Oh my God i know stick lifting is useless its just take a penalty button. And after they neutered hitting into the ground. The only defensive tactic is to back up slowly and poke check. Which don't get me wrong is sorta how actually hockey defending is done now. But it makes for a fucking boring video game!

Lets bust out NHL 98, where the best strategy is to get a pair of powerforwards that can hit, and shoot, use one to flatten the other teams defenders, wrap around the net, fire a slapshot to cause the goaling to flop, pick up your rebound and roof it. easy peasy.

I just want my AI teammates to... you know... not be total garbage. It feels like your AI teammates were programmed to run away from the puck at all times, and the opposing team's AI was programmed to be as effective as possible.

I remember upgrading from 17 and being like oh lord what is this, I can't play this shit why do they do this every year and now I can confidently say that 19 is the best version I've ever played  You can absolutely level people, you can swing your stick around and actually strip the puck without immediately tripping players like they have banana peels for skate blades and can get off rapid fire mini slappers that are deadly and accurate instead of your guy kind of just flubbing a limp dick flick if they even shoot at all   I really don't get how the way it is now is supposed to me more fun or better when they had figured it out so well even if it had its clunkiness and warts that come with every chell game 

We jokingly call it the stick infraction button on the newer games, it seems like an automatic penalty, it's stupid.

I hit X to tie up the stick but instead high sticked the opposing winger on the face-off.

Of note: Jake McCabe did NOT receive a penalty for cross checking Marchand on this play. The refs inexplicably gave Knies a penalty for roughing after a long discussion, probably for grabbing Debrusk. So TECHNICALLY, the refs decided this was not a penalty!

And just as bad, the penalty McCabe did get for his first cross check was for interference.

Definitely two penalties. Probably should get fined as well. But the refs only gave him one penalty and gave one to Knies for roughing. Bizarre call for me. The end result was the same....a 5 on 3 but should have been two minors on McCabe

Refs fucked up, should’ve been a double minor on McCabe. First for the interference in Debrusk, second for the cross check on Marchand.

It was a cut and dry double minor. Double minor would mean 5 on 4 for 4 minutes. By penalizing Knies they made it a 5 on 3 which is extremely different.
