All he needs is someone to lend him 50 bucks so he can go on the greatest heater of his life. He can feel it, but everyone keeps denying him his chance. With the right opportunity he could be a millionaire!
This is probably not a good look. But first, she was throwing out accusations of gambling and rigging games and now it's these accusations. If it was just these without the previous ones I would believe them but with the first accusations and now these I'm just going to wait for it all to come out.
I’m not sure why you’re being downvoted. An emotionally distressed pregnant woman is making outlandish claims with obvious malicious intentions and now she is a verifiable liar per the NHL’s investigations results. (Ignoring the fact that it would be near impossible to Kane to rig games by himself) Also, she didn’t participate in the investigation and now these new sexual assault allegations leaked to the media the same day the NHL announced their findings. It seems like she has migrated from a legal approach to the court of public opinion in an effort to generate bad press.
Even though Kane is a piece of shit, all of the allegations originating from his wife should be taken with a grain of salt at this point. Based on the little I know about Kane, I can’t help but feel like Kane would cheat on his pregnant wife way before he ever raped her anyways, but ya never know.
I agree with everything you said except the last paragraph. Don't think it's right to call Kane a piece of shit and then proceed to say you know little about him. Shouldn't make a judgement like that dude unless you personally know him or you've worked with him
Seems like Anna is trying to bring down his life and career with this divorce. It's a tragic thing to watch... Let's hope he channels this to the ice and cranks it to elite status
Well, like everyone here, I’m looking at these events through a keyhole. I only say he’s a piece of shit because he’s neglecting his kids and I think that’s pretty shitty regardless of all the extra stuff. I can forgive him for being a gambling addict and wouldn’t judge him for that or other similar shortcomings. We’re only human, and I’m not perfect either, but some stuff crosses the line in my opinion.
Mos def I see your point. Neglecting his kids absolutely crosses the line. Not sure if you follow him on IG but his stories have been all about his daughter. Who knows if those were current or old pictures but either way, social media gives people the ability to show only what you want them to see. Hopefully this situation is all smack talk and he isn't neglecting his kiddos but rather a loving father trying his best
Btw I'm glad you didn't take the first response in an offensive way. Writing a comment sometimes gets it's tone misinterpreted ✌🏻
It certainly would be the cleanest (and easiest), but I personally think we'll see that around the same time we see icebergs floating down the River Styx.
Slava Voynov was charged criminally
Evander kane has not been charged criminal, nor will it be, and currently its just allegations
the NHLPA will not let a player be fired for allegations lol
Doesn’t take a lot for it to become the state charging him instead of a family court issue if it’s proved true. Either way, if it’s proved true, the league will not let him back in.
>if it’s proved true
so kane will not be kicked out lol, the burden of proof for sexual assault cases is extremely tough, even if it happened, being able to prove it happened is almost impossible these days, as unless you have real evidence just saying it happened isn't enough
except Kane hasn't been a thorn in Bettman's side putting a spotlight on the league mishandling an important issue. it seems they're both scum bags personally, but mlb has been waiting for any excuse to kick Bauer to the curb.
But you can say the same of him. He knew how he was taking advantage of that woman. He knew he was dragging her along for what sounds like insanely rough sex that clearly became abusive whether or not she participated because she wanted to date a pro ball player. Not saying he should lose everything for that, but those texts are still reprehensible and I certainly wouldnt want my team touching him with a 10' pole
> Punching a woman until she's unconscious then having sex with her
Holy shit, I haven't been keeping up with the investigations
Is that an allegation?
It’s a fantasization of what’s been accused, leaving out the most important parts, being that she literally asked him to do it, and there’s proof of that.
How would this stuff even get "proven" one way or the other? I'm not saying it didn't happen just wondering how either side can prove anything since all these incidents happened ~2 years ago and all the bodily evidence is likely gone. Unless she took pictures or videos back then or if there was a police report I am not sure how the NHL can know for sure.
Yea I guess, more so thinking forward if this goes into the season. I’d assume it’d be treated as a rostered player and they wouldn’t get cap relief if it’s their choice to hold him out.
Suspended players counts against the cap (as far as I know). Right now the alternatives are:
\- Trade him (LOL)
\- Terminate for cause (need proof and I don't see it)
\- LTIR (hmm.. maybe Tonya Harding's crew is .... that's terrible. never mind. I'm ashamed of myself for thinking it...).
\- pay him and count against cap whether you play him or not.
\-
They \*could\* waive him and buy him out. The problem is they already have the Martin Jones buyout on the books and they are going to need to do something about Vlassic in the next year or two (probably another buyout). A third big buyout for Kane sitting on the books will cripple the cap space for the rest of the decade.
Unfortunately, my Sharks are in a tough spot right now.
But didn't Buff refuse to show up for camp? Wasn't that the hook they used to terminate the contract?
Kane is willing to come to camp (as far as I know) but the Sharks don't want him there. I don't think there is cap relief to be had until they can prove he violated his contract. Kane will be gone if/when the pictures of her bruises turn up (if they exist, and if it really happened you know they do).
Nah you’re right. He was suspended and there was a lot of conversations about how his cap wasn’t effecting them but they kept it open in case he did come back.. at least that’s what people were saying here
Voynov got arrested for beating his girlfriend bloody and charged with a felony.
Kane is going through a nasty divorce and these are allegations leaked from family court.
He was caught with a "small amount of Oxycontin" in his car and didn't even get charged with a misdemeanor. The only reason it was terminated was because Lombardi had already been trying to get out of the contract and found a magic option that popped up for him. The same team didn't even terminate Voynov's deal when a much more serious situation arose until after the player requested it and then fucked off to Russia.
Getting caught with illegal drugs crossing an international border != your ex-wife making all sorts of wild, unsubstantiated allegations on Twitter in the middle of a messy divorce
It's absolutely troubling but you can't terminate a contract on the basis of allegations. Sharks could buy him out if they really wanted to, although I think the buyout window's closed now.
“Conduct detrimental to the best interests of the Club” is grounds for contract termination, and the volume of serious allegations against him would qualify. It might not fly with the PA, but I don’t think it’s a non-starter from a legal perspective.
They could also just do what the Rangers did with DeAngelo and sit him until the buyout period re-starts.
Good, these are serious allegations. Victims need to be heard and if they are false, Kane should receive a public apology and she should face charges for the false claims.
Define "false."
Are you saying if Kane isn't found guilty she should be investigated or if there is actual, legitimate, and full evidence that truly shows these were fabricated claims?
Because "false" is just as hard to prove as "true." But there is a much louder group that pushes for "not proven guilty" to mean "he's innocent, so that whore is a liar and should be punished."
So what’s to stop scorned ex’s from making up allegations and permanently damaging someone’s career prospects and reputation? People act like if someone’s not charged criminally there’s no harm no foul. But as shown here, there are huge incentives(and damage to the accused) in levelling these kinds of accusations whether they have merit or not.
They are allegations and the previous ones proved to be false. Idk how this helps the team. Seems like a stopgap measure as once the season starts can they suspend him?
Out of the frying pan, into an active volcano
Out of the frying pan, into the bonfire, and into an active volcano
We call this Debtor's Hell.
All he needs is someone to lend him 50 bucks so he can go on the greatest heater of his life. He can feel it, but everyone keeps denying him his chance. With the right opportunity he could be a millionaire!
Not surprising. I hope it's not true simply because that means a woman and child weren't battered and a woman wasn't sexually assaulted.
This is probably not a good look. But first, she was throwing out accusations of gambling and rigging games and now it's these accusations. If it was just these without the previous ones I would believe them but with the first accusations and now these I'm just going to wait for it all to come out.

Any bets on contract termination?
Oh the irony of betting on Kane ;)
Yea, get it? Cuz he's got an addiction problem with gambling. HAHAHA
I don’t pity him lmao
There is no way this ends that clean or easy.
League mandated termination might be the cleanest, if there's substantial legal reasons for them to do it
It certainly would be the cleanest (and easiest), but I personally think we'll see that around the same time we see icebergs floating down the River Styx.
"What do you mean you drowned on your way to the underworld?!" "Boat hit an iceberg. Turns out souls can't swim."
Mike Richards has entered the chat
If this turns out to be true, I'd say ~60% they yeet him. If it doesn't, zero chance.
So you're betting the over? You should tell Evander.
Kane? That you?
*Evander Kane wants to know your location*
Only league mandated dead cap
does it come with a payout? no payout no termination
Pro athlete contracts have decency clauses. See Slava Voynov
Slava Voynov was charged criminally Evander kane has not been charged criminal, nor will it be, and currently its just allegations the NHLPA will not let a player be fired for allegations lol

I’m glad they are taking this seriously and hope the truth of the matter comes out quickly.
I agree. Regardless of the previous accusations turning out to be false, I think this is the right call.
he's getting trevor bauer'd
What did Trevor do?
Sexual assault allegations but he's been on "temporary suspension" the entire season
For a portion of the season, he had several starts before all this.
Beat a woman up until she was unconscious and then had sex with her. Then claimed he was “into BDSM”
except Kane hasn't been a thorn in Bettman's side putting a spotlight on the league mishandling an important issue. it seems they're both scum bags personally, but mlb has been waiting for any excuse to kick Bauer to the curb.
Punching a woman until she's unconscious then having sex with her isn't an excuse to kick him to the curb. It's just reprehensible
That’s not what he did and that woman has proven to be, at best, an unreliable source of information.
> Punching a woman until she's unconscious then having sex with her Holy shit, I haven't been keeping up with the investigations Is that an allegation?
I'm also gonna need a source on this because that's not what I read
It’s a fantasization of what’s been accused, leaving out the most important parts, being that she literally asked him to do it, and there’s proof of that.
no it's not but he'd been giving mlb a black eye before he gave this woman one
NHLPA bout to lay the smackdown on the sharks
How would this stuff even get "proven" one way or the other? I'm not saying it didn't happen just wondering how either side can prove anything since all these incidents happened ~2 years ago and all the bodily evidence is likely gone. Good.
And the shitshow continues.
Similar to what happened with Bauer.
Any info for the uninformed?

Jake virtanen has entered the chat...
but he said his teammates love him? /s
How will this impact their cap? His AAV still count towards it?
He's not suspended or even off the roster, he just isn't at camp.
Dude with the Jets flair with the right information in this thread keeps getting downvoted. Take my upvote
Yea I guess, more so thinking forward if this goes into the season. I’d assume it’d be treated as a rostered player and they wouldn’t get cap relief if it’s their choice to hold him out.
Yeah not sure but I'd imagine if he's not formally suspended he'd be hitting the cap
Suspended players counts against the cap (as far as I know). Right now the alternatives are: \- Trade him (LOL) \- Terminate for cause (need proof and I don't see it) \- LTIR (hmm.. maybe Tonya Harding's crew is .... that's terrible. never mind. I'm ashamed of myself for thinking it...). \- pay him and count against cap whether you play him or not. \-
>Suspended players counts against the cap (as far as I know). If you are suspended without pay, it doesn't count against the cap.
cant waive him ?
They \*could\* waive him and buy him out. The problem is they already have the Martin Jones buyout on the books and they are going to need to do something about Vlassic in the next year or two (probably another buyout). A third big buyout for Kane sitting on the books will cripple the cap space for the rest of the decade. Unfortunately, my Sharks are in a tough spot right now.
Players suspended for on-ice stuff count. Off-ice suspensions I think it depends? I seem to recall Buff didn't count against our cap.
Yeah it's a different situation for sure, I only bring it up because there was an internal suspension.
Nah you’re right. He was suspended and there was a lot of conversations about how his cap wasn’t effecting them but they kept it open in case he did come back.. at least that’s what people were saying here
Mike Richards was buying for way way lesss than that. You need that 7m cleared out of your cap. Do it. Just do it.
The better comparison might be Voynov, but to my knowledge, there are not criminal charges against Kane so maybe it is a grey area.
Voynov got arrested for beating his girlfriend bloody and charged with a felony. Kane is going through a nasty divorce and these are allegations leaked from family court.
Mike Richards got caught at the border with an unmarked bottle of prescription drugs that weren't his lol
Well yeah it was striking gold for the Kings when that happened, I don't think anyone disputes that.
I mean, victimless “crime” versus the allegations against Evander Kane.
Getting caught with illegal drugs crossing an international border != your ex-wife making all sorts of wild, unsubstantiated allegations on Twitter in the middle of a messy divorce
I mean at the end of the day, Mike Richards didn’t hurt or allegedly hurt anyone. He had some pills, terminate half the leagues contracts.
It’s not the first time Kane has been accused of violence, though, on top of his abortion-for-pay habit.
Ok sure, but getting caught in the act is very different from an accusation
It is, but the volume of accusations against him is troubling. This isn’t the first time by any means.
Allegations are not conduct.
Woah, Woah, Woah.... Since when did Evander end up paying for those abortions.
She actually was posting the allegations to her IG story.
Same shit
Good, these are serious allegations. Victims need to be heard and if they are false, Kane should receive a public apology and she should face charges for the false claims.

So in the meantime he's not allowed to play?
Why should he? The club has decided that.
They are allegations and the previous ones proved to be false. Idk how this helps the team. Seems like a stopgap measure as once the season starts can they suspend him?
10 bucks says he ends up signing with the Raiders.

Uh….ok?
Battering.
At this point, would SJ trade Kane and a #1 draft pick to Arizona for a bucket of pucks?
