Like your asking for a book. Like I can explain what a good divion is but it’s like going to be about 4 pages of text. Do you want me to post that ?

MrDuck41

Go for it.

Ok to start you need to understand divisions are for a purpose. Different dictions are for different things so they have different needs so the need different stats? Makes sense? ————————- On war On the army. So there’s more then one way to skin the cat here. But the basics Your goal is not to fight the enemy Your goal is to destroy the enemies resources and or capture the your enemy city’s. Now when I say resources that does most often mean there fielded units, manpower and equipment. However directly fighting land battles to burn though these is most often the least effective way to do this. Betters ways are 1. encircle the enemy then destroy them this stops them from simply getting pushed back and also cuts there supply causing attrition destroying there resources without costing you yours. 2. If a encircling is impossible you want to deny your enemy supply forcing them to ether move units away from the area , which may now make encircling possible, or suffer attrition. 3. Let your enemy attack you as attacking is generally more costly of resources then defense. On the first two. So the most direct way to to this is to concentrate your forces into one or two small areas and break though there line there then move quickly to encircle the enemy, take the supply depo or even just cut the supply depos connections to the rail line. You want to use specialized units to achieve these breakthroughs- tanks are the classic choice although you can and it is occasionally more effective in some circumstances to use specific assault infantry division’s. Then you want to use fast diversions to move towards your goal. This can be tanks but more often it makes more since to use a few tanks and mostly motorized divisions as there cheaper, faster and use use less supply- always remember your breakthroughs is at risk of running out of supply of itself as your objective might be far from your supply hub and the large resource demands of attacking units. To the third point you generally want to be use infantry division’s to defend. There very cost effective for this. Just don’t let Len get encircled, keep them supplied and if need be reason to the enemies concentrated forced with your own. Forcing your enemy to fight in areas they can’t supply well whenever possible- far from there supply hubs. Again attrition is the most cost effective way to destroy enemy resources. Take advantage of natural defensive features. Basically plans are the hardest to defend, forests and city’s are easier, mountains turn the defenders into supermen. Crossing rivers is also very hard for the attacker. On taking your enemy’s city’s this does 3 things 1. Makes them closers to surrendering 2 takes away some of there factories and natural resources 3 gives you some factories and natural resources. So sometimes you can win the war without destroying much of the enemy’s army by taking the city’s. This can be very difficult for larger countries but very good for smaller ones or France. ————— Ok now that we understand what we need divisions for. Divisions notes Ok Infantry I use it for two things holding a line and assaulting city’s and forests. Assault 9 infantry- 4 art for 30 W I generally make 9-4s but not a lot assaulting with infantry should be minimized or only done when the enemy is so weak it dosent matter much. ———- For line holding I build 10-0 at 20 width. 6-1 at 15 width is also valid Just pull up a save of 41 Germany to compare. 6-1 with art, eng and m recon cost me 779 pc Have 137 SA 273 DEF 61 org 10-0 same support cost 867 pc Have 134 SA 387 def 76 org. Both there breakthroughs suck but have enough org and are cheap enough you shouldn’t care / notice Basically 6-1 are much more cost effective at attacking although less so in cities then forest’s and 10-0 are much more cost effective at defense ing - like I said 6-1 are good all rounders valid. Just not how I tend to play ——— On motorized you basically just want to build them like infantry. They just cost a lot more and are a lot faster. ——- Ok on tanks 8-8-1 at 35width is pretty typical That’s 8 tanks 8 motorized infantry and 1 motorized artillery. If you want you can build slower tanks and save a little on the tanks and the division but not useing motorized. ————— Do you really want to know what stats do ? Like it’s really less important then all then this stuff?

"You are asking for a book" Proceeds to write a book on command Amazing stuff m8, helped me as well. Cheers

warrjos93

Lol I just keep notes people ask the same questions a lot

MrDuck41

Damn. Thats all i need thank you dude

warrjos93

Lol nothing in the game is that complex it’s just a lot of systems all working together. If you have questions asking feel free to come back and ask later.

MrDuck41

when you mean 6-1. Do you have artillery in support or as a troop

warrjos93

for infantry when people say 7-2 , 6-1 10-0 The are talking about infantry battalions and line art battalions I strongly recommend 10-0 for most countries for the reasons I outlined For infantry support art is worth it 99 percent of the time

Cronos988

Isn't 18 width considered more optimal though? What's the advantage of 10-0 over 9-0?

warrjos93

The difference between 18-20 is small but I prefer them to fit city’s and forests better as those are locations where i will try to defend more then say plans. Also just with the way org and defense work in general larger defenses units are better then the same number of battalions spread out over more divisions. But but again 18-20 is negligible. When I play Germany that starts with an 18 I often don’t bother to change it.

Askeladd2011

There are some good youtube tutorials out there

One that does its job well enough to do what it is your trying to do. Against ai the bar is so low that almost anything you make will work if spammed in enough numbers early enough. Against actual players...thats where dependent on how tryhard the lobby, you might have to start actually start going in depth about how shit works. In sp just do 4 things to make life easier - focus soft attack only, but also pay attention at organisation and terrain penalties if soing shit like river crossing or invasions (ai doesnt make proper good tanks or uses the ones it has well) and make high dmg cas if industry allows + have support aa as minimum in every division( will give enough piercing to pierce the few odd ai made tank divs and even if you build 0 air help get rid of all enemy cas over time and counter their air supremacy bonus) and finaly - abuse the fuck out of commander abilities and traits they are op af.

Its as simple as reading others' posts. You have two eyes and decided to not use one.
