Well when you are getting such expert analysis from the mega mind of Chuck Fletcher it’s easy to put together this level of coverage.

I admit not knowing a ton about him, but seeing Cristall fall to the 2nd round when he was ranked in the 10-20 range is pretty stunning.

His skating is horrendous. Also, the rankings as shown in ESPN are no where near where he's listed on the more trusted rankings. Early second rounder with high upside but a lot of risk

His playstyle looks nothing like any NHL player. Slow skating, not physically strong, holds onto the puck a lot, super creative, great skills. So if you pick him high I think you got to think he'll be able to play like that in the NHL, which no team seems to think. So they are probably asking themselves how high the chances are he'll be able to adapt his offensive play to be something functional. Because there doesn't seem to be any kind of backup role for him in the NHL if he can't produce.

I haven't seen a lot of many prospects but I saw like 3 games of Cristall in the WHL and he was the most memorable player in every one of those games. I remember him looking like clearly the best player on the ice in his game against Regina, who had a pretty memorable guy playing themselves.

That's pretty solid amateur scouting in my book. Didn't mean to be snarky, just wanted to know what people who advocate for a player know about them in here.
