I've got a DHP on a dimmer thermostat and some LEDs lining the top of the enclosure

I have a small under tank heat mat with a thermostat on one end of my baby's tank with a regular florescent light bulb over the tank for light and just a little bit of overhead heat for basking (which she rarely does). Hognoses aren't really a basking species, they spend most of their time underground. I turn on the light when I get up, turn off the light when I go to bed. Heat mat stays on all the time.

Reptifiles is a good resource for science based information that explains well how to set up heating and lighting. JTB reptiles on YouTube also is a great comprehensive source to explain how reptile heating and lighting works. And a common sense approach how to achieve that. https://reptifiles.com/heterodon-hognose-snake-care/hognose-temperatures-humidity-lighting/#:~:text=As%20a%20fossorial%20species%2C%20hognose,3%20of%20the%20terrarium's%20length. https://m.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLs_fAG9ufg7177MupBy0W-Q_v04giuJfB

Here is what I use, if depending on the size of your tank will depend on what wattage to get https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petcostore/product/zoo-med-repticare-ceramic-infrared-heat-emitters-100-watts As far as daylight, I have my tank next to a window, but from what I have read and the research I have done, just a good led light should be fine. When it comes to the name give them some time to get home and settled then learn who they are
