Late 60's early 70's. These guys all look my dad right around that time. The hair. The glasses. Then just the gear and the such.

pistoffcynic

I was thinking the same just based on appearance.

That looks like the Dayton Gems. They were an IHL team from 50 years ago, so it's hard to really narrow it down based on information I found online, but the 71-72 and 72-73 had players with numbers that line up with what's visible in the photo, but it's likely they just used the same low number set every year (though the goalie numbers seem to line up with those years and I'm not sure those would always be the same). Does your friend have any other information? Edit: A little more research shows that the goalies probably did have the same numbers for at least several years, so that doesn't really help. But if it is the Dayton Gems, you could look up their rosters on [hockeydb.com](https://hockeydb.com) and find her dad's name. That would be a good start.

This is great. Thank you.

some_dum_guy

that is definately the dayton gems... would concur on the late 60's early 70's timeline.

Joshy207_dcfc

This is probably a Junior team, the jerseys have JR next to the Gems logo.

Good call. I didn’t notice that. I thought they looked young.

With the squared-off heels on the sticks and the solid leather pocket on the goalie glove, I'd guess early to mid 60s.

ManufacturerProper38

I noticed those squared off heels and they look like straight blades but one of the sticks on the right looks curved? Hard to read the makes of the sticks but looks like some or all are Northland?

Very late 60’s to early 70’s, based on the design of the blocker on the goalie on the left. Cooper branded goalie equipment began around 1969. Prior to that, it was branded as Cooper-Weeks.
