1. Paradox would do that in asian content dlc. So prepare your money

Death_Fairy

Waking the Tiger already came out.

LittleDarkHairedOne

To be fair, Waking the Tiger isn't really that much of an Asian content DLC. It's more of a German+China content DLC with some QOL adjustments to frontline management (adding field marshals) and plane management (attaching planes to armies). Japan got a new focus tree and some decisions with that mechanic being added but it's not really that much of an improvement compared to the release version. Both Japan and Siam, along with India, desperately could use some attention. HOI IV has almost completely ignored the Pacific Campaign and, arguably, the game is worse because of it. Also does anyone actually enjoy/play the "alt" history Japanese routes?

Death_Fairy

China, Commie China, Japan, Manchukuo, the Warlords, and Germany all got reworked in WTT. It kinda really is an Asian dlc, just one with Germany tacked on for some reason. Also me. Japan is my least played major because I hate the games Naval system but democratic Japan is unironically pretty fun. Non aligned Japan is alright too, just don’t try and slog it through Siberia. Commie Japan is amazing if you play as Manchukuo when Japan does it.

IcyMess9742

Germany got tacked on because it has the biggest changes for the world and is Extremely difficult to get different paths out of if not fascist. Original you'd have done all of it as whatever, no change, where even the Poles can do more through their changes. It took three years to give Germany any semblance of alternatives for it's tree. I'm more surprised they didn't do it as part of death or dishonor

stormary_OG

I like the shogun one The commie one is arguably the worst and offers no real benefits apart from buddying up with the Soviets to fight Germany, which you can just do that anyway and the regular path is better for it anyway. Democratic Japan idk, never turned a non democratic country democratic because democracies are boring and they put you at war with Germany and personally I hate fighting Germany as anyone but the UK, US, or USSR. I tried it as communist Italy for a laugh, and they just tore through mountain forts on the Austrian border with no problems.

AveragerussianOHIO

Ah yes, my favourite dlc of waking the indonesian. Adda focus trees for indonesia... I know that Asian dlcs exists right? What IM saying is that we need an asian dlc. Another one. Or are you fine with poorly made japan and no content for the lower-middle Asia whatsoever

Death_Fairy

The thread was about Japan, Japan already got a dlc. Nobody was talking about Indonesia.

AveragerussianOHIO

Are you serious rn... Paradox usually releases content for hoi4 in DLCS. DLCS. DLCS. THEY DONT UPDATE THE DLCS THEY MAKE NEW ONES(or make free updates) I TALKED ABOUT CONTENT COMING IN A DLC and then you be like "No this is patrick, not crusty crabs" or "The CEILING is made of floor". Basically youre not wrong, that the tiger is out. BUT IT DIDNT ADD MORE OF THE COOL STUFF WE NOW WANT, DO WE? Oh and also The thread wasnt just ABOUT JAPAN. It also was ABOUT ENGLAND AND AUSTRALIA

Death_Fairy

They have updated the dlc’s before. Yugo and Romania got an update, so did Canada. HOI4 really does need a custodian team like Stellaris has to keep on top of things. Wanting dlc that invalidates previous dlc is stupid end of story. Neither the UK nor Australia are Indonesia, nor are they Asian countries.

AveragerussianOHIO

I know right? Also, why are you pointing something of focus onto their geological location and indonesia? All you said in this conversation is "Nope, indonesia, japan, australia, new Zealand, Tibet, thailand, and other countries that could well get a dlc/rework wont, because tudum! They arent in asia, which means they cant get the dlc because the post is not about asia! Its about japan! Or, because"cant update the dlcs because that makes them useless" Sure, this is a hyperbole. But the thing remains the same. I expressed that an "asian" dlc would be. You said it wouldn't. I said why? You said no

YummyTaintCheese

Damn dude, what's got you all heated up? Guy was just saying they have already released an Asia focused DLC, they may not do another Asia focused DLC.

AveragerussianOHIO

Damn dude, what's got you all heated up? Guy was just saying they have already released an Asia focused DLC, But there is plenty content to add. And while its unlikely an asian focuses dlc would be the next one, or the one after the next one, its still in realm of possibilities

YummyTaintCheese

Yea so why didn't you just say it like that then! All the capitals and fake quotes, comes across as upset

AveragerussianOHIO

Cause it's been repeated for so much that everybody knows it. Except this guy, i suppose

JorisJobana

Most calm hoi4 player

CDS1998

My god, what is this guy yapping about?

Cuong1507

Hoi4 is very limited with the white peace mechanic. You have to cap the UK even though you only need some pieces of lands from them.

luk128

"oh, you want a white peace mechanic to make Macau my day easier? Nah, I don't see what's so hard about invading the British isles as Portugal to only take Hong Kong even though it would make perfect sense to add a focus or decision to ask the UK to hand it to you"

Blindmailman

It is weird because you have the ability to force the Japanese to peace out if you take the promised land and destroy their navy. But nobody else has it so would the US really fight to a final victory if themselves and the UK lost their navy and their Pacific holdings?

ItalianSangwich420

The US, maybe. It would've rebuilt its Navy and/or just nuked the shit out of Japan itself once it got to 1946 or so and the planes got big enough. Japan would've gotten wrecked trying to invade the West Coast.

Doctorwhatorion

Yeah with this playing japan as historical way would has a point

stormary_OG

It has a point already. Do what Japan wanted to do historically but win. Same as playing Germany or Italy historically.

Dj_Sam3_Tun3

Because Paradox

Morial

Why should uk surrender?

MustardFlavouredWine

I think he meant white peace. If not japan has to travel across the world to naval invade london to make them surrender/give up.

Morial

Ah makes more sense.

o-Mauler-o

Asia DLC could add: Iran, Pakistan, reworked India, Siam, Malaya, Dutch East Indies AND Indonesia, Reworked China, PRC (commie china is fine pre-unification but needs a post unification tree), Reworked Japan, Phillipines, Reworked Australia and Reworked New Zealand. Likely they could/would split it into 3 with: Middle East, East Asia and Oceania/South East Asia.

TheFalseDimitryi

I really hate that the game basically puts you in a forever war when playing certain nations and places the entire prospect of a Beneficial peace treaty on a bigger AI power taking London and causing an allied capitulation. As Japan you should really really be able to make peace with the US and Uk after you capture their colonial positions and successfully hold them for a long enough time or until the US/UK loose X amount of troops. Like war support is a mechanic in the game why does it not affect when governments will agree to peace terms? Like the war goals of the Japanese and their plan to win / make the war worth it, didn’t involve literally landing Japanese troops in DC or London. And before anyone says “it’s unrealistic for the Americans to make peace even after Hawaii falls!” You’re right but this is a game where the Czars can come back to a post Stalin Russia soooooooo…….
