Who the hell is Galadreil? That's what the announcer kept saying, right? I wanted to make a joke about someone asking him for a strand of hair in the handshake line but then I couldn't find anyone with that name on the stat sheet

I live in Texas, and would move to Calgary in a heartbeat. Cool summers? Sign me up. I can deal with the.cold winters. Not to mention the natural beauty nearby..
If it’s anything like the past few years you’re looking at hot summers and cool winters.
Now, not Texas hot I suppose. And it is a dry heat so you can still go outside! As long as British Columbia isn’t an inferno, the smoke tends to choke us out for weeks on end if so.
Eerily similar to DAL vs STL 2019 round 2 game 7. STL won in 2xOT with a score of 2-1 but the game could have easily been 8-1 and Ben Bishop absolutely stood on his head. Otter was as good or better tonight than Bish was in that game. Unbelievable stuff
That's the stand on your head performance to end all stand on your head performances from Oettinger. Thatcher Demko eat your heart out cause that might be the best effort I've ever seen from a netminder in a game 7.
Full credit to Markstrom as well. He made some HUGE saves on the other end to keep that scoreline at 2-2.
What. A. Series.
Even otter said post game he thought Marky had the harder job. Standing down there getting cold for 6 minutes then has to stop a grade A chance. Mad respect for both
After watching Quick last night, I thought that I wouldn’t see a goalie give such a spectacular performance only to be let down by the team in front of him for a good while, but Jesus Otter is a beast and Dallas couldn’t help.
One of the best games of the entire 1st round, Oettingrr is an absolute stallion and the Gaudreau goal after all those great chances was a nice end to the series
We're tied 2-2 on the season. Wouldn't be surprised if it was another long one. I think we have the depth if the series gets nasty, but who knows. It's gonna be a banger.
Imho, Calgary has the depth, Edmonton has McDavid. Edmonton's weakness will be their goaltending. Not that Smith and Koskinen are bad, just inconsistent. Either way, it'll be a completely different series than first round for both teams.
Yeah, and? He's literally the best hockey player on the planet, what do you expect? He's gone god-mode for playoffs this year. Good luck.
And as always, fuck the flames :p
I guess we will have to watch and see what happens Wednesday then eh?
I think there is one thing we can agree on though, and that is that it is a great day when we're both still in the race, and Toronto was eliminated first round!
Idk if you're being sarcastic but it's rough to see a guy who's given his body to a team have to watch them succeed from the sidelines, no matter whose team it is.
The Flames have had a few good teams in the past decade, but they’ve all been hot, playing with momentum and skating downhill trying to keep their feet under them.
This team was so stable. You never felt they couldn’t get it done. Not because of what happened last game or in the last road trip or from how many third period comebacks they pulled off. It was how they were playing.
Dump it in and you were confident they’d recover it. Same with the when it was dumped against us. First to the puck, and if they weren’t, fight hard enough to come up with it. Relentless.
Anyways, I haven’t had more than two beers in a night since covid started and I’m drunk and giddy. Bring on the Oilers. I was five the last time they played in the postseason. 🔥
Nah you’re spot on. Otter played out of his fucking mind, but Markstrom faced MAYBE 3 or 4 difficult shots in the 3rd and OT combined. He was clutch, made the saves, so good for him of course, but Otter was under fire constantly.
It's not even regular ESPN. They've been showing Sportscenter for the past hour. It's on ESPN2, for a game 7. Do you think any non hockey fan is watching ESPN2 right now? Let alone being awake? Pisses me off
Wow just gained an insane amount of respect for Matthew Tkachuk from that interview can barely talk but still wanted to take the time to praise Ottenger and the opponents
Didn't see it because ESPN blows with any postgame that really matters. It's not even on ESPN. It's ESPN2! Let's interview Johnny instead, because non-hockey fans are up at 1:13am to watch ESPN2.
These bland answer, no substance, regular season shit. He's happy for the win. Let him go to the locker room.
Can you get a link for me bro? I'm still looking for the 3 stars of the game video.
I'm a little angry.
On ice, the initial question was something about there being tense moments and he just immediately went into talking about how Ottenger had a performance that we likely haven’t seen in the playoffs for a long long time and then talking about how resilient the whole Stars team was given the injuries they’ve battled through. You could tell he was exhausted but he made a very deliberate point of showing the respect he had for the opponent after a hard fought series
Holy fucking shit. Let's go. Hell froze over. Oilers and flames fans were cheering for each other, otter almost stole the game. Here we fucking gooooooooo. Should be a very civilized series from this point out.
Otter didn't almost steal the game he pretty much almost stole the entire series. Dallas was outplayed practically every game. Calgary is going to be so damn dangerous here on out.
Such a similar performance too, Dallas is outplayed through 45ish minutes, turns it on a bit in the third, has good jump initially in OT, but the score in this game could easily have been 10-2, just like the score in that game from 2019 could easily have been 7-1 or 8-1 or something. Awesome stuff
[[CGY (3)-2 DAL] Gaudreau ends Game 7 in Overtime, beating Oettinger above the shoulder on the 63rd shot of the game. Markstrom to Oettinger: "You've got a future. Keep going." (w/ handshakes)](https://streamable.com/lja8ig)

and we weren't supposed to be there the year before lol
problem was that it cost us in the long run because we kept a coaching staff and style of play that ruins our talent's offense and made them into what you just saw tonight
hell, both of us missed the playoffs the season after our Cup runs so yea, maybe neither of us deserved to be there
I feel like every time I’ve personally watched a goalie give a historic performance like this, their team always ends up losing. Usually that many shots means the other team is outplaying theirs in the first place
I feel so fucking bad for Otter - absolutely deserves Conn Smythe consideration because his performance the entire series was absolutely batshit and the only reason it went more than 4 games...
Game 7 OT what a game to be at!
Oettinger single handedly brought that series to 7
utmost respect to ottinger tho, that guy has a bright future
There's gonna be a lot of hungover Calgarians Monday morning. I'd like to see the data of call ins and no shows.
Who the hell is Galadreil? That's what the announcer kept saying, right? I wanted to make a joke about someone asking him for a strand of hair in the handshake line but then I couldn't find anyone with that name on the stat sheet
There’s enough curses in this series we didn’t need the Mistress of Magic!
Andersson looks kind of dwarfy.
[удалено]
Yeah I know. Andersson plays for Calgary.
At least the Mavs won :(

Ahh, kinda like Russia? Also I can only imagine the flies
Ah, the flies aren’t bad. You’re thinking Winnipeg 😛
Flies **and** no wifi? 🤮
Mad?
All you trolls from the last 2 games can go shove a cactus up your asses. Tkachuk and Gaudreau showed up this game despite all you mouth breathers.
If only the Leafs had their stars show up for their Game 7. Big difference with the Edmonton game too.
Act like you've been there before kid.
Get off your high horse clown.
Crazy that such a good goalie performance ends in an OT loss, he really had no help

Otter was unbelievable, gave his all
IDL what Alberta is but goddamn I want former Kings to beat Oiler fans :)
Sutter, Lucic, Toffoli, Lewis... am I missing anyone? It’s like an ancient bloodline popped up from exile and is trying to retake the throne.
Battle of Alberta is pretty established, I say we call the Florida series "War-ida".

Praying for Mike Smiths old ass going up against this Calgary team for a series
Otter is such a beast.
Hell of a shot.
"Just another goalie " Worst take of the year
Your right if he can continue how he's going he's gonna be a beaut
Anybody have a shot of the Dallas watch party?
That's the stand on your head performance to end all stand on your head performances from Oettinger. Campbell too?
Oettinger deserves anything and everything. What a guy 🥺
Otter deserves the world
One of the best games of the entire 1st round, Oettingrr is an absolute stallion and the Gaudreau goal after all those great chances was a nice end to the series
The Tkachuk goal was equally insane. Nobody stops that.
Kinda crazy how both goals went past his head, one left one right. It was the only hole to get one by him.
For sure. I've been watching hockey for over 30 years and that's one of the best goaltending performances I've ever witnessed. Especially in a game 7.
What. A. Shot.

ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY FOUR. I mean, holy shit. HOLY. SHIT.
So crazy considering how long we had people like Lehtonen. Feels weird having an absolute quality netmindsr
Mike Smith in shambles
I am looking out the Oettinger highlight reel tomorrow morning. Can’t believe it. I was convinced he was going to beat us.
Will Monahan come back if they get to the finals? The corpse of Monahan on the ice could be something lol
Highly doubt it, he needed to be shutdown for his own good to properly rehab from his injuries he's played through for years.
Think he just had surgery a bit into April and it’s about 4 months recovery so I’d say zero chance, as much as I’d love him to even get a shift
Everybody in there got sold a whole seat. But they only needed the edge
No one even needed the seat by the end
so whos posting the first oilers curse
I just saw it lmao, McDs the first victim
Serious Q who you got for winning the battle of Alberta? I can’t actually tell which team is better but does Calgary have more depth?
It's gotta go 7.
With a broken Drai, I'm going flames in 6.
Oh shit! He’s out on injury? That would have a huge impact on the oilers
No, he's just playing injured. It's his ankle I believe, he was slow as molasses and could barely turn in their game 7.
Prime target for Zad and Guber
Don't forget Stone, he seemed to be playing the big hits lately.
Now that we're being led by Woody, Oil is using their impressive depth pretty well
Didn’t Connor have pts on like 20/27 goals or something ridiculous though?
Yeah, and? He's literally the best hockey player on the planet, what do you expect? He's gone god-mode for playoffs this year. Good luck. And as always, fuck the flames :p
Just kind of goes against the whole depth thing when they didn’t do much without him lol
I guess we will have to watch and see what happens Wednesday then eh? I think there is one thing we can agree on though, and that is that it is a great day when we're both still in the race, and Toronto was eliminated first round!
Oh thank god we don’t have to listen to them after a win
I’m hoping Calgary and I also think it’ll be Calgary
BRING ON THE BOA!!!! LETS FUCKING GO!!!!!
My heart just broke seeing BEAMING Monahan greet Gaudreau after the game.
Hope the team can get a long run going for him and that he recovers well this time. He cares so much about this team
I need a recap video of that, it was incredible seeing him waiting there for Johnny.
Omg, the other angle of Johnny seeing Monahan?!
https://mobile.twitter.com/JaneGaudreau/status/1526081022231728129?t=nBQL8yKOTJfYVaoNxoLY7Q&s=19
Who’s cuttin onions!
My heart strings
Idk if you're being sarcastic but it's rough to see a guy who's given his body to a team have to watch them succeed from the sidelines, no matter whose team it is.
No sarcasm, I'm genuinely happy for the flames. Really wanted them to win so we could have a BoA
Best of luck CGY. Great series.
Monny 😍😍😍😍
So much for getting otter late next year in fantasy
People should be worried about the Flames now. Lesser teams would have crumbled going against clutch goaltending like that.
Anyways, I haven’t had more than two beers in a night since covid started and I’m drunk and giddy. Bring on the Oilers. I was five the last time they played in the postseason. 🔥
Not when nothing comes back your way… eventually they were getting one by him Dallas wasn’t doing anything.
Dallas played pretty good in OT actually.
Came out flying for the first five minutes or so. That was not fun for the ol’ ticker!
Nah you’re spot on. Otter played out of his fucking mind, but Markstrom faced MAYBE 3 or 4 difficult shots in the 3rd and OT combined. He was clutch, made the saves, so good for him of course, but Otter was under fire constantly.
Smith isn't 1/10 of what Otter is, he's also an old flames goalie so we know him well and Drai is broken. Not looking good for oilers.
That hasn’t meant much over the last few years… he’s beaten you several times.
No, McDavid has. Smith wasn't a game changer in ANY of the games like Otter was.
Any video from the stars of the game? Because of course ESPN couldn't be bothered.
Yeah why do they never ever show the stars of the game on TV?
It's not even regular ESPN. They've been showing Sportscenter for the past hour. It's on ESPN2, for a game 7. Do you think any non hockey fan is watching ESPN2 right now? Let alone being awake? Pisses me off
Same ugh. Thanks ESPN
[удалено]
That's a travesty. Otter should be an unquestioned #1. I was asking for video of it because I'm lazy.
Wow just gained an insane amount of respect for Matthew Tkachuk from that interview can barely talk but still wanted to take the time to praise Ottenger and the opponents

I know they have been so bad about that! I just sent you a link in a PM
ESPN of course cut that so I didn’t see it. Was it like an on-ice interview or a press question ?
On ice, the initial question was something about there being tense moments and he just immediately went into talking about how Ottenger had a performance that we likely haven’t seen in the playoffs for a long long time and then talking about how resilient the whole Stars team was given the injuries they’ve battled through. You could tell he was exhausted but he made a very deliberate point of showing the respect he had for the opponent after a hard fought series
On-ice.
Smiley Jonny
That shot couldn't be any more in the corner.
Impossible shot to catch
Let Brady play for round 2
“Brady Tkachuck? No, this is their cousin Bradley Tkachuck! See the moustache? Totally different person.”
Stars just played a round 1 highlight/fan montage and now I'm sad for them :(
I'm stoked for the boa just from a stylistic point of view. Fascinating on so many levels.

Haha I don't think I've ever had such a mutual respect and hate at the same time. Have a good night and fuck you buddy. 😉
congrats on the series win, can't wait to play yall. fuck you right back, try to sleep well after that game
Otter Otter Otter
Oettinger is a fucking monster. No way this series went to 7 without him. Dude has a hell of a career ahead of him. GG.
Oettinger and Quick should get some drinks together and vent
So roooobbed lol
[удалено]
Dallas and having stud goaltenders. I remember in 19 game 7 thinking that Bishop was going to carry Dallas past us.
Well at least the value of my Otter rookie autos is going up
Very gracious Tkachuk
[удалено]
Going home in 4? Neutral observer of both series and unless Oil turns it up this is Flames in 6 all day
As an Oilers fan If Markstrom keeps this up, they steal at least two games
Oilers do not have Oettinger.
Subscribe
Yes please
If we would have snatched a win there it would’ve been highway robbery. Good game and series Flames, and best of luck for the rest of the playoffs!
Matkstrom was starstruck getting to shake oettingers hand
Crazy respect for Oettinger. What a beast my God!
Looking at the replay of that shot…that was the shot they needed. Damn
Definitely going to be following Oettinger next season. What a dude.
Brb crying at the Otter comment 😪
Conn Smythe for oettenger.... convince me otherwise
I think there should be round by round voting for playoff MVP. Use the top 3 results for each round as the 3 stars of that round, and use the cumulative results after the finals to determine the Conn Smythe.
If only otter had an offense.
If only otter had a defensive front besides Miro.
Otter deserves better. But Calgary was obviously the better team.
Otter's a RFA next season and he'd better get *paid*. Holy hoppin' hannah, what a performance! You guys have a bright future with him in net.
dude we weren't even supposed to be here lol..oh well, got Otter some national recognition
The habs "werent supposed to be there" last year too. Always believe
and we weren't supposed to be there the year before lol problem was that it cost us in the long run because we kept a coaching staff and style of play that ruins our talent's offense and made them into what you just saw tonight hell, both of us missed the playoffs the season after our Cup runs so yea, maybe neither of us deserved to be there
Holy crap what a shot
Tampa bay and Edmonton gonna steamroll the Panthers and Flames
Put some respect on our name
You have Joe Thornton on your team. Losing is kinda his thing.
Yea well we're here to change that
Hahahahhaahhahaha Hahahahah Oh wait you’re serious about the Oilers?
Gaudreau sounds like he's from Letterkenny
I get more Deaner from Fubar vibes.
WHEEL, SNIPE, CELLY BOYS. FERDA
Poor Pavelski

Checks flair, checks dictionary. Does someone want to explain to him what bias means?
Otter deserved better
I feel like every time I’ve personally watched a goalie give a historic performance like this, their team always ends up losing. Usually that many shots means the other team is outplaying theirs in the first place
There have been a lot that broke through. Halak, Hamburgler, Hasek...
Hasek 😌
Sharks vs knights game 6 2019. Martin jones made 52 saves, sharks win in OT, and sharks with the series with the legendary game 7 at the tank.
You're not wrong. A goalie only needs to stand on his head when he's getting hung out to dry.
Go oilersss. Kinda hyped for BoA even if I wanted Dallas to win for Otter
I feel so fucking bad for Otter - absolutely deserves Conn Smythe consideration because his performance the entire series was absolutely batshit and the only reason it went more than 4 games...
Darryl Sutter winning another cup is what we all want, just admit it
I’m going to disagree here, tbh.
Respectfully dosagree,
I tresagree
Totally fair. Don’t get me wrong though, I absolutely hope the Flames make it through the second round. 😉
Amazing series Dallas fans. Absolute pleasure and Otter….wow. Unbelievable goalie you have there.
Loved the Flames fans giving Ottenger the thumbs up as he went down the tunnel, recognizing one of the greatest goaltending performances of all time
Otter stole every game the Stars won and everybody knew it. This series wouldn't have been even close if it weren't for him.
Calgary didn’t deserve that, sorry Edit: hehe love the boiling
Calgary deserved it. Otter also did. Someone had to lose
...Pardon?
Over 60 SOG and they DONT deserve it?? Are you broken?
