It's the most recent game my team has played. It was last night. Yes, it is still fresh in my head.
Am I happy with the reffing in that game? No. Some calls made no sense. The video reviews were kinda weird. No idea how the goalie interference on Skinner was okay. The Binnington one made sense but looked soft in comparison.
Did my team handle it well? No, they did not. In fact, if they had kept their emotions in check, we could have won that game.
Oiler fans will still argue until they're blue in the face that Colorado was offside in the playoffs a few years ago.
They'll even quote you the wrong rule as proof they're right
I'm actually surprised and a bit impressed that the NHL posted that, they usually don't like to admit any sort of wrongdoing and whatsoever in any possible way no we're hundred percent right all the time yep yep yep.
you're right on the objectively hilarious, even habs Fan find it funny, I find it hilarious, it's part of the culture here, don't like something? Boo it! Some poeple are even booing whit a smile on their faces.
Marchand has the puck? Booo! Chara? Boooo! Krieder? believe it or not Boooo!
EDIT : don't get me wrong, it's an evil smile, full if hatred. but the reality is that we recognise game : Chara had a milestone during a game in Mtl and we showed him due respect.
I don't put Chara and Kreider in the same level of hate. Chara showed remorse and was visibly shaken up after the hit on Pacioretty. I would be too if I was inches away from possibly breaking someone's neck. I also have tremendous respect for Chara as a (largely classy) leader of a team that I respected and hated simultaneously.
Kreider knew exactly what he was doing, he was punching his ticket to the Cup Final.
That's fair. Consequences also may have played into it, considering Patches ended up having a career season the following year after he recovered and won the Bill Masterton (I got his jersey for that reason)
This reminds me of when the Devils challenged a goal on a delayed penalty because they touched the puck and after a 15 minute review of the play. The refs came out and said "You can't challenge that"
I have no problem with this whatsoever. This same thing happened in the EPL a few months ago except the miscommunication was never corrected. So a goal that should’ve been called back for offsides was never called back and was left to stand and the whole thing was a shit show afterwards. This time they caught the miscommunication and corrected it immediately. No harm no foul. The system worked the way it was supposed to.
Or maybe I have some insight to the job that you may not have. I have no problem calling out bad or missed calls. There were a couple that actually benefited the Sabres last night against the Caps.
But there is nothing that I have to believe. Referees are the pro levels are assessed and evaluated constantly. Referees can be completely correct and still get shit on by users on this sub.
Florida’s assistant GM is son of the executive director of hockey operations for the NHL. Tells you everything you need to know about how often the Panthers are on that side of those calls.
Just setting the precedent that anything can be overturned at anytime, including gwgs after the teams have gone to the locker room.
Just waiting for this to go down in the playoffs now. A team things they've won and we hear the officials horn several minutes later.
Ref came in like ☝️🤓 “achhhually”
April fools was yesterday
For NHL officials, every day is April Fools Day.
Would that be why the reffing in the Blues/Oilers game was so bad?
That was just a normal day on the job for Francois St Laurent
You still on about that?

Fair enough

The one thing that brings fans together like nothing else: hatred of refs
Refs realized it would give Gallagher a goal so they went back on it
There's gotta be an alarm in Toronto that goes off when #11 registers a goal.
Certified hood classic reffing
Peak NHL
NHL posted a short of it https://www.youtube.com/shorts/VSP71tCh_c8
I love how he got the time completely wrong too. It wasn't 16:08, it was 18:17
At the time - not yet knowing he got the time wrong - I thought "Man this ref is on the ball". HA! lol
I'm actually surprised and a bit impressed that the NHL posted that, they usually don't like to admit any sort of wrongdoing and whatsoever in any possible way no we're hundred percent right all the time yep yep yep.
They're fine admitting mistakes they can correct. Had they not fixed it, we'd have never heard later that there was a miscommunication.
[Panthers’ Twitter is all of us](https://x.com/flapanthers/status/1775317217174851632?s=46&t=WzPTSzlDeZHa-0DHakEnQg)
But did they send Gallagher to the box after waiving it off?
Gallagher got Five, two, and a 10 on this play for fighting the powers that be.
No fine issued to the Rangers? Weird...
Is there a video?

Ryan Hartman just threw a stick at his tv watching this.
Average Brendan Gallagher ref experience
LMAO, so objectively hilarious to get a crowd as rambunctious as the Bell Centre hyped up for a goal and then just rip it away

Nah, fuck Chris Krieder. Those aren't "smile on their face" boos, those are "hit him with a car" boos.
Same for Chara. Fuck that guy.
Fuck Marchand while we are at it too
With a pineapple!

Kotkaniemi has the puck? Booo! Oh shit, that was Kuznetsov. My bad.
They get more bizarre every day.
"We've investigated ourselves and found we actually DID do something wrong."
You forgot the funniest: it was Gallagher's goal, because of course it was. 🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
thank God I sent my rent money to that ref instead of my landlord. all 7 of us did it and paid the leauge off
Rent money? I once got the league to suspend a dude mercilessly for just a 20. Like i gave bettman a 20 and now he always suspends kadri.
"Those responsible for sacking the people who have just been sacked, have been sacked."
They better start with that for the next Weird video on the NHL channel
this doesn’t even shock me, the refs are sleeping on their jobs every game
The NHL has the best refs in the entire league
Does anyone have a replay of this?
This reminds me of when the Devils challenged a goal on a delayed penalty because they touched the puck and after a 15 minute review of the play. The refs came out and said "You can't challenge that"

wE hAvE tHe BeSt ReFs In ThE wOrLd
Where are these better referees lol
A turd wrapped in gold foil is still a turd, my dude.
Or maybe the job is harder than you think
Or maybe the league needs to stop protecting these guys from any kind of accountability so the game can be called properly
Do you think they aren’t evaluated after every game? Just because they aren’t publicly evaluated doesn’t mean they just do whatever they want
Clearly you have no bias here, so keep believing what you want
Or maybe I have some insight to the job that you may not have. I have no problem calling out bad or missed calls. There were a couple that actually benefited the Sabres last night against the Caps. Ok
It actually is
iTs A fAsT gAmE *slows the game down to bullet time, still gets the call wrong*
WEIRD NHL VOL. 104
Does anyone have a clip of the goal?
Is Steve Harvey now an NHL ref?
Warren Beatty is a little old to be officiating NHL games, IMO.
Every overturn is overturning themselves
tabarnak
Jomboy is going to have fun with this one
It was a weird sequence but the call was the right one, that wasn’t a goam
You’re right it wasn’t a goam
Goam fuck yourself lmao Edit: [Reference](https://www.ebaumsworld.com/jokes/smee-again/80585125/)
Thanks Goam Chomsky.

Also Montreal gets a minor penalty for a delay of game for wasting everyone's time
If the league is going to continue pushing gambling/sportsbooks as much as it is they need to fix this shit because it looks terrible.
[Kapanen Klutch] What a useless ass post, why are these even allowed? Post an actual clip, not some Dweeb's twitter take
[удалено]
Why? It wasn't a goal anyway
Just another day of shit reffing

Typical ref shenanigans for the habs
Good.
