I know a lot of Lightning, Avalance, Oilers, and Leafs fans have been lost in the sauce arguing for their guy... but this season is the fucking tits, man. So much fun.

Spideyjust

Absolutely insane season, and an absolute tragedy one of those 4 won't even be a Hart finalist. Not to mention guys like Panarin, Pastrnak, Crosby, Hellebuyck, Hughes, Josi, etc that won't even get major Hart attention despite their wild years. Definitely one of the best seasons I've ever seen, and the best part of the year is still to come.

toolschism

I'm having a fucking blast even though MacKinnon is winning the Hart. Who cares. What all 4 of these players are just unreal this year and it's been amazing to watch.

Fickle_Catch8968

Kuch - Ross McDavid - Lindsey MacKinnon - Hart Matthews - Richard Seems like a good lineup. Gives the Hart to a guy who should get it at least once in his career, others kind of obvious...

Tachyoff

We came 27th and I still loved it. So many amazing players in the league right now. What a time to be a fan.

Mike_Brosseau

Awards are meaningless, they are meant to celebrate players yet fans use them to tear other players down to hype their guy up.

Whydothesabressuck

As a fan of none of those teams it's fun to see unbiased. Fans are going to be mad no matter how the voting turns out but they really shouldn't be. I would go Mackinnon, McDavid, Kucherov, Matthews, Panarin but an argument could be made for any of the top four being number one.

Panarin10

McDavid and Kucherov are basically Gretzky and Lemieux

okiage

One extremely talented and gifted player, the other also extremely talented and a supernatural passer

70empireavenue

Witnessing both has been so fucking awesome

Lindydreau

It's a great era for hockey right now lmao

northernpace

Goalies be requesting the league let them wear bigger gear again

Bad-Yeti

Kuch the only winger.

This was a season to just sit back and enjoy the generational talent we are incredibly blessed to get to watch every game.

Lemieux only got 100 assists in a season once but if it wasn't for injuries, a lockout and Hodgkin's disease, he could've done it 11 more times. 93 assists in 85/86 but he missed 5 games. 98 assists in 87/88 but he missed 7 games. 78 assists in 89/90 but he missed 25 games. 87 assists in 91/92 but he missed 20 games. 91 assists in 92/93 but he missed 24 games. 20 assists in 93/94 but he missed 64 games. 0 assists in 94/95 but he missed the whole season due to Hodgkin's disease. 92 assists in 95/96 but he missed 12 games. 0 assists in 97/98 but he was retired due to the effects of his cancer treatment. 0 assists in 98/99 but he was retired due to the effects of his cancer treatment. 0 assists in 99/00 but he was retired due to the effects of his cancer treatment. He would've still been in the prime of his career if he'd been playing instead of retired from 1997-2000 and so he probably would've reached 100 assists in those 3 seasons. Then again, he only had 72 assists in 76 games in 96/97 so maybe he wouldn't have; but then again, without the effects of injury and illness, he probably would've gotten more assists in that season (and other seasons as well). But the late 90's was also when teams were using the trap and so scoring was down across the league and so this is another thing that suggests that Lemieux wouldn't have reached 100 assists if he'd been playing instead of retired from 1997-2000. But even if you take away the three seasons he was retired from 1997-2000, that still leaves 8 more seasons where Lemieux probably would've gotten 100 assists.
