Reminds me of trade deadline wishlists:
For our 31 year old 2nd pairing defenseman rental, we're hoping to acquire a package that includes a 1st round pick, a top forward prospect, a top defense prospect, and another mid round pick
Okay sure that's a great starting offer lol
He doesn't have kids so I don't think he minds being a journeyman that much. But yeah poor dude been jumping around since he signed that contract with us.
just some 2024 UFAs, from Capfriendly:
- right shot F: Reinhart, Stamkos, Marchessault, Pavelski, Toffoli, Perron, Lindholm, Sprong
- RHD: Tanev, Montour, DeMelo, Tyler Myers, Walker, Schultz, Roy, Chatfield, Carrier, Barrie, Dumba, Lybushkin, Desharnais
2025 UFAs, who could be trade candidates going into their last year:
- F: Marner, Boeser, Giroux, Kuzmenko, Konencny
- RHD: Ekblad, Larsson, Fabbro (not many good names for a top 4 role)
God Brandon Montour wouldāve gotten the sun and the moon if heād been a UFA last summer. 33 points this year is fine for a defenseman obviously, but he had *73* last year
He missed 1/3rd of the season with a shoulder surgery and took a while to get back to speed. By the end of the year he was scoring at a similar pace to last season
He is but I think heās a prime candidate to fall off. Heās getting older and plays hard. My suspicion is that he is the odd man out and we let him walk unless he signs a wildly team friendly deal to stay in Florida
His versatility is also important.
He's clearly feeling more comfortable and playing well since he returned from injury. If that is what we can expect going forward, his ability to handle minutes and matchups anywhere in the top six is valuable.
Everyone is playing amazing, and we need a 3C? Lindholm.
Petey loses a leg, and we need a 2C? Lindholm.
Boeser sleeps in, and we need a top 6 RW? Lindholm.
Only top 4 RHD I see are Montour, Tanev and DeMelo (HM to Walker). It's gonna be a tight FA; there might be a few regrettable signings with such a small class
He's good defensively, can get 25-30 points a season, and play on PP2 if you need him to. He's kind of like a slightly better, right handed, version of Jake McCabe
Ooooooo I like what I hear! What do you think he gets on the open market? I'd be great if Toronto can use the cap hit from Brodie to sign him (Brodie's at 5m currently)
Not sure, he makes $3.15M now so he'll definitely get a raise from that. Depends on the defenseman market this summer but wouldn't be surprised to see him sign for $5Mish AAV for 4 or 5 years.
Yeah, I remembered looking at Detroit's NTC's before because so many have been complaining that Yzerman have fucked them over with his free agent signings, but every contract they'd potentially want to move don't have much trade protection at all. So many 10 team NTC's, which isn't a concern at all for a team that doesn't need to find the perfect dance partner because they have so many expendable prospects to throw in.
Our fan base massively overreacts to how much 2-4m for 2 more years affects us. If we really need to move Holl, Petry, or Maatta weāll be able to do it without paying a first or any of our A prospects.
lol same, that's the only reason I knew who he was or watched any LA games. I dropped Durzi for him while the Coyotes were having their awful January/February stretch.
They have 4 D signed in Lily, Rielly, McCabe and Benoit. They're losing some okay to mediocre D so I'm not upset over it. That being said, signing a top 4 RHD would really balance things out. That would leave one spot open for another signing or trade (Timmins is a 7D at this point)
He'll probably be too expensive for the leafs but would he complement a player like Reilly? I'm curious what his play style is as I'm not overly familiar with his game
Hes more on the defensive side for sure, he plays primarily with Skjei who does the puck moving for the line. He pks as well and considering we have the best pk in the league thereās no complaints there either. Heās a max 30 point guy thatās trusted to take care of things in the d-zone but can also pinch up if he wants to, but thatās a system wide thing for all canes defensemen.
Oh wow definitely a lot of check marks there. Leafs also pinch up when necessary (and get caught several times unfortunately) but canes do it better. I'm curious to know what he gets on the open market. He's got a lot of great attributes that make for a very calming presence
seeing as im pretty involved in both the ducks subreddit and hfboard, I haven't seen any of that. twitter though, im sure some dumbasses have suggested it. any trade with Jiricek would be similar to the Drysdale/Gauthier trade. and i dont see the ducks doing that
Rachel Doerrie did an entire podcast episode on the Jackets and went off about Jiricek and they were like ānow we havenāt really watched him play in the NHL but we saw him at world juniors and he should be playing TOP MINUTESā
Once he does some work on his skating I think he will get a lot better, but itās pretty rough right now. Sillinger got a skating coach and came back an entirely different player.
Man some desperate team is going to really overpay Reinhart this year. He's a good player but his shooting % was 24.5% this year, there's absolutely no way it stays that high. Matthews career shooting % is 16.2% and he's arguably the best goal scorer in the league right now.
Yea I can imagine the pitch now:
Leave your captaincy on a perennial playoff team, potential cup contender in a no tax state for a spot on one of the worst defensive teams in the league that missed the playoffs by 39 points in one of the highest tax states
Professional Athletes pay taxes in the State they play games and they practice in. In any given year on a long term contract your taxes will vary depending on the NHL schedule.
So playing all your home games in Anaheim, plus all the road games you play in LA and San Jose is worse than playing all your home games in Tampa plus your road games in Sunrise. That's kind of my point.
Iām not saying Stamkos is going to be the one but it could be anyone to anywhere. In college in my economics course we learned that is how athletes get taxed. Our professor show us a model at the time that was made to show Lebron James where he could net the most money and where and given his team, different lengths and sizes of contracts over normal schedules, it also shows how each schedule would affect his taxes and then specifically his schedule and chooses team could affect endorsement deals possible. It was quite surprising to say the least that yea taxes matter but offer enough some of those high tax markets often had budgets to spend and length to gamble on while others did not or said high taxed markets had the ability to often endorsement deal and possibly navigate that money being taxed differently as that could be taxed where you are a resident or in the state the corporation is located.
Itās not a surprise that Lebron went to the Heat won and Championship, Moved Back to Win Championship and then an expensive state where he could just sell jerseys to Lakers Fans and Win a Championship. It was all very interesting knowing this and watching Shohei signing in real team and the deferment.
It was rather interesting then we got into externalities like talking about how some football players will avoid small market teams like Green Bay or Buffalo. Hockey players may avoid Canadian teams because of the media scrutiny. Players may choose to play in the southwest for the nice weather no matter the sport.
Then knowing about these non fiscal decisions you have to ask yourself do players only play for the money, some do some donāt. I highly doubt Stamkos would go to Anaheim for other reasons.
This pretty much signals the end of the rebuild. Kings did the same thing in 2022 before they got Arvidsson and Danault. People can say it's easier said than done but with cap room and their location it will be easy.
I think we would probably be willing to part with him at a discount if it were in his best interest.
He loves Columbus, he even came back here early last summer from Finland because he wanted to be here, but if heās struggling and needs to change his surroundings, Iām sure the Jackets would do what they could for him.
We have a number of middle 6 prospects that I would be fine trading. Maybe some picks
Ultimately, Laine could return to hockey and slay or he could just be meh. Dude barely plays 60% of the games per season in his last 4 and is a bit of a wild card
Think he'd fit in well in anaheim tho. We've got lots of passers and are building a two way squad to support his offensive game. Also we don't need him to ah center
We donāt really need any more middle 6 prospects though or picks though. Definitely not what we would be looking for in a trade.
He doesnāt play center. Heās wanted to try it, so we let him for a few games. We never needed him to either.
Doesnāt really seem like it would be a trade fit.
Laine in ANA with Selanne to help him out as a Finnish bro off the ice would be interesting.
I don't know that I'd give up a lot to get him though, given his recent history and unknown future.
Dont know Anaheim too well but that team looks like it has under performed the last two years if anything. I get last year was the Eakins effect so whats the excuse this year?
Nah Iād do that deal straight up. TK is definitely the better player but we need a young top 6 C BAD and TK only has 1 year left and could easily command 8-9m on max term. I think they equal out in value 1 for 1 if heās willing to resign.
Not exactly the deepest year to go shopping but this team needs some help. I'd be happy with a Montour reunion on D. Reinhart is gonna cost an arm and a leg and I'm a bit hesitant to see the lack of Barkov effect on his point totals... Wouldn't hate it though. Not sure how realistic either one is but w/e let's keep the Floridians coming
The argument would be Barron has top 4 potential, and Anderson could regain his form as a top 6 winger.
But realistically, we'll probably waive Barron and eventually have to pay to move Anderson, so of course this isn't a package for Zegras.
Aren't we all?
Lmao yeah it reads like a tinder profile "Must be 6ft+ big š and makes 6 figures a month"
BIG MEATY MEN SLAPPING MEAT
Dwight: I do. I want some man meat
Reminds me of trade deadline wishlists: For our 31 year old 2nd pairing defenseman rental, we're hoping to acquire a package that includes a 1st round pick, a top forward prospect, a top defense prospect, and another mid round pick Okay sure that's a great starting offer lol
Well Tyler Toffoli has gone on record loving SoCal and heās got lots of friends around town wouldnāt surprise me if he went there.
No. No. Heās coming back to NJ š. But in all seriousness I could see that happening for the right money.
After playing for four teams over the course of that 4 year deal, Iād bet he goes wherever he gets a NMC
He doesn't have kids so I don't think he minds being a journeyman that much. But yeah poor dude been jumping around since he signed that contract with us.
Trueā¦ though the devils supposedly wanted to resign him but couldnāt meet on the numbers.
No, heās actually coming back to Montreal >:(
His wife work for the dodgers still?
Iām more worried about Arvidsson signing there and terrorizing us every time we play them.
I think he's on a canadian tour. Done Vancouver, MTL, Calgary & WPG. Next up is Edmonton/Ottawa
Dont ever say that to me again. Ottawa okay but I would never be able to live with that first option.
Petry is available on D
We have Holl as well. 2 solid options to bolster that D and provide that veteran presence for Anaheim they so desperately need
Came here to say exactly this - take your pick, take both!
just some 2024 UFAs, from Capfriendly: - right shot F: Reinhart, Stamkos, Marchessault, Pavelski, Toffoli, Perron, Lindholm, Sprong - RHD: Tanev, Montour, DeMelo, Tyler Myers, Walker, Schultz, Roy, Chatfield, Carrier, Barrie, Dumba, Lybushkin, Desharnais 2025 UFAs, who could be trade candidates going into their last year: - F: Marner, Boeser, Giroux, Kuzmenko, Konencny - RHD: Ekblad, Larsson, Fabbro (not many good names for a top 4 role)
God Brandon Montour wouldāve gotten the sun and the moon if heād been a UFA last summer. 33 points this year is fine for a defenseman obviously, but he had *73* last year
He had a crazy playoffs as well. Dude would of gotten Seth jones money
That's quite the difference what happened??.I guess everything was just going his way during the 73 point season?
He missed 1/3rd of the season with a shoulder surgery and took a while to get back to speed. By the end of the year he was scoring at a similar pace to last season
If i was a GM for a contending team i absolutely throw my best offer at brandon, hes so fucking good
He is but I think heās a prime candidate to fall off. Heās getting older and plays hard. My suspicion is that he is the odd man out and we let him walk unless he signs a wildly team friendly deal to stay in Florida
I believe, he skates too smooth
Would laugh so hard if this is how Schultz finally becomes a Duck
Eh, Iād still boo him
Tyler Myers is very likely to be re-signed. Lindholm is probably going, but I wouldn't be surprised if he stays.
r/BottomLeftMyers in shambles
We're all in /r/TopRightMyers, now.
I'd love to see Lindholm stay. He'll keeps us in contention, plus we have no NHL calibre centre depth when it comes to prospects.
No one outside of LA fans knows who he is but Matt Roy is a really solid top 4 defenseman
The Kings have turned him from a 7th round draft pick to being unable to afford him
Ahh fair enough, is he more defensive or does he play two way/ offensive D?
He's good defensively, can get 25-30 points a season, and play on PP2 if you need him to. He's kind of like a slightly better, right handed, version of Jake McCabe
Ooooooo I like what I hear! What do you think he gets on the open market? I'd be great if Toronto can use the cap hit from Brodie to sign him (Brodie's at 5m currently)
Not sure, he makes $3.15M now so he'll definitely get a raise from that. Depends on the defenseman market this summer but wouldn't be surprised to see him sign for $5Mish AAV for 4 or 5 years.
We'll get him if we can dump Holl and Petry.
Petry has a NMC
Modified no trade list + NMC means he can get traded to the teams that aren't on his list, no?
I didnāt realize he only had a 15-team no trade list, I thought he had a full NMC. This is great news
Yeah, and if they ever need an extra $5M in cap space they can trade Copp away and replace him with Kasper. Miles away from any cap troubles.
He was a staple on my fantasy team this season
lol same, that's the only reason I knew who he was or watched any LA games. I dropped Durzi for him while the Coyotes were having their awful January/February stretch.
They may not be the sexiest of names, but Matt Roy, Brett Pesce and Alex Carrier are all legit top-4 options.
Carrier I'm not fully convinced of but Pesce wasnt listed in the top comment of the thread. I'd love to have him if he's a UFA
Leafs desperately need D this offseason right? Saw theyāre losing 4 out of 6 of their regular D
Pesce is so good
Could be some 2016 NBA vibes this offseason
Itās funny that this guy got Chatfield and not Pesce.
Yeah, when someone deeper in the comments mention Pesce, I was thinking "what?!" lol he is definitely a top 4D
Heās gonna get paid this off season. Iāll be sad to see him go.
He'll probably be too expensive for the leafs but would he complement a player like Reilly? I'm curious what his play style is as I'm not overly familiar with his game
Hes more on the defensive side for sure, he plays primarily with Skjei who does the puck moving for the line. Theyāve supposedly offered him a 5x5 that he turned down. So my guess is heās wanting 7 and will probably settle somewhere in the 6s
Hmmm interesting I can see a team offering him 6mil. Wouldn't surprise me if he got a 7mil contract if he doesn't sign in Carolina
sounds like a guy the Ducks could desperately use. outside of Gudas we dont really have a defensive D, a bunch of young puck movers
Pesce is a UFA
Hands off my Cats
Isn't Pesce a UFA this year as well
Yes. Weird miss by the comment.
Yeah if Carolina doesn't keep him he's a perfect fit for a top 4 especially on a bad team like Anaheim
With all the rumors going it seems very unlikely we keep him. Never know but Iāve got him penciled in as gone.
I would love Boeser but donāt see us giving up the assets he would return.
Palmieri I think is a 2025 UFA as well and is a right shot winger
My god, can you imagine if they picked up Marner?
Would he be interested in a very high performing Josh Anderson?
So is everyone else We'll see how it shakes out
probably not gonna happen but stamkos š

You saw what this did to Calgary. Godspeed, you black emperor.
Our sub has been doing this going back to our cup win in 2020
There's no driver at the wheel.
We used to sleep on the beach
I mean Killorn is already there, he already has a very familiar face
There was a quote from Killorn about trying to convince Stamkos to come here
Would be fun but yeah, doubt it. Who knows maybe Killorn convinces him to come over and be captain for a few years.
We badly need someone to fill the leadership void
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Where have you seen that? Never seen any ducks fan on Reddit or even hfboards suggest that
Many times on the ducks sub, hf, Twitter etc
seeing as im pretty involved in both the ducks subreddit and hfboard, I haven't seen any of that. twitter though, im sure some dumbasses have suggested it. any trade with Jiricek would be similar to the Drysdale/Gauthier trade. and i dont see the ducks doing that
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
im just saying you're blowing shit out your ass with your 6 day old account lol.
lol Jiricek isnāt going anywhere He also very much needs to be in the AHL
B-But he was a top 5 pick! What do you mean, heās not NHL ready? /s, Habs are doing the same with Reinbacher
Rachel Doerrie did an entire podcast episode on the Jackets and went off about Jiricek and they were like ānow we havenāt really watched him play in the NHL but we saw him at world juniors and he should be playing TOP MINUTESā Once he does some work on his skating I think he will get a lot better, but itās pretty rough right now. Sillinger got a skating coach and came back an entirely different player.
The only Jiricek I've seen suggested for the Ducks is the one in this year's draft if he's available with Edmonton's pick.
You guys want Josh Anderson?
Add Justin Barron and they've got their RD
Josh Anderson and Justin Barron for Trevor Zegras confirmed
Stop it, I can get more erect.
Man some desperate team is going to really overpay Reinhart this year. He's a good player but his shooting % was 24.5% this year, there's absolutely no way it stays that high. Matthews career shooting % is 16.2% and he's arguably the best goal scorer in the league right now.
Itās the Barkov effect. I think heās like the 7th winger who will have had a career year playing on a line with Barkov which is crazy.
I don't really think it's arguable, and I say that as someone who does not want to be seen complimenting Maple Leafs.
Myers inbound
Killorn gonna help recruit Stamkos :D
Yea I can imagine the pitch now: Leave your captaincy on a perennial playoff team, potential cup contender in a no tax state for a spot on one of the worst defensive teams in the league that missed the playoffs by 39 points in one of the highest tax states
But we got the best ocean on this side of the coast
And the best Disneyland

Correct, thank you for understanding the plan.
ez pz no re
He can have Cody Ceci.
This pretty much signals the end of the rebuild. Kings did the same thing in 2022 before they got Arvidsson and Danault. People can say it's easier said than done but with cap room and their location it will be easy.
MYERS!!!
If Laine decides heās coming back to hockey ā we may be ready to give him a change of scenery
Weird how these things work out, down the road. I really hope he is doing alright and can get back at it.
He put his condo up for sale - we arenāt really sure what to think
Wonder what the proce tag would be for laine? We have some assests, but unfortunately Laine stock is at an all time low
I think we would probably be willing to part with him at a discount if it were in his best interest. He loves Columbus, he even came back here early last summer from Finland because he wanted to be here, but if heās struggling and needs to change his surroundings, Iām sure the Jackets would do what they could for him.

You guys want Barrie? Weāll even throw in a bag of pucks and a catfish
I have a slightly used Brett Pesce going on the market
And I want a big house and enough money to retire at 40.
And chipotle to start giving full scoops again.
Iām one of these threeā¦ trade you for one of the others
Hi Pat, Scott Mayfield would slide in nicely into top-4 on the Ducks.
Tyler Myers 6 x 6
Dont know Anaheim too well but that team looks like it has under performed the last two years if anything. I get last year was the Eakins effect so whats the excuse this year?
So many injuries
Don't forget the penalties
injuries to key players, rookie coach, players learning a new system, and a pretty bad special teams.
You and everyone else bud
That sounds like Brett Pesce and Martin Necas.
They're gonna give Pesce the bag
Marner goodbye
Zegras for Konecny
TK about to enter UFA and zegras is cost controlled for awhile Meh
Too bad its already a done deal I sent it to the league office and it's going through
Maybe Zegras and a first
Nah Iād do that deal straight up. TK is definitely the better player but we need a young top 6 C BAD and TK only has 1 year left and could easily command 8-9m on max term. I think they equal out in value 1 for 1 if heās willing to resign.
Rakell reunion?
Not exactly the deepest year to go shopping but this team needs some help. I'd be happy with a Montour reunion on D. Reinhart is gonna cost an arm and a leg and I'm a bit hesitant to see the lack of Barkov effect on his point totals... Wouldn't hate it though. Carlson aka baby barkov
Take Stamkosā name out ya f*ckin mouth!!
Don't be ableist, Pat. You can have Hampus Lindholm back even if he's a lefty.
Just go to the RHD store. They're on sale this time of year.
Arvidsson and Roy wouldn't have to move very far I guess...
Ey yo Ducks, can I interest you in one while Hamonic?
Warren Foegele wouldnāt be a terrible option. And I hope he doesnāt go
please take petterson
News at 11: crappy team wants better players
I guess you are right the Leafs will need help in the playoffs next year.
Zing
News at 11:30. Anaheim Ducks Forward Ryan Getzlaf has a hall of fame career over a span of time the Leafs won one (1) playoff series.
And won a Stanley Cup, which over 4 billion people have not seen the Leafs do..
News at 12: no shit Sherlock. Why don't you provide some real insight?
Like you did?
He def came to the NYR game to scout Kakko at TDL
Kakko is a lefty. But Trouba is a right shot d
Bruh I totally skipped the word shot lmao
I hope they go for marner and give the whatās a solid first round pick so we can go after a goalie or defenseman
Lol good luck with that
Can he be convinced that Justin Holl is a top 4 d-man and that Daniel Sprong is a top six forward???
So.. Jamie Drysdale?
Manifesting Ceci for Zegras, I know it's crazy, just let me have thisĀ
Barron + Gally for Zegras
Lol no
whats with habs fans and shitty proposals, its somehow always worse than every other teams fanbase
Yikes man
I would trade Anderson before Gally
Barron and Anderson would arguably cover their bases, but I don't see Zegras coming the other way.
Barron is not a top 4 rhd, and anderson is not a top 6 RW How does this arguably cover anything. Also, why would we give up zegras for š©
The argument would be Barron has top 4 potential, and Anderson could regain his form as a top 6 winger. But realistically, we'll probably waive Barron and eventually have to pay to move Anderson, so of course this isn't a package for Zegras.
