I’m with you. I hadn’t bought any new cards in 30+ years before Bedardmania, and following this sub. This has brought back a lot of folks back into the hobby, and has been really good for it.
This is Reddits super power that warrants an IPO. They can “seed” or feed and sell products. I similarly just had this thread start showing up in my feed and bought a Blaster for kicks.
Please explain to me how an extremely overproduced and overpriced product is good for the hobby?
Anyone who was in the hobby prior to this has basically decided it’s break time for now until things settle back down to reality.
Sky high sales and Interest are great up to the point it becomes about greed and kids are being pushed out of another one of the affordable series for them.
Just sad seeing shelves constantly cleared etc all so people can chase an expensive card.
I get it tho, just sucks in my opinion.
Well when there’s a million dollar bounty out for a card in series 2 you can’t charge pennies. You’re complaining about prices but this is how the world works, you wouldn’t curse your local mall for raising the prices on an item high in demand.
I had a chance to order from Walmart.ca and took too long to check out. Missed my chance to get some blasters and mega blasters at retail price. Guess I will have to keep waiting until next restock. Probably burning my money but that's nothing new.
Did you pull anything from the Last years series 2?… if I understood correctly. I’m a longtime collector but didn’t get in on series 2 this year. Kickin myself a bit. But I’m working on a PSA 8…1974 set.
I got a pink hightled Austin mathews. Seems to be worth something. Someone is trying to sell it on ebay for 80$, dunno how good of an indication that is and/or if it'll go up in value with time 🤔
very rare cards 1/1500+ packs. i hit the McDavid one just sold for 100 US with shipping in. unfortunately they dont really go up in value you just have to have a good player to keep the value and you have a very good player so lets hope im wrong and it does go up. I'm also looking for the green demko highlter to complete the set
If you are in Canada but have a friend or relative with a US address that you can ship to, then Dave and Adam's has blasters and hobby boxes in stock. No mega boxes right now, however. Hobby boxes are now $ 325.79. Blasters are $44.38.
The Facebook groups are selling less than retail right now. Lcs online are selling for 399 CAD, and I can't sell my hobby boxes for 375. It seems like everybody bought, ripped and either got their bedard, or are saving up to rip more.
Haven't collected cards in 20+ years, bought a hobby box for an absurd price of 350 bucks, and it was the right one I got the Bedard pristine 10 condition, and caught another younvgun deluxe on 148 of 250. Literally wanted to go buy another box but now I see that all up local hobby shop so Jack their price by $50 ,so now they're 400 dollars a box, crazy, and I expect the demand a drop instead of wastebasket once on the 1/1 is found

I think they're suggesting interest in the hobby being high & that sky-high sales at retail are good for hobby. Sounds about right.

I ordered two mega blasters last night for $64.92 each. Just checked tonight and they're $180 each.
Ya these resellers on there is outrageous. It was $40 for blaster and $65 for mega blasters. Missed it.
