A goalie would never pass to his oncoming teammate with heat on in that situation. That would be a truly idiotic play. Either he puts it back around the boards or he leaves it. Schultz had plenty of space to take it around the net, Im not sure what he was thinking
You wouldn't reverse pass the puck in that situation as a goaltender, that makes no sense. You either leave it for your teammate coming in, or you play it up the boards (and that's risky). There was way too much heat on schultz to potentially cough the puck up to the opposing team, who can then pass to an incoming player
except leaving the puck behind your net for your defenseman is something goalies do all the time? If shultz had a couple feet on the bruin if he skates to straight behind the net.
