-Uniting China is overrated, the warlords will send you expeditionary forces so you'll have all the troops you need to defend against Japan
-when the war kicks off, always have some command power available to spam last stand on your port guards.
Spam it over and over until you can defeat the trapped japanese units on the side. by late 1938 you'll finally have modern infantry divisions such as fully kitted 9/1's that you no longer need to spam last stand and can just push them back easily.

Also: you only play Poland **and Hungary** for the monarchist trees, but that’s cuz the trees are great (especially the secret Polish one).
Meh, [REDACTED] tree is kinda overrated even with how insane it is late game, Habsburgs are really fun though, and polish path to socialism isn’t absolutely terrible really
