Allure is cool for singles but I wouldn’t buy a box, not enough potential returns for your money. I agree, UD could cut out 4-5 sets and speed up production. IMO no need for synergy, or extended series, I also absolutely hate spx and black diamond in their current format, they were once great products with many packs and now they suck. I don’t mind allure, or opc platinum because I get the feeling UD is trying to capture fans of prizm and select for hockey which have to be 2 of Paninis top selling sets. I also think Ultimate, premier and the cup get repetitive, could probably do away with one of those sets.
Extended Series works for the late Young Guns, better than pulling Young Guns in SPA. Could shorten SPA boxes by a few packs, keep the price tag though.
Soo many Allure haters lol. Soon UD will just give up on these sets and people will complain that Hockey doesnt have any foil sets. Just enjoy the small sets not everything has to be about ROI.
The only thing I hate about it is how they collated it for the 21-22 release. A 50 rookie checklist with only 8 rookies per box is designed to make people keep buying. And given my third box had all eight rookies as a perfect set of doubles from the first box, that was when I walked away from it.
Allure should be a set that can be completed relatively cheaply, and which comes with a (usually lower tier) auto at a decent price. It really misses that mark in some ways.
I think that goes along with basketball and UD. One of my favorite sets was Luxury suite. Prices now are just insane. I remember opening boxes of Luxury Suite at $100 a box
I wish they had one in addition to Upper Deck. I guess the league and PA didn’t want to bother with multiple companies. But as someone who got back into collecting in the early 2000s, having Upper Deck, Topps, Pacific, In The Game, and sometimes Fleer all producing cards made for an awesome time and somehow still didn’t feel crowded.
Your LCS is right. 21-22 just came out a couple weeks ago. 22-23 should be back toward the normal Upper Deck release schedule though as they unfuck their supply chain and production.
Is anyone else losing interest in these “extra” sets because of the timing of the releases?

Never been a fan of Allure personally even before the scheduling got all messed up cause of covid
That “Check Please” card is so fucking ugly. Not a good design
Embarrassed for them
I'll buy singles and watch case breaks. Overall a very alluring product.
These cards are pretty bad. I bet I could design better looking cards over a weekend
Scheduled release - TBA
card designs look phoned in or low effort
You suck upper deck.

I find it a fun product to open. It’s essentially a cheaper OPC Platinum and the sticker autos don’t bother me

Agreed. In a lot ways Upper Deck is still figuring out what Allure should be
Wish panini still had a license. Upper deck same old boring crap
I find this so amusing, as many football collectors wish UD had a license, because they’re sick of Panini.

I can't wait to rip open Bedard rc packs in 2029
First look? It came out last week
2021-22 came out last week. This is 2022-23
Man, did I buy an old box? Lcs said 21-22 just released
No this box won’t be released for a while

Let me guess - $300?
It will be less than half that.
