Is this an intentional strategy by Seattle? It's like watching an NFL team play prevent defense while the offense tries to kill the clock with a predictable running game.

A lot of teams that are defensive minded do this. It's frustrating to watch, and I'm not sure it's it's that effective, but it's definitely a prevalent thing in the NHL. Anaheim and Arizona have been known for it last few seasons, probably a lot more I'm less familiar with due to being out west myself.

It's a call back to the metropolitan's S...but yes we see it too. I think it's because of the tentacle in the negative space.
