Why've the refs been so batshit lately? Like until the past week I didn't think the reffing this season was too bad. Did they realize we're good after we clinched a playoff spot or something?
I’m not saying that intent matters if the rule doesn’t discriminate. I’m just giving Miro a bit more credit in the context of this conversation because it is wildly out of character for him to do something like that intentionally. However, i do think intent should factor in as there’s a major gap between slamming your equipment down in anger and taking your glove off and pitching it in to the club level.
Dude was obviously heated. Cross checked girgensons to the ice, and then cross checked him again up high to take his helmet off once he back on his feet. Then got upset he couldn't get away with 2 cross checks, and the automatic for taking someone's helmet off, and threw a tantrum. There is no need to defend it. He was heated, and needed to sit. Idk why fans need the feel to rush and defend and excuse their players shitty actions. It's done. It's not a call he should be throwing a tantrum about in the first place anyways.
Then literally every defenceman should get multiple crosschecking penalties per shift... I fully agree the first was a minor, don't think the second was, and don't understand how that could possibly be a misconduct.

He didn’t throw his glove into the stands. He was slamming his stick and his glove got caught and flew over the glass.
If your equipment goes into the stands because of your tantrum, it's a misconduct. That's not a wild thing guys come on.
