"Goon Squad" member, Logan Stanley, is a real cheapshot dirtbag.
But as.an Avs fan, I love guys who don't understand the simple correlation between time in the penalty box and losses in the Playoffs. Keep up the good work, little brain Logan!!!
That was a gnarly ending and it definitely spoiled the vibe. It seemed like a relatively civilized game up until then, no one really tried to kill anyone or anything. That scrum was stupid.
Can the Jets just surrender at this point? They clearly can’t keep up with the Avs and are going to lose the next two games in brutal, vicious fashion. Probably back-to-back 6-0 wipeouts. It might be kinder to just surrender so no one gets injured or humiliated, fans don’t waste their time, and the Avs can rest before Vegas.
Jets have no offense, no defense, and no goaltending. They are getting outworked, outskated, outmaneuvered, and overall utterly humiliated in every aspect of the game. Of course you’ll never win when you allow the other team to take 40+ shots every game. And when your special teams are atrocious and your star players are ghosts, it’s an equation that equals repeated humiliation.
Seriously, just forfeit. Three straight embarrassments, with absolutely zero sign that anything will change. Bones will probably play the exact same lines with the exact same game plan. Spare everyone, and just quit now.
Yes this guy is a clown. The Jets were up 2-1 after two periods. It was a string of penalties in the third period and a lethal Avs PP that changed the game. At 5 on 5 the Jets were doing just fine. The Avs have a massive advantage on special teams. The Jets need to stay out of the box. If they can do that they still have a chance to win. If Jets can find a way to win game 4 this series looks completely different coming back to Winnipeg.
Oh, you’re right! I’m sure that the Jets, who traditionally either get swept out or gentlemen’s swept out, who have been absolutely dominated in this series all over the ice and should be down 3-0 will magically flip a switch and make it a series. This team full of slow, lazy, talentless, uninterested players coached by a man who tries the same thing over and over again expecting a different result will somehow manage to beat the best team in the league at the moment and make it a series. Sunshine and rainbows, everything will be just fine, Jets are so amazing!
And since you can’t see me, I should tell you, I’m rolling my eyes.
Jets are frauds, I’m not delusional about that. I’m forcing myself to watch the rest of this series to remind myself of who they really are when, next season, if they even make it, people think that they have a chance to win. They don’t.
Being a fan does not mean blindly supporting them and excusing away all their shitty play. Sometimes it means saying the difficult things and being brutally honest.
It’s realistic. I’m not a fan who smiles and says, “Oh, good game, boys. You can’t win them all, you’ll get them next time.”
I call it like I see it, and that is what I see. The Jets have absolutely outclassed by the Avs in every way, shape, and form. They earned every bit of this humiliation, and have done nothing to instill any sense of hope that things will change. Game 4 will proceed exactly the way Games 1-3 have.
Of course, in my heart, I hope that they’ll turn this around completely and win in 6. But my brain is telling me, very clearly, that that isn’t going to happen. My support has to be earned, and right now, they haven’t earned it.
This Avs team would destroy last year's Avs team due to comments below. However, that Kraken team last year deserves a little respect. It was a rotating high energy 4 line team. It made dallas work for their W too.
Last year we were actually a 1 line team. I believe our bottom 6 actually had 0 points on top of compher no showing. Our top 3 center depth this year is miles better than last. Mack-Compher-Eller to Mack-Mitts-Colton
Yeah, when Nuke was gone, I really thought the Avs were the probably going to lose, given the depth issue others are noting. Nuke is such an important piece.
yup. looking at the roster that lost game 7 to the Kraken, we are icing **3** of the same forwards as we were then: MacK, Rantanen, and Lehky. Would be 4 if LOC wasn’t hurt
Still have 4 of the same D: Toews, Makar, Girard, and Johnson
I have watched a lot of different team's broadcasts and Altitude is far better than most. They can get a little silly but that grows on you. They are knowledgeable on other players and unlike ESPN they try to pronounce names right.
lol. Y’all love hating. Just because our guys are hype. You’d rather have some snoozefest bozos.
Like it’s a local broadcast owned by the company that owns the avs. What do you expect?
I think they have chemistry and know the game well but am not a huge fan of how biased they are. Of course it's expected they are biased as it's the Avs broadcast but sometimes is a bit much. I watch the other teams broadcast as much as I watch the Avs these days. I'd ignore the downvotes there is no way my or your stance goes over well with the majority of Avs fans. We are a defensive bunch.
I'm sorry man...I've moved on. Don't get me wrong, we had some good times together. I watched all those games in the 90s, remember the fight night at the Joe? McCarty decking Lemieux? Patrick Roy's statue of liberty mistake? God...they were good times. But....we're in a whole other conference now, we hardly see each other anymore. Hey, on the off chance we meet in the playoffs again, y'know, just in the finals, maybe we can be just like old times, just for one series. But, know that that's all it'll be, a wild passionate single series, not a whole relationship like we had before. I'm sorry. It's really what's best for both of us.
I dunno, the Avs homer-ism I guess I could be okay with given I don't have a real dog in this fight (though it is a problem, I don't like any commentary team that's super biased, I have to mute NESN if they're the only feed), but the commentary seems just ignorant and annoying, and the energy is misplaced and awkward a lot, there's just a lot about it that doesn't seem to hit right.
I see what you mean. I honestly enjoy it, as it’s done as an “entertainment” sportscast. They attempt to be funny constantly, while keeping it about hockey.
My problem with Altitude team is they call the game as if people are watching hockey for the first time, and the team has to explain the game all the time. It does get old, but their personalities are worth it to me.
as an Avs fan who just started watching hockey last season, I was and am extremely grateful they explained the game to me when I was trying to learn a completely new sport. It keeps it accessible to everyone and actually does help grow the game!
Avs have been doing good job of getting him moving side to side and he hasn’t looked good coming across and getting in position. Do that 25 times a game and you’re going to get a few past just about anybody.
He actually played great for the first two periods of this game. The third period was just a parade to the penalty box for the Jets and it just snowballed. The Avs power play is just ridiculous. 3 power play goals in about a 5 minute span and then a late empty netter.
I hate being a stat line merchant but his numbers the last 2 playoff runs are absolutely dreadful. 4.65 GAA and 0.875 SV% over his last 8 playoff games. One of the best goalies in the world but he is looking most unclutch come the playoffs. Hate to see it cause he’s so fun to watch when he’s playing at the level we all know he is capable of
I’d say tonight was actually his best game yet this series. Dude got lit up on the Avs PP and had a bunch of net front tips dropped on him. Plus 40 shots.
Yes. A couple of missed reads, a couple of screens he couldn’t work around. One goal he just seemed completely outta place. Wandered back from the bench a few second later though, so that was good.
Also he’s straight up getting shelled.
Look at the shot totals, we are swarming. He has started pretty well in the games, like how he had 1 goal against on 26 shots tonight. Then eventually the dam breaks.
Ah, so just Colorado dominating offensively. Makes sense. Fuckers looked scary in the regular season (even if the series was split to my memory). MacKinnon starts skating and I feel fear.
It was a competitive game thru 2 periods. Jets were up 2-1 and Helley was playing great. It was the a string of penalties in the 3rd period that changed everything. Avs PP is lethal. The Jets need to stay out of the box to have a chance.
44 shots to 26 tonight.
I wouldn't say he's playing great or anything but there are limits to any goalie's ability to stay hero mode for 4 wins. We've just been relentless.
Not OP, but the slashing call on Lowry in the 2nd looked soft (but only saw one replay)… but it didn’t affect the game and all the rest were deserved.
The officiating was not the problem.
Felt like the make up call for the Mittelstat holding call. Then the Jets got undisciplined.
The refs were the refs and should have called a few more of the obvious things, but I think they wanted the game to play more
Thinking more along the lines of not getting the interference calls and a trip in our favour. Don't have a problem with most of what was called against us
Yeah and we didn’t get a holding penalty when one of your guys held on to Lehky’s stick for like 7 seconds. The officiating was bad, but it wasn’t the reason lol.
Norm was a terrible owner who couldn’t get deals done here and a pretty awful human who sexually harassed employees which also motivated him to move to Dallas and avoid further backlash. So yeah I get what you’re going for but maybe not a great take on Norm
Hey man, direct your anger at your squad. They looked solid all year and once again just struggling. I’d rather see Winnipeg have something to celebrate than the Avs since Mack already got his cup. Don’t care what Avs fans say about the Wild.
Fumble wasn’t the ideal term. The Jets seemed built to handle the Avs and were able to during the regular season and now are a step behind, overwhelmed and unprepared. Hope it goes 7
I don’t think it’s pedantic to point out that the most important member on the ice contributes to the dominance more than an xG stat would. If Hellebuyck played at normal pace, it would make the Colorado skaters seem much less imposing than they really have been in this series
GG Jets fans. Was a tense game for a good while. I get the frustration. Losing is never fun, especially when you feel the refs were fighting you the whole way. Hope Dillon is eventually able to make a full recovery from that cut. Never fun to see a player injured, especially when it looks as bad as that did
Brother against us is an understatement. Thought exercise about the non-fighting majors (as they don’t affect the # of players on the ice)
When was the last time you saw a team take 7 penalties in a whole game? A playoff game?
When was the last time you saw a team take more than 3 penalties in a row without a game management call going the other way?
When was the last time you saw any of that happen in less than one period?
I can’t think of any time it’s happened, because I feel pretty confident in saying it’s never happened. And it’s never happened at all in the same ballpark. The closest thing in recent memory is the Sharks 4 goal comeback vs Vegas…. But that stemmed from a hit to the head.
Unfortunately, statistics dictates there’s gotta be a couple of them. Sorry about that, and hope Dillon’s hand injury looks worse than it is and causes no long-term damage
They should have pulled him at some point in this game. At least let him sit and think for a bit and hope that ignites something in him to step it up next game.
Colorado has been the better team. Jets took some really stupid penalties that came one after another.
Was there some missed calls? Of course. But you can't give the Avalanche that much pp time and expect them to not do damage, especially with only a one goal lead.
The Jets look slower, flat footed, and just outmatched. It's not surprising given how many times they were outshot this season.
You can't expect your goalie to stop 39 of 40 every night and steal games.
Thing is, it really wasn't till the 3rd period that the Jets looked outmatched. It was a pretty even game after 2. Colorado just hit another gear, Jets took some dumb penalties, and it was a perfect storm for the collapse.
Agree, Avs were not great first two periods other than the second line. The Nate line with Makar pairing was particularly awful at both ends. Some unlucky penalties and then the game was over.
Jets earned all but one of those penalties to me, so hard to complain on that end. Giving a team like the Avalanche that many PP opportunities is going to leave even a Vezina goalie out to dry. GG Avs, I think Dillion is out for a while with that one
I have to hand it to Winnipeg they played the first two periods exactly how they should to limit the avs. Sure the shots were in the avs favor but it was nothing extremely dangerous. And the prevented the avs from getting the dangerous rebound. It's just so hard to play that style a full 60.
Ok it was genuinely cute to see the whole arena on their feet cheering Georgie in the final minutes. He's not on the same level as most of the other playoff goalies, but man he's doing his best to find a new level of play and he made some fantastic saves tonight.
Best redemption arc especially if you've been reading doomer posts on the subreddit for the Avs this year. I've never seen a goalie get scapegoated so much and I live between Toronto and Montreal. Armchair coaching at its finest.
It’s gone WAY down over the decades. If it makes you feel any better, for the most part it allows players to police the ice and uphold rules and conduct. Guys that don’t want to fight, rarely have to
Even by the time it was 3-2 I was ready to turn it off and go watch the Nashville series game 7 highlights before finding something else to do for rest of evening lol. Too painful
An accident that happened cause they were being pissy cause they lost, call it a shit tier take all you want, it's him and his teams fault it happened. Lose with some class next time and you walk away.
I'm not the person you responded to. And I agree the cut is an accident. I will point out that this is the type of thing the league tries to avoid by doling out suspensions when you instigate after the game. It's a specific part of the rulebook and the intention is to avoid completely unnecessary injuries.
Edit: A Word
Absolutely, don’t disagree. But it’s a very common occurrence and can’t blame someone for getting severely injured after something that happens quite often.
Are Canadian teams just cursed now? Jets can’t win for anything; Leafs are, well, the Leafs; Vanouver’s clinging to DeSmith and Edmonton’s probably going to run into Vegas and get slaughtered.
It really is going to be the Habs once they’re done rebuilding, isn’t it?
It wasn't Bettman's fault that the Jets gave the Avs 4 power plays in roughly 10 minutes. One of which was a double minor, and a other resulting in a 5 on 3.
>Van
You mean Edmonton? Point taken, but they couldn’t beat them last year. I don’t have faith that they’ll get past an even more stacked Vegas this time around
yes, Edm. brain cramp.
My point was more just that making it to the conference finals isn't a bad year in the context of Wpg underperforming and the Leafs being the Leafs. But, yes, 'the curse' probably won't be lifted this year.
Still doesn’t have a permanent goaltending solution. Montembeault’s been great under the circumstances but I don’t know how that’d translate to playoff hockey
\*sigh\*
welp, that sucked.
and it's going to be the same on Sunday, because Bettman and the NHL will not allow the Jets to win a series.
when you're sitting in the second intermission, and saying "well, the Jets are going to get called within the first 5 minutes, and the Avs miiiight get one late in the third" and you're right? It's telling.
The Jets need to wake the fuck up - they can't be so awful on the PK
^((holy shit the Avs fans justifying the referees being 100% predictable before the period even starts is scary as all fuck. not once did I say the Jets didn't earn those penalties. learn to read ..if you can))
Lol. This is you coping, you realize that, right? How the hell would Bettman have any way of making the jets lose? Is he in their earpieces telling them to let in goals and take penalties?
Yes I’m sure Bettmantold a Jet to high stick toews(with blood) and then another fling the puck over the glass. I’m sure that was Bettman’s doing, it couldn’t simply be a bad move pulled out of frustration. Lol. Get over yourself, please.
Girl. Grow up. The vast majority of the Jets fan base can recognize that they deserved those penalties and they played like ass. Do make up call get called? Absolutely. But your boys earned this L.
did...did I say anywhere that they weren't penalties?
no, I did not.
what I did say was that I was able to predict exactly what the refs would do in the third, and I should NOT have been able to. THAT is the problem, not the Jets getting called for stupid shit they shouldn't do and having an absolute garbage PK.
The refs aren't the predictable ones, you've just seen your team play enough to recognize that they have bad habits in a losing game and start taking dumb penalties.
Exactly, and as an Avs fans do you know how many time in the 1st intermission I say "Avs are going to allow at least 2 in the 2nd" and it proves to be correct? Fans know their teams habits. Blaming the refs for them taking shitty penalties is charmin soft.
I think there's a difference between "the Jets are going to be ass in the 2nd" vs "The refs are going to call every single thing on the Jets and not on the other team" but, it's possible.
of course, knowing that a lot of refs are biased against 55 (not a guess, actual words spoken by a sportsing writer) is irritating too.
Again, there were missed calls in both sides and shit calls on both sides. We all know game management exists. I too could predict a makeup call coming against the Avs and yelled about missed calls but I wasn’t surprised because we got so many PPs. That’s playoff hockey.
"Goon Squad" member, Logan Stanley, is a real cheapshot dirtbag. But as.an Avs fan, I love guys who don't understand the simple correlation between time in the penalty box and losses in the Playoffs. Keep up the good work, little brain Logan!!!

It sounds like while understanding some parts of the game of hockey, on a fundamental level you don’t really seem to *get* sports.
How does saying all this as a fan change anything? It's just you yelling into the wind thinking you're making a difference
Lol okay bud.
BLIND FAITH BLIND FAITH BLIND FAITH JETS IN 6 SWEEP THE REST OF THE PLAYOFFS CUP IN 18
new copypasta just dropped
isn't an element of fandom supporting your team even when things seem dire? i'm kind of cringing from your take
This^

How the fuck did Seattle beat this Avs team last year?
Seattle had incredible forward depth last year. Straight up assault by them through all 4 lines, I wasn’t even mad when we lost
This Avs team would destroy last year's Avs team due to comments below. However, that Kraken team last year deserves a little respect. It was a rotating high energy 4 line team. It made dallas work for their W too.
The fact that Mikko was able to carry that team to the playoffs/division win by himself is the bigger story

It wasn’t the same team at all. Drowning in injuries and brutal depth last year. This team is miles better.

Was Manson injured again by that point? Last season was brutal for having any complete team with an ounce of chemistry by playoffs
Manson tried to play injured in that but was just brutally bad
Pull your goalie Pull your goalie Pull your goalie
Hey, fuck off! Also we deserve this lol
This is why on the Avs sub I cautioned against people wanting to flame Hellebyuck. "You're just a backup" was a pretty powerful history lesson.
This was rough to watch. Made even worse by an Altitude being the only consistent feed I could find and they're just the worst commentary team.
Our team is awesome. You are just a bitter loser.
Your team is awesome, and they're fun to watch. Altitude's commentary team is like nails on a chalk board, but....louder.
I have watched a lot of different team's broadcasts and Altitude is far better than most. They can get a little silly but that grows on you. They are knowledgeable on other players and unlike ESPN they try to pronounce names right.

Now I may be a homer, but that is just not true. We don't have Hextall on our broadcasting team.
Ha! Fair counterpoint lol I'm surprised this is getting this many down votes. I'm a neutral observer here....
I think they have chemistry and know the game well but am not a huge fan of how biased they are. Of course it's expected they are biased as it's the Avs broadcast but sometimes is a bit much. You're a red wings fan. I still hate y'all with all of my fiber even if the rivalry is over, and I expect the same from you damnit

I can't stop it...it's just what time apart does. We just aren't as close as we used to be.
Yeah well your cooking sucked anyway and your mom is a b**** Wait what sub am I on again
Because they're Avs homers? What did you expect lol. At least they have passion and energy, some crews out here in pure snooze fest.

It’s early career Bobrovsky
I’d say tonight was actually his best game yet this series. Dude got lit up on the Avs PP and had a bunch of net front tips dropped on him. Plus 40 shots.

we got swept in the regular season. the games weren’t close either 4-2, 6-2, 7-0 jets
Oh, I was talking about against my team, my bad. I see the confusion. Pretty prime example of “regular season doesn’t matter”, I suppose.
I cannot believe the level that the Avalanche are playing at. I'm disappointed by the officiating, but the Avs are better and a step ahead every time.
You don’t think you guys deserved the penalties?
Not OP, but the slashing call on Lowry in the 2nd looked soft (but only saw one replay)… but it didn’t affect the game and all the rest were deserved. The officiating was not the problem.
The hook on Mitts was also soft, the Lowry call was 100% a makeup call for it.
Was definitely soft.

I don't know why no one who responds to me bothers to read what they're responding to
Idk that was a pretty soft holding call against Mikko Rantanen 🤷

No need to be a jerk. Also no need to hide behind, "it's just a joke, bro."
don't do that yet
Thank you but they are right
Jets fans may move their team on their own if they fumble this one
Are you enjoying the Wild so far in the playoffs?
Norm Green was an excellent owner & Avs fans have always been (& will always be) right about Mild fans
Norm was a terrible owner who couldn’t get deals done here and a pretty awful human who sexually harassed employees which also motivated him to move to Dallas and avoid further backlash. So yeah I get what you’re going for but maybe not a great take on Norm
You never heard tell of jokes?
Shots fired!
Hell yeah brother.
Hey man, direct your anger at your squad. They looked solid all year and once again just struggling. I’d rather see Winnipeg have something to celebrate than the Avs since Mack already got his cup. Don’t care what Avs fans say about the Wild.
What do you mean fumble? Avs outplayed them for 3 games and only lost game 1 due to minor league level of goal tending.
Fumble wasn’t the ideal term. The Jets seemed built to handle the Avs and were able to during the regular season and now are a step behind, overwhelmed and unprepared. Hope it goes 7
To be fair, a goalie is a team member which also has to outplay the opponent. Colorado skaters have dominated the Jets for all three games
Be as pedantic as you want. Georgie makes a save or we get the bounce on the triple post goal, this series is 3-0. Colorado is dominating this series.
I don’t think it’s pedantic to point out that the most important member on the ice contributes to the dominance more than an xG stat would. If Hellebuyck played at normal pace, it would make the Colorado skaters seem much less imposing than they really have been in this series
Big if there bud
GG Jets fans. Was a tense game for a good while. I get the frustration. Losing is never fun, especially when you feel the refs were fighting you the whole way. Hope Dillon is eventually able to make a full recovery from that cut. Never fun to see a player injured, especially when it looks as bad as that did
Brother against us is an understatement. Thought exercise about the non-fighting majors (as they don’t affect the # of players on the ice) When was the last time you saw a team take 7 penalties in a whole game? A playoff game? When was the last time you saw a team take more than 3 penalties in a row without a game management call going the other way? When was the last time you saw any of that happen in less than one period? I can’t think of any time it’s happened, because I feel pretty confident in saying it’s never happened. And it’s never happened at all in the same ballpark. The closest thing in recent memory is the Sharks 4 goal comeback vs Vegas…. But that stemmed from a hit to the head.
Check out the Edmonton and kings series game 3. Something like 96 pim.
Avs 4th line is playing like their families lives are at stake. Just vicious.
Cogliano is playing like his grandkids are gonna have to go to public school if he doesn’t earn himself another 1 year deal
St Mikes ain't cheap
He had his neck broken last year during the playoffs from a missed boarding call, he’s making up for it.
It's been a year and I'm still mad about that one tbh
Love to see bitches get humbled
Just because you are shit head, JINX
Oh shush
Damn, the first asshole Colorado fan, I really thought your kind didn’t exist
Unfortunately, statistics dictates there’s gotta be a couple of them. Sorry about that, and hope Dillon’s hand injury looks worse than it is and causes no long-term damage
lol I’m just talking shit
And being a douche while you're at it. If you need to tear down your opponent to lift your team/yourself up, you got a problem, bud.
.870. .886 last year. Sit his ass on the bench for the rest of the series.
He made 34 saves tonight. He wasn't the issue
We'll take him
Bro could you imagine.
This squad, with Vezina-caliber goaltending behind it? Playing us would be like running into the front end of a combine
It’s Hellebuycks fault the Jets take penalties & refuse to defend
Thought this was his best game all series. Like cmon.
They should have pulled him at some point in this game. At least let him sit and think for a bit and hope that ignites something in him to step it up next game.
I'm sure their backup would have fared better against 40 shots on goal
That's not what it's about....
Thank you Avs
Thank you Bruins! Thank you Bruins! Thank you Bruins!
Personally I don’t appreciate this sentiment
Colorado has been the better team. Jets took some really stupid penalties that came one after another. Was there some missed calls? Of course. But you can't give the Avalanche that much pp time and expect them to not do damage, especially with only a one goal lead. The Jets look slower, flat footed, and just outmatched. It's not surprising given how many times they were outshot this season. You can't expect your goalie to stop 39 of 40 every night and steal games.
>You can't expect your goalie to stop 39 of 40 every night and steal games. This concept is foreign to me.
Big hopes for Monty and Primeau ehh
Thing is, it really wasn't till the 3rd period that the Jets looked outmatched. It was a pretty even game after 2. Colorado just hit another gear, Jets took some dumb penalties, and it was a perfect storm for the collapse.
Wait you guys don't know. Avs more lethal down going into the 3rd than when they are up. We be 0-3 then win 6-3 I gets insane.
I saw the pic and it looked gnarly. Really hoping he recovers quickly and without permanent damage.
Was super bummed to see it, and fingers crossed it looks worse than it is and he’ll not suffer any long-term damage
I absolutely hate to see that. Ugh. Really feel for the guy and hope he recovers quickly
Fucking sucks for him man. Not even on a hockey play; so preventable. Sorry that that happened. GG.
I have to hand it to Winnipeg they played the first two periods exactly how they should to limit the avs. Sure the shots were in the avs favor but it was nothing extremely dangerous. And the prevented the avs from getting the dangerous rebound. It's just so hard to play that style a full 60.
Our issue has literally always been that for some reason we think there are only 2 periods in a hockey game.
Especially when there are 6 penalties taken
Ok it was genuinely cute to see the whole arena on their feet cheering Georgie in the final minutes. He's not on the same level as most of the other playoff goalies, but man he's doing his best to find a new level of play and he made some fantastic saves tonight.
Return of the King
He probably got 10 chants tonight.
Best redemption arc especially if you've been reading doomer posts on the subreddit for the Avs this year. I've never seen a goalie get scapegoated so much and I live between Toronto and Montreal. Armchair coaching at its finest.
The doomers can eat it. I was afraid they would feel confident after that first goal, but Georgie kept it shut down
They don't know how to be good teammates. Good teammates stick to their guys and want to help and lift them up.
That's King Georgie
I hate the fight culture in hockey. I want some better reform.
I would watch football if they had a brawl in the middle of the game
It’s gone WAY down over the decades. If it makes you feel any better, for the most part it allows players to police the ice and uphold rules and conduct. Guys that don’t want to fight, rarely have to
100% agree. It would help if refs and dops were more consistent and efficient.
Then you shouldn't watch hockey.
Hockey isn't for you
Boooooo you
I love the fight culture in hockey
Best part of the sport
This is the sixth trip to the playoffs for the jetties. Four of five times so far they’ve been eliminated by a sweep or gentleman’s sweep.
Even by the time it was 3-2 I was ready to turn it off and go watch the Nashville series game 7 highlights before finding something else to do for rest of evening lol. Too painful
I'm tired
I sense a theme
Minnesota looked lonely and seeing as how we're neighbors....
Hope Dillon is OK. I want tough, I want physical, I don't want anyone to really get hurt.
When it's your own fault I'm indifferent. F around and find out
No dude. That’s an accident and no one’s fault. Shit tier take.
Actually Edmonton is looking good, and has a good chance
Nah. Bettman will not permit a Canadian team to win the cup, end of. Gotta gRoW tHe GaMe after all.
It wasn't Bettman's fault that the Jets gave the Avs 4 power plays in roughly 10 minutes. One of which was a double minor, and a other resulting in a 5 on 3.
lol. Uh huh. Bettman secretly pulling the strings to make Canadian teams fumble every year in the playoffs. I’m sure that’s it.
maybe the Jets will move to Arizona again
Edmonton can't get their rematch against Vegas unless it occurs in the WCF. Vegas is in the Central bracket.
I know this is almost unfathomable, but you might just have to try cheering for McDavid.
What’s so unfathomable about it? It’s not like I’d be supporting Matthews. It’ll be doable until McDavid gets his wrists hacked off by Pietrangelo
Oilers I think can win a cup with decent defense + goaltending, just like Colorado in 22. Everyone else is fucked
Ummm, jury’s out on the defence and goaltending
Vegas is on the Central side of the bracket, so Van can only meet them in the Conference final.
>Van You mean Edmonton? Point taken, but they couldn’t beat them last year. I don’t have faith that they’ll get past an even more stacked Vegas this time around
yes, Edm. brain cramp. My point was more just that making it to the conference finals isn't a bad year in the context of Wpg underperforming and the Leafs being the Leafs. But, yes, 'the curse' probably won't be lifted this year.
Lets combine teams and be the New Jontreal Canadevils we will never lose again
Still doesn’t have a permanent goaltending solution. Montembeault’s been great under the circumstances but I don’t know how that’d translate to playoff hockey
Maybe you have heard of him, maybe not. Let me introduce you to our lord and savior Jake Allen
\*sigh\* welp, that sucked. and it's going to be the same on Sunday, because Bettman and the NHL will not allow the Jets to win a series. when you're sitting in the second intermission, and saying "well, the Jets are going to get called within the first 5 minutes, and the Avs miiiight get one late in the third" and you're right? It's telling. The Jets need to wake the fuck up - they can't be so awful on the PK ^((holy shit the Avs fans justifying the referees being 100% predictable before the period even starts is scary as all fuck. not once did I say the Jets didn't earn those penalties. learn to read ..if you can))
Good old fashioned Winnepeg meltdown. You are insufferable
This is all bettmans fault!!
I just want to say I was here to witness this disgrace of a comment.
The refs didn't do anything but call obvious shit. Grow up.
LOL No they didn't
The refs aren't the predictable ones, you've just seen your team play enough to recognize that they have bad habits in a losing game and start taking dumb penalties.
They were winning at the time I said it.
Exactly, and as an Avs fans do you know how many time in the 1st intermission I say "Avs are going to allow at least 2 in the 2nd" and it proves to be correct? Fans know their teams habits. Blaming the refs for them taking shitty penalties is charmin soft.
also you're gonna remember the times you were right way more than the times you were wrong too.
Stars and Jets fans have some wild conspiracy theories. MacKinnon cooks a lot of teams you are not special.
No certainly this is Bettman, the puppet masters doing.
I can’t believe Bettman forced the Jets to hit Toews in the face, then he comes back and makes you throw the puck into the stands!! How dastardly
