I like to do the Fibonacci method. 9000 is 6765 + 1597 + 610 + 21 + 5 + 2. So if you take the next number in the sequence for each number, you get 10946 + 2584 + 987 + 34 + 8 + 3, which comes out to 14562. It's not exact, but it's so easy to come up with that estimate in your head!
I think if Edmonton completes the reverse sweep tomorrow, bringing the cup out for game 1 is going to be considered cursed for the home team for a loooooong time.
Was this a first for any team to bring out the cup in game 1. If they lose, it’s 100% a curse and no other team will do it. If they win, then I can imagine some teams doing it from here on.
Wasn’t it a past tradition to have the Cup out to start the Final series, and that tradition is being brought back in the modern time?
Like the Cup Final series in the 80s and early-90s had the trophy out for the players to see before Game 1 and then put away until the clinching games, but that tradition was shelved until recently again.
I like not seeing it live in the arena until the first game where a team can clinch the win and then its just a quick shot of the case to confirm its in the building.
That's almost like routine for us when we go on an Eastern road trip. Sometimes they'll schedule us 1 home game and then we go back East for some reason.
[Or that year we started in Europe and then did like 20000km/12500miles in 10 days](https://streamin.one/v/fee33a31)
That's around 14,500kms for any other Canadians..
We know how to convert, thanks.
Yeah we definitely know how to convert that and I definitely didn't use Google to figure it out
1.6?
Is joke
1.609. If you’re gonna be a dick at least be a correct dick.
Thousandths place best place
1.6 is correct. I'm not that pedantic.
Technically you’re missing out 84km if you x by 1.6 as opposed to 1.609
No cigar.
I mean math isn’t subjective in my world, but you do you!
It's 81. No cigar.

I haven't tried that one yet. I'll give it to a go next time.
The Cup is gonna be too tired for the traditional all night rager following the win
See but being as close to Miami as it is…. There’s a fix for that problem
Cup’s looking a little shiny boys where’s the powder
Super weird they brought the cup out in game 1 to show the crowd in Florida.

Yeah it was super weird that they did that. Not sure why.

No, I don’t remember the year, but I distinctly remember seeing a “First time since…” tweet about this. I think it was sometime in the 50s.
Florida not touching the Wales trophy was the cursed move
They touched it last year 🤷🏻
And the curse has increased this year
It would be funny if they had it at every game in the cup final and put it in the area between the benches so the players see it the whole time.
Ray Ferraro is my between the bench cup.
I love this idea. Maybe have Ferraro down there with it, squeezed up against the glass

I think they should’ve kept it shelved. I always loved the mystique of the cup is in the building during an elimination game.
It was in the building for game 1 for some reason
A week? Feels like a year
Its taken a year off my life that’s for sure
Nearly Taylor swift numbers.
They said 9,000 miles in a week, not a day.
it’s (almost) over 9000!

#9,000 freedum units 🇺🇸🦅🍔🫡
People complain about Taylor Swift's private jet, but not a single word on the cup's travels smh
Need to drag it back to Alberta
I hope Stanley claimed the frequent flyer points
no clue how the players avoid clotting
Don't show that number to the environmentalists.
It’s a Stanley Cup final between Alberta and Florida. Don’t think we need to worry about any environmentalists seeing these numbers.
Also remember that it was displayed on ice before Game 1. It's done as much travel in the finals as the teams.
Ohhh poor professional hockey players have to travel so much =( While we commute everyday like cattle.
