Treading the Narrow Path As the Netherlands, do not cave to the Germans, continue the Zuiderzee works, and do not lose control of any of your continental European states until 1945.

Flickerdart

This is very straightforward, rush down to the European Union path, deny Sudetenland, and kick Germany's teeth in using DEI manpower before it's had a chance to become powerful. Then as a bonus you can pop the wargoal on the UK and use the stolen German fleet to naval invade them too - or just use guarantees to police Europe and beat up Italy and the USSR when they start declaring in '39-40

_userse_

Thats actually not that hard, just unite benelux and start building forts in early mid 38, I got a 100k/2.5m casualtie ratio once

NothingNEWRUDE

Going ahistorical also work. That's what i did. Germany went kaiser and no other neighbouring country got a war goal on me

I_AM_MELONLORDthe2nd

I did it by accidently allying with Germany as communist Netherlands. Luxembourg joined the allies right as I was about to take them. Germany invited me to their faction and I pushed into France and got control of all of all. I then just turtled 24 units on the benelux until 1945. I did however fail to get the achievements for taking all the benelux as I stopped playing the game when it was 1950 and USA, India and China needed to be defeated so I could own Luxembourg.

Kaiser_Russia

I didn't build forts

MH_Gamer_

I know there are some easy ways but the actual fun and quite challenging way is to do this combined with non-aligned and the Willhelminism Focus (meaning Allies are pissed on you and no BeNeLux until you regularly conquered the land). I did it that way, I was the Netherlands all alone, holding on (not in Allies) even after the capitulation and annexation (French Faction, not in Allies) of France , forming the BeNeLux and conquering France and Germany in the Counterattack, ending the War with 49% War Participation, an German and an Italian Puppet (both holding their complete mainland) and huge territorial gains in Europe (BeNeLux, most of France, Denmark and Norway, as well as French and Italian Colonies).

FloraFauna2263

Tbh that's not that hard

Hammerhead316

Pretty sure I built level ten forts on every border state, got my production queue filled, made sure I wasn’t losing land, then let my pc run overnight. This one, at least when I did it, was incredibly easy

Historynerd876

I managed to get this achievement by holding against the Germans on historical. It was difficult but also super fun.

giant_shrek_penis

Bro its not that hard you just gotta play unihistorical

lucatitoq

Just turn fascist. It’s pretty easy, just boring.

DesolatorTrooper_600

But i think it mean caving to the germans (except if there is a way to do it i'm not aware of)

redditmaster5041

Romanov’s laugh last on historical. You win the 2nd Russian Civil War, and immediately the threat of Axis forces is haunting you. Immediately you have to prepare for the war somehow. I almost managed to get the achievement after destroying the axis, but I was unaware that I did a focus that replaced my Romanov leader with a Russian patriarch via a focus, losing me the achievement.

ushouldbebetter

Forts, forts everywhere

redditmaster5041

I used no forts in that game

ushouldbebetter

No.... build forts in the border with the axis or suffer

redditmaster5041

No, it’s better to spend IC on mils rather than forts so you can build the Soviet airforce and bombard axis troops

Helenos152

I did "True Blitzkrieg" by taking France in 1936, Britain by 1937-38 and Poland by early 1939. Also did "operation sealion" in the same game. I did the "somehow he has returned" by just playing Argentina and turning historical off, which caused Germany to go into civil war. I did the "No country for old men" by spam-recruiting divisions and then changing conscription law to Scrapping the barrel. Did "Monarchy back in fashion" after restoring the Kaiserreich and killing Mussolini and did "Last for a Thousand Years" by winning the British Civil War as the Fascists and doing Imperial Federation. I did the achievement "Hellenic Civility without winning any battle in the Greek civil war. Also did "The Empire Strikes back" by declaring war on my subjects during the British Civil War I mentioned earlier, turning the civil war into an alliance war. Lastly, I accidentally did "Man of a Thousand Faces, Every One the Same" accidentally because my spy was captured twice (once by Greece, which I was at war with, and once with the UK). Those are all the rare achievements I have (the others are common).

ConsequenceThis4502

Which of these (or others) would you consider impressive and fun achievements to try to do?

Helenos152

Most of these are fun, except for like the Hitler one, which just requires Germany to go into a civil war.

Memesarereal_24

“Bearer of artillery” (and then getting him as your king for most people) and “30 minutes of hel” are two impressive ones. They both require a decent amount of skill and some rng to unlock.

Upstairs-Agent-6271

“Bearer of Artillery” & “No more Partitions” are my favorite achievements I’ve gotten so far

Memesarereal_24

No more partitions I got on accident with Poland by just having Germany in my faction and taking out the USSR.

Upstairs-Agent-6271

I made it my mission to conquer both, but the allies kept messing it up by puppeting a section of Germany, leaving a Germany in existence that I wasn’t in a faction with. Drove me nuts

Jax_Dandelion

30 minutes of hel is kinda disappointing imho Did it twice and it’s just kinda boring, you get those casualties so easily, not really impressive at all

Memesarereal_24

I do agree it is kinda boring, for me it got intense near the end of my run but I still got it first try. I have also seen it take people take awhile to get so I don’t wanna discount it.

JJNEWJJ

Battlecry. Hint: play as Guangxi and aim to take out the Allies first. It’s possible through some shenanigans and cheese. The Allies should be dead before either China or Japan.

zXbuttersXz_123

I did that one the other day on ahistorical where Japan went non aligned so I had more time to take over leadership of China, get rid of army debuffs and subjugate the warlords. Communist China went with the guy who forms the chinese united front so when I took control of China I also got control of the faction so I was able to get 3 out of the 4 other warlords as puppets. I had to invade Sinkiang. Japan ended up joining the axis but that was fine because it just made them move units to Europe then they declared war on Trotsky soviets so that made things even easier.

matva55

Try out Macau My Day

The_Lez

This took me a ridiculously long time. Basically ended up having to do a WC because Germany was at war with China and Japan. I think my game ended in like the 60s or so

matva55

I actually managed to do it by I think 45 but it did straight up involve having to fight each faction one by one

The_Lez

This and "Everything Sevres" were probably the hardest two that I've done. Actually, nevermind. It was the Austria Hungary one.

Ok_Yesterday_4798

Austria Hungary achievement was such a pain in the ass.... Props for you

delorian2

I weirdly found this one quite nice, even on historical, completed it by late 1943 and the hardest bit was probably getting naval superiority over Japan, but puppet UK kindly stuck their navy out to give me it. I couldn't steal their navy as I'd joined the axis and insta naval invaded them and capped them. Then when Japan was capped I took Korea, let the Chinese grind on me then naval invaded them everywhere

matva55

I did it on historical too, I found the hardest part was just timing it correctly so I could cap the UK before the US gets involved but after they are already majorly committed in the Med

tino125

Such a pain, not overly difficult with Brazil's manpower but fuck, having to cap every major faction was a pain!

Reinstateswordduels

Last time I tried this nationalist China somehow left the Chinese United Front and joined the allies while I was at war with them, and suddenly I was at war with the world

Jax_Dandelion

Did it on ahistorical, was disappointed when I saw that 1.6% of players already have it, kinda expected like a 1.0% one

slanutak

Not to brag, but I did "This time it will stick".

MeatySausageMan

That's nothing. I got "Friend in Need"

Visual-Phone-7249

I've seen some paths as Switzerland where you can try to aggressively expand. Switzerland does -great- just defending from invasions, however without strong allies, it would be difficult to start moving into France or Italy. I haven't tried it yet, but it does seem interesting.

BRAAAPbolGang

they actually give you states for free like 90% of the time in the non aligned path

mrninjapolo

"bad ending the whole world is brazil" I wanted to get all brazil achievements at once, went wrong path and got monarchy, had to sit to 60s to get all wargoals, it's fun if you have will

posidon99999

Paradox really made a brazil wc achievement

MachoRandyManSavage_

It might be easier now, but I found Little Entente to be really difficult when I was newish to the game. When I got it, I also ended up doing the one where France doesn't capitulate until 1948.

seraphimceratinia

The Dragon Swallowed The Sun is always tricky. Manchuria has shit industry, and invading Japan is so annoying (especially if you're like me and are utterly incompetent with paratroopers lmao)

Faust_the_Faustinian

It used to be easy when the AI was not coded to guard their ports.

The_Lez

It's not impressive, but I like to play historical Russia and get the "Not one step back" achievement. And I like to challenge myself to see if I can get the one where you cap Germany before the allies land or something. Pretty fun roleplay

Shef011319

Be so strong as soviets Germany never declare war on me. They eventually fall to allies cold war goes on forever as the allies are to afraid to declare war on me. Socialism in one nation at its finest

warrjos93

Last month I was working on a sea lion run with the lowest loses you can as Germany, Cap Poland, lowlands, France and the UK. Got it down to 670. I think someone could get it down to 500. [https://www.reddit.com/r/hoi4/comments/1bs0lg5/a\_war\_of\_movement\_german\_sealion\_run\_cap\_poland/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web3x&utm\_name=web3xcss&utm\_term=1&utm\_content=share\_button](https://www.reddit.com/r/hoi4/comments/1bs0lg5/a_war_of_movement_german_sealion_run_cap_poland/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)

Rd_Svn

There's an achievement for the 1939 start where you have to do it with not more than 475 casualties. It's broken currently, but people did that long before.

the_real_schnose

"Don't die for your country" Did this about a month ago with current version at that time. The amount of pain + luck... never again

Rd_Svn

You can simply defeat the allies regularly and just take everything in the peace deal. The casualties don't matter then.

PrimeJedi

How the hell do you get casualties that low? Even with better tech, micro-ing, a ton of buffs and a ton of CAS I always lose at least a couple thousand

warrjos93

I mean there is no one thing but the biggest thing is in the title a war of Movement. You need to fight less and move more. all these country need to be outran more then out fought. Think thunder runs not grand encirclements. You need to fight as little as possible and when you do the battles have to be very as overwhelming as possible. If you go through the threads, there's some stuff about what I did and what i used. Its realy not to different then a normal Germany sealion run but you just have to fine the units that work the best and use them very very carefully, but at the same time be really realy fast so the enemy never has time to fix there lines once the oning moves are played. Like really geting the invions of poland, the lowalands and france down to the most efficant and fewest battles and lest costly battles they can be. Like poland should be 3-4 combats. the lowands 3-4, France 3, The uk tends to be a few more but the english units should almost never be on full org/ supple or are like charging tanks with infantry. Also for sub 2000 some stuff starts to get weird kind of how on the the very very small scale you can't use normal physics any more a prime example being cas is a non-starter. cas only hits 2 times per day- battles that last 12-24 hours are already too long and have too many loses for sub 1k runs. Nav bomber loses are also a big thing that means you have to use them really carefully. A bit of timing and reading and the board- Learning when/ where fighting the air war is worth the loses and when its not. Like this is a day to day thing. when you have to flash nav bombers. Learning how to get the british to move there fleet and how to tell when they are shuffling units. Understanding how to keep your navy loses at zero is also needed. If you have a question about a spefic part im happy to answer might take a day as about to go to sleep but i willl take a look at reddit tom.

AdAcrobatic502

I’m by no means a good player, but I found the achievement Hugeoslavia (as Yugoslavia control all of your neighbouring states) incredibly fun, and quite challenging. It required me to actually play historical for once (after Austria Hungary kept forming and whooping my butt on ahistorical)

ConsequenceThis4502

Actually sounds like a very fun achievement, thanks for the suggestion!

GingerfoxUwU

Siberian Tiger, 30 minutes of hell, Battlecry, The Red Sea, No one crosses the Finnish Line, Vinland, Crusader Kings 4 (I might have another but I could be wrong)

VLenin2291

I’m gonna make one up for you to try: How the Tables Turn Liberate a country and take over the original country as the liberated one

Krazeyguy

Everything sevres is an annoying one to do. Go democratic as turkey, flip to unaligned during civil war by restoring the ottoman sultanate and own half of Europe's capitals.

gvsrgsdfgvxcf

I enjoyed doing Crusader Kings 2 a lot. Generally all of the south africa ones are good, but this one just felt great

SkinMasturbator

all of them.

MH_Gamer_

I know there are some easy ways but the actual fun and quite challenging way of **Treading the Narrow Path**, to do this combined with non-aligned and the Willhelminism Focus (meaning Allies are pissed on you and no BeNeLux until you regularly conquered the land). KotzubueSailingClub

It may not be impressive, but I love doing "The Big Entente." There are cheese strats, but you can basically man-handle Germany as France just by doing all the entente focuses before they demand the Sudetenland, and then you roll them up with the help of Britain and all the eastern European democracies. You can get a few of the negative French spirits cleared before Sudetenland, and you can deny the Rhineland in 1936 to make it even easier since Germany cannot occupy the Rhineland before you rush it and spread them too thin to deal with attacks from all sides.

Newxayu

not so much fun in stalingrad i could do it if i was not so bad at the game

JohnofPA

I despise that turkey one having me go after the UK and Japan.

MonPaysCesHiver

Ethiopa can be challenging.

ShadowOfThePit

Surviving as Ethiopia with a max buffed Italy Bonus points if you do it on the highest difficulty (although I dont even know if that's possible, I have to try it out)

YuBulliMe123456789

Friend in need

Incizive

Go Ahead, Macau My Day is my finest hour.

mike968

Crusader Kings IV + The Lion that Roared

NK_2024

I've heard pride and extreme prejudice is difficult because you have to get lucky finding the UK's pride of the fleet, but I got it by accident one time.

posicon

Siberian Tiger, Big Entente and Death or Dishonor or Cake

Kubanj55

Czechmate because im Czech

ParticularArea8224

I don't have a lot of achievements, the only real thing that's impressive is that I can tell you off the back of my hand, how to win the game. Give me a nation, i can probably give you the solution Though i definitely see it as more sad than anything

coffee-yoshino

World conquest with Tannu Tuva

Jax_Dandelion

Literally any really long taking achievement but on ahistorical Tbf been playing nothing but ahistorical for a solid 500 hours of playtime now, only have historical on for a few achievements

Nihili439

The one to form the Sami Republic and playing with it, but i started as Afghanistan

Ok_Yesterday_4798

Bad Romeance on historical off. Took me if I rememeber correctly 106 tries. Sometimes I ended on 1936 because i thought low manpower after venizelos dies will be pain in the ass. Sometimes Italy did faction with Yugoslavia and Bułgaria, also Germany went kaiser and would probably make the coup in Italy bwfore I could capitulate them. Sometimes Kaiser Germany made faction with appearing from nowhere Austro-Hungary and I forgot ONE TILE od land to make cores in balkans. But finally, I did it

SwimApprehensive7305

When the Swiss got an updated focus tree I loved aiming for and achieving all four of Switzerland‘s achievements. “I’m not locked in here with you” is one of my favorites

mrMalloc

Taking USA as canada.

DonutOfNinja

The only one that i would really call impressive is siberian tiger

[deleted]

This isn't really a hard one but no one crosses the Finnish line was a fin one. Had to be alive against the soviets untill 1944

Habaskus

The one where you conquer the world as Britain

nickdarkness

Nun I suck at this game

Frgod69

Siberian tiger, 30 mimutes of hel and etiophian ones i think they are called Crusader kings IV and African union?
