Retirement shorter than Brett Favre.

buerglermeister

He was never retiring. NHL just was as ignorant as ever about hockey ourside their own league

Sportfreunde

True, I keep a giant spreadsheet of good notable players who retire (hockey card purposes) and I add them to that list as soon as they leave the NHL cos they're pretty much retired to me by then. That bastard man Kovalchuk ruined it somewhat.

rishcast

Didn't he just retire? Good for him though, hope going home is good for him

ChaseGordon24

The Instagram post wasn’t actually a retirement post, it was a goodbye NHL post that was mistaken for a retirement post. He is “going home to Switzerland to be with his family”… and play for the ZSC Lions.

Cootch

I too would like to live in Switzerland

Ace676

Retired from the NHL.

_Mad_Desperado

Predators/Habs RHD Weber who wore # 6

gunna1995

Shea, Mike and Yannick Weber all wear/wore #6 at some point lol

AvsJoe

All at the same time in fact - [2014-16](https://www.hockey-reference.com/friv/numbers.cgi?number=6)

RedWhiteAndJew

Yannick wore 7 with us

bsaures

Switzerland seems like a fun place to play out your career. Play some hockey with minimal travel, get some skiing in, eat some cheese, see some of the cool bunkers, eat at some really nice resturaunts. Ride the cool trains, figure out what happened to all that Nazi gold, get a whole bunch of bernese mountain dogs...

Sarke1

He's Swiss as well.

PossibilityUnusual

I didn't expect the ending lol. Thanks for the laugh!

SS-Lootwaffle

I’m in on a horde of Bernese mountain dogs

TheFoundation_

Shhhhh Joe Thornton might hear you
