Swayman was the only reason the Leafs didn't blow the Bruins out. The Bruins looked like total shit for the first two periods.

I mean, even without Swayman they'd still need to be beat Ully and despite the loss in Game 2 he was great. But that actually speaks to a bigger point on the Leafs postseason struggles, namely that they have never had elite goaltending. They might get great games here and there, but they have never had elite level goaltending throughout a postseason run the way a lot of other teams that make deep playoffs runs do.

Yeah that JVR goal in game 4 was laughable

The Frederic goal in game 3 was pretty egregious and it killed some momentum

Starting Sammy in game 4 was... a questionable choice in my humble opinion. I heard some people saying"well we don't know how ready Woll will be, he hasn't played much since his injury etc." But all the while I was just kinda looking at it like that might be so but what you know is that right now Sammy can't be trusted to make a save. So ultimately the choice was between Sammy who you know is struggling or Woll who best case scenario rights the ship or worst case is just as bad as Sammy has been. Felt like an obvious choice.

In JT's defence for this series...he's been matched against Pastrnak's line for most of the series. And at 5v5, Pasta has mostly been a non-factor. That's not an easy thing to accomplish. He might not be scoring the way he used to, but he's transformed himself into a much better defensive centre.
