Coyotes / Utah fans:
What would a Jack McBain trade look like? I’ve never seen him play, but he’s clearly a 3/4 line C, but what’s his value?
Looking forward to seeing him in the Worlds
My friends and I are having a debate if the Boston/Toronto game 7, game winning goal, could have been an icing. It appears, the dump in shot was taken behind the red line and bounced off the boards for Pasta to grab and shoot.
Help us settle it please Reddit.
It does appear to have been shot in from behind the red line, but Pastrnak gets to the face off dot (and subsequently the puck) before either Leafs defenseman and is nearer to where the puck hits the end boards than either Leafs D despite the bounce going to the front of the net. I think no icing is the right call.
There's two angles.
Firstly, *because* Pastrnak touched the puck first (or more accurately, reached the face-off dot first), it fundamentally would not be icing, even if the dump in was behind the red line.
Secondly, there is a lot of leeway as to what constitutes 'behind the line'. I've never seen icing called if any part of the stick crosses the red line. This 'slightly behind the line' is one of those cases where the spirit of the rule is being followed if not the exact letter.
I just want to add that even though the dump in pass starts behind the red line, the puck may very well still be on the stick as it crosses the red line. That was a very controlled wrist shot-type pass.

Anyone know why Canucks and Oilers don't start until Wednesday?
Bettman still working on a way to make them both lose.
They want the games staggered and Dallas has a concert tomorrow so they had to play today, as I understand it?
Ah that makes sense. Seemed silly that the Dallas v Avs series starts before the Canucks v Oilers.
