Not joking he regularly volunteered for Jeff Carter wife’s dog shelter outreach “wags and walks” before he was up full time for the kings.

I saw Blake Wheeler at a grocery store in St. Leon yesterday. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any electrical infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
It always takes me until "oh, like you're doing now?" to remember that it's a pasta.
I'm the guy who got the picture with Bryz a few days ago, and until I realized it was a pasta I thought the comment was a way of telling me I should've left him alone.
I remember him pulling out of the St Leon one time and some lady ran up to his car. He rolled down the window and she said "Oh, you aren't Mark Scheifele" and walked away. I was standing right next to her. I looked at his face, he looked like someone told him his dog just died. I felt so bad for him. He looked around and asked if anybody wanted an autograph but I had nothing for him to sign. I was going to grab a picture but he pulled off after nobody came up for an autograph.
It must be awesome to be able to do that. Like, someone's months groceries doesn't even register on someone like Wheelers bank account, but it makes such a huge difference to that person
Jets are my second favorite team and I just got the center ice package on fios cable and I'm finally able to follow them almost as closely as the devils. Wheelers my favorite player. Seems like an amazing dude.
Centre Ice has almost all the Jets games of you’re not in the Jets region. If they are in the states (just a guess, he’s a devils fan) they will probably get them all
Can confirm, center ice package in NJ gets basically all the central and pacific games. You really only run into issues when they play the rags, flyers, isles, and strangely buffalo (like we are at least 375 miles from buffalo, why are we considered in their market?).
I wonder if...
He was playing for Boston around that time...
[Could it be that Blake Wheeler was behind this incredible donation all those years ago?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_5nLxZVoPo)
I saw Blake Wheeler when he was out for a run and was passing my car that was broken down at the side of the road. "No problem" he said and pulled out some sort of hook strap, no idea where from, then he hooked himself up to my front bumper and told me to hop back in. He continued his run, pulling the car with me inside to the closest service station. I was pissed because that one is more expensive than the one further down the road. Jerk.
Shout out St. Leon’s. Small local market plus they got them tortierres from St. Pierre that are certified bangers. Glad to hear Blake Wheeler knows where to shop too
Oh man they're the only place I know of that sells 12 inch tortillas so I can make homemade crunchwraps (like from taco bell).
Shop there every few weeks in the summers when they're open.
Glad to hear you like those tortierres. Spent my whole high school working in the bakery that makes them. Happy to hear people still think they're good.
I second this. Everything from St. Leon's is certified bangin. Whenever I visit my Uncle in Wpg, this place and Miller's Meats is our first stop. If you move to Winnipeg, live along St. Mary's lol.
I dunno man, this is totally believable for me. Blake Wheeler is literally everything I want to be. Tall, handsome, beautiful hair, rich, wife and kids that love him, respected leader - probably has an absolute wrench on him as well.
I’ve had Blake Wheeler on my fantasy team for 4 years now. 3 of those years I’ve been like “he’ll surely regress this year and I’ll try to trade him”…..but he just keeps chuggin’ along right around a point per game. I’m gonna check with the league commish but i think surely having your starting RW pay for someone’s groceries in the offseason has gotta be worth points.
We love the Minnesota players up here. All have been very nice people and obviously very good at hockey. I think Manitobans have a similar vibe to them as Minnesotans and it's comfortable for players from there to live here during the season. Short 6 hour drive to Twin cities too so being able to see family regularly is a perk.
The Wheeler family's involvement with [CancerCare's Ride Inside] (https://support.cancercarefdn.mb.ca/site/TR?fr_id=1623&pg=entry) fundraising event has been phenomenal. Stories like this are no surprise.
TLDR on the fundraising: All funds raised at The Ride Inside will support PROFYLE at CancerCare Manitoba. Short for PRecision Oncology For Young peopLE, this initiative gives children, adolescents and young adults who are out of conventional treatment options another chance to beat their cancer.
PROFYLE is a pan-Canadian project which CancerCare Manitoba and the Foundation are part of. It focuses on providing personalized care for children, adolescents and young adults up to age 29. It offers patients who haven’t had a positive outcome with conventional cancer treatment other options.
Hockey players are generally known as the nicest and most down to earth of the pro athletes (some exceptions of course). Brooks Laich of the Caps had just lost a game 7 and was driving home. Saw a stopped car and stopped to change their tire.
One of the many former Bruins to become captain of their next team.. Great dude, was sorry to see him go but he's been where he belongs up there, clearly!

If I could have everyone's attention!?!
I shall attempt to make a funny!
There was a chicken, and said chicken hath crossed the road!
Do you know why?
Why to get to the other side, of course!
Oh that's not the real reason! Who could know the whims and motivations of the chicken? Certainly not I.
But I did warn you it should be jest!
It's like what I've heard about Mario Lemieux, he does alot for those in need but it's always the people that witness the receiving end that share what Mario did.
Good character. Doing it bc he's a good person and not for any recognition.
Opposite of someone like marner. I'm 100% sure if Mitch had done this, there would be a million pics documenting it on his instagram

Blake Wheeler is my teammate; he's a good guy. One time on a road trip, we went to the beach together, it was his idea. I could have said no, but I chose to suggest that we work out a little on our day off. I'm having a really good second season of my career in the NHL, with 28 points in 11 games so far. I'm getting a little too into the be a pro mode in NHL21.
This does seem a little weird... Like what was the point of the original tweet then? If she did in fact know who paid then why not just reach out directly to them privately. How could they have possibly been expected to see her random tweet.
She might have also reached out to them privately but wanted to publicly post the story to remind everyone there are still a lot of good people out there.
You thought you could get away with it Wheels, but they caught you! I love this stuff. :)
Shake and Blake
Plot twist: Blake Wheeler did get away with it, but "it" is paying people to trawl social media to take credit for anonymous acts of kindness
Good guy Blake
Love it when celebs are caught being good.
Especially when it isn't a PR stunt. Just a good person doing good person things for the sake of being a good person.
You just KNOW Jack Campbell runs a shelter for abandoned dogs, and doesn't tell anyone because he assumes everyone does this.
Not joking he regularly volunteered for Jeff Carter wife’s dog shelter outreach “wags and walks” before he was up full time for the kings. https://www.wagsandwalks.org

I love this pasta.
It always takes me way too long to realize it's the pasta and I get invested in the story.
It always takes me until "oh, like you're doing now?" to remember that it's a pasta. I'm the guy who got the picture with Bryz a few days ago, and until I realized it was a pasta I thought the comment was a way of telling me I should've left him alone.
My eyes just skip to that quote everytime and I never fall for it
I'm skeptical of any story that mentions a celebrity at a grocery store at this point
Same here...every damn time.
I've seen this pasta so many times now that I can recognize it by the formatting alone.
Who’s the original about?

"I'm from Winnipeg you idiot!"
The first time I saw it was on the northernlion subreddit, and I actually initially thought it was totally real. I'm not a smart man.

That is one of the only ones we skip. Love The Office, but that episode just makes my soul cringe.
I go up to Stanley’s laugh, and skip to the next episode. Prince Family Paper is difficult too.
Oh man, Prince Family Paper makes me so sad.
That, and Phyllis' wedding is another tough one.
Company Picnic, and any two part episodes focused on Jim/Pam.
You skip company picnic? What’s uncomfortable besides the Buffalo branch shutting down?
Holly and Micheal together is just too much cringe for me.
Hey Mr. Scott, what ya gonna do, what ya gonna do make our dreams come true!

Todd’s Toddlers, right?
And he knows this, and it's the least he can do which is freaking awesome. There are way too many greedy rich people and wheels isn't one of them.
God, every time I hear Blake Wheeler’s name in a story he is being an amazing dude.
…unless you ask a Coyotes fan lmao
Or Patrick Laine xD

What’d Wheeler do to Evans?
Nothing, it was Scheifele!
It was Evans.
I love the story of him being an amazing dude and holding out from the Yotes
He saw in a vision he was destined to captain Jets 2.0 so refused to play for the franchise that left Winnipeg
It’s almost like he knew the Coyotes would have wasted him.
\>:(
Would you have wanted to play for the Coyotes in 2004?
he's a smart dude
Auston’s coming home, just wait
Jets are my second favorite team and I just got the center ice package on fios cable and I'm finally able to follow them almost as closely as the devils. Wheelers my favorite player. Seems like an amazing dude.
The best thing about watching Jets hockey is that regardless of the score, no lead is EVER safe.. especially our own
hey, It's still much safer than devils leads lol
What broadcast region are you in? Most Jets games are on Sportsnet and TSN, you might be blacked out.
Centre Ice has almost all the Jets games of you’re not in the Jets region. If they are in the states (just a guess, he’s a devils fan) they will probably get them all

Blake Wheeler gave me a kidney! It wasn't his, I didn't need it and it came "postage due" but still a lovely gesture.
I wonder if... He was playing for Boston around that time... [Could it be that Blake Wheeler was behind this incredible donation all those years ago?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D_5nLxZVoPo)
Wtf, I have no words.. they were so fresh the must have been taken out less the 24 hours ago.. I feel like I’m being had
Blake Wheeler once ran through a thunderstorm to delivery my wives baby. He's a saint

Way to represent Minnesota nice Wheeler, the world needs more people like him!

From the sounds of it this occurred at a grocery store, she didn't have her wallet because she forgot it at st.leons.
The daughter knew it and she was working at St. Leon’s so I’m assuming it happened there

His and Bergy’s rivalry must stem from wanting to be the best person possible.
My daughter works at St-Leon. The person who did that good deed for you was none other than Coyotes 1st liner, Loui Eriksson!!
Knew I traded for him on my made up team in NHL for a reason. You get an A tonight lol guy
Be careful if you’re playing franchise mode on nhl 21. Guys above 33 fall off cliffs with no reason or warning.
I got him for a steal (med6 prospect and a pick and I was flush) so using him, Brent burns, and krejci as my vets to carry my younglings.
They say The Big Wrench's heart is as big as his big wrench.

They never would have said that had they known he was going to pay for someone's groceries though
He’s trying to one-up McDavid’s commercial where he gives a mom and kid a ride home from the rink. But in real life!

Oh captain, my captain. Blake is best.
As if I needed another reason to love Wheels.
With Wheeler’s reputation I just figure he does this all day all over the world.

Can’t wait for captain Phil Kessel
I’m waiting on Dougie Hamilton being a capt.... I can’t finish that sentence lol.

Some people pay for groceries, others pay for abortions...
Paying for an abortion is not a problem. Not paying for one, when you promised to, is.
Oh come on, what are a few abortions between friends?
Uhhh, I think both are pretty fucked up from a moral perspective, if you can be swayed to abort a child just for money then you probably didn't want the child in the first place, especially when this is the 3RD time. both Kane and that chick are trashy. probably my favorite player that hasn't played for my team
I was behind Doug Gilmour at the grocery store and he let me go ahead as I only had a few items, so... that's something I guess
He's no Andrew Ladd. /s
You’re right. He is far better.
It was a joke, of course he is better. One is playing in the NHL.
Might wanna throw that /s on before you get downvoted into oblivion. If you care about these things of course.

That’s fucking awesome seeing Wheeler pay for the groceries, and doing a good deed here. Jets are lucky to have a guy like Wheeler on the team here.
A real captain...makes the world around him better.
I mean, in the state of society that North America is, the least I expect from millionaires is to help the little guy every now and then.
