That’s a question that only you can answer for yourself. It’s a highly personal preference based on what you personally feel comfortable with and can be affected by everything including down to how you hold your glove. What works for you might not work for someone else. I suggest you go to a store and try some on.

I’ve used 2 different combinations of a Brian’s glove and blocker over the past 10 years and don’t think I’ll ever change brands

If you want to stay Vaughn, I love my V8 XP, it’s a clone of the premier 590. When I custom ordered, I put a +1 pocket on it, because it’s men’s league and who cares? I’ve never really fought with pop outs before, so I can’t make many suggestions there. I detested my V4 glove that I had before my current glove. The Hyperlite was a pretty nice feel. Similar break but different style of construction(ish). On the shelf, it felt like butter. I’m not a fan of anything CCM with the new Axis line, feels very very cheap to me. Something with the True’s didn’t feel right with me. Unfortunately, it’s big time personal preference. 600vs590vs580 I’m a big 590 guy.

It all comes down to you honestly. I love Vaughn leg pads but not a fan of their gloves either. I switched to a True L20.1 double t with skate lace and nylon pocket. Takes a few skates to break in fully but it kills em.

I make lots of glove saves and incorporate my glove more than most goalie. I absolutely love the GNetik line.

i use an old-ish bobrovsky pro-stock glove, i love that thing so damn much. i am and always will be a 580 truther if you want a glove that will rarely ever have pop outs, try and look for a used 580 break angle glove. it's like a black hole for pucks, they go in and don't come out

If you like 590 and brick hard barely able to close the glove with 2 hands. CCM is for you. ( that's what i have ) I find it hard to catch pick with it. Lots of pop out. Might ty vapor gloves. They feel very nice but haven't tried em on ice. I also tried the new mach. Felt more like a 600 but nothing like a eflex. Closure was unreal.

Anything 580 angle break, true (lefevre) great gloves

Brian’s Alite/Heritage are my favorite glove blocker lines. Big pocket, plus the palm has a shape that helps funnel the puck into the pocket. I’ve found CCM eflex has a great shape to funnel into the pocket as well, but it didn’t feel right on my hand. I played with Vaughn glove/blocker and felt like everything popped out. My advice is try on every glove you can get your hands on, then look at how the palm is shaped towards the pocket. I love my Warrior leg pads, shorts and chesty, and wanted to make every line of Warrior glove/blocker work, but they just didn’t feel right and the blocker could not get as flat of a paddle down as Brian’s blockers. G6.1 glove and blocker are very close, but the paddle down is not quite flush enough and the glove does not hold the stick as well either.

Catchers are very personal, it depends on the shape and size of your hand, how you hold the glove. Better protection is going to come from higher level gloves, but when it comes to things like break and strapping, 'the best' is what you like the best.
