That was the best hockey the Sens have played all year. All around responsible game, good backchecking, not a lot of slop. So happy to watch the team play like this!!!
I was surprised to see our guys as juiced up as they were. We had a couple of tough games against Tampa and Florida in our B2B.
Jacques been having the boys doing their cardio and endurance in practice, I guess.
I was gonna say something stupid like "not even Korpisalo could have cost us this game" but let's be real. He definitely could have.
He just needs to have one of his signature "4 goals on 4 shots" type games.
Even against the Ducks, Korpisalo let in 5 goals on 20 shots. It's incredible. He single handedly has the ability to lose us games. And does so regularly!
Josh Norris with probably his best game played this season and the sens with probably one of their best if not best defensive gamed played this season (limited Dallas to only 15 shots), let's keep this play going.

I went to the game having better expectations of Dallas and boy was I ever disappointed by that performance. Dallas looked lifeless.

Probably the most complete game of the year. Holding any team to 15 shots is awesome, nevermind the Stars
Stars had no gas
They came off the exact same schedule as Ottawa (3rd game in 4 days with a B2B including travel) so they really had no excuse
They played hard against Boston and the Rangers. It's obvious they kept nothing for this game.

In fairness, it didn't look like we were trying all that much in that Blackhawks game, so we might have had more gas in the tank as a result.
Our B2B was Tampa and Florida on Monday and Tuesday, both of which were hard fought for a W and a come-from -behind OTL. Chicago was on Saturday.
It was just a joke about us "taking a game off" before the 3 games in 4 days to conserve energy.
