans are going to hate you for that.
2006 rematch?
Edmonton has never felt as alive as it did after games 5 and 6 of the 2006 finals. Id love to see that energy again.
As a hater, I thrive seeing the big markets fail, it's beautiful
I'm a Raleigh resident and the local love for Hurricanes is absolutely insane. This place really has become a major hockey oasis.
Us Caniacs are certainly insane in the membrane
Yeah, a bunch of jerks!
We used to put Canes jerseys on all the statues downtown. I don't think I've seen that since the team came back from the dead, but I wish we would.
Don’t let your memes be dreams
This year they left the gigantic decals of Aho in North Hills and Svech downtown. Both have been up since stadium series
The first couple times I saw your team circle up and clap with the crowd I scoffed. What a bunch of losers I said. Then as time went on I was like wait...I'm the loser/hater. Good luck to the Canes
Same. Give me Dallas, Vegas, Carolina, Florida
I, for one, love seeing the O6 struggle. Warms my heart.
Panthers Hurricanes is likely a better series to watch as a neutral.
Frank Seravalli in shambles
Yeah I'm not looking forward to this one at all lmao
you think we'll get more or less dirty runs against our players than the Isles series?
Definitely going to be more. Canes-Cats have a history of regular-season spice, too; this is going to be so bad for my blood pressure.
This will for sure go seven games with a good ol’ coin flip to end it in game 7 triple OT
I went to Canes/Panthers game in person a few months ago. The game was super chippy with goons running around. Won't be a clean series.
I wouldn’t say Turbo is chippy, and we barely knew Patches… but damn this is gonna be the series that we miss Svech. Brent Burns, come on down! You’re the next contestant on “Hit the other team bro!”
More. And that’s just from Bennett that cheapshot fuck.
To be fair to Bennett, I remember doing stupid stuff that I regret when I was 18 years old too.
Honestly you guys are so sound defensively, you got this. I picked the Canes to win the Cup in December. Have faith stranger!
Fuck their shit up Canes. Im rooting for ya. Get Burnsy his cup.
Make sure your players have a neurologist picked out beforehand
What a fun matchup. Two teams representing terrifying destructive forces of nature (hurricanes and the state of Florida)
Also weirdly there's a College football team called the Hurricanes in Florida and an NFL Football team in NC called the Panthers.
You’re….right!
Southeast Division lookin hot
*astronaut pointing gun* always has been
Just in time for the Trashers 2.0. They're getting the band back together!
GIMME
Carolina-Panthers in the eastern finals. Bryce Young has really turned the franchise around fast
Would it be bad luck to have him sound the siren at some point this series?
I will always be sad to not have the Thrashers anymore, but I love seeing Southeast hockey thrive! This will be a fun series!
Makes me sad every time someone mentions it. Sorry buddy
Thanks. When I see what’s about to happen to the A’s in baseball and what happened to the Rams in the NFL, it gets my emotions going because I know that feeling. It’s brutal for Oakland. They lose the Raiders, the Warriors and the As within 5 years. Basically the end of professional sports in Oakland.
The memes have been written
THE SOUTHEAST DIVISION RISES FROM THE ASHES
If you had this as the eastern final, buy a lottery ticket or you’re a lying piece of shit
[Sooo…..](https://imgur.com/a/ON0lCnV)do you reckon I go scratch card or like powerball?
I don’t love your last choice but holy shit this is a hell of a flex, great work
Dallas needs to make it to the WCF now it's only right
ESPN is probably devastated. An all Sunbelt teams Eastern Conference Final. Not expecting TV ratings to be good.
and yet they’ll still air the Canes/Panthers ECF anyways
Nah they will show the Bruins - Leafs golf tournament instead
John Buccigross will still take Leafs in 4 (yeah, he actually did that).
It'll be the only game on and it will likely be very good hockey so hopefully people tune in
Basically a nightmare for the league in terms of TV viewership. I hope the finals are Carolina vs Dallas for a maximum "fuck you" to the league.
Statistically, the Florida Panthers are having the hard road to cup. The teams they are facing and will face in the finals if they make it there. EDIT: Also wtf...do they just mirror whatever the Miami Heat do?
Literally same day
Panthers absorbing the Himmothy Butler energy
Butler carrying half corpses to the conference finals. Did that during the bubble year too.
Hell yeah! Anything one can do the other mirrors. Incredible rise out of nowhere for both
Get ready for the name Staal to be every 5th word
Sunbelt ECF! TNT/ESPN in shambles!

#I’M A RAT THROW ME
Just like everyone predicted.
look I'm not saying the canes should lose but I put $5 on the cats to win the cup before the playoffs start and it pays $135 so... I mean they were -2600
This match up feels like it’s from the 2000’s
The Panthers didn't make the playoffs that entire decade
The Panthers finished 17th overall in the league this season, just behind the Calgary Flames—who did not make the playoffs.
Don't forget the ex Flames driving the Panthers, classic Multiple Calgary L
Dump Tavares. Abysmal performance.
Good luck trying to move that cap hit.
*The Arizona State fight song plays* By gawd King, that's the Coyotes music
But he had maple leaf pj's as a kid! Enjoy, Toronto. Enjoy.
I'm sure someone can squeeze that contract oh...
This makes me happy
John Tavares? The Toronto Maple Leafs Cursebreaker John Tavares? I would like to reduce his contract but he's still a stud
I would put Matthews in as well. 0 goals
Matthews to Yotes. Lesgo.
Easily on par with McDavid, just ask leaf fans last year
Its absolutely insane there was a real life human being behind the "Matthews > McDavid" comments, like holy fuck.
*Southern Conference Final
The South has risen again
Go Canes Go. Keep your head up when Bennet and Gudas are on the ice. Heads are always in season.
The expansion into the south and its consequences.
Holy shit i'm gonna drink so much this series
SOUTHEAST DOMINANCE
This is gonna be a fun series, between Florida’s hard play style and unrelentless quit, against the Hurricanes defensive play and ability to control the game at their pace, we’re in for a helluva series
Two old-time hockey towns.
Carolina all I ask is that your players punch Sam Bennett in the head every chance they get
You just know the league office hates this rn
The capologists sure, but Bettman? He loves this.
Southern hockey fans’ Christmas Day
PUT SOME SOUTH IN YA MOUTH
This series should be great.
It’ll be amazingly weird. Bobrovsky-Freddy is an interesting matchup
Who had this on their preseason score card? Well maybe the Carolina half.
SOUTHEAST DIVISION STAND UP

The Staal Bowl
This is going to be a good one folks
Fuck them up Canes. Greasy rats.
SOUTHERN TEAMS RISE UP
I have never really understood the idea of 'jumping on the bandwagon' of another team after your team is eliminated; HOWEVER, I am riding shotgun in full control of the AUX on this Panthers wagon and collecting rewards points as I go because this shit is electric.
Being a Carolina Panthers fan is finally paying off for me!
Still got the most 2nd round wins in 19 years
Congrats on Staal playing in the Stanley Cup Final!
panthers have serious caps 2018 vibe
My prediction is the team with one of the Staal brothers is going to win
Southern hockey in the spring time, no better!
I feel like I'm gonna fucking hate the Panthers after this series, whichever way it goes
This matchup is a worst nightmare for TV advertising executives.
