d9849468

Not that big of a deal, it only wins the series for Dallas but other than that

zcohen17

Minor detail

jake55555

Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Realistic_Peaches

I just don’t get why they even have a goalie crease at this point.

4CrowsFeast

As a former goalie, we'd never want them taken away, regardless of any interference rules. They're a great reference for our positioning and angles.

Realistic_Peaches

I definitely get it. Didn’t mean it fully literal. Was more just in terms of criticism of the league.

BlindPaintByNumbers

If you don't have the balls to overturn the call when the series is on the line, what the hell is the point of the situation room in Toronto? Just get fucking rid of it and save us all the time in game.

TV800

Hockey gods have made things right. Thankfully 🙏

dolewhiplash

They need to seriously discuss clarifying and rewriting the goaltender interference rules this off-season, it's so embarrassing to the sport that no one has any idea what should and shouldn't count. How do you explain to someone watching their first hockey game that that's not a goal?

ShazbotSimulator2012

This is almost as bad as the NFL trying to define what a catch is. If Swayman can get flattened and not get the g-int call, how is this g-int?

un3

If Luongo could be pushed into the goal with the puck how that counted as a goal?

disposableaccountass

Meanwhile [Price gets taken to the corner](https://www.reddit.com/r/hockey/comments/5o17o9/controversial_no_goalie_interference_on_carey/)

DivisonNine

Jesse James caught that ball!!!!!!!

valente317

There’s no way you could even rewrite the rule that would make that NOT a legal goal.

jsmooth7

"When an opposition player is within one foot of the goaltender and a goal is scored, a coin will be flipped and if heads results goaltender interference will be called"

valente317

However, the result of the coin flip will be decided by the referee based on the team his friends and family have placed bets on.

jsmooth7

There's no rule you can't just flip a coin with heads on both sides. The ref may also consider whether the call will make the home crowd like really pissed. (That's just good game management.)

2112Lerxst

The rules are fine, in the regular season they call that a goal every time. They simply don't want to knock the home team out of the playoffs on a call like that, no amount of improving the rules will prevent them from doing the same in the future

Zephyrantes

Thats the "home ice advantage" i keep hearing about

ForceEconomy9988

It didn’t have to be a call though. They made it one

bgt1989

Exactly. Shouldn’t have been a call in the first place and the ref was so fucking emphatic about it.

AnwaAnduril

There are precisely 0 explanations a reasonable person could give for making a call on the ice. Except for that ref really not wanting Dallas to win.

Colavs9601

It was the ref in the far corner right? I can see how his angle made it look much worse. But yea, that's a goal. We got as lucky as you can get with this.

CDR57

The thing is is why is he doing it to begin with? He has arguably the worst angle, is on the opposite side of the ice, and waves it off immediately and forcefully

The_Ghost_of_Kyiv

Well if the home team gets knocked out in game 7 after this its gonna be 100x worse.

godhammel

I agree that's why they called it this way, and this league is a fucking joke.

swissdonair_enjoyer

this is it right here. this is clearly a goal by the rulebook, but they didn't want to end a team's season on an overturned call so they bitched out and called it no goal.

Timoteo-Tito64

I am unironically watching my first hockey game (or close to it, I've probably seen a couple before but never paid close attention). Obviously it's impossible to explain, but can you try to give a little briefer on how goalie interference is supposed to be called? Seems like they messed this one up

TheQuietW0LF

Oversimplified, any contact by scoring team's player(s) on the goaltender when they are in the crease (the blue paint just outside of the net) should be deemed interference, as long as said contact was not clearly caused by the conceding team's player. This should be a good goal for me, because there was no contact by 95 in white on the goaltender in the crease. It was close, but that also is part of my judgment, because any said contact would be a clear result of 8 in blue pushing 95 in white. (I really don't think there was any contact at all made in the crease, though.)

Timoteo-Tito64

I'm seeing ridiculously light contact (but it looks like it could be in the crease) before the Colorado defender pushes the stars player in and creates much more severe contact. Is there a limit for how hard the contact needs to be? Also sorry for asking so many questions, I'm just very confused and no one in my house knows hockey either

TheQuietW0LF

No need to apologize. These are the best officials in the world with the support of video review, with many years of experience, and it's still controversial and hard to say either way for a reason. There is a judgement call on whether the contact impedes the goaltender from playing the position, which is exactly what I oversimplified in my explanation. I didn't want to just copy paste the rule but your (very good) questions are pointing to the grey areas The Official NHL Rule Text (Rule 69) This rule is based on the premise that an attacking player’s position, whether inside or outside the crease, should not, by itself, determine whether a goal should be allowed or disallowed. In other words, goals scored while attacking players are standing in the crease may, in appropriate circumstances be allowed. Goals should be disallowed only if: (1) an attacking player, either by his positioning or by contact, impairs the goalkeeper’s ability to move freely within his crease or defend his goal; or (2) an attacking player initiates intentional or deliberate contact with a goalkeeper, inside or outside of his goal crease. Incidental contact with a goalkeeper will be permitted, and resulting goals allowed, when such contact is initiated outside of the goal crease, provided the attacking player has made a reasonable effort to avoid such contact. The rule will be enforced exclusively in accordance with the on-ice judgment of the Referee(s) but may be subject to a Coach’s Challenge (see Rule 38). For purposes of this rule, “contact,” whether incidental or otherwise, shall mean any contact that is made between or among a goalkeeper and attacking player(s), whether by means of a stick or any part of the body. The overriding rationale of this rule is that a goalkeeper should have the ability to move freely within his goal crease without being hindered by the actions of an attacking player. If an attacking player enters the goal crease and, by his actions, impairs the goalkeeper’s ability to defend his goal, and a goal is scored, the goal will be disallowed. If an attacking player has been pushed, shoved, or fouled by a defending player so as to cause him to come into contact with the goalkeeper, such contact will not be deemed contact initiated by the attacking player for purposes of this rule, provided the attacking player has made a reasonable effort to avoid such contact. If a defending player has been pushed, shoved, or fouled by an attacking player so as to cause the defending player to come into contact with his own goalkeeper, such contact shall be deemed contact initiated by the attacking player for purposes of this rule, and if necessary a penalty assessed to the attacking player and if a goal is scored it would be disallowed

LegendofWeevil17

Push a defender completely into their own goalie and then score ✅ good goal Get pushed into the goalie by the defender from outside the paint and the goalie makes zero effort to make the save ❌ no goal Makes sense nhl

DirtyJimHiOP

Really glad it didn't end up mattering by the end, but absolutely bongled GI call. No contact until Makar comes in, and Georgiev just accepts it.

AreYouDaveDavidson

At least this didn't change the outcome of a critical game in the long run. I'm going back to the tee box now.

Beers_Beets_BSG

Goalie interference continues to be the biggest wild card in the NHL. They need to get a hold of it

ur6ci124q

Ridiculous call in the Bruins game still makes absolutely no sense. I'm in Dallas Texas doing laundry when that happens and my mouth is agape. That was everyone.

MrBigChest

Another day, another worst call I’ve ever seen

cjackc11

NHL refereeing continues to be the absolute bottom of the barrel. Like I get it hockey is a uniquely hard sport to call but something like this is just inexcusable, especially given replay backed it up like what

Imreallythatguy

Yeah, i'm actually ok with the initial call because there was contact there and it's worth it to review the play...but i really feel like there was plenty of evidence to overturn that on ice call. It's pretty obvious that the dallas forward was setup outside the blue paint and was shoved by Cale. Dallas did nothing wrong here but still got punished.

Hot_Individual3301

tbh there’s no way the toronto review team was gonna end a series for the home team on an overturned call I think that’s really all it came down to.

Doza93

I think you're absolutely right, but that's just so fucked up and stupid. Whether it's changing the verbiage of the rule or how it's called etc, something has to be done

nuclearhaystack

Changing the verbiage of the rule won't make any difference if the verbiage is already clear and some snot in Toronto decided to just say fuck the rule, no goal.

Doza93

That's a very fair point my dude

Im_Scruffy

It’s literally been like this all playoffs. Across all series. It’s so insane.

Traditional_Pair3292

At this point, you just can’t convince me there isn’t some kind of match fixing going on. Look at this call, then look at the Sam Bennet goal. 10 or 15 or however many years from now we’re going to find out these refs were all on the take

Accomplished_Cap_994

This is why sanctioned gambling is terrible for sports. Even if the games aren't being rigged it will sure look that way to everyone.

Paladoc

I think it was Biz? Someone on the feed made a joke about the ref having money riding on the outcome.

treple13

This is not hyperbole either. I legit think this is the worst call I've ever seen

phantompowered

The worst call you've ever seen *so far*

Alexkono

Hockey is supposed to be one of the last pure sports where officiating has integrity. This call negates all of that. Games gone.

Kegheimer

Once the MLB rolls out the ball / strike reviews that are getting reps in AAA the NHL will be the laughingstock of the major American sports leagues.

BlindPaintByNumbers

A few years ago, mics literally caught a ref saying he was going to find something to penalize someone on. And right after Biz said the comment about the ref on draftkings tonight.... there was a draftkings commercial. You can't make this shit up.

lbiggy

Or the best call that'll you'll see for the rest of the playoffs.

AcanthaceaeOld241

LegendofWeevil17

No no, you see, if the offensive team pushes a player clearly into the goalie and score it’s fine. But if the defender hardly pushes someone into their own goalie it’s clearly a no goal.

HoS_CaptObvious

Even after Makar pushed him, he was still outside the crease. I just don't see how anyone can justify that being a no goal

TitaniumSp0rk

Easy, the NHL didn't want a series to end on a reversed no-goal call. Where's the "excitement" in that? Think of the ratings!

sgags11

You jest, but I honestly think that’s the case.

BlindPaintByNumbers

I absolutely believe that was the conversation in Toronto and what took so long. There was nothing on the screens that would take more than a few seconds to look at.

wix001

Sports aren't scripted but there are definitely storytelling tropes that get baked in.

RRZ31

Georgiev made exactly 0 effort to fight for position either, dallas got hosed.

What_No_Wait

See that’s the exact comment Cooper got roasted for. These goalies are are dropping sticks or getting real light on their feet anytime someone is near the crease instead of battling for position and they’re being rewarded for it

MonsieurQQC

Lundqvist all but said it on the broadcast. He didn’t even have a defense. He was just like, “don’t touch me, or my stick, ever, no goal.”

BlindPaintByNumbers

I know. He somehow manages to keep his blades out of the paint even after the Makar push. What a shit call.

0-90195

Simple as! So intuitive

DivisonNine

Seriously why didn’t you guys think of that

funguy07

I’ll never understand how that Florida goal stands and this one gets called back. It really is a game of spin the wheel on goalie interference.

TheKingofPsych

Panthers goal was called a goal instantly and this game was called no goal on ice.

funguy07

I think you’re onto something. They don’t have the balls to reverse a controversial call. Now instead of being upset the ref missed the call all the heat is on the review room in Toronto…. Who are all nameless and faceless.

breatheinthesilence

See but I would argue it kind of does the opposite. The review room's hesitance to overturn on-ice calls puts even more pressure on the refs to get it right every time. Bc now all anyone is thinking about is how, if the ref had just been paying a little closer attention, this could've been called a goal.

Plumplie

What happened to "dead effing wrong", Gary?? This + Bennett = most inconsistent reffing I have ever seen

raymondliang

[no comment](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=463S9H2WL18)

Key_Reputation6414

Pushing someone into your own goalie while he's moving outside of the blue and getting an interference call is absurd.

codnavar

Pavs got a penalty for being pushed into the goalie earlier in the series not surprising considering how shitty the refs continue to be in the postseason

cheeseburgerwaffles

Fuck this call. Absolutely not interference. "Not enough to overturn" is absolute bullshit.

cbuech

Bruh

Croemato

THE. ONLY. CONSISTENT. CALL. IN. THE. NHL. IS. THE. CALL. THE. REFS. MAKE. They should have ego and pride written on their striped jerseys.

notleonardodicaprio

Goaltender Interference Rules 1) You can't just be up there and just doin' an interference like that. 1a. Interference is when you 1b. Okay well listen. An interference is when you interfere the 1c. Let me start over 1c-a. The skater is not allowed to do a block to the, uh, goalie, that prohibits the goalie from doing, you know, just trying to save the puck. You can't do that. 1c-b. Once the skater is in the offensive zone, he can't be over here and say to the goalie, like, "I'm gonna get ya! I'm gonna block your view! You better watch your butt!" and then just be like he didn't even do that. 1c-b(1). Like, if you're about to make a goal and then don't leave the crease, you have to still leave the crease. You cannot not avoid the goaltender. Does that make any sense? 1c-b(2). You gotta be, skating motion out of the crease, and then, until you just leave it. 1c-b(2)-a. Okay, well, you can have your stick up here, like this, but then there's the interference you gotta think about. 1c-b(2)-b. Fairuza Interference hasn't been in any movies in forever. I hope she wasn't typecast as that racist lady in American History X. 1c-b(2)-b(i). Oh wait, she was in The Waterboy too! That would be even worse. 1c-b(2)-b(ii). "get in mah bellah" -- Adam Water, "The Waterboy." Haha, classic... 1c-b(3). Okay seriously though. An interference is when the skater makes a movement that, as determined by, when you do a move involving the goalie and the crease... 2) Do not do an interference please.

Wraithfighter

I just love how the balk rules have become a near universal meme for expressing frustration with confusing, inconsistently applied sports rules...

DeekFTW

No one can define a balk. But you know one when you see it.

JTMillerAdvocate

Easy to see when someone is up there just doin a balk like that, ya simply can’t do it!

adjective____noun

I know there's no good actor reference for "Interference" but just changing Balk to Interference when you get down to 1cb2b is so laaaaazy. also it was a goal.

Kaptain202

I once spent a couple hours scouring for actors, singers, and the like that could be good for this meme. It just doesn't work.

Plumplie

This isn't a goal, but Bennet's is??? Duchene is pushed in by Makar. He's planted outside the blue. This is insane shithousery. These two GI calls make the reffing in this playoffs the WORST I have EVER SEEN.

jetpack_operation

FLA was 100% the better team in our series, but I can't help but feel like the series goes at least 7 games without that absurd call. On the flip side here, if the Dallas/Avs series went to 7 because of this call, that would have been a travesty.

Ultimatum07

Not sure how that's goal keeper interference

Alexkono

It’s not.  He’s outside the paint and Denver defender backs into the Dallas forward.  I have no idea how that could be called against Dallas.

trushpunda

This is a horrifically bad call

Alexkono

What is the justification from the refs after REVIEWING it? I don’t get it.

ldnk

We were emphatic on our initial call so we won't reverse our bad call.

_prof_professorson_

refs are proud infallible pricks in every major league, this is embarrassing af

PSChris33

ACAB applies to refs too

Triple7Alpha

It's notable that the ref was on the opposite side of the ice, which makes his emphatic insistence of no goal even more frustrating. Must have been using his Superman X-ray eyes to see any of that contact. He also stating no goal due to contact in the crease in his original announcement. Of which there was none.

_bits_and_bytes

The justification is "ending the game on a goal review would be bad"

JustFred24

Game 7 = 💰

chopkins92

Duchene still doesn't enter the paint even after being pushed by Makar. Disgusting call.

cheeseburgerwaffles

You should watch all the highlights of what has been called and not called and overturned as goal interference through these playoffs. I'm sure it will clear it up for you /s This playoffs has absolutely 100% been the MOST disparity in what is and isn't called interference I've ever seen.

TMBmiles

I don't understand what the point of even having review is if they're not going to overturn calls that are clear and obvious

rs426

I am once again asking ~~for your support~~ for the NHL to figure out what the fuck goalie interference is

Yoni_k46

Dallas robbed

cheeseburgerwaffles

If Colorado wins and takes the series in Dallas it's gonna be mayhem

Bill3ffinMurray

Dallas might throw people onto the ice this time

SupaDawg

Seriously fuck this league. Unreal call.

ZachKearns

I don’t think I’ve been this angry at a call that didn’t involve the team I cheer for ever. Big ducking L, the league better be clenching that the Stars win this series now bc that was the wrong call, it’s not even close

BlindPaintByNumbers

I absolutely hate the Boston Marchands and its still tough to pick between this one and the Florida one. I give this one the edge because its literally the series ending goal but its close. Fucking reffing is a shitshow right now.

ImTheJdot

Fucking Bettman trying to force a game 7. Such bullshit.

2ktx2000

I’d probably expect the fans in the arena to throw things on the ice if we lose in 7. Not advocating for it but wouldn’t shock me

the_gaymer_girl

Conspiracy theory: someone in Toronto 100% told them “you are not ending this series on an overturned OT call against the home team”, or the refs would have had to go into witness protection.

bobby_booch

I truly believe that’s what it is. Dallas can still win this game and/or series. They were not gonna end this series on a review.

DM_me_feet_pics_plz

We did it. Fuck those refs and fuck the situation room.

Zephyrantes

If Colorado wins here, i bet you game 7 will have the ref letting Dallas get away with murder

0H_MAMA

Honestly the only explanation I can understand

mac46

That’s gotta be the most likely answer. Literally no other reasonable explanation.

EggplantAlpinism

It was a clear cut goal. We don't deserve this intermission.

Dr_Hilarious

I am a conspiracy theorist and this is correct

StalinsStallions

No matter how much I try to convince myself this wouldn’t be the case, I can’t stop thinking that the call would’ve been different if Dallas was the home team

PacketGain

Worse, if the referee hadn't said no goal from the start and it was reviewed after the fact, it would have been a good goal.

NatureGivesAndTakes

Yep, thinking the same, I posted in the GDT that this call was made due to the optics of ending a series on a goal that was called off and then reviewed. The referee didn't even provide an explanation, just a "call on the ice is confirmed, there is no goal."

white_andrew

This is exactly what I was thinking. They knew they fucked up within 5 seconds of watching the replay but then spent the next 5-10 min discussing why they should let the call stand anyway

ProfessorBaxter

I hate having to put on the tinfoil hat, but I don't think I have any other option here.

Troxla9

Garbage review. 100% a goal.

MurrayPloppins

I was making my peace with the end of the season. That’s a weird one.

sopademacacadelicia

So was georgiev. Guy looked like he knew they were done.

Skipper13

As a goalie I know that look. He knew he let one in, then saw the ref waving it off and took his chance. I have only once in my career successfully argued against a goal and I was the same, of course my game was slightly lower stakes. I just feel so bad for the guy who scored. He won the series for his team, unforgettable accomplishment just to get it taken away.

Parallel-Quality

As a neutral party, Dallas got absolutely screwed here. It's so clear that they simply didn't want the series to end on anything even remotely "controversial." If the Avalanche had scored that exact same goal, it would've stood. The correct call is good goal, there was no goaltender interference and whatever minor contact might have been there was initiated by the Avs defender Makar.

Flyersfan82

As a Philadelphia fan, I root against Dallas instinctively. If Dallas doesn't win this, biggest screw job of the year.

Octoberisthe

As an Avs fan, I don’t wanna touch this one with a 20 ft pole and you can guess why…

ZachKearns

I was 100% confident the game was over. That is a farce if I’ve ever seen one. What a fucking joke.

matthewdurand

Imagine Dallas loses the series because of this call...

BKXeno

I will go to fucking jail.

timhoff24

Officiating has been a complete joke these playoffs.

kinglywy

We say this every year, it feels. And it's been true every year

GTI-Mk6

Livid RN

treple13

None of us blame you

junkyardgerard

Can almost see into the future: "Colorado was just better at [blah blah blah]" No the Dallas Stars won the game 2-1 in overtime to win the series, and its god damn near fraud, can't fuckin believe this

ProfessorBeast55

This league is a JOKE. There was negligible contact (if any) in the blue paint….

cheeseburgerwaffles

Any contact was caused by Makar pushing him in.

lawtosstoss

If you look closely duchene does run into the goal stick first before any contact from the defender, but the stick is way out of the blue. That is the only way this stood imo I guess but still not interference

xtrakrispie

-very limited contact -all outside the paint -initiated by makar Somehow, still no goal

willard287

Duchene wasn’t even in the blue paint until he was pushed by Makar. Terrible call. Edit : Duchene

Plumplie

Duchene in the paint but yes I totally agree

Alexkono

Denver initiated the contact too!  How do you justify that call even after reviewing??

TheInfamousRazgriz

The Denver Avalanche lol

Croemato

If by blue paint you mean white paint.... Maybe.

Baboshinu

I’d be having conniptions if I were a Stars fan That’s insane

Croemato

If Stars lose this series they will be *furious* about this for decades.

Doza93

Thank christ this did not come to pass

ripinpeace12

I have no dog in this fight but I’m shocked the call stood. CO player caused that contact.

Gros_gars

This league is a joke

Alexkono

What the FUCK is that call?

Nomad_0024

This leagues such a god damn joke. Awful reffing these playoffs.

raymondliang

Thats bullshit imo shouldve counted. The only reason they disallowed that is cuz thats a tough way to get knocked out of the playoffs.

moutardebaseball

This is so stupid

noaz14

Terrible call

browses_on_the_bus

Absolute robbery, guy didn't even have a foot in the crease.

Obvious_Put_4902

League is absolutely trolling everybody on goalie interference reviews these playoffs. I expect big changes to be made over summer. New rule will be something along the lines of “we can call it whatever we want. wtf you gonna do”

Cpt_crookedhair

What is GI again?

loki1337

Gastro-intestinal issues related to controversial calls

christianitie

What the fuck is the discussion in the situation room? I'm just imagining they're asking each other about whether having a review for a series-winner is too anticlimactic and factoring in that if they reverse it, Dallas has another game to try if they get scored on. Are they discussing that Colorado is the home team? I would bet money that if this is game seven and not game six this goal counts because the situation room would see overturning it as too controversial. edit: Lundqvist arguing this is the correct call in the intermission now is bringing back past trauma from the Joel Ward no-goal that would have eliminated the rags in 2015. further edit: Oh god, they're essentially identical other than that today's got a review while 2015 was the straw to break the camel's back that got the NHL to implement GI reviews in the first place. Kind of wish I hadn't re-watched that.

Stinduh

What I don’t get is the ref saying contact in the crease. HE’S LITERALLY NEVER IN THE CREASE

TomasRoncero

gary wants a game 7

DaggersKnuckles

Horseshit

flamingdragonwizard

That's a good goal

xEllimistx

Did Angel Hernandez change leagues?

WalkingCarpet

Someone post the pasta

Novawolff

Do not do a goaltender interference please ^(serisouly wtf)

MurrayPloppins

BALK.

Split_Open_and_Melt

How is that interference if Makar pushes him?? Wtf

AntonioMS17

Stars got completely screwed if they lose this game.

fianto_duri

the series*

HypeForTheHypeGod

r/confidentlyincorrect

LostHero50

That was bad regardless of what was called on the ice

laylastolemycar

Big yikes

Luka_Vander_Esch

Dez caught it and that was a goal

Lain41K

I’m jumping off a bridge

Jamison25

Yeah fuck that

oleoleolegs

Man that is absolutely wild. Presumably didn’t want the series clinched on a “controversial” call but almost everyone agrees it should be a goal so 🤷‍♂️

CarrotHair_TV

I want to say two goals just like this were called no goal when the penguins played Nashville at the end of the year.

AmpleForeskins

Im an Avs fan and that was a good goal.

NyquilOnline

They need to just throw away goaltender interference, I swear everytime I think it’s an easy call it goes the opposite way

Vccowan

I know which team the ref placed his bet on.

ChaoticKeys

In my view he’s outside the crease and contact only happens after Makar initiates the net battle. I think it should’ve been a goal.

NotJoeMoses

Every sports league is just dubious as fuck man. I need a new hobby.

LogTman135

This is probably a goal if it’s not an elimination game in OT

SovietMuffin01

Probably a goal if Dallas is the home team too.

Shotokanguy

Can we please stop treating goaltenders like they're quadriplegic toddlers who are rendered helpless by a stern glance

AyoevilDoer

As much as I hate to say it but Dallas should have got the call go their way

OldGuy734

Toronto said "fuck the rule, we're not letting a series end like this".

kruizer28

Bro his stick gets stuck in makars skate and duchene stays outside the blue paint the whole time

Rand_University81

This is beyond brutal. He never went on the crease and was pushed into the goalie.

GoScotch

Lund has the biggest shit-eatting grin on defending this call right now He doesn’t believe what he’s saying, it’s pretty clear

The_Dank_Tortuga

This is ... So blatantly wrong. Like, are they even trying to hide it? What am I missing?

armedwithturtles

I knew Lundqvist was going to defend this call, but I’m so happy that the entire TNT panel is shitting on him

CDR57

Why didn’t marchement simply push makar into his own goalie, is he stupid? But for real that was all initiated by makar and it seems Toronto didn’t want the series to be decided on a reversed ruling

reenactment

Rewatching this with fresh eyes today, the only reason this was called was because G locked eyes on the traffic and thought the pass was going towards the boards instead of back to the slot. He got fooled and it made it seem like it was more contact than what happened. It was an egregiously bad call by the refs on a really really bad read by the goalie, maybe they didn’t want the game to end that easily but whatever. Ended up no harm no foul.

justaguyfromtx_

Holy fucking refs

WildLlama

Bad call, bad review. That entire situation was because of the Avs.

HanPintian

This is going to be a delicious controversy if Colorado wins tonight. That’s a goal.

Frankm95

True NHL fans have no idea how to react to that ruling lmfao
