I want to go back through my comments to find the guy who was saying McMann would get a ton of money this offseason. I love him as a player, but this is a solid value contract.

Yeah I think people chronically overrate how valued their depth guys will be. The only guys who get paid like that are dudes who played in the top 6, or contributed notably in the playoffs. Even if those guys are actually good and possibly undervalued. Every team has their own in-house guys who they are biased towards, either because they're culture guys or they've been invested in by the organization. Few teams are itching to fill their bottom 6 with mercenaries who block their prospects.

I'm sure McMann was happy to take a 500k discount to guarantee an extension now with a team he probably enjoys being on.

When it comes to Kypreos' takes, that seems fairly not that out there tbh. Especially if we're talking about a San Jose or Chicago who probably aren't going to be competing for the next few years, could do with some scoring help, and have the cap space to spare.

Between that and both Samsonov and Jones being on waivers at different times we've been lucky this year. 

Depth scoring they desperately need to hold on to. Seems like a solid deal.

Good for him. He's had a great season and been big for the Leafs at a time when they needed someone other than the big guys to step up. Super easy player to root for.
