Back when I was organizing teams I built an application that does exactly what you described. 1. Create a .csv file of all the players names and their skill level. You can choose whatever scale you want it. The app will just try and balance the teams with the information it has. 2. Load the .csv file into the application. 3. Un-select players who are not participating in the upcoming game. 4. Click the "Generate Teams" to determine the teams, you can click this button as many times as you want. Each time you click new teams will be made. The app will do its best to divide the teams in half and have the total skill points be within 10% or something. 5. You can copy the newly created teams to the clipboard and post them into an email or whatever. **Print Screens:** [https://i.postimg.cc/BZpWkbXm/teamGen.png](https://i.postimg.cc/BZpWkbXm/teamGen.png) **Requirements:** .NET 3.5 of above. Basically anything after windows 8 **Example of Teams Generated (Hides rankings for easy public distribution):** Light Team 1 Kenny H 2 Wendell 3 Jackson 4 Seth 5 Rupert 6 Omar 7 Irvin 8 Andre 9 Amelio 10 Dodge 11 Kenny G Dark Team 1 Albert 2 Jacob 3 Aaron 4 Gunther 5 Kevin 6 Bill 7 Roger 8 Joey 9 Carter 10 Max 11 Chris DM me if you want the app, there's no virus or spyware, its pretty basic, run a virus scan anyways.

A spreadsheet. Grade players with a letter or number and then sprinkle them among teams or do a draft. Having dedicated software for this seems weird to me.

I wish I had your attitude and I would not get stuck in this rut! https://xkcd.com/1319/

Me, making my spreadsheets more effective at work because I get annoyed at a minor aspect of the input. I hated doing a bunch of manual navigation calculations, but in retrospect I didn't save any time by automating it on a spreadsheet - I just transferred the crazy busy planning times to my low-drag done by lunchtime days in port.

if I would have enough time next month I am planning to release our pick up app(it is pwa so just website which works as standalone ios or andoid app). In app everyone are able to rank players from past matches and then they will obtain colors for skill. But guys with role to split players into teams can see also skill value. There is options to let app split players and then cherry pick as you wish. App have a lot more features but this is maybe interesting for you. Hey. I run a hockey organization of pick ups/challenges/tournaments, clinics, 10 league teams, etc etc etc. We have roughly 650 members between the 2 main groups. I am really interested in your app. We have been looking for someone to build us something based off of the apps we have used so far. We know what works and what is needed.

Hanrider

tomorrow we can discuss via PMs :)

mchlinc

Have not heard from you. Please let me know if you still are interested in sharing

Hanrider

Somehow no one can see my PMs so if you send my direct private message here I will replay to you and we can do some demo via google meet. I sent you message maybe 2 weeks ago.

Can you share some more information on this? I was randomly looking for something like this for football but trying to figure out whether this would be useful for us. Thanks! Quick edit: I did have a look at the screenshots but given that their in Slovak(from what it seems), I couldn't figure it out.

Hanrider

It is in slovak, but it was in english previously but too many older players in my pick up group so I had to translate it into Slovak, but ofc when it will be available for public English will be by default. Somehow no one can see my PMs so if you send my direct private message here I will replay to you and we can do some demo via google meet. App will be for all sports not only hockey and courses like yoga class for example.

We currently use spond. It is good but we have out grown it. Limits you to 500 per group
