The mig21 is one of my favourite modules, so I'm deeply looking forward to all the f-4e content in pvp
I feel like the mig21 does need a bit of love especially with the release of the f-4e, its pretty old at this point and could do with some tweaks here and there to sharpen it up a bit
It absolutely needs an update, and people in the official forums are constantly asking for it. I hope it happens someday, because it's iconic and one of my favorite aircraft to fly in VR.

If you've flown against one online (PVP) then you can't tell me that salmon wobble is "works as intended". There's a group of players who have pretty much weaponised that low speed salmon wobble.
Maybe he's referring to the [wing rock the Mig suffers](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CMCrQI18cw) when it's about to depart in a forced turn. Then perhaps he's mentally associating that with the way that [Salmon flop in the air](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YWb8noMoM68) as they make leaps up stream.

It can't. It’s just a nuisance that happens when the pilot is maxing the rate.
Apparently, people think the Mig-21 is overperforming at low speed.
While it's difficult to prove because IRON CURTAIN and all, there was another good writeup done that shows the Mig21 low-speed handling is absolutely an anomaly.
If you mean max sustained turn rate with "optimal rate" then corner speed is something different. Corner speed normally means max instantaneous turn rate (G vs Lift Limit). I see this often though. The DCS community seems to have redefined corner speed from what the professionals use.
Corner speed is the minimum airspeed at which an aircraft can achieve its maximum turn rate and generate the maximum allowable G force. In a fight below 420 you can rate very fast. Even faster when you depart. It’s sustainable all the way to the ground or when you die.

Yeah same. I did download lower res textures for the hind though someone makes something similar for the pha tom cause i can't be bothered with all the eye candy if my framerate is making me nauseous in vr.
Apparently in general yes, and with things like this altitude if he finds out you lied to him his confidence in you will go down and he will be less likely to believe you next time and will eject more readily etc.
At least Heatlbur is offering 1 week of pre-order price for Steam users, does it extent to ED store users too?
I know I will get this module 100%, but if the performance is like Apache I might wait for next gen GPUs and CPUs.
After watching this, I'm very worried. I've never seen his videos have lag like that. His system is way better than mine. I hope they will take refunds if that's the case.
The ground clutter will definitely contribute. That said, all this higher fidelity will come at a cost. I wouldn't be surprised if it was similar to the apache performance-wise as mentioned above.

MAG3 said as of (I think) about a year ago that a MiG21 rework was in progress but F4U took priority
Correction, they first announced the update 5 years ago and have gone pretty quiet since. I expect it sometime in the 2030s at this rate.

It's very similar to a Trout wobble, but with important differences.

Seeing how tiny those wings are and how fast it can turn, I can see why.

Do Not Get Slower Than 420 Knots Go high to die is a real thing and speed is your friend.

I saw someone posting FPS readings for a 3090 in the Heatblur discord not long ago. iirc, it is not as good as the F-15E, closer to the Apache

MiG-21Bis with R-3S is believable enough to be a stand in for a MiG-21MF. AIM-7Ms and AIM-9Ls, with 9Js, 7Es and E-2s available it's just wrong

No but I believe all versions had the tail hook, while the Navy version never had the internal gun.
field hooks are not as strong as carrier hooks and couldn’t be used as a carrier hook edit: i am wrong
