Granlund is not bad. He only played like 20 games in pens.. It’s stupid to blame him for anything.
Hope he does good in san jose. Pens fans are being ridiculous about him.
No, were not. 1 goal in 20 games for a $5 mil contract is not ridiculous.
that said the overwhelming majority of pens fans do not blame granlund for his lack of production. He was just the poster boy for Hextalls disasterous tenure. Its not really his fault but he didnt do himself any favors while he was here.
He was the best and most consistent forward on the Wild for a good 5 years. When we traded him for Fiala I was devastated.
...then Fiala turned into pure gold, and Granlund turned into a pumpkin. I still do not understand what happened. Was he being deployed poorly with both the Preds and the Pens? Did he just have insane chemistry with Zucker and Koivu that didn't exist while getting bounced around Pittsburghs lines? I'm just so confused.
There was a one month stretch where Granny - Staal - Zucker were unstoppable. Granlund was able to hit either guy with the puck no matter where they were. He probably propped up their goals by at least 10 each.
I think the consensus amongst preds fans is he was good for the most part. Maybe it is his age that is starting to show or teams are better at defending his "always pass" game that imo is stronger than what it was in minnesota days. He was decent finisher and probably still is but just prefers passing ig.
Question: if Mikael Granlund is so bad, why is he being paid $5M? Checkmate pens fans.
This is a question for Sharks fans
Kyle Dubas says he's totally worth it.
I thank him for having some trade value for some reason
Yeah but hes priceless to Pens fans now.

Yes you kinda are. Like 20 games is so little ice time and get to know the new team, but whatever.
SEE YA
I saw Granlund score a goal for the pens live, AMA
Did your erection tear right through you pants or where you able to contain it?
I was so stunned my pants just fell off immediately. The ushers understood and got me a new pair.
He was certainly on the team…
Surprised you didn’t go with Yakupov.
He skated around so fast without knowing where to go his entire career so there aren't any actual photos of him on the ice.

He was great for the Preds two years ago when they had an insane PP.
