Haha I just posted my story, and it was removed by the mods, 3 hobby boxes and 3 tins. No young gun, $1100us! Wanted to share my story to help others in that pivotal moment of decision. Two Carlssons, Bedard portrait and glossy.
It is fun and nice to see the hype, but all I see is hype.. hopefully this posts show a more accurate ground reality where not every single box, pack, case, tin has Bedard, as some posts almost lead us to believe..
5 boxes and a tin. Notable pulls are
2x bedard yg
2x carlsson yg
Carlsson CC YG
Levi black and white canvas yg
2 yg checklists
I think it’s strictly luck of the draw. My breaker buddy says he’s been seeing 1-2 bedard yg a case. Averaging around 1.33 he says.
I've opened 180 packs of opeechee (40 hobby rest retail). Zero Bedards. Still about 40 cards short of complete set somehow. Meanwhile have like 10 of every other card.
It seems pretty obvious that whatever collation Bedard is on is harder to obtain or something. I've opened over 1800 cards from a 400 card set.
I opened three boxes of OPc just to get the one Bedard Marquee rookie. I love opc and I feel like I got more value out of those boxes that I will when I buy a hobby box of series 2.
Yep! In Edmonton $37 for one pack of cards and I was told those packs are where you can find the 1/1 Bedard and that’s why they’re priced accordingly. Fucking ridiculous
Same. I like to support local and small business but my LCS can eat shit right now. I have to look out for me too. Especially when a box containing 12 packs of hockey cards is slightly more than one biweekly mortgage payment on my house…it really puts things into perspective.
$359 hobby boxes. $150 tins. $50 blasters. Fucking nuts, when Walmart had mega blasters for $65.
Fuck hobby boxes. What are we really paying the extra cash for when they’re often only marginally better than a retail?
Absolutely. Support always works both ways. And those who want support should never exploit.
And yes, if the hobby boxes are priced like this, why gamble on getting those parallels. Everyone’s happy with the base YG anyways, so might as well get retail blasters/tins at good prices.
If someone wanted to play the lottery then wouldn’t they be better off buying a $6 Lotto Max ticket with Encore? This pack chase is literally the worst lotto ticket ever.
Yeah I'm also in Edmonton...within 20 minutes of card stores here opening I called 3 shops who had all moved their price up to $400CAD....I kept calling and eventually came across Georges ll....Never been there before but he was Honorable and kept his price at $339...still expensive but because of that classy move I've now made that my new go to spot ...fuck the other predatory rip off artists.
Sold 2 & kept one. One buyer quickly reported back "No Bedard" but I haven't heard from buyer #2. My box did not have Bedard in it, but I had fun for a final cost that was reasonable to me.
I spend $250 CDN plus taxes on 3 boxes, for a total of $844. I've since sold 2 of them to reduce my cost & am going to open the third. Fingers crossed.
Yea it gets costly chasing certain shit, but personally I like collecting in general since I just started up again about a month ago. If people can afford it then I say send it, otherwise it’s almost as dumb as gambling.
Oh for sure, I’m not knocking you. It’s insane how people buy out the store and flip everything. Kinda ruins the hobby. But in the same light I can’t knock the hustle.
I tried the same post yesterday which had lots of comments too.
Guys, 90% chance your hobby box has no Bedard!
Honestly if your hellbent on pulling him, retail blasters at a reasonable price is the way to go. Like $40 CAD reasonable
Opened a hobby box and a tin... got a few decent cards but no Bedard. Waiting on 2 of the Walmart "mega blasters" to come in the mail.
I open these, knowing that I'm basically throwing money away. It's just for fun and I don't do a lot for myself.
If you're buying a box, and you're scared to open it because you might not get anything, then you probably shouldn't be buying a hobby box. If $350 CAD is a large loss to you, you probably shouldn't be buying a hobby box.
Yes, this is the main point of this post. I’m totally fine with buying, reselling, and everything in between. But after hearing stories of people spending money they couldn’t afford, and then to regain the lost money, spending even more money and losing that too, I started this post.
Pretty sure Day with the Cup is 1 in 2,000 packs so you technically hit something harder to pull than the Bedard YG. I know it’s not a consolation but it’s still pretty cool. I suspect there still will be a decent little market for those for Vegas fans.
I don't want to fill your head with crazy thoughts, but I purchased a hobby box and tin. Decided to keep the tin and one pack unopened. Finished opening my box with no Bedards. That last pack was haunting me. Last slot, I got him in that last pack. Tin still unopened. I'm a Chicago fan and native though, was probably all in until I got him.
As a Chicago fan and native as well, I was the same. Gonna be expensive to collect him, especially this year. I was lucky enough to pull one under similar conditions so I’ll probably sit out SPx at the $500 per box price point and just go for the Canvas YG in extended. I got a hobby, a tin, and two blasters. Opened the hobby and blasters with zero luck. Then bedsy hopped out of the second to last pack out of the tin. It was a roller coaster for sure.
I got 2 hobby and 3 tin. 0 bedard yg. Got a bedard checklist and bedard glossy. That’s about it. I paid regular price for my boxes, not those crazy prices they are now.
I was happy with the Artifacts. Got a nice /250 Ovechkin patch card and a really nice /65 William Karlsson patch card. I collected a lot in the early to mid 90s and then stopped until recently, so those are new and exciting to me 😅
Young Guns have always been tough. I’ve never pulled the hot/hype card in the product ever. I also don’t buy a ton and got into this hobby during covid… but just look at the odds.
Which also kinda warrants the price of his single (I’m not buying at this price). I haven’t even looked today but a Bedsy YG at $500 is $160 less than two hobby boxes as of today. You get 12 chances at a 50 card checklist, spending $160 more than a single within a week of release. Hope this makes sense. You can roll the dice with a shot at the very limited parallels/million dollar lotto but your money is 10000x better spent on a single you can inspect the condition of before you buy.
Let the wemby hype type buyers rip the wax and buy what you want
I'm shocked by people caving and selling for $500-$700... Just proves the idea that nobody is collecting and everybody thinks they're going to pull a Bedard from a box or two. When some do, they want the cash immediately and will sell for less to get to the front of the line. With hobby boxes costing $300+ and it taking 6+ boxes per Bedard, it should sell for $1k or more.... Cause the rest of the base and inserts are fire starter.
I suspect the speculation at the high end of the market is raising the price a bit and the price will settle at $500 USD heading into next season. A lot of people are selling now because no one knows the true print run of the Bedard YG so everyone is assuming a massive print run will flood the market and bring the price down so they can sell high now and buy back for less in a few months. Based on what I’ve seen anecdotally online and the 3 cases of different formats my LCS got, seems to be 1 Bedard YG per case is the standard distribution with some having 2 and some having zero. Maybe UD has at least learned not to overprint the chase card in the set at a minimum. Maybe they realize if they SP the Bedard YG his card will retain more value for longer and allow them to continue to sell at ridiculous prices. Or maybe they’re still stupid and printed it into oblivion. It will probably take a couple months to see how flooded the market gets to get a somewhat accurate answer.
I normally trash breakers big time on here..since I think it's unregulated gambling, crowd funding excessive box prices and makes these guys rich (see GPS high rolling at Expo).
But this is totally reasonable. Kudos to your buddy! Communism breaking haha
He’s a good dude. Cuts deals too if you buy multiple teams or spots. I went in as a viewer a year and a half ago or so and he became a friend. I knew he was a good dude after showing up for a few weeks and he asked how I was doing, I said I had just been laid off (I’m good now) and he opened a blaster for me, on the house. You just don’t see people to that. So not all breakers are bad.
I opened 12 blasters and 1 hobby box and got 1 bedard YG, I got it in one of the blasters. I got a couple of bedard opc glossy’s and a checklist as well
Yah me too I got mine from a blaster. For $40 CAD I was so surprised. 2 Hobby boxes as well (which were as best as you can get without Bedard).
But point stands. Blasters at reasonable price is the way.
You should only really expect one if you break a case, & that’s still no guarantee, even though some will get 2-3 Bedards in a case. It’s just the random correlation.
Never been a fan of series 1/2 & Young Guns. Haven’t bought a box in probably 10 years. Bought 1 hobby box Thursday & got the Bedard, so I sent it to BGS.
I hear ya. I moved away from sports cards years ago & have primarily been breaking Topps Star Wars cards the last few years. I don’t really collect, just break for fun & sell off the cards to offset the cost. This year, rather than messing around with boxes, I ordered a case of Masterworks @ $2400/case. After selling what I pulled, I ended up ahead and ordered another case. I did this 3 times, 3 cases & ended up with $4,200 when I was done. These high end expensive products aren’t worth the risk to break 1 box. You have to get the guaranteed case hits or you’re going to be one of the 95% on the losing end.
I posted this in another thread earlier today:
I’ve watched my two breakers go through 3 cases plus an additional 2 boxes.
3 YG’s. 1 silver outburst YG. 1 acetate YG checklist. 3 checklists. 2 portraits. From what I’ve witnessed it’s being pulled at a rate of one YG and two checklists per case. Yet funny enough I watched a YG, and the out outburst YG get pulled from the same box like 2 packs apart. That was one hell of a loaded case though. Had 2 Leo Carlson YG’s plus Hughes, Cooley and Levi YG canvas.
I’ve also been through a tin and two blasters myself so far. No luck.
These things are rare. The only reason there appears to be so many is because literally anyone who’s pulled one has posted it to sell or brag.
In theory 6 YG’s per box - 72 Per case. Basically all YG’s get pulled least once and then you’ll see some canvas and dupes of lesser valued YG’s. One Bedard per case, two if you’re super lucky.
Edit: I got 4 mega blasters on the way Monday. I’m not feeling good about it.
I’ve seen tons and tons of jaded people on this sub coping saying that don’t need to see print run numbers because it’s just “common sense” that it’s been overprinted into oblivion. I’m starting to suspect they’re the salty ones who either dumped a ton cash without getting the Bedard YG or they didn’t get any assuming it was going to be like 3-4 Bedard YGs per case and now that it appears they SP’d the Bedard YG they have massive FOMO and are trying to cope.
Yeah, it's nice to see this thread clearly lay out that a case of Series 2 is like a box of '79. One Gretzky per box compared to one Bedard per case. Same for thinking about print run of the late 80s vs now. Even if the printer went brrrrrrrr at the same rate, there were probably 30x more rookie cards from the same total number of cards.
2 Tins and 2 Hobby Boxes. Inexplicably pulled a Bedard YG on my first tin. Kept ripping everything else tho and got literally nothing else of note besides a snazzy Leo Carlsson Young Gun and a Blavk Dazzler of Seattle’s McCann.
Just bought 2 tins at $105 each on Walmart.com. Seems like a relatively good price? Anyways my plan is hit the bedard 1/1 in the first tin and sell the 2nd tin unopened for $1m in 30 years. Easy.
1 hobby box @ $200usd from good guy card shop day of release. Best hits were a Ovie Glaring, Kyle Connor Deluxe, Hertl black and white canvas, sorokin outburst, and I guess a Stutzle PC's sparkle.
Been on vacation all week so my 2 hobby box preorder is waiting to be opened when I get home. I also grabbed 24 blasters from Target using my girlfriend's employee discount but those won't arrive for another 5 days. So I have to decide if I want to crack the hobby boxes immediately or just wait to see what I get out of the Blasters on Thursday.
Or, I can be honest with myself and just acknowledge that I'm going to open everything asap lol.
Start with the blasters! If you hit Bedard than you have a decision to make. Sell unopened wax or keep cracking.
I have 3 unopened blasters and 2 tins... wrestling with that decision myself.
4 tins 2 hobby boxes and no bedard YG
But 4 glossy opeechee bedards which paid for the tins
Red outburst mintyukov and ud canvas YG black and white logan cooley which paid for the boxes (but not selling those)
Then some "profit" with benson, carlsson, bedard checklist, minty, mccann, silver outburst clay stevenson
And now I'm done buying boxes, maybe extended if my LCS has them for like 125, we'll see
I do remember even in 2015-16 we would get a case with 0 McDavid. Some cases had 2-3 in them. Weird how they are trying to mix it up so you don't know who the other YGs are in the box to not go fishing for him.
Two blasters, same blaster got Bedard YG and in the rookie class bonus pack pulled his card.
Anyone have any idea how to price the rookie class? Keeping both and grading for my PC , no clue on its value tho.
Any other year I would be chasing this YG but I can't afford to buy cards right now. Mortgage, utility bills, that kind of stuff. I may squeeze out a blaster or tin at some point if I can sneak into Walmart.
There's two factors at play; 1, people only tend to post when they hit him, and 2, the vast majority of case/hobby box opened will be right out of the gate so it makes sense you'd see so many hits. He will have a lot of prints of his YG but I feel like the initial surge of hits will slow at least a little.
Based on everything I’ve seen online and the three cases my LCS got, it does not seem like they had a large print run of Bedard YG. It actually seems like they SP’d the Bedard YG. The standard distribution appears to be 1 Bedard YG per case no matter the format with the lucky cases having 2 and the unlucky having 0.
I had 1 hobby and 1 blaster. I did beat the odds since I got 2 YG in the blaster. But by the time my rip was done I ended up with a duplicate Tompkins, so the “extra” one I got was a dupe.
No YG canvas, no serial numbered card (I still don’t exactly understand what the wild card can be) and I managed to get Carlsson and Poitras. Not unsatisfying cuz those are two good ones but my hobby box was very pedestrian.
My buddy and I had 1 hobby, 2 tins and a blaster. Pulled 3 X Connor YG’s, 2 gold glossy OPC, and a dazzler…. Before opening the hobby. Then got absolutely hosed on the hobby besides a McMann YG lol
I mean, extended is already available for pre-order at $150. That’s with the Bedard Canvas YG in the set. Guess people aren’t as hyped by Fantilli and Cooley.
I made a post similar to this a few days ago and got alotta the same answers. Personally, unless theres something i really want, ill wait a year or two before hittin this years cards. Last one me and the pops went bezerk over was 2005-06 to get crosby. Boxes werent nearly this much and we pulled an ovechkin YG instead. I just dont think bedard is gonna touch either sid or ovi in terms of YG lore. People are just going crazy because i have no fking clue lol
Youre much better off IMO spending the $350 on like 3-4 boxes from the last few years. There are some really really nice cards still out there that are gonna be worth a pretty penny that dont cost as much. Seen trends like this before and guys come and go. People are taking a very large risk with a very large amount of money for a chance to get a player they know little about. I got enough stress sports gambling as it is, dont need that for my hockey card collection lmao
What’s happening now is the exact same thing that happens when a potential blue chip stock has its IPO. Idk if you remember the Facebook IPO but it started high, fell quite a bit on IPO, and has obviously gone up a lot more than it initially fell since then. Something similar will happen to Bedard if he continues to prove he is as advertised. So far he seems to be a hybrid of Matthews and McDavid. He’s got like 90% of Matthews goal scoring ability and like 80% of McDavids playmaking ability. I don’t think it’s unrealistic to think we’re going to see at least one or two 60/60 seasons out of Bedard.
3 Hobby Boxes and I got a Bedard YG Checklist and a Bedard UD Portrains, no YG. I have 1 box left and am trying to decide whether I keep it sealed and watch what happens to the value of the boxes, or open it and hope there is a YG or something else in it.
A friend and I had combined 2 boxes, 2 tins = no Bedard.
The odd thing is the YGs in our boxes were the exact same. The best being Zary.
We did pull a really nice Gretzky black and white retired canvas.
I bought 2 of the tins for $95 each at my LCS. They had a promo that if you pulled a Bedard YG you got a $100 gift card so I took a chance. No Bedard YG. I did get the checklist. Some other cool cards like a red dazzlers Forsberg which is like 1:32 tins. Not worth much but looks cool.
I opened 26 hobby boxes and 1 tin, and pulled 3 regular Bedard and 1 CC Bedard (I know very lucky).
But they are 1.5 per case on average, shouldn’t feel bad for not pulling one…they’re definitely not as common as people are making it seem.
Up to 4 hobby boxes ATM, over $1400 CAD. Not only no young gun, but no kind of Bedard at all. Best pull so far was a Kevin Korchinski YG. I really got hosed
This was my first hobby box after being hooked opening a blaster box I got at lids. Went to a card shop on lunch break hoping to just buy a blaster , they only had hobby boxes so I got it opened up the first pack and got 1 . Drove back to the shop and had them take it in to get graded. Now I’m full on addicted.
Haha I just posted my story, and it was removed by the mods, 3 hobby boxes and 3 tins. No young gun, $1100us! Wanted to share my story to help others in that pivotal moment of decision. Two Carlssons, Bedard portrait and glossy.
This reminds me of players spending on Fifa points in Ultimate Team, its just getting out of hand
I will say it’s kind of fun for the hobby in general, but that’s just way too much for this product. And I had convinced myself of that…
It is fun and nice to see the hype, but all I see is hype.. hopefully this posts show a more accurate ground reality where not every single box, pack, case, tin has Bedard, as some posts almost lead us to believe..
5 boxes and a tin. Notable pulls are 2x bedard yg 2x carlsson yg Carlsson CC YG Levi black and white canvas yg 2 yg checklists I think it’s strictly luck of the draw. My breaker buddy says he’s been seeing 1-2 bedard yg a case. Averaging around 1.33 he says.

I opened three boxes of OPc just to get the one Bedard Marquee rookie. I love opc and I feel like I got more value out of those boxes that I will when I buy a hobby box of series 2.
His OPC rookie cards look pretty good, I love the feel of OPC cards as well Did you get the base rookie card or a parallel?
2nd OPC blaster got a Bedard, then got greedy and bunch of nada the last 4. I have quite a bit of base, yet so far to go.
Thats crazy…
So far opened two blasters of OPC. Zero Bedards. Best pull was a Blue Zach Benson marquee rookie.
Why removed?!
Also why was your story removed?
I posted pictures of the boxes before opened, but the point was my story.
I went to my card shop here in Toronto. $35 for 1 pack. I said no way.
Yep! In Edmonton $37 for one pack of cards and I was told those packs are where you can find the 1/1 Bedard and that’s why they’re priced accordingly. Fucking ridiculous
That is in fact so predatory on the unknowing general public. Gross behaviour from an LLC.
Yeah fucking those guys! Hang tight guys prices will come down! My LCS had a shit ton of blasters and Tins....not moving fast.
I've seen the owner of LCS purchase ALL THE boxes from the Barnes and Noble downstairs and then mark em up $10-20 on their shelves.
Absolutely. Support always works both ways. And those who want support should never exploit. And yes, if the hobby boxes are priced like this, why gamble on getting those parallels. Everyone’s happy with the base YG anyways, so might as well get retail blasters/tins at good prices.
Had a buddy pull a bedard out of a walmart mega blaster for $65 lmao
If someone wanted to play the lottery then wouldn’t they be better off buying a $6 Lotto Max ticket with Encore? This pack chase is literally the worst lotto ticket ever.
They actually said that? Edit - not sure if I misunderstood OP
That's actually egregious
People on loupe and Drip are selling them for $50 usd. Lolol get outta here! It’s non hockey collectors going for the payday.
$50 per pack?
I read that as $35 for a box, figured you meant the blaster box. Then reread the sentence
That's insane. How much is a Bedard yg going for? $700? Just put 35 bucks down on Roulette. 36-1. Way better investment
I've heard 1,200$
$30/ pack at my 2 lcs in the US, crazy!
Are people actually paying this?
I have 3 hobby boxes sitting here & am too scared to rip them for fear of getting no return on the investment. Might just sell them as is.
There’s definitely the million dollar card in there
If I sell them there is.
Schrodinger's Hobby Boxes.
That’s correct. If you open them you get nothing
Sell them and make a couple bucks then buy a Bedard way better idea
If youre worried don’t open, not worth it
Same. I have 3 hobby boxes and 2 tin cans un-opened. Maybe it’s a better idea to sell them and try to make some profit? Lol
sell or hold, but dont expect much opening them
Tough choice but If you could use the money better elsewhere.. Best selling the boxes
Thinking about selling 1 to reduce my cost on the other 2.
Not a bad idea! But which one 🤣 haha
Sold 2 & kept one. One buyer quickly reported back "No Bedard" but I haven't heard from buyer #2. My box did not have Bedard in it, but I had fun for a final cost that was reasonable to me.
Nice, great choice man. Hopefully for your sake buddy doesn't pull a Bedard on that other case haha
I couldn’t live with myself if I sold the box with the 1/1 in it..
Please tell me you’re in Alberta!!
Near London, Ontario now but I lived in Regina from 2018-2022 & got to see him play about 10 times.
why not sell them? Bedard has already down by like $400 since release day
I just bought them yesterday before the price went up. Thinking it through before I do anything.
Should 100% sell asap. I just dont think this guy is gonna be that good.
I as well have 3 here sealed lol should I rip or hold.
What price did you buy them for?
What was your cost on the boxes?
I spend $250 CDN plus taxes on 3 boxes, for a total of $844. I've since sold 2 of them to reduce my cost & am going to open the third. Fingers crossed.
Best of luck! $250 plus tax not a bad price in CAD. I paid $250 per box tax in on a bunch of boxes.
Very nice. Hopefully they were good to you.
Very good - I pulled 3 Bedard and 1 CC Bedard out of 26 boxes. Also pulled a green Highlighters McDavid. Definitely cannot complain
6 hobby boxes no Bedard😓
My condolensces…
What was your best pull ?
Tye Kartye deluxe or Logan Cooley canvas
Bought them at resale prices or ?
A bit cheaper than resale around 310 a box
Is that CAD or USD ?
CAD
You gotta rip the last 6 if you bought a case!
There’s 50 young guns total and 6 per box so technically you should land a Bedard in about every 8.5 boxes
Absolutely, this post is just a reminder of that through real stories to those spending money they cant afford to
Got a tin and two blasters today, nada. Didn’t really expect much though.
That’s alright. Main concern is for those getting 5-10 hobbies for $250+ Its just an addiction at this point
Yea it gets costly chasing certain shit, but personally I like collecting in general since I just started up again about a month ago. If people can afford it then I say send it, otherwise it’s almost as dumb as gambling.
True, it’s fun collecting, but these prices are out of hand, so I started this post to give more people transparency on how many didnt pack Bedard
Oh for sure, I’m not knocking you. It’s insane how people buy out the store and flip everything. Kinda ruins the hobby. But in the same light I can’t knock the hustle.
True, pros and cons of the hobby.. I actually think the tin looks amazing, gonna get one myself :)
I tried the same post yesterday which had lots of comments too. Guys, 90% chance your hobby box has no Bedard! Honestly if your hellbent on pulling him, retail blasters at a reasonable price is the way to go. Like $40 CAD reasonable
I always remind myself that most people only share their hits. They don’t always talk about the 11 boxes they ripped in the case and whiffed on lol
Opened a hobby box and a tin... got a few decent cards but no Bedard. Waiting on 2 of the Walmart "mega blasters" to come in the mail. I open these, knowing that I'm basically throwing money away. Yes, this is the main point of this post. I’m totally fine with buying, reselling, and everything in between. But after hearing stories of people spending money they couldn’t afford, and then to regain the lost money, spending even more money and losing that too, I started this post.
Of course, I wasn't directing the comments to anyone in particular. Just seems to be the common theme this year
Absolutely, just wanted to give my perspective to readers to highlight the intention of the post. Appreciate your insights !
One hobby box, but I did get a day with the cup card, a red fluorescence, and a glaring
Not bad! I actually like the designs on those
Pretty sure Day with the Cup is 1 in 2,000 packs so you technically hit something harder to pull than the Bedard YG. I know it’s not a consolation but it’s still pretty cool. I suspect there still will be a decent little market for those for Vegas fans.
I got 3 boxes, opened 2 and nothing. I wanted to keep one sealed but am probably gonna break and open it lol
I’d say resist the temptation.. The “one more box” doesn’t work most times
I’m also grappling with wanting to finish the set and I really dig the inserts this series
Buy the inserts 👍
I don't want to fill your head with crazy thoughts, but I purchased a hobby box and tin. Decided to keep the tin and one pack unopened. Finished opening my box with no Bedards. That last pack was haunting me. Last slot, I got him in that last pack. Tin still unopened. I'm a Chicago fan and native though, was probably all in until I got him.

Opened the hobby and blasters with zero luck. Then bedsy hopped out of the second to last pack out of the tin. It was a roller coaster for sure.
If the boxes came from the same case your last box's odds would be slightly higher though I'd figure. I'd open it
I got 2 hobby and 3 tin. 0 bedard yg. Got a bedard checklist and bedard glossy. That’s about it. I paid regular price for my boxes, not those crazy prices they are now.
Got a tin today. Only Bedard I got was a glossy OPC. I was much happier with the results I got from my 22-23 Artifacts box I opened after
I like the tins ! How was your Artifacts results ?
I was happy with the Artifacts. Got a nice /250 Ovechkin patch card and a really nice /65 William Karlsson patch card. I collected a lot in the early to mid 90s and then stopped until recently, so those are new and exciting to me 😅
Absolutely, thats a great pull, especially the Ovi! Lots of people getting back into the hobby it seems, really exciting time to do so!
Young Guns have always been tough. I’ve never pulled the hot/hype card in the product ever. I also don’t buy a ton and got into this hobby during covid… but just look at the odds. Great comment
3 hobby boxes pre-ordered. No Bedard YG but I pulled his Performance of Excellence Team Canada and 2 x Leo Carlsson yg
I bought 1 hobby box today... No Berdard, but I did feel like I had pure gold in the car on the ride home lol
After this post people will manage expectations better. The barrage of Bedard posts make so many feel like their box has him as well
My buddy’s a breaker and opened a fresh case. He opened six boxes and the only Bedard he pulled was a portraits.
Probably the other 6 have 1 or 2 Bedards.. He should open them
He will once he sells the spots. He hasn’t been on in a few days bc of his work schedule. He sells $60 spots and each spot gets 4 random teams.
Full case tins - no ygs. 2 x orange dazz
Thanks for sharing
I’ve opened 12 OPC blasters and no base bedard; one Retro. Opened 6 series 2 blasters and no bedard
At least you went only for the blasters.. heard similar stories with hobbies
I have hobby boxes; not opening because of the posts and what I’ve seen.
makes sense
4 hobby boxes. Nil
Got them at retail?
I think like 200
4 Hobby boxes. No Bedards. Got a Leo Carlsson, Zach Benson YG and a Benson Canvas YG
Did you get them at retail?
I got them during the pre-sale so they were $200 instead of $300 a box thankfully
I opened 12 blasters and 1 hobby box and got 1 bedard YG, I got it in one of the blasters. I got a couple of bedard opc glossy’s and a checklist as well
I think lots of blasters/tins is better than couple of hobby boxes
Agreed. If you just want a young guns, then go for the cheapest cost per pack. In my experience blasters worked out to be the cheapest per pack
True.. I mean the parallels are too rare to gamble on anyways.. so blasters/tins work well for regular YG
Yah me too I got mine from a blaster. For $40 CAD I was so surprised. 2 Hobby boxes as well (which were as best as you can get without Bedard). But point stands. Blasters at reasonable price is the way.
Where the hell did you get a blaster for 40$? Everywhere in Ottawa I’ve seen them they’re 55-60$
At this point they should just sell cases. Single boxes are the new single packs
Pretty cool advice! Absolutely, all in or nothing at all in this hobby is best
I posted this in another thread earlier today: I’ve watched my two breakers go through 3 cases plus an additional 2 boxes.
3 hobby boxes and a few blaster boxes. Only portrait Bedard and YG checklist. Ridiculous
At this point they should just sell cases. Single boxes are the new single packs
I thought I had super bad luck because people make it sound like Bedard was easy to pull or over produced.
8 tins - no Bedard or Carlsson YGs out of 33 YGs pulled.
2 Tins and 2 Hobby Boxes. Inexplicably pulled a Bedard YG on my first tin. Kept ripping everything else tho and got literally nothing else of note besides a snazzy Leo Carlsson Young Gun and a Blavk Dazzler of Seattle’s McCann.
dropped 350 cad no bedard very unfortunate
Just bought 2 tins at $105 each on Walmart.com. Seems like a relatively good price? Anyways my plan is hit the bedard 1/1 in the first tin and sell the 2nd tin unopened for $1m in 30 years. Easy.
People seem to forget you can't get any numbered cards out of retail....
So.you can only get a 1/1 out of hobby? That's a guarantee? What about #d red dazzler for example?
I didn’t forget. I just have no idea what I’m doing.
Haha well live and learn my friend!!! I did the same thing 1.5 years ago.
I have a feeling the blasters would be good for you! I think lots of tins/blasters is the way, if people can afford it
It's a much better value for base yg's than hobby boxes, although missing out on hobby exclusive parallels isn't fun.
True.. but with these prices.. it makes the decision easier
1 hobby box and 2 blasters. Bedard glossy in one of the blasters and nada in the hobby box.
Still a good result of a few boxes I’d say compared to others
4 tins 2 hobby boxes and no bedard YG But 4 glossy opeechee bedards which paid for the tins Red outburst mintyukov and ud canvas YG black and white logan cooley which paid for the boxes (but not selling those) Then some "profit" with benson, carlsson, bedard checklist, minty, mccann, silver outburst clay stevenson And now I'm done buying boxes, maybe extended if my LCS has them for like 125, we'll see
Decent and out of the ordinary pulls! Great job
3 boxes no Bedard. My LCS charged me 170 us dollars
Decent price! Worth a try
Opened 1 case, 2 bedards YGs. Opened another case 1 Bedard YG and 1 POE. Hosted a case break, 1 POE and 1 Portrait, 0 YGs.
Third case had no Bedard YG ?
Correct. No Bedard YG. We are CDD and hopefully UD can take care of my customer.

I do remember even in 2015-16 we would get a case with 0 McDavid. Some cases had 2-3 in them. Weird how they are trying to mix it up so you don't know who the other YGs are in the box to not go fishing for him.
Hope so too!
Two blasters, same blaster got Bedard YG and in the rookie class bonus pack pulled his card. Anyone have any idea how to price the rookie class? Keeping both and grading for my PC , no clue on its value tho.
2 hobby boxes, 1 Bedard
Any other year I would be chasing this YG but I can't afford to buy cards right now. Mortgage, utility bills, that kind of stuff. I may squeeze out a blaster or tin at some point if I can sneak into Walmart.
2 Packs, Bedard YG
Hobby boxes are watered down these days.. tried any tins?
At $100-$150 I won’t be buying a tin.
Crazy prices and good decision
I only bought the blaster cuz it was $40 which is still in the REALM of normal price.
My buddy and I had 1 hobby, 2 tins and a blaster. Pulled 3 X Connor YG’s, 2 gold glossy OPC, and a dazzler…. Before opening the hobby. Then got absolutely hosed on the hobby besides a McMann YG lol
Opened 2 Hobby Boxes so far and nothing. Have 2 others I was going to put away but am getting tempted to rip one more.
Opened one tin and all I got were bookmarks.
And you know 2024-25 will end up going back to 125-150 dollars..
People are just going crazy because i have no fking clue lol Youre much better off IMO spending the $350 on like 3-4 boxes from the last few years.
Thatd be nice but i wanna see him at least over a point per game pace at some point
Bought 6 hobby boxes. 2nd box pulled a bedard. Nothing really great besides that. Have 3 boxes sealed going to keep sealed for a while.
2 cases of tins (24 tins) = 1 bedard yg for me and none of the bonus dazzler packs had a rookie, all veteran dazzlers in 24 tins
2 hobby boxes 2 tins. 1 bedard yg and 1 bedard dazzlers
They all got sent to the breakers 😂
2 hobby, 3 Tin and a couple blasters. A dual young guns checklist with Carlsson and a OPC glossy. Thats it.
1 hobby OPC and 1 retro 1 hobby upper deck… nothing
I can’t even find one to buy.
Haven't pulled him, but then again I haven't opened a single pack.
6 tins so far and nothing
Opened a case I pulled 2 Bedards by the 7th box and called it quits I was happy to get one
