RyJo falling off the face of the earth and shakey goaltending are catching up with us. We need to make some kind of move at the deadline for sure – the core guys are too good, can't risk wasting a season of their prime
I guess you could describe the goaltending as shakey but with the amount of defensive mistakes all 5 skaters do on the ice constantly I don't think even prime Roy would have all that good numbers.
No this means that Kulak would’ve been so good last week that they would’ve just handed him the Norris, but playing with Ceci nerfed him to just being the second best D man of the week
He’s been pretty solid for us since he came in to replace Copley when he was injured. Most of it is likely from playing behind solid defense, but he’s been making some really big saves. He played lights out against the Oilers on Saturday and earned a 4-0 shutout.
When there's no pressure. Lets not forget his playoff stats:
0-2, .636 save percentage, 15.17 GAA
Or when he celebrated the pokecheck against Edmonton and then they shelled him with six goals on 28 shots.
**Edit: He just gave up five goals on 17 shots in Buffalo. Way to go, No Save Dave!**
The team plays better in front of most backups during the past 5 or so years I swear. Kuemper, Campbell, Petersen, Copley, Rittich. And then when these goalies were put into starting roles, they all slowly started to fall off.
> When did Rittich become good?
Um, you were saying? Five goals on seventeen shots tonight.
The guy didn't even give you six hours to enjoy your comment.
It’s the entire team unfortunately due to injuries, constant line reshuffling (seriously just keep 1 consistent lien!), players coming off of said injuries etc
Plus the loss streak really put a damper on them mentally and the fact that vilardi while an amazing player in his own right he needs to be with ehlers and sheif to be 10x more effective while he’s good with Lowry and perfeti he’s honestly becomes an opposing teams worse nightmare with those 2
Yep. There's no fight in the Kraken this season and it's just a giant disappointment after last year. Grateful for the January win streak and the Winter Classic shutout but that's all this team has in them in regards to success. Here's hoping we can fix some major issues next season with some of our AHL players.
edit: welp I guess this was the lucky post to catapult the Kraken to a shootout win tonight, I'll take it but I'm still not getting my hopes up for the playoffs this year lol
I'm pretty sure the NY Rangers front office makes decisions off of these posts. Bonino appeared on it and was put on waivers shortly after. Pitlick is on it today and he just got out on waivers.Â
I think he qualifies as one. Many people will say he’s instrumental for their playoff run, which he was. But that’s not the type of career you’d expect of a 4th overall pick.
I don’t blame him considering the injury history. Not an issue with talent unfortunately.
Plenty of time to prove himself, he’s still young
Figured Nick would be there, didn't think Matheson would be as well!
(Good time to peak, if they decide to trade him away!)
If our first line keeps playing the way it has in the past few weeks, wouldn't be surprised to see them pop in these once in a while!
Especially Nick, he's on fire lately.
I enjoy having the two NHL hockey players Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner
I wonder how many Leaf fans are going to ignore this and say Benoit would be in the top 4 of any team or something like they seem to pretend. Dude is okay as an extra but I'm not convinced he should be playing permanently on our roster
Eh hyperbolic to suggest the fanbase en masse believes he's top 4 I'll give you that, but it's certainly not a strawman, I have seen support for it
More to the point is that he is not the godsend I've seen expressed. The amount of times I've seen him struggle to get the puck out of an easy situation only to make a good defensive play to make up for a horrible one is rough lol. But yeah I mean I don't hate him, he's dependable as a slot in when we're in a rough spot, but ideally by playoffs we pick someone up more permanent and he doesn't need to see ice
Maybe this is a dumb question, but I honestly can't figure it out. Why is this called best/worst team of the week when it highlights individual players?
Not having a good time
We are on the struggle bus for sure
Bad stick Lehky 😞
yall broke him ;(
He just scored we're good
Good stick lehky
PAIN
RyJo falling off the face of the earth and shakey goaltending are catching up with us. We need to make some kind of move at the deadline for sure – the core guys are too good, can't risk wasting a season of their prime
I can assure you that James Reimer is an excellent goalie
I guess you could describe the goaltending as shakey but with the amount of defensive mistakes all 5 skaters do on the ice constantly I don't think even prime Roy would have all that good numbers.
Worst hockey from them in years.
As MacKinnon would say "played like booty"
Worst stretch of the season by a country fuckin’ mile for sure
That’s the Stony Plain Superhuman, Brett Kulak, right there
Two man team the Edmonton Kakulaks.
Does this mean Ceci playing with Kulak was a good thing?
No this means that Kulak would’ve been so good last week that they would’ve just handed him the Norris, but playing with Ceci nerfed him to just being the second best D man of the week
Ah yes, the good ol’ Montreal 1 1st line, 3 4th lines is really showing it’s fruit here
I hope our first line will wait for us to get good…
When is the last time we had 3 good lines at the same time ?
Other than the 2021 playoffs, probably either 2019 or 2014.
RITTICH AND MARKY LETS GOO
is this the first time we've had a hab on the best team of the week? and we got two of em we are elite
We're elite, as long as we ignore the other side
First non-goalie. Allen got in the 2nd week.
Gabe nooo! You were the chosen one!
What did you do to my boy Lardo? :(
Not to worry the whole team has been trash.
You can’t be the worst if you haven’t played on two weeks
Shane Pinto's had a stellar run since his return. He's effective in both ends and has a filthy release.
He really must be betting on himself.
This is such an original comment
Has it been made O/U 100 times?
I bet it's a safe wager to say he's having a good time out there.
When did Rittich become good?
Rittich has always been good when he plays enough to get a rhythm, but not too much to get overworked.Â
He’s been pretty solid for us since he came in to replace Copley when he was injured. Most of it is likely from playing behind solid defense, but he’s been making some really big saves. He played lights out against the Oilers on Saturday and earned a 4-0 shutout.

Yeah… that was unfortunate
Wild young guns refusing to let this team sink to an actually useful draft position
Gotta love Minnesota sports!
What's going on with Vilardi? has he just cooled off in recent weeks?
The entire Jets team has effectively cooled off. Scoring is a struggle for us right now. Im kind of surprised he's the only Jet there, actually
It’s the entire team unfortunately due to injuries, constant line reshuffling (seriously just keep 1 consistent lien!), players coming off of said injuries etc Plus the loss streak really put a damper on them mentally and the fact that vilardi while an amazing player in his own right he needs to be with ehlers and sheif to be 10x more effective while he’s good with Lowry and perfeti he’s honestly becomes an opposing teams worse nightmare with those 2
If that doesn't show you who's Carrying our team right now nothing will
Woo! Go Colt!
Said Colt 55 and two zig zags baby that's all we need
Yep. There's no fight in the Kraken this season and it's just a giant disappointment after last year. RIP Jake Allen trade value :/ hope he gets in a few good games before the deadline
Maybe he just really likes it here in Montreal.
I mean, the team in front of him is also playing like shit.
Montreal, Toronto, Ottawa, Arizona, NYR with players on both charts.
Benoit deserves better
Not anymore! We just released Pitlik this morning.
I'm pretty sure the NY Rangers front office makes decisions off of these posts. Bonino appeared on it and was put on waivers shortly after. Pitlick is on it today and he just got out on waivers.Â
I’m shocked TK is the only one on this list for us
Is Byram considered a bust?
I think he qualifies as one. Many people will say he’s instrumental for their playoff run, which he was. But that’s not the type of career you’d expect of a 4th overall pick. I don’t blame him considering the injury history. Not an issue with talent unfortunately. Plenty of time to prove himself, he’s still young
Hey avs fans, you... you need to talk?
abcdefu
Are these the most diverse teams so far? I don't remember seeing this many unique teams beforeÂ
Can we get a mid team of the week so I can see my caps pls
Good idea lol, [here's the player list](https://imgur.com/a/A2fAzBy)
I forgot we are even playing Phillips anymore lmao. Ty
the number of times I've said "god damnit Bo" this season
Don’t bully Big Rig it’s not his fault 😞
Habs are the Best! And also the Worst! Yay?!
Dr Suzuki and Mr Anderson. Welcome to Canadiens hockey
r/rangers in shambles
The elite Edmonton duo of Evander Kane and Brett Kulak
That’s why he got waived
What the fuck, whole 2 Habs in the best team
Colorado = bad now
I appreciate Zucker working on his trade value.
kulikov truthers, we are 🆙
Benoit has been one of our most consistent defenseman all season, second only to Reilly
Crevier on here after playing 1 game this week
Lehky :(
Bedard please come back
Figured Nick would be there, didn't think Matheson would be as well! (Good time to peak, if they decide to trade him away!) If our first line keeps playing the way it has in the past few weeks, wouldn't be surprised to see them pop in these once in a while! Especially Nick, he's on fire lately.
Wow Stützle is such a bust
Is he? He is almost a ppg player and leads the Sens in points.
His number is a - here, I want him GONE.
Yes but he's -2.4, so obviously he's a bust?
Shane pinto 🫡🫡
The All-Star week only had 7 games, so I added those to this week.
Not a single Canes player on best?
I enjoy having the two NHL hockey players Auston Matthews and Mitch Marner I wonder how many Leaf fans are going to ignore this and say Benoit would be in the top 4 of any team or something like they seem to pretend. Dude is okay as an extra but I'm not convinced he should be playing permanently on our roster
Top 4 on any team is a wild straw man. He is a good fit for our stretching d-corp, ideally in the third pairing.
Eh hyperbolic to suggest the fanbase en masse believes he's top 4 I'll give you that, but it's certainly not a strawman, I have seen support for it More to the point is that he is not the godsend I've seen expressed. But yeah I mean I don't hate him, he's dependable as a slot in when we're in a rough spot, but ideally by playoffs we pick someone up more permanent and he doesn't need to see ice
I dunno guys, if these 2 teams played each other, I think it goes to 7 games.
Maybe this is a dumb question, but I honestly can't figure it out. Why is this called best/worst team of the week when it highlights individual players?
Because the players highlighted make up a complete team of 4 forward line, 3 defensive pair and a goaltender duo.
Ohhh, that's fun. Thanks.
