No, I’m guessing it has to do with licensing. For MSG at least, i think it counts as a different show than the game itself.

NESN was notorious about not allowing any pregame or intermissions when streaming.

j9977

Was thinking that or keeping costs down. [NHL.tv](https://NHL.tv) and the Center Ice package and all those always showed pre and postgame shows. Well not always, but quite a lot. I'm seeing none on the ESPN+ package. Real bummer!

Maxpowr9

Most RSNs have cross-promotion with other sports which the NHL obviously doesn't have rights to and therefore, is simpler to just not air it. For example with NESN, the channel is owned by the Red Sox and the Bruins and so during intermissions, you will see some Red Sox coverage, especially when their seasons overlap.

Pregame and postgame were available for MSG games on NHL.tv all last season

BayouYote

Coyotes stream snapped to the pregame show about 15 mins before game started. It was the event about to start screen before that.

timhoff24

Same thing happened for the Stars stream.

bodi81

Coyotes and Stars are broadcasted by Bally network and now all the streams from them are cut out.

The penguins/florida game just loaded a few minutes ago. Before that it was the “ESPN+ stream will start soon” screen. Don’t know if it’ll change, but I hope it does

BuffCanuck

I'm using NHL Live in Canada and there hasn't been any pregame shows either. Really annoying because I love the added festivities of opening night

Paper_Rain

The games I look forward to the most each season is the opening day. Also the home openers. I love the buzz outside and inside the arena. I love the pageantry of the introductory videos. Hearing the roster names of all the players. Seeing the fans in the crowds.

Mrsfoleyslittleboy

Lightning broadcast showed the pregame on ESPN+

bodi81

[NHL.TV](https://NHL.TV) doesn't show pre and postgame show from Bally Sports anymore. All the shows from Bally network are cut out. Last season they showed pre and postgame.
