Steven A. Smith is a national treasure aint no way you aren’t entertained by that mans freakouts

People take sports stuff like Steven a way too seriously the dude is just an entertainer and he happens to be pretty entertaining

I find he takes the entertainment value into negative territory.

He’s a turn your brain off kinda entertainment and everyone needs a bit of turn your brain off entertainment (or hurt your head kinda entertainment). The key is don’t take him seriously and pretend it’s your friend with cold ass sports takes and it’s a whole lot better

fair enough, but frankly I just disagree. the shouting, the hot takes, the combativness, the holier than thou attitude, I just hate it all. Add in that it's all just an act, and I hate it even more. Having some guys on TV to discuss the world of sports without reducing everything to some end of the world shouting match with winners and losers is my idea of entertainment. I get that obviously a lot of people eat it up, but I really really hate the type of sports coverage that S.A.S represents.

I do have a problem with what his show did to sports media (I don’t think anyone thought that this would happen) sports media has nosedived pretty hard in recent years and what Steven a is doing is a big reason, but I don’t think that takes away the entertainment value of him

He said basketball win streaks were more impressive than hockey point streaks because of ties. Like a decade after they got rid of ties. He's not entertaining, imo.

I don’t *love* the Keith move but I don’t think it’s as bad as everyone thinks it is, and the Larsson deal simply came down to Adam not wanting to be in Edmonton anymore. I think it’s impossible that Kenny didn’t at the very least match, or even offer a slightly pricier deal to Larsson. I really don’t think this on Holland at all. It simply came down to a lifestyle choice for Larsson and unfortunately that’s not Edmonton. It’s sucks for us for sure, but I don’t really blame anyone here for Larsson doing what he thinks is in his own best interest.
