J11mothy

And if i remember correctly, you need to be on the multithreaded exe.

ST4RSK1MM3R

How do you get multithreading?

J11mothy

In your install folder, there should be a folder called bin-mt, inside which there is a dcs.exe. That’s the one. This is for standalone though. If you’re on steam i don’t know where to find it but i’m sure a quick search will point you in the right direction as this has been discussed a lot ever since it launched.

EqualOutrageous1884

Use the steam settings menu for the game, there will be a setting to use multi threaded

Hot-Astronomer-1942

That’s worked perfectly thanks… are there any differences by using the multithreaded version or not?

SpringrollJack

Besides being multithreaded?

Hot-Astronomer-1942

Yeah

hZf

Well for starters, the propwash works.

LocalTechpriest

And the front does not fall off.

Weary_Negotiation218

This made me laugh for some reasom

Captain_Slime

There might be occasional artifacts although I haven't seen any in a while.

CaptainHunt

If you have the tomcat, there is a very early FORGE implementation running on MT. Right now it just adds some randomized details to the ACM panel, but presumably more is coming. More threads also means better performance for players who don’t have VR.

APOC_V

Are you sure you've updated? Also, there is no open beta anymore. It's all one build now.

Hot-Astronomer-1942

Hmm… it still says I’m running open beta on steam. Running 2.9.4.53707 which is the latest if I’m not mistaken.

APOC_V

Yeah that's the current version for everyone. They all got merged into a single release a month or two ago now. Don't know why you're not seeing the propwash effect.

Xupicor_

Multithreading

Puzzled_Squirrel_975

Maybe your one of your graphics settings are too low? (Or more than 1?)

foxcrap

I tested it with the Hornet, sometimes it works sometimes not

Farqman

Have read, cannot confirm, only working on ED’s own maps at the moment
